《Melody of Time -Naruto-》Chapter 23 - Shit! A mini him!! O.o

Sorry about the wait, I took a break for the first week of school... But now I am back to writing and I don't plan on taking any other breaks soon! Plus my internet kept on crashing so that also contributed to the wait.
I was really looking forward to this chapter, mostly because of one creepy guy, or Gai....
I don't own Naruto, or the original plot, only Harmony and Nala, or any other character I may or may not make.
ANYWAY!!! On to the story!!!
--------
Chapter 23-
Shit! A mini him O.o
---------
My eyed was twitching with irritation as I waited for Kakashi with the rest of my team. I thought that because today Kakashi was going to tell everyone about the chunin exams, he would arrive on time, so I made sure that I did, I was even early! I looked over and saw that Sakura was about to blow so I went to the other side of the bridge and jumped onto one of those red thingys that are on the bridge. I sat down once I landed and watched as Sakura got ready to yell. Sakura went off about this shouldn't be allowed, and how she over slept and didn't have time to blow-dry her hair. Naruto agreed with her, saying that he too, overslept, and didn’t have time brush his teeth or change his underwear. My eye twitched again.
"That's gross." I said to Nala, who was sitting right beside me
'Why does everything have to be so intense with those two?' She said back. I shrugged my shoulders and began humming a song to pass the time.
"Morning people!!" Kakashi said when he finally arrived, about two hours late. I looked up to see that he was crouched on the top part of the red thing-y I was sitting on. "Sorry, today I got lost on the road of life."
"YEAH RIGHT!!! LIAR!!!" Naruto and Sakura yelled at him. I sighed and jumped off the red thing-y, closely followed by Kakashi.
"Well, anyway, this is sudden, but... I've nominated you guys for the chunin selection exam." Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura gave him a surprised look.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" Sakura yelled, looking kinda mad for some reason.
"YOU THINK THAT MAKES UP FOR-" Kakashi cut off Naruto by holding out four forms.
"Here are your applications." Naruto jumped onto Kakashi and gave him massive hug.
"Kakashi-sensei!! I love you!!"
"Hey! Don't drool on my vest!" Kakashi said, trying to get Naruto off of him. I simply walked over to them and poked Naruto in the side, effectively making Naruto let go of Kakashi and fall to the ground.
"Hey!" He yelled from the ground. I flashed him an innocent smile and took my application sheet from Kakashi and took a few steps back to where Sakura and Sasuke were.
"Though this is just a nomination. Whether to take the exam is up to each of you." Kakashi said when everyone got their own applications. "Those who wish you take it should sign those papers and turn them in at room 301 by 4pm tomorrow. That is all." Kakashi said as he disappeared. I looked down at my form. And let out a small laugh. 'Heh, a chunin taking the chunin exams...'
"HeHe HeHe! Chunin exams!! Chunin exams!" Naruto chanted as we were walking off the bridge. "There's going to be a lot of strong guys at this thing." I could tell that Naruto was now going off on a rant in his head about winning the exam and becoming Hokage, or something, so I slowed down my pace so I was walking behind everyone so I could strategize with Nala.

'So I know that they won't let me be on the same team as these three, so we will most likely be your own team... The written exam will be a cinch, seeing as I already written and passed that one...'
'But what about the second one, The Forest of Death?' I had already told Nala every part of the exam, so she knew that the second one was the one to really worry on.
'We will have to let them beat it on their own and not help them. I am only meant to see how strong these genins are getting, and to see if anything happens that is not supposed to... But I guess if something DOES happen, we would have no choice but to jump in and intervene.' Nala nodded her head in understandment.
'What about the third exam? If you pass it, we would have to fight someone. It could give away who you really are...'
'We'll think of something when the time comes, okay?' I looked down at Nala, giving her a small wink. I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking, so I walked right into the back of someone.
"Sakura! What's wrong, why aren't you walking with the other two?" I asked her when I realized who I walked into. Sakura was sadly looking down at her form, but them quickly looked up at me, and put on a cheery smile.
"Oh it's nothing Harmony! I just can't wait for the chunin exams and all!!" She said her voice full of fake happiness. I gave her a small smile and placed a hand on her should.
"You know it's all right to be nervous or scared, but don't ever think that you are not good enough. Yeah the others may have strength, but you have the brains, and for some people, that's all a person needs. Besides, if you do decide to take the exam, I can promise you, you'll do things that will even surprise yourself." With that I took my hand off her should and walked passed her. I looked back slightly to see her still standing there, but I could tell she was now thinking about what I had said to her.
-----------The next day...-----------
We were all waiting for Naruto arrive outside of the building we were supposed to enter. I swear, Kakashi is rubbing off at him. It made me happy that Sakura did decide to take part in the exams, but she still didn't seem sure about coming, but hey! At least she is here!! When Naruto finally came we walked into the building, only to see that there was a major crowd around the door 301, or what the people *cough* Izumo and Kotetsu *cough* made it look like it was door 301. We pushed are way through the ground and saw that one guy dressed in a green jumpsuit was on the floor.
"HAH! You plan to take the chunin exam with that?" "You should quit now." the transformed as a kid Izumo and Kotetsu said to the boy on the ground. I don't know why, but he looked A LOT like someone I use to know as a kid. Shivers crawled down my back when I thought about HIM, and not the good shivers, the shivers you get when you are very, VERY creeped out...
"You're just a kid." the kid Kotetsu said.
"Yeah." the kid Izumo said. One girl walked up to the boy on the ground, must be one of his teammates.

"Please... Let us through..." She said in a pathetic tone, which to me sounded fake. She walked up to Izumo and Kotetsu, only to get slapped really hard. She fell to the ground near her teammate. I heard someone in the back whisper 'Horrible.' I smirked. 'If you think that is horrible, you better turn around and leave, because that is nothing compared to what else happens in this exam.'
"What did you say?" Kotetsu asked when he heard that guy. "Listen ..."
"This is our kindness." Izumo finished for him. "The chunin exam isn't easy... Even we have failed it 3 times." 'That is every true, it did take them three tries each to beat it...'
"Those that take this exam and end up quitting as shinobis, those that die during the exam, we've seen it all." Kotetsu said after Izumo. "We are just thinning out those that will fail anyway. What's wrong with that?" I walked up to Izumo and Kotetsu and helped the boy in the jumpsuit off the ground. I flashed him a smile, but then turned to Kotetsu and Izumo with a superior smirk.
"I agree with that... but you will let me pass thought... and also remove this surrounding created with genjutsu. I know you want to weed out all the weak ones, but you have to let some pass, or there'll be no exam." I said to them I gave as small laugh as everyone else in the room, looked confused. "Oh and nice transformation jutus, Izumo and Kotetsu." I said quietly to the two of them. The two of them shared a look and gave me a devilish smirk.
"Harmony is right; we are going to the 3rd floor." Sasuke said as he walked up beside me.
"So you noticed..." Izumo said to Sasuke. Sasuke nodded.
"Sakura, you must have noticed it first right?" Sasuke said to Sakura, making her confused. "You analytical ability and genjutsu know-how is the most improved on our team." I gave him a small smile.
"And besides, you have the most brains on the team, so you must have noticed it even before I did." I said to her, trying to make her feel more confided about herself. She looked down at the ground.
"Thank you, Sasuke-kun, Harmony." She said quietly before she raised her head with a determined look. "Of course, I noticed a while ago. Because this is only the second floor." Naruto nodded his head in agreement, but knowing him, he just did it so he didn't look stupid. I looked up at the sign that said 301 and saw that it now said the right number, 201.
"Hmm... Not bad. But all you did was... See through it!!" Kotetsu said before he tried round house kick Sasuke. Sasuke lifted his own leg to defect his kick when all of a sudden the boy wearing the jumpsuit was standing in-between them, stopping bother their kicks with his bare hands.
'He's fast... He was able to see both kicks and slide himself in between. This is....’
'He's completely different from the person that was getting knocked to the ground earlier.' I finish for Nala. The boy in the jumpsuit stood up and another boy with pale, pulpilless eyes walked up to him.
"Hey, what happened to the plan? You're the one who said we shouldn't draw attention to ourselves." 'A Hyuga boy, I wonder if he's Hizashi's kid. He was expecting a child soon when I disappeared, so it might be possible...' I watched as the Hyuga boy talked to the jumpsuit guy. He looked over at us and blushed a little. His other teammate, the girl, looked at him and shook her head at him before he walked over to us, and thankfully, to Sakura.
"Hi, my name is Rock Lee, and you are Sakura..." He said to her before he gave her a thumbs up and smiled with a sparkle. I shivered again. 'Just like HIM!!'
"Please be my girlfriend!! I'll protect you 'til I die!!" Sakura pulled a face.
"Umm... No way... You're lame..." She said to him. I walked up to Sakura.
"Harsh much..." I said to her in a disapproving tone.
"No! W-What I m-mean i-is!! H-He's not! I m-mean!" She fumbled over her words trying to explain herself; I laughed and put a hand on her shoulder.
"Ha-ha, it's all right! I am just pulling your leg. If his not your type, he's not your type. Let's just hope that he will get the hint and stop bugging you. But by the looks of him, not is not going to happen any time soon..." I looked at Lee and saw that he was giving me a weird look. I dropped my hand that was on Sakura's shoulder and gave him an awkward wave.
"Ummmm... Hi? My name is Harmony Kakureta Merodi. You said your name is Lee, right?" I said in a politely and held out my hand to shake. I was surprised when Lee grasped my hand within both of his.
"Harmony!! What a beautiful name for such a beautiful angel!! Please be my girlfriend, I promise to protect you with my life!!" He said to me. I sweat drop and slowly pulled my hand away.
"Ummmm... Thank you? That is really nice of you, but right now I am not really looking for a relationship with anyone, sorry. How about friends for now." I said to him when I finally got my hand back. Lee looked at me with fire in his eyes.
"Yosh! I promise to you Harmony that I will win your heart sooner or later my angel!!!" Lee said to me. I waved my hand back and forth in front of me.
"No! It's all right!! Really! I am not the right person for you! I mean, uh... Sakura is and I wouldn't want to intervene in that!!" I said without thinking. I turned my head and saw that Sakura was giving me a death glare.
"Really?" He asked. I swallowed in fear and turned to him.
"Of course?" I said to him slowly. "Ow!!!!" I rubbed my head were a new lump was forming thanks to Sakura. "I thought you only did that to Naruto and Konohamaru Sakura!" I wined. Sakura huffed and raised her fist.
"What was that Harmony? I didn't quite get that." Sakura said in a deadly tone. I gulped and took a step away from her and looked around to see if I could find something to distract her. I found the perfect thing... Sasuke.
"Oh look! There's Sasuke! Let's go see what he is doing!!" I grabbed her and Naruto's hand and pulled them close to where he was. We were only a few feet away from Sasuke and the Hyuga boy he was talking to, but I could tell this was not a conversation we should interrupt.
"When you want to learn someone's name, you should give your first." Sasuke said. I could only guess that the Lee's teammate. The Hyuga boy asked for his name.
"You're a rookie right? How old are you?"
"I don't have to answer you." Sasuke said back before they turned around and Sasuke was now facing us. I could see a small smirk on his face.
"Naruto, Sasuke-kun!! Let's go!!" Sakura said before she pulled them both away. I stood there for a little bit before I realized I was alone with the rest of the glaring group of genins. I gave them all I small wave and flashed stepped to were the rest of my team was. It took me a bit to find them, but when I did I saw that they were standing in a hallway, and Lee was there too.
"My name is Rock Lee. When you want to learn a person's name, you introduce yourself first right? Sasuke Uchiha"
"Heh, so you know." Sasuke said to him. 'What is going on here?"
"I want to fight you." Lee said as he stood up, because before he was semi-crouching. 'Never mind, it's just a pointless fight... again.' "I want to test my techniques against the survivor of the Uchiha clan. Plus..." I watched as Lee's cheeks got colour with blush and he looked over to Sakura, he then winked at her. I watched as Sakura freaked out about how disgusting it was to her and burst out laughing. I guess they didn't know I was there because they all jumped and looked in my direction. I gave them a small wave as I tried to control my laughing fit.
"Hey... HHAHAAH.... guys!!" I said to all of them.
"Harmony!! Where were you?!" I heard Naruto yell and I jumped over the railing from the second floor that I was on and landed near then, well by accident I landed closer to Lee, but I quickly fixed that by walking over to my team. Sakura was still shivering in disgust, so I laughed again.
"Oh my god Sakura, I know that must have been painful, but that was TO FUNNY!!" Sakura glared at me before muttering something about thick eyebrows.
"Harmony!! My angel!!" 'Oh no...' I turned around to see Lee sending me an air kiss. I screamed and quickly dodged it.
"You are good, but try and dodged these!" Lee said before he sent in rapid fire little heart winks at me. I screamed again and kept on dodging them. One got so close that I had to bend over backwards and ended up hitting my head on the floor. Luckily it sailed right above me and landed in the wall behind me. 'That was to close! I thought I convince him to go after Sakura!!' I slowly stood up panting and saw that Sakura was now laughing at me. I turned to Lee.
"HEY DON'T THROW WERID HEART THINGS AT ME!! I barely escaped with my life. I thought I told you already that I wasn't interested and that you should find someone else!!" I yelled at him, but he ignored me and gave me a thumbs up and smiled with his teeth flashing.
"I have decided Harmony! I will win your heart over no matter what!! You are an angel sent from above!!!" Lee said to me. I looked at him and then ran and hid behind Naruto.
"Please don't let the scary freak come near me!!" I whisper to him. I expected him to laugh, but his eyes were burning with anger. 'Shit, his mad about Sasuke getting challenged and not him... If I know him, he is going to do something stupid and move, then I won't have anyone to be my human shield!!'
"Challenging me knowing the Uchiha name... Frankly, you're a fool." Sasuke said. "You're about to learn what this name means, Rock Lee."
"Please." Lee said mockily as he got into a taijutsu stance. Sasuke too got into a stance. I peeked from behind Naruto shoulders. I know I am taller than him, so I was semi-crouched.
"Wait." Naruto said. I looked up, scared for my life. 'Please don't do what I think you're going to do! Please don't! If you do, no shield to kept mini-him away!!'
"I'll take care of bushy brows. Give me 5 minutes." 'Damn he did. Now I need a new shield!" I ran over to Sasuke and hid behind him.
"Who I wish to fight is not you... It's Uchiha."
"Damn it!! I'm sick of hearing about Sasuke!!" Naruto yelled as he took off at Lee. Now most of the time I would have ran in and stopped all of this, but I really did not want to put my life on the line right now, sooooooo...
Naruto ran at Lee and tried to punch him, but Lee merely pushed him to the ground. Then Naruto tried to kick him, but Lee did something so fast, it sent Naruto spinning like a top across the room.
"Leaf Hurricane!" I said from behind Sasuke, but I don't think anyone was paying attention to me.
'Enough with being such a wimp Harmony! If he does anything, I'll right here with you!' Nala said to me. I looked at Sasuke to Sakura to Lee to Naruto and sighed. 'I know. I know.' I stood up fully and walked around Sasuke so I was standing beside him. I had forgotten that Nala was beside me the whole time. She was so quiet! It's not like her.
"I'll say this. You guys cannot defeat me. Because I am the strongest Leaf genin." Lee said. Nala nudged my leg with her giant large dog sized head.
'Hey, want to show him who REALLY is the strongest?' She asked me. I gave her a look and slowly shock my head. 'I'm here to see how strong ALL the genins are this year. I can't give away who I am before it even begins.'
"Sounds fun, I'll do it." Sasuke said to Lee.
"Sasuke don't. We only have 30 minutes to get to the meeting." Sakura said to try stop him but it didn't work.
"I'll be done in 5 minutes." Sasuke said before taking off at Lee, with Sakura calling out his name in a fan-girly way.
'Is it just me, or did he just repeat what Naruto said before?' I nodded my head.
"Yeah, sometimes I think he does that on purpose just to make it seem cooler coming from him..." I said without thinking out loud as I watched Lee and Sasuke start fighting. Lee had suddenly jumped up and tired kick Sasuke.
"Leaf spinning wind!!" Lee cried out. Sasuke must have seen what he was going to do, because he ducked as Lee's foot soared over his head, but then Lee changed where his foot was when coming around so it was lowly so it would hit Sasuke and he would have no time to dodge. It looked like Sasuke was going to try and block it, but then he got sent flying across the room.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
