《We're Just Friends (Clexa AU)》Chapter Twenty Two

The next couple days were great for Lexa. She had classes all day with Clarke and she liked it more than she thought she should have. During class she sat next to the blonde and instead of paying attention to the teacher like usual, she started watching the blonde draw in her notebook or watch her daydream.
During lunch Clarke would sit next to Lexa and brush her leg up against Lexa's, when she would notice that the girl didn't mind she would move closer. Making them both get butterflies.
Clarke spent less time paying attention to all her friends, and paid more attention to Lexa. When the whole group was talking, the two girls would have their own little conversation. No one seemed to mind or really notice.
Lexa would then go home after school and do her homework as Callie did her online school, since Callie was going to be missing school for a month her teachers decided to email her homework everyday. But anyway, after Lexa was done her homework she would spend time with Callie and Aden, while also texting Clarke nonstop. Clarke would send Lexa little snapchats when she was bored, either of her signing or just using random filters. When Lexa would see then she couldn't help but smile. Even though she didn't want to admit it, she liked Clarke a lot more than she should. Lexa was the happiest she had been in awhile.
On Wednesday night just as Lexa was about to go to bed her phone rang, she looked at who it was then at the time. What could Clarke possibly want at 2 in the morning, Lexa thought to herself.
"Hello?"
"Oh you were asleep weren't you? I'm sorry." Clarke said.
"I was about to but it's fine." Lexa yawned, "What's up?"
"I'm doing Chapter 6 lesson 8 in math and I can't figure out this one problem."
"Wasn't that due last week?"

"Maybe, but do you think you could help? It's fine if you don't, I understand. I mean you were gonna go to bed and it's a school night."
"No it's fine, what problem."
After Lexa helped Clarke with the math problem they ended up facetiming and talking about random things, which ended up with Clarke driving over to pick Lexa up at 3:30am so Lexa could teach her how to skateboard.
"Hey Callie." Lexa whispered gently waking her best friend up.
"Mmm."
"I'm going out."
"What time is it?" Callie asked looking around their room.
"Around three thirty."
"Where?"
"Clarke's outside, I'm gonna teach her how to skateboard."
"Why?"
"I don't know," Lexa said shrugging her shoulders, "we were on facetime and thought it would be fun."
"Why now though?"
"We just feel like it. So can you cover for me if I'm not back when my parents wake up?"
"Yeah I'll say you went for a run or something."
"Thanks."
"Just don't blame me when you fall asleep in class tomorrow."
Lexa just rolled her eyes as she grabbed two of her skateboards.
As Clarke drove them to an empty parking lot they sang all the words to every LANY song that came on at the top of their lungs. Finding out their favorite song was ILYSB.
Lexa spent an hour teaching Clarke who eventually gave up and just started recording Lexa. Then they sat on top of a hill that looked over parts of Arkadia. And when it started to rain they dance for a couple minutes before running back to the car.
"You know," Clarke said looking outside at the rain, "it might sound weird or stupid but I think you might be my new favorite person."
"It's not weird or stupid. I feel the same way."
"Really?"
"If I didn't feel that way, do you really think I'd be here at five twenty six in the morning." Lexa said pointing to the clock on the car.

Clarke looked over to see Lexa smiling at her and couldn't help but smile back.
Lexa looked down at Clarke's lips, licking her own lips as she did without realizing. Clarke looked at Lexa's lips and ended up doing the same. Lexa leaned over the arm rest and brought her hand to Clarke's neck as her thumb rested on her cheek, pulling her in to a kiss. Lexa felt a ton of butterflies as her lips slowly moved in sync with Clarke's, tongues dancing around in each other's mouths, as their favorite LANY song played in the background drowning out the rain. Their noses brushed against each other as they pulled away for air. Lexa's thumb brushed against Clarke's cheek as she changed the angle and brought the blonde in for another kiss.
Once Lexa realized what she was doing she pulled away stuttering, "O- oh I'm, I'm sorry. I- I- I shouldn't, I shouldn't have done that."
"No yeah it's fine." Clarke said, her smile slowly disappearing.
"It's not that I...It just...I don't know I- I just...I'm sorry."
"Yeah I get it, it's totally fine."
"Well umm you take me home now, if you don't mind?"
"Actually it's almost sunrise," Clarke said looking at the clock, "and it just stopped raining, so do you wanna go watch it on the beach."
"Yeah sure, that'll be cool."
Clarke drove to Starbucks so they could get breakfast sandwiches and coffee then drove to the closest beach. She started taking more videos of Lexa as she climbed around on the monkey bars in the park that were on the beach. At around 6:30 the alarm on Lexa's phone that was suppose to wake her up went off and the two girls realized they only have an hour and a half till school started.
"So how was it?" Callie asked once Lexa came home.
Lexa started frantically getting ready for school.
"Good."
"You were out all night and all I get is a good."
"I- I have to take a shower. I'll tell you when I'm done." Lexa said walking into the bathroom.
"So?" Callie asked 30 minutes later when Lexa came out of the bathroom.
"I tried teaching her but she just couldn't get the hang of it, then we sat at the edge of this field that looked over some of Arkadia, then it rained, when it stopped we got coffee and watched the sunrise on the beach." Lexa answer fasted as she put on some white chucks.
"That's all?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean almost every time you guys are alone you end up fucking, so I don't really believe that's all that happened." Callie whispered.
"I umm, when it was raining and we were in the car I kissed her. It was a really like nice, soft kiss I guess but I ended up saying I shouldn't have done it, and I could tell she was a little upset."
"Why shouldn't you have?"
"I don't know, I just...I just don't wanna like her, and the kiss, it didn't help with not liking her."
"But you do, so what's the problem."
"You know the problem. And no I'm not positive yet."
"Lexa," Callie sighed, "you can't do this. You can't kiss her, and make her excited that you possibly like her back, then tell her that you shouldn't have kissed her, making her confused and upset. When you do that you're leading her on and you know it's not right."
"I know, I just don't know what to do."
"We'll talk about it more when you get home, you'll be late soon."
"Oh my god." Lexa said realizing she only had 15 minutes to get to school and school was 20 minutes away, "Bye."

Shadow in the North
What if a work of fiction wasn't fiction at all? What if we only thought it was fiction because it was written down, and we were separated from it by the page? Isabel Darrow, troubled by her past and feeling disconnected from the world, likes her doctor's suggestion that the world of fiction might become reality. She likes the idea of waking up in the middle of her favourite book with the handsome, brooding Mr Thornton glaring at people in his mill yard, but she doesn't worry about the foul air of dirty, smoky Milton, because it's not real, and it was written over 160 years ago.But then she takes a trip to Oxford, and gets waylaid along the way, finding herself greeted at a smoky train station, by a man called Mr Hale, who claims to be her godfather. When Isabel meets Margaret and first sees Mr Thornton, she's determined to help the course of love run a little more smoothly for the two stubborn lovers. But Gaskell hadn't accounted for a second young lady in the Crampton house, and whilst Isabel tries to adapt to a life where women have no independence or equality, Milton must adapt to her. The question is, will Mr Thornton adapt to her, or Margaret, first?
