After she had rushed out of that room, turned at the end of a corridor and leaned against the wall. She had heard Sebastian call out her name, but she couldn't look back at him.

She tried to compose herself before she headed downstairs, since she didn't want to cause a scene by looking too disheveled.

Fortunately, she managed to bump into both Harry and Leslie, just as she reached the bottom of the stairs. She then quickly said her goodbyes to them, with the excuse that there was an emergency at the flat and that she was needed.

Mia hadn't looked back to see if Sebastian had followed her.

She knew that if he did stop her and question her, it was more than likely that she would have some kind of breakdown and she couldn't have that.

Her movements were a bit of a blur to her, as she rushed out of the party and got herself a taxi to take her back to the flat. She wasn't even entirely sure how much she had paid for it.

When Mia got back home, she rushed inside and just leaned back against the door. As if she were trying to keep everything out on the other side of it. Everything that could potentially hurt her.

As she rushed inside, Nicole and Chloe panicked seeing her in such a state.

They've always seen the stronger side of Mia, the one that was always so determined and undaunted.

That night, Mia told the girls everything. From the past to the present. She never wanted to keep it all from them, but just didn't want to revisit old memories and rub on old wounds. It felt wrong to never let them know about it, especially when usually told each other everything.

For Nicole and Chloe it all clicked. It made sense why Mia hated Sebastian at the start, and why she made such a big deal on taking the role as his assistant.

It was safe to say that Nicole was fuming after learning everything, and wanted to beat the living shit out of Tucker, Victoria and smack around Sebastian.

When they learnt about the near kiss, Chloe was more sympathetic and understood why Mia ran away from there, and comforted her.

For the rest of the weekend, Mia stayed in bed. Not because she was feeling lazy, but rather due to all that had happened, had got to her and seemed to be messing with her state of mind. It was causing her to get sick, even though she didn't want to admit it to herself.

Come Monday, the girls tried to persuade Mia to stay home, since she had barely eaten or slept, mirroring her state from the past.

However, Mia didn't listen and she went to work anyway.

Sebastian was beside himself since Saturday's party. He didn't know how he was going to face Mia.

He thought that he had clearly misunderstood the situation and was practically forcing himself upon her. He didn't mean to do that, he just felt as if she might've, possibly, felt the same as him.

Clearly, that wasn't the case, judging by how she hightailed it out of there.

All Sebastian wanted to do was apologise. It didn't seem right to do over the phone, so he just hoped that she would come into the office on Monday and he could apologise then.

Unfortunately, Monday turned out to be an incredibly busy day, that was filled with back-to-back meeting and conference calls. Sebastian barely had any time to himself, let alone time to give Mia an appropriate apology that she deserved.

He also hated that he barely saw for most of the day, only catching glimpses of her, when she would organise the meeting rooms or sort out the calls. Mia, herself, had a lot of work to complete and emails to send off, therefore she couldn't accompany Sebastian to all the meetings.

Her health was deteriorating throughout the day and Mia tried to ignore it, but it was becoming harder and harder to do so.

As she sat at her desk, Mia thought to just rest her eyes for a few minutes, just to get rid of the numbing headache she'd had all day.

Little did she know, that it wasn't going to be for a few minutes.

Sebastian was sat in his office, trying to complete his work, but all that was in his mind, was that he hadn't seen Mia for a while nor had he apologised to her either.

He didn't want to go the whole day without clearing thing between them, it was already torture.

She probably didn't want to see him. He would probably react the same, if he were in her shoes or heels. Not that he wanted to be in her heels or anything.

As he sighed and looked down at his desk, Sebastian realised that they still had work to complete. Mia was committed to her work, even in a spat with him, she'd continue to do her job.

'This was one of the reasons she made something in his chest tug.'

Sebastian smiled at his plan, he would ask her to come to his office for work and then, once she was settled down, he'd give her the long apology that he'd been working on all day.

'It was perfect.'

He then cleared his throat and pressed on the button of the intercom.

"Miss Sareen, would mind coming into my office for...this work file...I mean a file for work. Just work," he fumbled with his words.

'Stop saying work, you idiot.'

Sebastian waited for an answer, but when he received nothing, he frowned.

"Miss Sareen?"

Again, no answer.

'That's strange. She always answered the intercom,' he thought.

Instead of trying again, he decided to just head to her office. If she was there, then he might as well apologise in there, rather than calling her over.

Sebastian grabbed the file on his desk, so it would seem like he actually had work that he wanted to talk about with Mia, and headed towards her office and knocked on the door.

Again, no answer.

Instead of knocking again, Sebastian walked into her office.

"Miss Sareen, we need that report on Hewlett Enterprise. Where did you...?"

His voice then trailed off, as he looked towards her desk and saw Mia sitting in her chair, with her arms resting on her desk and her laying on top. She was sleeping?

"What the...?" He couldn't help say to himself, stepping closer to her.

As he approached her sleeping form cautiously, trying his best not to wake her, he felt so confused. She would never just sleep on the job, from what he knew. She was more the type of person that would work late and tirelessly.

Sebastian moved to stand right next to her and felt bad that she was so tired, but she couldn't sleep like this. 'It was better if she rested in his office, where there was a sofa,' he then thought.

He reached out and nudged her arm slightly.

"Miss Sareen?" He said in a low voice, but there was no response.

He moved forward and touched her hand, but as soon as he did, he noticed that her skin was too hot.

"Shit, you're burning up," he said.

Sebastian noticed that she still wasn't waking up, and so he crouched down beside her and tugged at her shoulders, so that she was leaning her back against the chair.

Mia's head lolled to the side and Sebastian used his hand for her to rest it on, concern etched on his face as he noticed she wasn't just sleeping, but rather unconscious.

He touched her forehead with his other hand, her skin burning under his.

"Mia, open your eyes," he said and the only response he got was her hand rolling off her lap and hanging loosely off the chair.

"Please. Mia, come on," he begged, but to no avail.

Sebastian ran his hand through his hair, at a bit of loss on what he should do right now.

"Okay. I'm taking you home," he told her, despite her not being awake to listen.

He didn't really know how smart of decision it was, but leaving her here was not an option.

Sebastian then moved forward, placing one arm under Mia's legs, and the other around her shoulders. He carefully picked her up from her chair, trying his best not to cause her any discomfort.

As he lifted her in his arm, Mia's head hung back loosely, with her hair cascading down, and her arms and legs left dangling.

Without a second thought, Sebastian walked out of her office, with Mia's in his arms, something that caught the attention of her other staff members, that were in the open space of the office.

Mason, who was on his way to his own office, glanced to his side and was left confused, when he noticed an unconscious Mia in Sebastian's arms.

He quickly walked towards the pair. "Sir, what-?" He asked in concern.

"It's fine, she's fine," Sebastian quickly told him. "She's sick and I'm just taking her home," he added and didn't wait for a response, only rushing towards the lift, not caring to what people were going to say behind his back.

In this moment, only Mia mattered.

In his panicked state, Sebastian took Mia to his own home, rather than her flat.

He had intended on taking her home, but hadn't realised he was heading towards his own place until he parked his car. It made sense after, since he lived closer to the office than she did.

When she was in his car and he was driving, he just kept glancing over to her side, hearing her deep breathing and the occasional movement she made and her shivering.

Sebastian never found himself to be this worried before, but seeing Mia just lying there unconscious, his heart was racing and he found himself begging to any deity that would listen, just to make sure she was okay.

He took her into his flat and straight into his room, placing Mia onto the bed. He removed her heels and covered her with his blanket, up to her neck to a that she was warm enough.

Taking his phone from his pocket, Sebastian then called his family doctor.

"Hello?" A voice said through the phone.

"Dr Spencer," Sebastian greeted.

"Sebastian, my boy. How are you?" Dr Spencer asked him cheerily.

"I'm fine, but could you please get to my apartment, as soon as you can?" Sebastian asked and glanced towards Mia, who still seemed to be shivering under the covers.

"Are you alright?" The Doctor's voice then turned serious.

Sebastian was like a son to Dr Spencer, with him being the Carter family doctor for decades. He was a good friend of both Richard and Harry.

"I'm fine, but there's someone else I need you to check," Sebastian told him.

"I'll be there as soon as I can," the Doctor replied.

"Thank you," Sebastian breathed in relief.

He then removed his shoes and took a seat on the bed, next to Mia, and softly caressed her face. He gently removed her glasses and brushed the few stray hairs from her forehead.

Mia then began to stir and to Sebastian's surprise, it was his name that left her lips.

"S-Sebastian?" She said through chattering teeth and eyes fluttering open, as she moved on of her shaky hands to her face.

"Mia? Oh, thank God," Sebastian said in relief and held her hand within his, as he gently stroked her face.

He could feel her warm skin against his fingers. "Wake up, come on," he said.

"Sleepy," Mia then muttered, her eyes closing a little, and seeing this Sebastian panicked, tapping her cheek lightly. "No, no, no sleepy. Please come on, stay awake for me," he begged her.

Mia's eyes fluttered open once again, as she looked into Sebastian's gaze.

"Please stay awake, love," he pleaded and placed a kiss on the back of her hand, not caring what she may think about that in this moment.

"Come on, stay awake, yeah? Just, just tell me all the things you hate about me. I'm egotistical, arrogant, what else? Come on, tell me," he listed for her.

None of this registered for Mia, whose body just felt like she was laying on ice.

"I'm so cold," she stirred a bit.

As he saw like this, so fragile, it scared Sebastian to the core. He had no idea what he could do to help her.

"No, no, don't close your eyes," he said, noticing her eyelids drooping once more.

"Please, stay awake, Mia," his voice coming out in a mere whisper.

He shuffled forward and laid down next to Mia, slipping his arm underneath her head and the other around her waist, as he pulled her closer towards his body.

She curled up against him, his warmth from his body surrounding her.

Sebastian held her close, cradling her body against his. "Please, love. Keep those brown eyes open for me," he begged her.

He wanted nothing more, than to see eyes looking into his.

When body slumped against his, he realised that she had lost consciousness once again and this caused him to freak out, once again.

"Mia," he shook her gently, but got not response from her.

"Fuck," he then muttered and hugged her closer to him, placed a chaste kiss on the top of her head.

Not long after, Dr Spencer arrived to check on Mia.

"She'll be okay," he declared, once he carried out his checks on Mia.

"What's wrong with her?" Sebastian then asked in concern.

"Most likely stress," the Doctor replied. "I don't think she's been eating and sleeping well either," he then added.

Sebastian frowned. Was this because of him?

"The fever?" He then asked.

He'd never been good with being ill himself, let alone handling someone who was. Whenever he was even struck by a cold, he'd, unashamedly, go back to his parents and let his mother take care of him.

"It should go down by tonight. A damp washcloth on her head should help. Once she wakes up, try and get her to eat something as well and then take these ibuprofen tablets. If the fever persists, then give me a call again," Dr Spencer instructed.

"Okay. Thank you, doctor," Sebastian nodded.

"No worries, son. Your girl will be better in no time," he replied with a knowing smile.

Sebastian didn't bother correcting him.

He couldn't lie to himself, he really liked the feeling of calling Mia's 'his girl', something about it just sounded...right.

Sebastian then led the doctor out and said his goodbyes, and headed back to Mia.

Before he went to his room, he grabbed a bowl and filled it with cold water and a dishcloth too. He wasn't used to this, but he'd try for her.

Sebastian sat next to Mia on the bed once again and gently caressed her cheek, using the back of his finger. A soft touch so that it wouldn't disturb her.

"Please wake up, Mia. You're scaring me," he said in a quiet voice, and then spent the next hours looking after her.
