《La Lace (Elizabeth Olsen x F Reader)》Chapter 10- A night to remember

It had been almost a month since our first 'real' night together. We call it that because surprisingly neither of us was drunk. Which for us is an achievement considering whenever we 'hang out' in the evening it consisted of a bottle of wine being opened and Game of Thrones on the TV. It would also lead to hot steamy... food. Food which Lizzie always cooked and was always delicious. She's so thoughtful, she packs me a lunch of left overs after every meal she makes, so the next day at work we can each lunch together in her classroom. We also have hot steamy sex as well; I can't forget about that.

It was going really well for us... too well.

We text when we aren't together. At night our conversations turn not so PG and photos are exchanged. Photos of which we have both agreed not to save in our phones... You never know what could happen. Considering she was still with Robbie; it was a precaution we had to take. I was still in my teacher training so if it got out, I would lose my job and any future in teaching at the University, as Elizabeth is the one giving them feedback AND one of the people who decides if I get a full-time job there.

It feels like I'm living in a movie.

Coming back to the present day, we have planned to go out for our first official date. It had been a month and a bit since we had begun 'talking' so we felt as though we deserved a dinner date together. I suggested a small restaurant down the road from my apartment but Lizzie swiftly, not so politely, declined and told me we would be going to 'The VYNL' on the 3rd Avenue. I hadn't heard of it and so when I did google it, I found out why it was a mystery to me; A pricey restaurant where wines span up to the $1K mark. I would never step a foot inside The VYNL if it wasn't for Lizzie insisting we went and that she would pay.

Considering the luxurious place we would be going to eat, I have finally decided that tonight is the night I will pop the question.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

"Want to be my girlfriend?"

"Girlfriends?"

"I love you; will you be-" I definitely won't be asking her to be official and in the same sentence telling her I loved her. I need to calm down.

I had dressed to impress. Considering the weight of tonight, I put a lot of effort into my appearance. I wore a red suit, which Aubrey so kindly helped me pick out, even though it cost more than Y/N monthly rent. Oh yeah, I told Aubrey about the bartender I'm now cheating on my husband with... It sounds worse when I say it out loud.

Robbie and I's relationship is still intact. He seems to be making more of an effort for me now, which is nice but when you have someone like Y/N who leaves roses on your windscreen under your wipers of your car, his romantic gestures seem so... fickle. We haven't had sex for nearly a whole month now, much to his despair. I told him I was insecure and therefore didn't want to undress for him or do anything with him. That was a substantial lie considering Y/N made me feel so confident in my body and generally with myself.

Turns out I'm not as straight as I thought I was.

Who cares? I won't be labelling myself any time soon.

At 6pm I heard a honk outside. She was honking at me like it was prom night, cheesy. I left my house, locking the front door behind me before my eyes laid on the red car in front of me. It was fancy. Very fancy.

"Did you seriously rent a car for tonight?" I asked, peeping my head down to look through the window. She was dressed better than I could've imagine. It wasn't her usual effortless style but instead she looked as though every piece was newly bought and thought out. I appreciated her effort and it didn't go unnoticed.

"Yes, I rented a car for one night." Her voice dripped with sarcasm. My eyebrow cocked as I opened the heavy door and sat inside. The interior was freshly cleaned and it smelt like the black ice air freshener my dad would buy every month for his Chevrolet.

"This is my most recent completed project." She boasted, wiping her hand across the wood parts of the interior. "All. By. Myself." She said proudly. I couldn't help but smile as I watched her, she looked at it as thought it was her child... she probably called it that as well.

"A Mustang... impressive"

"It's not JUST a 'Mustang'. " She starts, mimicking my voice which earns her a playful slap to the arm.

"It's a Ford Mustang from 1969, Boss 429 edition in Candy Apple Red. It has rare 820-S NASCAR engine; you don't understand how much it set me back"

Once she started, she couldn't stop. She talked about all the fine details she had added to the car before I cut her off with a kiss. The simplest of kiss seemed to give me all of her attention, she was so easy.

"Don't get me wrong, I could listen to you speak about the things you love for hours but I'm really hungry and I didn't wear this just to be lectured about your toy."

Y/N looked at the restaurant as though it was an alien space ship. She looked around like a toddler at Disney land, which of course I found adorable. There was nothing she could do that I wouldn't adore... except for when she screams at the TV like the actors can hear her. That drives me mad. Oh, and you would think because she likes cars that she would be a good driver but she must've been taught by someone under the influence of VERY strong alcohol.

Other than that, she's a dream.

We sat and ordered our wine. I insisted on the Château Bélair-Monange Red Wine, Y/N was appalled by the $206.11 price tag.

"Can we get a bottle of the Château Bélair-Monange Red Wine" I could tell Y/N was impressed by my French, she starred at me like I had told her I was the Queen of England.

"Actually, can we just get a bottle of the Château Lab- This one" She interjected as the waiter began writing my wine down. I shook my head a pressed my lips together to contain my laughter as she tried to copy my French I had just spoken but she gives up and just points to it on the menu.

" No, baby. My treat. We will have the Bélair-Monange"

After little persuasion and my foot, in my high heel, sliding up her leg under the table, she didn't oppose and accepted defeat.

The food was delicious as it always is here. We ordered a sharing platter and four of the Tapas dishes to share, it was more than enough.

I was full by the time I got to my Tapas dishes and only managed to eat one of them but Y/N wasn't one to shy away from food. She finished nearly all of it, besides the olives which she consistently fake gagged at whenever I took a bite of one, she looked disgusted in me which was the main area of laughter by this point.

As my wine glass presses to my bottom lip, I watch her follow my movement and we both take a swig of the delicate wine. My eyes locked onto hers as I admired the art in front of me, she looked stunning. As we both set our glasses down and she reached over to pour us another, my phone buzzed in my pocket.

"Excuse me" I whispered as I took my phone from my pocket and looked to it.

My heart dropped and my lips parted as I looked at the image I had received.

"Who is it?" Y/N asked innocently, finishing the bottle of wine as it filled our two glasses.

The world seemed to move in slow motion as I looked at the image from Robbie. This perfect night just turned into a nightmare.

Robbie ❤

Our iCloud photos sync, what the fuck is this?!

Who are you sending these to because I'm definitely not getting them.

A picture I had sent to Y/N one night was plastered on my screen. It was a naked picture I took in her apartment mirror when she was working a late shift at the club. The caption wrote "La Lace is more important than me?"

Robbie ❤

What the fuck is La Lace?

Who's fucking apartment were you at?!

Are you their now.

The text messages continued to flood in as I swiped the picture off my screen so I didn't have to look at it anymore. My face went pale as I looked up to Y/N who then began to worry. She reached over to grab my hand as my heart felt like all the blood from it had been drained. He knew.

I couldn't speak, no words seemed to be able to describe what had just happened.

"I have to go"

I couldn't let her leave, not after it looked like she had just had the shock of a life time. I reached for her arm, but embarrassingly I missed and fell forward onto the table. She walked out, purse in her hand and her phone in the other. She marched outside. I fumbled with my wallet and placed all of my cash onto the table, I don't know how much was there but it was more than enough for the food and the wine.

I followed behind her, finally catching up to her panicked walk as she made her way to my car.

"What's going on? Lizzie, please." I pleaded as she made a B-Line to my car. I couldn't hear her crying which was either good or really bad.

"Stop!" I demand grabbing her arm, this time actually making contact with her which stops her in her tracks. She turns to me, her purse dropping to the floor as she shoves her phone into my chest. She hadn't spoken a word, as soon as I looked at her phone I understood why.

"Holy shit." I mumbled, realising I have been staring at her phone for a few beats now, I look up to see her walking to my car again.

"I'm not letting you go home" I said, now worrying about her safety. I didn't know of him to be violent but that can all change, especially when you have just confirmed your wife is cheating on you.

"I have to go home. I have to!" She shouts back at me. The phone in my hand begins to buzz, Robbie was calling. "Give me my phone." She demands. I'm taken aback by her tone, especially considering I didn't see it as a big of a deal as she did.

"This is the perfect opportunity to break things off with him. Why are you wanting to go back to him?"

"Y/N you wouldn't understand." She undermines me.

My eyes widen and my eyebrows raise as I scoff.

"I'm right here, Elizabeth. If you make me drive you home, I won't be here for when you come crawling back." I think I made myself clear. I wouldn't be messed around like this. The thought of her wanting to go home to her husband and leave me, broke my heart. She would choose him over me, tonight of all nights.

"Don't say that" She starts to sob.

"You don't like that you can't have the both of us, is that it?! You're really debating on who you want to be with right now?!" My voice raised to a shouting level as I began losing any kind of compassion I had for her situation.

"I don't know what I want!" She shouts back through tears.

"I'll make the decision for you then." I mutter as I walk past her, shoving her phone into her chest, the same way she did to me, Robbie still trying to call her.

My car starts up and I drive off, leaving her outside the restaurant we just had a magical night at.

I was done playing her little game.

She left. Just like that.
