After she had visited Sebastian and Blake at the office, Mia felt nervous. She had no clue how this meeting between her brother and his friends would go, and she could only hope that it didn't go up in flames.

To take her mind off of it, Mia spent the afternoon with Melissa, taking her out to lunch and shopping, and buying some baby things, even if it was really early. The way Mia saw it, it's never too early to be spoilt.

A couple of hours later and Mia was heading back the hotel with Melissa, when she felt her phone buzz with a notification.

When she looked at it, a small smile graced her lips when she read the text.

'Thank you.'

She knew that he wasn't one to send a whole paragraph as a text and clearly thought that just the two words would be enough.

And for Mia, they were.

The simple text was enough to make her smile and she appreciated it.

Not long after Mia and Melissa got back her hotel room, Aaron was also back from the lunch.

Mia didn't really have to bombard him with questions to find out how it went, as Aaron told her all about it and even mentioned the slip up, where he spoke about the prom incident slightly.

It caused her to stiffen, but Aaron quickly explained that he put an end to that conversation straight away, something that she appreciated.

The next couple of days, Mia tried to make the most of Aaron and Melissa's visit, practically spending all hours with them. They had dinner at her place once, with Nicole and Chloe joining them.

On Sunday evening, the couple had to leave to go back to France. It saddened Mia when they had to leave, however Aaron and Melissa promised to return soon enough, which was enough to make her happy.

The next day, Mia was back in the office and returned to her usual duties.

It was a bit weird, as time flew by, she found that she had become so used to being Sebastian's assistant now. It was strange to even remember working as an accountant. She was so used to the routine of things now, carrying out a role she initially resented.

Something else that Mia found about herself, something that scared her, was that she was beginning to like the company of Sebastian, just a little bit.

Back in high school she hated his guts, she was never wanted to be around him. Wherever he was, she would take the opposite turn and tried to be anywhere that he wasn't. However, now things were a little different. She was starting to see him in a new light and it worried her.

Mia hoped that it was just that, that she only liked his company. It scared her to her core, when she felt herself smiling at something funny that Sebastian had done before or just the general thought of him.

In her mind, she had made it clear to herself that this was wrong. This couldn't happen. No ever. Whilst her mind seemed to have understood, there was another stupid organ of her, that wasn't exactly the best listener.

As Mia sat at her desk, filling out her weekly to-do list of tasks that she needed to have completed over the week, a knock at her door caused her to look up.

"Knock knock," a familiar voice spoke from the doorway.

"Harry!" Mia exclaimed in excitement and jumped out of her seat instantly, practically running around her desk to go an hug him.

"Mia, my dear," he smiled from ear-to-ear and hugged her back just as tightly.

She then back away from him and began her onslaught of questions. "Oh my God! How are you? Where have you been? You've been gone way too long and don't even visit me."

Harry couldn't help but laugh at her.

"Whoa, easy there," he chuckled at Mia's pout. "I've been doing well, quite great. Since I retired, I've been adjusting to life at home and spent some days in the country and also with the kids. I also took Mrs Nelson on a long holiday to Bora Bora, which kept me away and it's why I haven't come to visit you," he tried to answer all her questions.

Mia then looked at his face properly. "Well, you are looking very tanned," she joked as she noticed the slight bronzer skin on him, causing his white hair to stand out more than usual.

"Trust me, I know," he said and craned his neck at her, showing off his tanned skin, causing Mia to laugh.

"Come sit," she then gestured.

Harry moved forward and took a seat by Mia's desk, whilst she sat across from him.

"So, how's the job going?" He asked her.

"It's going," Mia smiled at him and Harry laughed. "I've got a hang of most things now, but I'm really just trying my best to make sure I don't make a muck of everything."

"That's my girl," Harry said proudly.

There wasn't a doubt in his mind that Mia could handle this role completely and do a great job. He was so sure of it from the start and even told Richard this, when he spoke to him about Mia taking over the role temporarily. Harry trusted that she would never prove him wrong.

Mia relied on her hard work and hoped that she would be able to do, all that was assigned to her. She knew how little Sebastian thought of her at the start and even accused her of not knowing what hard work, but she severely proved him wrong, on many occasions. He was forced to bite his own words, when he watched her work.

She was committed to her work, just as much as Sebastian was to his own. Something he now agreed with and admired about her.

"So, what brought you to the office today, other than seeing me of course?" Mia grinned.

"Well, of course you're top priority," Harry said seriously and Mia chuckled. "But I came to ask you something," he added.

"Of course," Mia nodded.

She'd never refuse a request from Harry and he knew that.

"Well, it's Leslie's fiftieth next weekend and we're throwing her a lavish party. I want you to be there," he told her.

Mia blinked in surprise. "Wow, fifty? She looks not a day older than thirty."

Harry playfully narrowed his eyes at her. "Save the lies for her, Mia," he joked and she laughed his words, shaking her head gently.

"Richard and his wife, Lorelai, are throwing a party for her at their house, since I want for it to be a surprise. She just thinks we're going for dinner there," Harry explained.

Mia's posture stiffened slightly.

"At Richard's," she repeated quietly.

She didn't have anything against Richard or Lorelai, but she knew a party at their house, would mean she would have to see Sebastian.

It wasn't like she already didn't see him at the office, but they didn't really see each other outside of work. Other than that one time at the club. Their time was always allocated to office hours and nothing beyond that.

He asked her, once, if she wanted to grab a drink after work, but that was with a group of people after a meeting had ran long. Mia didn't really count that and she didn't even go.

It was only a recent time and she had only just become his friend of sorts, she didn't want to push that. Her interactions with him, were always kept to office hours, she tried to make sure of that.

Mia didn't want to cross a boundary and there was a part of her, that was a little untrusting towards Sebastian. Besides, he was her boss and she was his employee. Apart from occasional lunches together, she wasn't sure it was a good idea to spend more time with him. Especially with her starting to think she may catch feelings, and that could not happen.

"I want you to be there on Saturday, at seven. I'll send you a email of all the details," Harry continued, unknown to nervousness Mia was suddenly feeling.

"But, Harry I-"

"Nope. You're coming, don't want to hear anything else," he waved his hands, refusing to hear any excuse.

Mia opened her mouth to refuse once more but a look from Harry stops her from continuing.

She then sighed deeply, "There's no getting out of this is there?" She asked, the question rhetorical in every sense as she knew the answer already.

"Nope," Harry shook his head.

"Come on, love. Come to the party. You know how much Leslie adores you, she'd love for you to be there," he coaxed her and tried to pull off a puppy-dog look on her.

Despite the expression not really coming off as great as Harry probably intended it, it was enough to melt Mia's heart.

Mia relented. "Okay, fine. I'll be there," she said and Harry grinned like a kid at Christmas.

"I knew you would," he said and Mia shook her head.

He knew all too well that she couldn't say no to him, so it probably wasn't even much of a request, as it was information that she was going to be present at the party.

"Right, now I'm off to check on the cake," Harry said getting out his seat.

Mia frowned. "Off so soon?" She asked, getting out her seat as well.

"Well, not yet. Not until you make me some coffee," he said, stretching out his arm and Mia smiled.

"Of course," she said and linked her arm within his, heading towards the kitchen.
