A workplace romance, was the last thing that both Sebastian and Mia thought they would be involved in together, but now that they were, it just felt so right. They both felt like they were on cloud nine when together. Everything just seemed to be perfect and they were in great place.

However, there was the issue that they weren't able to spend much time together, since their work schedule was getting more hectic recently. It was constantly getting in the way and interrupting their time.

There wasn't long left now, till Sophie was back from her leave. She had asked for a little more time, when there was some kind of 'nanny issue' and Sebastian was more than okay to give her that.

Especially since it meant more time with Mia. Well, that's what he had initially assumed, before all the work got in the way.

The two hadn't even managed to go on a first official date.

They would have lunch together and occasional dinners, but after a tiring work day, it was just too hard. It did not seem date-like at all.

However, the pair thought maybe this wait would make their first official date more special.

Sebastian had something really romantic planned up his sleeve, for their first date together. He was just waiting for the right moment to go through with it.

Although, it seemed like the right moment was taking forever.

Mia sat in her office, completing some remaining work. It was an odd feeling, that she would soon have to leave this room. Apart from stationary and photo frames, there wasn't much that she would have to move anyway. She always knew the office was temporary and she'd have to leave.

Months ago, she would have left the office in a flash, without a second thought. Now, she knew she was going to miss it. She was going to miss her desk, the chair and even the damn intercom, that Sebastian used to bark orders through.

Recently, he would use the device just to complement her randomly. He'd tell her she looked beautiful today, or that he missed her. He was so cheesy and she loved it.

As Mia stared at the intercom, a smile on her face, as she thought what would be the next thing Sebastian would tell her, someone clearing their throat snapped her out of her stupor.

When she looked up, her smile immediately vanished and instead it was replaced by a deep scowl.

There, at the doorway, stood Anna with a smug expression on a face. It was a looked that Mia really just wanted to wipe off, or better yet, smack off.

She really didn't understand how Anna managed to get into the office once again. Especially after the last time. Mia thought she really ought to talk to Moses, down at the lobby, and let him know that Anna wasn't allowed up here.

"Oh, great. You're back," Mia groaned, rolling her eyes.

Her lack of enthusiasm was clearly evident for Anna to see, however, the smug expression on her face didn't waver.

Instead, Anna stepped further into Mia's office and stood right in front of the desk.

"Now, now, little Mia, that doesn't sound so professional," Anna said, her tone condescending.

Mia couldn't help the way her fists clenched in pure anger. She blinked slowly and took a deep breath. There was no way that she was going to give her the satisfaction of a reaction.

She had been through it before, back in high-school. The home of mean-girls. Mia had heard since comments before, about her braces, glasses, unkempt hair and dressing sense. There wasn't anything they would not comment on. They just wanted to make themselves feel better and win.

At that time Mia kept quiet. She never indulged them. They wanted to talk, so they did. It didn't mean she had to listen. A lot like now.

As she stood up from her chair, Mia held a stern expression, locking eyes with Anna and letting her know she wasn't going to be pushed around.

"Look, this is an office. We've had enough drama as it is, so please, don't create another scene and just quietly leave," she said and gestured towards the door.

An innocent look then came over Anna's face, as she jutted out her bottom lip in a pout. "I'm not here to create a scene. I'm just here to talk," she said.

Then, ignoring Mia's request for her to leave, she took a seat on one of the chairs by the desk, and once again her smug expression was back.

"I don't want to talk-"

"-Then listen."

The sinister smile that Anna held on her face, was disconcerting for Mia. She knew that something was wrong. Or there was something about to happen, that would be wrong. However, she pushed that aside and just listened to what Anna had to say, hoping that she'd leave after.

"You might have everyone else fooled with your whole innocent act, but not me," Anna said.

Mia couldn't help but groan once again. She was so tired of hearing the same thing from here, like it were a broken record.

"What are you talking about?" She asked.

Anna just scoffed in response. "See this, this is what I'm talking about-" she gestured at Mia with her hand. "-Pretending to be the innocent little assistant to Sebastian, when in reality, you just wanted him."

She couldn't have been further from the truth, Mia thought. Despite the fact that they were now together, it was never planned. Mia never had any intention of 'stealing' Sebastian away from Anna, in fact, it seemed more like he was more than happy to be hers as it is.

The accusation was complete and utter nonsense to Mia, and she wasn't in the mood to listen to her.

"You're ridiculous" Mia snorted and Anna just crossed her legs in response.

"I heard you went on a little getaway with him as well," she questioned, referring to their Amsterdam trip.

Mia gave her a dry look in return.

"That was for work," she replied.

She didn't really see an actual need to provide Anna with an explanation, or a need to justify herself, but she still responded anyway.

Clearly the woman was an avid stalker anyway, if they left the office for coffee, she'd probably know and be annoyed by that.

Anna let out a loud, mocking laugh in response, and Mia looked at her, wondering if she had truly lost her mind.

Her laughter then abruptly died down. "Right, off to another country, acting like a couple, that was was for work."

"What do you want, Anna?" Mia asked in a bored tone.

She didn't care about her assumptions or accusations. It didn't both her. All she wanted for Anna to get to the point and for her to then leave the office.

"I want Sebastian," Anna stated.

She'd said those words so simply, as if she were asking for loose change.

As she heard this, Mia's blood boiled, a reaction she still wasn't familiar with. She'd only just realised, that she had a jealous side, and it was a little unsettling.

"He's not anyone's possession, and most certainly not yours," Mia gritted out.

'She wanted Sebastian, well too bad,' Mia thought. When she was younger, Mia wanted to be a Amazon princess, and live in the jungle. But clearly, we don't all get what we want clearly.

A scornful look appeared on Anna's face hearing Mia say that.

She had never been used to things being taken away from her, nor was she used to people wanting to leave her. To walk away from her.

It was in high-school, that Anna first began to date. Ever since then, it had always been her to be the one to initiate a break up. No one ever broke up with her. Now suddenly, Sebastian breaking up with her, was like a blow to her pride and ego, and that wasn't something that she could just let go.

"You know, your whole act, I never bought it. Not even for a second," Anna mused.

"Well that's good for you, now can you get out," Mia responded.

Anna stood up from her seat, brushing off some invisible dirt off her skirt, before looking back at Mia once again. "In fact, I met someone and came across a little something, that showed me exactly the type of girl you are," she smirked.

"Oh, for the love of-...what are you on about?" Mia asked her, exasperated.

Anna's smug expression remained on her face, as she reached into her clutch bag and pulled out a phone, swiping on the screen.

"I'm talking about this," Anna said, before the phone around, towards Mia.

What was on the screen shocked Mia to her core.

There, on the little device, was a video playing that Mia had thought was just a part of her past.

Instead, here it was, very much in the present.

Shocked was an understatement.

Mia didn't even know how she was meant to react to the video. Having to watch Tucker and her, once again, like it was back in high school. Once again, the video wasn't the real version of the events that took place. It didn't show Tucker forcing himself on her, her pleas for him to stop. The truth was hidden, as were the tears that she shed and her struggle to get away from him.

"W-Where did you get that?" Mia stuttered, whilst in her frozen state.

Her eyes were transfixed on the video, which has by now had ended, but she couldn't look away from where it once was.

As she saw Mia's state, Anna had assumed she's won and exposed Mia for who she truly was, because like others, she also believed this to be the truth.

"This-" she asked, tilting her head ever so slightly. "Just a little something I came across, and that now everyone in the office is seeing as well," Anna revealed.

Mia's eyes widened.

In a flash, she ran out from her office, knocking files and scattering papers in the process.

She ran out to the open floor of the office, only to see the horrid video playing on all screens, that hung on the walls. Her eyes darted around, and everywhere she looked, the video played on loop. It was everywhere. Mia's painful past was now in the open, for everyone to look at, and then judge her for.

She walked further onto the open floor, in a dazed state, and as she did, she became more aware of all the whispers around her. Her eyes darted to the few people, who were not standing by their open office doors, their gaze fixed solely on her.

Mia wasn't entirely sure on how to react. Her eyes were still dry, no tears were shed. She just felt numb. That's all she was.

"This whole facade you had on was all for show," she heard Anna snide voice behind her "It was all fake. Just an act."

Mia would've carried onto ignore, until she heard her say, "Isn't that right, Seb?"

She froze. Her breaths not deeper and harsher.

As she slowly turned to the side, Mia saw Sebastian standing by the doorway of his office. His eyes were trained on her, neither of them looking away from one another, as if it were just them.

The sounds of whispers and the video echoed in the office floor, as the two of them just stood there.

When she saw his face, Mia felt some kind of comfort within her. Sebastian had unknowingly become some sort of strength for her. The smile that he always had on when he saw her, it was something that warmed her heart, and it was something that Mia sorely needed in this moment.

"Sebastian," she said his name in a faint whisper.

She didn't care what anyone else thought, he was the only person she cared about. The only one that mattered.

As soon as Mia said his name, a pained looked passed over Sebastian's face. His brows furrowed together and and then his eyes closed tightly, before he opened them once more.

He then silently he slipped back into his office and closing the door behind him.

The action left Mia speechless.

"You should've backed off when you had the chance," Anna then said, clearly amused by the event.

Mia ignored the comment. She didn't care one bit about what someone like Anna had to say about her. She was irrelevant. Instead, she wanted to hear from the person who asked her for a chance.

She stormed towards Sebastian's office, pushing open the doors forcefully.

He was stood by his desk, his back turned towards her, and on the phone? He wouldn't turn around to the tear sliding down her cheek, but in this moment, where she really needed him, he was on the phone?

"Do you believe me?" She asked him, trying to push aside the fact that he was on the phone right now.

It was the only question that she needed to know the answer to, in that moment. She couldn't have a repeat of what happened in the past, because if it did, Mia wasn't how she'd react to it.

Sebastian didn't say anything. He didn't make a sound, nor turn around. He did nothing.

The silence that surrounded them, the weight of it felt almost soul-crushing. The lack of words were enough for Mia to think, that he didn't believe her. He didn't have to say, his silence said it all.

Unable to bear it, tears start to free-fall from Mia's eyes and she backed out of the office.

She was prepared to run out, when Anna gripped her by the arm.

"He's mine. I told you. You're just a desperate whore-" she spat out, only to be cut off when Mia, who had enough of her bullshit, slapped her.

"I told you if you touched me again, you'd regret it," Mia furiously said, as she ripped her arm out of Anna's hold, which startled her and everyone else. "That video was a fake and I don't give a shit about you or what to have to say to me. You can go fuck yourself, for all I care," Mia told her, and then ran out of the office.

Unfortunately, she left at the same time that Sebastian had finally left his office.

"You see, Sebastian. This is the kind of girl she is," Anna said, whilst trying to play the victim.

Sebastian jaw clenched as he glared at her.

"Leave," he growled, with enough anger evident in his eyes to scare Anna.

"What? But I-" Anna began to defend herself but Sebastian wanted to hear none of it.

"I said leave!" He shouts, and Anna flinched. "This video isn't real. That isn't, Mia. Mia isn't that kind of girl and I might've fallen for that trick once, but I'm not going to repeat the same mistake. So, you can leave by your own will or I will have you escorted out," Sebastian told her, his voice booming in the entire office floor.

"This isn't over," Anna fumed, angry at her failed plan.

When she didn't leave immediately, a few of the other staff, who had become her good friends, moved forward and held on Anna, ready to escort her out whilst she struggled.

Despite Sebastian and Mia thinking they were good at hiding their relationship, they really weren't. The entire staff knew, and if it wasn't known before, everything that just happened was a confirmation.

"Don't worry, boss. I got her, go get your girl," Mason then told Sebastian, and he gratefully nodded, before running out to catch up with his girl.

His Mia.
