Chapter 48 - The future one wants. The future one gets.
--------------
-----Kakashi's Pov... Enter evil smile here >:) ------------
I stared at the door that harmony had just closed before looking at Jiriya, silently asking him what in the hell just happened?! He saw the look I gave him and looked back at the door, his face reflecting curiosity... And admusment?
"I guess that even she can be pushy when she wants to be." He said, saying it like he was talking about someone else.
~~~~ Flash back ~~~~~~~
"Gai." Harmony sighed as Gai, who was dragging Tsunade-sama to the door, got close to her. "Tell Lee that I wish him all the best and I will come and visit him tomorrow, okay?" She told him with a smile, making him nodded frantically before practically dragging Obasan out of the room, letting the door swing shut behind thee. I watched her as her smile that I use to see all the time faded the moment the door closed, she even hopped down, and couldn't stumbled a little, then unsteadily walking over to one of the chairs that was beside me bed, her hand on her forehead and her eyes unfocused.
"Harmony, are you okay?" I asked her when she sat down, reaching out slightly out of worry, but freezing when she glared, sending hate filled kunia's at me though her amber eyes. I bit back a sigh of disappointment as I slowly retracted my hand when she looked down again, away from me like I wasn't even worth looking at.
"I'm okay. Something like this has been happening a lot for the past month, but it's no big deal, it be over in a min-" She stopped mid-word and yawned, shocking me. For all the years that I had ever known her she never yawned. You have to sleep to yawn. "I am... Really... Okay... I'm just... A litt-YANW!-tle... tired." With each word she said she seemed to drift off, fighting to keep her eyes open until after she finished talking she fell asleep, breathing silently.
"Looks like she really wore herself out worrying." Jiraiya said when he too noticed Harmony was fast asleep. "Good thing too. Stubborn girl. Hasn't given herself enough time to heal.... Physically and mentally."
"What do you mean?" I asked him, still looking at Harmony.
"He means that Harmony is an idiot to not have fallen asleep and making me knock her out." Harmony said with her head bent over, her hair obscuring her face, only, that voice didn't fell like it belonged to Harmony, even though it was the same. Jiraiya simply leaned back in his chair and looked over at his niece.
"Oh, so you are able to do that as well. If I don't say myself, you have perfect timing, Kyko-chan." Harmony finally lifted her head and looked at him with a scowl.
"Of course I have perfect timing! I see everything she sees! I'm not as stupid as that little bitch thinks I am. And don't add chan to the end of my last name. It sounds like you are making a move on me, you Perverted Sage."
"How dare you insinuate that I, Master Jiriaya would try and make a move on someone you shared a mind with my beloved niece."
"Oh I dare. Wouldn't put it past you. Hehehe... Also, just letting you know, my real body is killer, and I also look about 30."
"Really? Well then how about-" That was where I couldn't take it anymore and had to cut him off, three words running through my mind during the conversation. 'What. The. Hell?!'
"Would someone like to explain to me what is going on here? Who's Kyko? And why are you talking like this Harmony?" Harmony then turned to look at me, her amber eyes now midnight black with a satin smirk on her lips. Whoever this was, she was not Harmony. I narrowed my eyes. "Who are you and why have you taken control of Harmony's body?"
"Fast deduction skills you got there, it took you less than a second to realise i was your precious Harmony. To answer your first question. The name I now go by is Suteki Kyko." She calmly held out her hand, expecting me to shake it, but all I wished was for one of my many kunias that where in my weapon pouch, that where being stored somewhere else in the hospital. When she saw that I wasn't taking her hand she retracted it but still smiled. "And I only took over her body so she could get some rest for once. I may have finally convinced her to start sleeping again, but that doesn't mean she willingly all the time. She's going to drive herself to the ground... And don't you even dare think about using your borrowed sharingan on me Lover Boy. All you will be doing will be hurting Harmony's conscious. I'm no threat to you; I simply am here to... push someone to hurry up." Har-, no Suteki then looked over at Jiriaya with a glare that she was previously aiming at me when I was gathering chakra and opening my eye slowly.
"Hey! I was planning on telling him after Harmony left."
"Was that before or after taking a quick peak at the hot springs?" She asked him before snapping her head back at me, pointing a finger close to my face. "Again Lover Boy!! Quit trying to activate your damn sharingan when you think I'm not paying attention! It's downright insulting! I know people have to be cautious around me, but this is ridiculous. Next time you begin gathering chakra I will not hesitate to put a damn senbon in the left eye that the Uchiha boy, Obito, gave you!"
To prove her point she moved her hand a little a away from my face, but the moment she did one of Harmony's signature ice senbons appeared on her hand, the tip hovering dangerously in front of me. "You don't stand a chance against me, even in this form. Its a hundred years too soon for you to even think about challenging me." After that she glared at me for a few seconds, waiting to see if I was going to try anything before sitting back into her seat with a triumphant smile. Nothing that was going on was making any sense.
"Form? And how do you know about Obito?" I hesitated to ask her. The smile she was wearing did not seem to be one to be showed on Harmony's face... In simple words, it creeped me out.
"Simple. I know everything about Harmony-chan'" She said, emphasizing the chan on her name and shrugging off the leather jacket she was wearer, showing the light grey tank top she wore underneath and flipping it over to it hand on her right shoulder, leaving her left arm bare. "I know what she thinks, sees, feels, hears and smells. So of course I would know her memories. You, Harmony, Rin, Obito, and Minato, A.K.A the forth Hokage, A.K.A. Harmony's unofficial adopted father, A.K.A Naruto blood relative father, where all on a team together till your first mission as a joinin when Harmony gave you that wolf fang necklace. Obito died that same mission and Harmony disappeared, only to re-appear 13 years later... Bloody hell it's humid in here! I swear they are trying to cook us alive in here or something!!" Suteki yelled the last part and began to fan her face with her left hand, looking out the window. I turned to Jiriaya.
"Care to explain what is going on here?" Jiraiya looked over and then back to me.
"Well, I go more into depth later, after harmony is gone so she doesn't know. She'll kill me if she found out I told you, she told me she would."
"Then why are you." He motioned to Harmony/Suteki.
"She said it would be best." My eyes narrowed slightly.
"And who is she?"
"Suteki Kyko, previous name Hoshi Kakureta Merdoi. One of the founders of Harmony's clan..." When he saw the look I was giving him he continued one. "She's the one that went insane, so they sealed her in a flute, the same flute Harmony owned that got destroyed."
"So now I shared her consciousness... But she still won't dye her hair!! Stupid bitch." Suteki turned back to us. "Hey, Lover boy. Maybe when you finally patch this up between the two of you, you could try and convince her to do it! I still think that blue hair with purple tips would look awesome!!! Hehehehehehe- Oh.... Shit... I'm already losing my hold on her." She placed a hand on her forehead and slowly stood up, using her other hand on the chair to support her.
"Already? That didn't take long. You lasted longer when you fought against Kotori." Jiraiya said as he too got up and helped steady her a little more, she flashed him a dangerous look with her midnight coloured eyes.
"Yeah, well that was when both Harmony and I where pissed and wanted to kill the bastard. Also, Harmony was pushed to the brink. Now she is only tired and I forced this, so it's harder to hold on." She told him before taking a step away from him and grabbing the jacket she just took off. Something caught my eye on her left arm right before she covered it, but it was gone to fast to see what it was. "I better get going. And you better tell him everything! Got it?!"
"Hai hai."
"Good." She said before wobbly walking to the door. I waited until she had her hand on the door knob before asking her something.
"Why do you call me Lover Boy?" She gave me a smile, a tired one, but one still full of mischief.
"Because. Like I said, I know all of Harmony's memories, not just the ones of battle, Little Fang."' She said before she slumped forward, just like Harmony did before, but she was still standing. She stood like that for a few seconds before her head was lifted, amber eyes clearly showing confusing on how she got to where she was. She looked at her hand that was on the door handle to the chair that she was sitting me, and then back to the door. I could all most see the question marks float around her as she placed a hand to her forehead, looking deep in thought, but sighed when she dropped it. 'She must have been talking to her.'
"Ummm... Harmony, are you okay?" I asked her. She slowly nodded her head and then opened the door and walked though it slightly so she back was too us.
"Like I said, something like this has been happening to me lately, but it's nothing big. So I'm perfectly okay Hatake. And be glad that I’m not chewing you out right now for thinking you could go up against Itachi. See ya' Ojisan." And without looking at either of us she walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.
~~~~~ End of flash back and straight into Harmony's POV ~~~~~~~
Me and all my friends
We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There's no way we ever could
Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it
So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change
I sang absentmindedly as I drew in my updated journal sitting down on the ground and leaning my back against a tall oak's trunk as the sun's ray shinned though the forest, making all the green leaves have a golden tint to them.
It's hard to beat the system
When we're standing at a distance
So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change
Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want
That's why we're waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change
It's not that we don't care,
We just know that the fight ain't fair
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change
I paused a little then, putting down my pencil and closed my eyes, letting the sound of the creek flood my ears.
And we're still waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
One day our generation
Is gonna rule the population
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change
I opened my eyes what I was done singing and leaned my lead against the trunk so I was looking skyward, my thoughts where both everywhere and jumped, but also empty and calm.
'Pretty song. What where you drawing?' Suteki asked, completely ruining the moment. I sighed that that and lowered my head, for the first time looking to see what I had drawn, and taken back at it. For the past little bit since Suteki has been 'training' me, almost everything I drew where small little objects that I would later try and create out of ice. If i didn't draw that I drew a memory, but this was neither a small thing nor a memory. In the picture stood four people, all mid-twenties, two male and two female, all hooked onto the other in some way, and even though what was in the drawing was real, all four of them where plainly recognizable. In my drawing stood Obito, looking away with a slight blush on his cheek and his goggles now hanging on his neck, one hand rubbing the back of his neck showing the shyness he often tried to hide, but happiness shined in both of his eyes. Rin, smiling the way she use to all ways did, one hand hooked around the arm the Obito was not using looking like the happiest girl on Earth, it was obvious who was the one making Obito blush in such a way. An older version of myself mid laugh, long hair flying around, my one arm slung around Rin's shoulders, and looking up a little to the person who was standing to my right, who just so happened to be Kakas-Hatake, who was looking down equally at me, on arm wrapped around my waist, a smirk hidden but clearly seen behind his mask and his head band no longer covering his left eye, which had no trace of red in it and was holding my other hand in his. Each person was draw in such detail it almost made them look alive, and what every they were feeling was clearly showed in their eyes.
I stared at my what if drawing for a little bit before I slammed my journal shut, my cheeks slightly tinted from recognizing the look the last two shared. It was not a look of hate, that's for sure.
'Are you sure you hate him?' She asked me, an implying tone in her voice, I shook my head rapidly, clearing the image and trying to reduce the heat on my cheeks.
"Yes. I do."
'The picture you just drew would say else wise, Harmony-chan.'
"It's a stupid what if picture Suteki. What if Obito hadn’t died that day and what it you hadn't stopped my time. What would have happen to the four of us? That is what the picture is trying to solve, but Obito did die and my time did stop, so that got thrown out of the window. Besides, Rin was interested in Hatake. Even if the events turned out different that day I wouldn’t have stopped her at trying to get his attention."
'Suuuuure."
"Do I detect a hint of sarcasms in there Suteki?" I asked her, in a joking way, but also very serious. Well, how would you feel i an insane person was being sarcastic with you?
'Nope!!! Hehehehehehe.... None what's so ever... Hehehehe.' Even though she was trying to fool me, her giggles where a dead giveaway. I sighed and stood up, leaving my journal on the ground and stretched a little bit from sitting down too long. 'I wonder how long it's going to take Naruto to come here. I've been waiting for a good hour- Here he comes.' I thought to myself when I heard the sounds of footsteps. It wasn't until I saw his blonde hair and orange outfit that I called out.
"How many bowls of ramen did you end up making Iruka pay for after the money I gave you ran out?"
"Hey! I didn't eat that much!!" He said when he saw me, I raised an eyebrow.
"I didn't ask how much you ate; I ask how much you made Iruka pay for. I need to make sure how much I have to pay him back tomorrow."
"Oh.... Uh.... He paid for another two bowls of miso ramen with extra pork." He replied with a stupid grin and starched the back of his head... 'Exactly like Obito in my photo.' I thought to myself and felt a pain in my heart, but I quickly covered it up when I saw him lowering his hand and had a worried look on his face.
"Tsk. You really are such a glutton otouto. You're going to end up bleeding me dry one day!" I told him, but slung my arm over his shoulder. In responses he punched me in the side, making me shove him, resulting in an all-out wrestling match. Which I won.
"You're a 100 years to young thinking you can beat me Naruto. Even though I don’t wear the vest, I am a full-fledged chuunin while you are a lowly genin." I told him with a grin as I pinned him face down on the ground, me sitting on his back, holding both of his arms, keeping his legs pinned with only one foot.
"Let go of me Harmony!!" he called out, but there was a smile in his voice. I laughed a shook my head.
"Not until you say uncle!!!"
"Never!!" I smirk when he said that and with my spare hand began tickling his sides, making him squire with laughter.
"Still not going to say anything?" Asked him as he struggled, trying to contain his laugher and get out of my hold.
"Haha... NE- haha-VER!!" He yelled at me, only making me increase the intensity of the tickles, making him laugh even more. "Hahaha- STO-hahah-P!! PLE-HAHAHAH-ASE!!! HAHAHA!! UNCLE!!!Hahaha!!! I sai-hahahah-d UNC-hahahah-LE!!!" I could barely hear what he was saying with him laughing so much, but I let go and got off of him after he had said uncle, letting him just lay on the ground, panting and laughing.
"That should teach you to never underestimate your opponents." I told him, unconsciously touching my second 'tattoo.' "If you do, it could turn out quite fatal... Costing the life of either yourself or someone close to you..."
"... Is that the reason why you and Kakashi-sensei are no longer friends, because one of you did something to cost someone their life?" Naruto asked me, his voice now completely calm and serious. I was taken back by how un-Naruto it was. It took me a few seconds to process before I answer him.

But now we focus on a young man who has earned the ire of a Centurian colony and a powerful half-Fae named Jormungrand. This young man has chosen the name for himself as B.
