《Back to You | ✓》Epilogue

A little over a year later, and Sebastian and Mia were finally tying the the knot.

They hadn't planned on waiting that long, however since Sebastian had taken over the CEO position of Cater, things had become a little more hectic for the couple. A couple of months ago, Mia had also become a marketing executive at the company, which ended up taking quite a bit of her time too.

However, they both then decided to take a break from all the work and got serious about their wedding pans, since they didn't want to wait any longer to be married.

Currently, she stood in her bridal gown, holding her wedding bouquet in her hand, calla lilies tied up neatly with a satin ribbon.

The white gown of hers, felt like it fit her better than anything she'd ever worn before. Even better than that red dress of her, that Sebastian had bought for her, before he proposed. This was it. This was the one.

It felt perfect. She felt like perfection.

The top of the gown, was a high-halter neckline, accented with a pearl and crystal beads and a frosted-lace design, providing the dress with a sense of delicacy. With a sleeveless bodice, it covered her modestly enough, whilst providing tasteful peeks of her skin. It had an A-line, tulle ball gown, which would flow swiftly with Mia every step, matching her movement in sync. Tightened above her waist, it showed off her figure, her curves accentuated in a beautiful manner. The back of it, also had a lace design, however showing more of her skin, and simultaneously completing the whole look.

Her make up was kept to a minimal, a soft and natural look. Apart from her veil, another important accessory Mia had on, were her earrings.

They were the ones that Mia thought she had lost, only to find out Sebastian had unconsciously kept it with him, in his blazer pocket the entire time, when he first found it in the lift a long time ago.

As she waited for her father, Mia couldn't help but look a little sad, twisting her her engagement ring on her finger. It gave her a sense of calm to do so, especially since she knew that Sebastian had engraved his name inside it, to always stay close to her.

Nicole then noticed her expression.

"Mia, stop frowning. You'll ruin your makeup," she lightly scolded.

Instead of this helping Mia, she frowned even more.

"I can't help it. I can't see, Nicole," she responded.

For her big day, Mia decided she would wear contacts, so her face was more visible, as well as her makeup. Unfortunately, one of her contacts fell out, leaving her with only one and no spares. Which meant that her vision was now slightly blurred.

"Why didn't you check if you had contacts?" Nicole asked.

Mia just glared at her maid of honour.

"I did have them, I just lost the left one somewhere," she gritted.

"What about your glasses?" Chloe questioned, with her gentle voice, providing some sort of calm to the situation.

Mia just sighed, holding back the urge to tug on her curls, which had been neatly kept half up and half flowing down her back.

"I left them at Sebastian's, and it's too late to get them," she said sadly.

Nicole then clicked her tongue. "Sucks to be blind," she said and Mia smacked her arm.

"Shut up. I'm not blind," she stated, even though that was a blatant lie.

"You're squinting," Nicole pointed out.

Mia knew that she was squinting a little, but instead of agreeing with Nicole, she glared at her, who then just gave her a grin in return.

Once again, Chloe tried to play peacemaker.

"It's fine, Mia. You don't really need them anyway. I'll ask someone to get them from Sebastian's flat, you'll have them by the reception," she tried to offer some sort of solution.

"I just-I wanted to see clearly for the ceremony," Mia mumbled, but it was clear enough for her friends to hear.

"Why?" Chloe asked, noticing her sad expression.

"Sebastian," Mia said.

Chloe and Nicole look at her in confusion.

She then continued. "I wanted to clearly see his face as I walk down the aisle, not a blur of an expression."

That was the one aspect of the wedding, she was most looking forward to. Both Melissa and her Mum had mentioned it as the best part of their own weddings, and it saddened Mia that she wasn't going to be able to get the proper experience, all because of her eyesight, or lack thereof.

"Just assume he's happy and smiling," Nicole said, with a shrug and Chloe shook her head.

"You suck," Mia scowled and childishly sticking out her tongue at Nicole, who then rolled her eyes.

"And swallow baby. Now, come on," she retorted and both Chloe and Mia scrunched up their face in disgust.

"Gross Nicole," Chloe commented, to which Mia then laughed.

"Oh, grow up," Nicole replied, walking out of the bridal room they were in.

The bridal party reached the church, with Nicole, Chloe and Melissa stood in accordance to their entrance, after which Mia would walk with her dad.

"You look beautiful, sweetheart," Mia's Dad told her, as they stood together.

He had kept repeating it every so often, since he couldn't actually believe his little girl was going to get married.

"Thanks Dad," Mia smiled at him. She caught him looking slightly misty-eyed.

"You ready?" He then asked her, gesturing towards the aisle with a nod, one that they were going to walk down very soon.

She took a deep breath, an attempt to calm her nerves.

"Yeah, I think so. Just a little nervous," she replied, accompanied with a little chuckle.

Mia felt a little silly to be feeling nervous right now. She had been writing for this very moment ever since Sebastian had proposed to her, and even a little bit before then. She knew that he was everything to her, yet she still had those pre-wedding jitters.

Hamish then laughed at his daughters' words. "That's normal, sweetheart. I was a wreck on my wedding day and nearly fainted, when I saw your mum walk down that isle," he told her, shaking his head whilst remembering his own wedding day.

With a small smile on her face, Mia just hummed in reply.

As her Dad, he was quick to notice the change in her mood, especially when Mia looked down and began to fiddle with the ribbon on the bouquet in her hands.

"What's with the frown?" He asked her, gently lifting her chin up with his hand.

"I can't see," Mia mumbled.

Hamish looked at her in confusion.

"What?" He questioned, as he glanced at her eyes, checking if there was something in them that bothered her.

"I dropped one of my contacts and I've left my glasses at Sebastian's," Mia said and her Dad narrowed his eyes.

"Why at his?" He questioned, not liking his daughter's things being at Sebastian's place, let alone his actual daughter.

Mia then gave her Dad a dry look, since this was not the time to be discussing that, not that she ever wanted to anyway. Hamish then quickly snapped back to the situation at hand, when he noticed that look on Mia's face, one that she obviously picked up from her mother.

"Right. We can discuss that later," he said, making a mental note to bring this up with Sebastian.

He then looked to Mia. "Look, sweetheart, I've met the guy, multiple times now. Even when I threatened him, I saw fear in his eyes, but mostly love for you. It doesn't matter what you see, it's what he feels, and I know he feels only love for you," her father told her.

A wide smile formed on Mia's face and she gave her Dad a hug, which he instantly returned.

"Thanks, Dad. You always know exactly what to say," she told him.

"Yeah, well, don't mention this to Sebastian. I'm trying to do the whole intimidating father-in-law thing with him," Hamish replied.

"Noted," Mia grinned at him.

"Now, let's get you married," Hamish grinned, as a music began to play and Mia lowered her veil over her face. As if her eyesight wasn't bad already, it was further hindered by a veil.

Her bridesmaids began their walk down the aisle, all holding onto their flowers, their footsteps in sync with the soft violin music.

When the music changed into a soft melody, Mia gripped her Dad's hand tightly, as he returned the gesture. Excitement and anxiousness built up within her.

All guests had their eyes set on the entrance, waiting for the bride to finally make her appearance, and no one was more impatient than Sebastian.

As soon as Mia began her descent down the aisle, her arm linked within her fathers, Sebastian's heart stopped.

She looked radiant. More beautiful than she'd ever been before, if that were even possible. To him, she was like the embodiment of perfection.

Mia could practically feel everyone's eyes on her, their intense gaze, however their was only one person that she cared about.

Just as she began to take a few steps forward, that one person started walking up the aisle and towards her.

Everyone was completely lost on what was happening, as they watched the groom leave his place at the altar and in long strides, head towards the bride.

Mia halted in her steps and lifted up her veil, as Sebastian walked right up towards her, a wide grin plastered across his face.

"Sebastian? What are you doing?" Mia asked him.

Instead of answering her, he just continued to grin.

Mia, in her wedding gown right now, was the most beautiful sight to him. He just wished the memory to forever remain in his mind and heart, since it was a lot better than he could've ever imagined it to be.

"Hi," Sebastian greeted her casually, as if they weren't just in the middle of their wedding.

"Hi," Mia replied, her eyes still looking at him like he'd lost his mind. "What are-"

"I can't let my girl walk down the aisle, without her clearly seeing my open-mouthed expression at her drop-dead gorgeousness," he told her.

Mia continued to give him a bewildered look, until Sebastian reached into his suit pocket, to bring out what she was sorely missing in this moment.

"My glasses!" Mia exclaimed, and all the guests laughed at her excitement when seeing them.

"How did you-" Mia started to say, as Sebastian gently placed them on her face.

"I love how you look in them," Sebastian smiled and then moved closer to her. "You know what they do to me," he whispered suggestively, causing Mia to blush.

Unfortunately for him, his whisper wasn't low enough since Mia's father also overheard him.

"No, I don't," her father said sternly, staring Sebastian down.

Sebastian looked at him wide-eyed. "Shit. Sorry, sir."

He then turned towards Mia, with a cheeky grin. "See you at the altar, love."

After placing a quick kiss on her cheek, Sebastian jogged back to his original place at the altar.

"He's an idiot," Hamish muttered and Mia couldn't help but chuckle.

"He is," she agreed, now being able to see her future husband a lot more clearly.

He was stood there in his charcoal grey, three-piece suit, white shirt and ice-blue tie, knotted perfectly. His brown shoes, cleaned and polished. She caught a glimpse of his cufflinks, ones that she'd gifted him, engraved with their wedding date.

Most importantly, she saw the expression of pure happiness on his face.

'My idiot,' Mia thought to herself.

"Okay, let's try this again!" Nicole shouted, causing everyone to laugh and the music began to play once more.

Mia didn't bother putting her veil down again, not when she wanted to see her man and the smile that adorned his face.

She began her walk down the aisle once more, her father's arms protectively linked around hers, until she'd reached the altar and he had to let go.

From that moment, Sebastian held her hand and didn't let go, not even when the ceremony started and the priest began to speak.

All that the nearly-wedded couple saw was each other, edging ever so close to married life.

"I believe you both have some promises to give to each other," the priest then spoke.

Whilst planning the wedding, Sebastian and Mia had come up with this idea, to promise each other things they'd do once they would become a married couple. They thought it would be fun to do, and interesting to see who kept up their end of the promises.

With her hand still in his, Sebastian was the first to begin with his set of promises.

"Mia, I promise to take out the garbage, even it's pouring down with rain," he started.

She smiled, biting her inner cheek to keep herself from laughing. He knew how much she detested the rain.

Sebastian could see the amusement in her eyes. "Even though you're the one with long hair, I'll unclog the tub."

A few 'awww' sounds were heard at his words, clearly appreciative female voices.

Ever since they had become a couple and Mia had spent a lot of time with Sebastian, this had become a reason for a playful argument between the two. He hated finding hair all over the place.

Mia shook her head, knowing that it was a big deal for him to make that promise.

"I'll open all the difficult jars, and pretend you loosened it, even though we both know it was me who did it," he then said. He loved giving her mini victories like that.

This promise made Mia's eyes narrow at him, but it was clear she was fighting a smile.

"I promise, to always make you tea whenever you need it," he said and everyone laughed, with Mia shaking her head gently.

Everyone knew that her love for tea, was only second to Sebastian.

He then gently squeezed Mia's hand, a more determined look on his face now, as he began to say his real vows.

"Mia, my brown-eyed girl, I vow to always keep you happy, now and forever. You're so special, so smart, so beautiful and I promise to remind you of that every single day that I continue to breathe. I'll love you more and more, every single day. I cannot wait to call myself your husband," he told her, with a smile that made Mia's heart melt and her eyes pool with tears that she was not ready to let run.

Sebastian expression softened as he looked at Mia. He could tell she was trying so hard not to cry.

The priest smiled before he then turned to Mia, who nodded, ready to start on her set of promises.

"Sebastian, I promise to somehow say all of this without ugly crying," she sniffled, and immediately everyone laughed at that, including Sebastian.

Clearing her throat, she tried to speak once again. "I promise to not hog the blanket at night, or at least try to give you some," she said. Whilst Sebastian laughed, a groan could be heard that was distinctively Mia's Dad.

"I promise not to watch the next episode without you," she told him, with a cheeky grin.

With just that expression, Sebastian knew she was already ahead by a few episodes on the new show that they had just started.

"I will make you coffee, using that machine you insist on keeping and to stop pretending that I don't know how to," Mia said so innocently.

Sebastian playfully scowled at her, realising she'd been playing him this whole time. He had his doubts, this just confirmed it for him.

Mia then continued. "Finally, I promise I'll wear these glasses as often as I can for you," she said, wiggling her brows and Sebastian let out a boisterous laugh.

She then started on her real vows to him.

"Sebastian, you're the love of my life. It definitely was a journey getting here and I'm not scared continuing it, because either way, my destination is you and us being together. All my paths lead back to you, and I wouldn't have it any other way. If you love me, I'll love you forever. I can't wait to be your wife, baby," Mia told him, and surprisingly without a tear being shed.

Unable to hold himself back, Sebastian pulled Mia in for a kiss, as she squealed in surprise.

Blake let out a wolf-whistle, whilst their guests laughed at the adorable antics of the couple.

After Sebastian pulled back from the kiss, with a sheepish grin, the priest continued the ceremony.

"Do you, Sebastian Carter, take Mia Sareen to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The priest asked him, a question he'd be waiting a lifetime for.

Sebastian grinned. "I do, very much so," earning a laugh from Mia.

"Do you, Mia Sareen, take Sebastian Carter to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I do," Mia nodded, a heavy blush creeping up her cheeks, knowing she was just a little moment away from a whole new journey.

"With the power vested in me, I now pronounce you, husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride," the priest announced.

The last word was barely even spoken, as an overeager Sebastian pulled Mia in for a kiss, dipping her at the waist as he did so.

"I love you so much," Sebastian told Mia, resting his forehead against hers.

She grinned back at him.

"I love you too," she replied, resting her hand against his chest, feeling his speeding heartbeat under her palm.

After everything, all the ups and downs, they both somehow found true happiness with each other.
