When Brendon Urie had taken the internship at one of the biggest software firms in the US, RedEye, he hadn’t expected that all he would really do was bring coffee at meetings. He had expected to really learn something new about the way that the firm made their software, or just how they worked, but all that he had learned so far, was how everyone liked their coffee.

“Urie, we’re all ready for our coffee now, where is it?” Jenkins, one of the guys of the security systems department, asks and Brendon gets up from the small desk that had been assigned to him. It was about half as big as the other guys of the department had.

“I’ll go and get it.”

Brendon knew better than to tell the others to go and make the coffee themselves because he was already being bullied and he knew that it would only make it worse.

And so he just walks to the canteen and grabs 8 cups.

When he walks back, he realizes he’s learned two things, the first one being how everyone liked their coffee and the second thing was that he learned how to balance a tray with 8 cups of coffee on one hand.

“Urie’s here with our coffee,” Jenkins says and he grabs the cookies that he always had in his drawer and gives everyone one. Well, everyone except for Brendon because Brendon was still just an intern.

Brendon just goes back to answering dull e-mails and works for a while, until the head of the department, Johnson, comes in and walks up to Brendon’s tiny desk.

“Urie, I have a meeting with some guys from another company and we still need someone for the coffee and tea.” “And you want me to do that?” “Yes. We can’t find anyone else, this fast.” “Alright. When do you need me?” “Right now. We’re in conference room one.”

Brendon raises his eyebrows and gets up. Conference room one was always reserved for the most important meetings the company had.

“Alright, sir.”

Brendon walks after his boss and while Johnson goes into the conference room, Brendon walks to the kitchen and makes a big pot of coffee and tea. He also looks in the cupboard and finds a few packs of cookies. He just arranges them onto a few plates and sets the plates and pots on the cart.

When he walks into the conference room, no one really looks up, no one except for one man. The man who looks up is sitting at one of the ends of the table, with a pen and some paper in front of him. He’s leaning back casually, one leg crossed over the other.

Brendon starts to blush as he feels the man look him up and down and he just continues to put the plates on the table, before asking everyone what they want to drink and handing it to them.

“Sir, do you want anything to drink? We’ve got coffee, tea and water,” Brendon asks the man, as he comes to the end of the table and he looks at him, taking in how beautiful he really looks.

He has stormy blue eyes and slightly messy brown hair. The way he smiles makes Brendon blush again and he waits for the man to answer.

“I’ll have a cup of coffee.” “Alright, sir.”

Brendon pours the man a cup of coffee and offers him a cookie, with a friendly smile on his face.

“There you go, sir.” “Thank you, sweetheart.”

The blush on Brendon’s face only gets worse, as the man winks at him and he steps back, looking around to see if there are any empty cups that he needs to refill.

He tries ignoring the man as much as possible because he’ll only start blushing more and more, if he keeps looking at the man.

After a while, he sees the man motions for him to come and Brendon walks up to him.

“Yes, sir?” “Could you maybe show me where the toilets are?” “Of course, sir.”

The man gets up and smiles at his associates.

“If you’ll just excuse me for a minute, I’ve got to go use the bathroom.” “Of course, Mr. Weekes. I think Mr. Urie will show you the way.”

Brendon gives the man a friendly smile again and gestures for him to follow.

As soon as the door of the conference room closes, the man, Mr. Weekes, looks at Brendon, with a smirk on his face.

“So, what brings such a handsome young man like you here, bringing around coffee?” He asks and Brendon just shrugs.

“I’m actually an intern, but apparently that means the same as coffee lady now.” “Oh, you poor thing. You know… You don’t have to work here, if you don’t want.” “Well, it’s a paid internship and I am kind of tight on money, right now. But alright, the toilets are right here, sir.” "I don’t really have to go to the toilet, I just needed some quiet, so I could talk with you.” “Oh, sir… I am sure that the things you were discussing with the others is far more important than me.” “Hmm… That’s just business, I don’t think it’ll suddenly disappear.” “Neither will I, sir.” “Please, just call me Dallon.”

Dallon smiles at Brendon, who starts blushing again.

“But as I said before, you don’t have to work here, if you don’t want to.” “Dallon… I don’t understand. I need the money.” “Look, let me take you out for dinner, tonight.” “What?” “I want to take you out for dinner, tonight.”

Brendon feels slightly weirded out by Dallon and he just shrugs.

“Come on, pretty boy.” “I… I… Fuck it, why not?” “Good. Here’s my number, please text me your address and I’ll come and pick you up.”

Dallon hands Brendon his business card, before he starts walking back to the conference room, leaving Brendon behind all flustered and a blushing mess.
