Mia had spent the rest of her day at the office feeling utterly confused.

Her lunch with Sebastian seemed to have been quite nice, as face as she could recall. They spoke and even shared jokes. She'd teased him a little, but he'd done the same with her. As far as she knew, all had gone well.

However, when they had returned to the office, it was like a switched had been flipped and he was suddenly 'frosty and mean Sebastian' again.

She really didn't understand what had changed so suddenly. Mia tried to recall if it was something she had said or done, but came up blank. Maybe it was just the office air that made him like that? Whatever it was, it bothered her.

As soon as working day had ended, Mia had begun to pack up her stuff. She had expected Sebastian to pop into her office, like he would usually do recently, and wish her a good evening, but there was none of that. He just left.

His weird and distant behaviour, didn't really make sense to Mia, not after they had that nice lunch together, but she decided to put that at the back of her mind anyway. She had her dinner with Mason and other to look forward towards, and tried to keep her mood positive for that.

It was quite late by the time that Mia had got home, after her dinner.

She had more fun than she had initially expected. Everyone was really nice and welcoming, and then food was even better. Mexican food was her new favourite.

As soon as she walked through her flat door and into the living room, Mia spotted Chloe sitting on the sofa, a remote in hand.

"How was dinner?" Chloe asked her, as Mia slumped down next to her.

"It was great," Mia turned to her with a wide smile on her face. "We really need go to the restaurant. You'd love their nachos," she said and in that moment Nicole walked into the living room.

"And now I'm craving nachos," Nicole sighed and she dropped down onto sofa too, stretching her legs out onto the longer part of it.

She turned to Mia with a grin on her face.

"How was the company?" Nicole asked in an all-knowing tone.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Mia questioned her, when she noticed the weird look on Nicole's face.

"Looking like what? I just asked a question," Nicole replied all too innocently.

Mia narrowed her eyes. "You're wiggling your brows suggestively, like you know something".

Usually this look was given to Mia, after Nicole had implied a sexual innuendo. Yet, nothing in what she had said seemed dirty to her.

'Loving nachos cannot be a dirty thing, can it?' Mia wondered to herself.

Nicole shot her another look, this time with a shit-eating grin, whilst Chloe just looked at the two, completely lost.

"Just say what you want to," Mia sighed.

She'd already had a long day and knew that Nicole wasn't one to just hold her tongue on something, for the sake of it. Nope. She'd continue to pester her, till she got what she wanted.

"How was dinner with Mason?" Nicole asked with a cheeky smile.

Mia really didn't understand what she was getting at.

"Um, it was good?" She replied in an unsure tone, "I didn't just go with him, you know? It was a group of people."

"Do you seriously not know what I'm getting at?" Nicole questioned her, frustrated at obliviousness.

"No?" Mia replied as she stretched out the word in uncertainty.

Nicole looked up at the ceiling. 'Why did I get friends like this?' She asked herself, before she turned to Mia. "He likes you, you idiot!" She shouted.

"Mason?" Mia asked.

At this, Nicole really didn't how Mia could be so stupid. "No, my Uncle Herschel," Nicole responded sarcastically. "Yes Mason, you twat," she then added.

Mia glared at her. "Okay first off, your Uncle Herschel adores me," she said and Nicole scoffed, despite knowing that Mia was right. "And secondly, Mason doesn't like me like that."

"Yes, he does. From all the stories you've told us, he clearly likes you," Nicole stated, as if she knew for sure.

"No, he doesn't," Mia firmly said once again.

"Yes, he does. Remember when Chloe and I came to have lunch with you and met him? He was acting all shy around you," Nicole said.

She then looked towards Chloe and hoped that she would confirm her story. However, Chloe just kept a blank face, as she didn't want to get in the middle of it.

Mia realised what Nicole meant and she shook her head at her words. "You're misreading this," she said.

"Yes, it was." Nicole stated. "I'm intuitive when it comes to this kind of stuff," she added on and flipped her hair slightly.

"Intuitive, my arse," Mia snorted. "It's not me, he likes," she muttered lowly.

"Yes it is," Nicole said and threw a pillow at Mia.

Mia threw the cushion back. "No, it's not."

"Oh, we're back to this then?" Nicole asked, as she referred to the childish behaviour. "If he doesn't like you, then who does he like?" she pushed.

Mia then couldn't help but blurt out "Chloe".

"What!?" Nicole exclaimed, whilst Chloe just looked frozen after she'd heard the declaration.

"Shit." Mia cursed after she realised what she just said, and then turned to her friend. "Sorry, Chloe. I didn't mean to blurt it out like that, it just came out."

She then found another cushion to throw at Nicole.

"Nic, you're so annoying!"

"He likes me?" Chloe then asked Mia, as a deep red hue had begun to develop upon her cheeks.

Mia nodded at her. "He's been trying to say this to me for a while apparently, even when he asked me to dinner," she said and remembered how Mason was hesitating. "Then finally during the dinner, he pulled me away from the group and asked if he would have a chance with you."

Mason had actually been smitten with Chloe, from the moment that Mia had introduced the two. He was attracted to her shyness and way she'd blush, when he'd catch her unconsciously staring at him. He felt if he were to ask Chloe straight on, it'd be too much for her, so instead he chose to go through Mia.

"Wow I'm really, really wrong," Nicole said in slight shock.

"Yes you are, you prat," Mia glared at her.

The two scowled at each other, until Chloe broke the silence between them.

"So, um, what did you say to him?" She asked in a soft voice.

"Well, it is your decision at the end," Mia started. "You're one of my best friends and there is no one better than you, which is of course why he likes you. I said, I'd ask you first and see what you thought. Ideally, in a nicer way than just blurting it out like that," she said and glared at Nicole once again.

Nicole shrugged sheepishly. "Sorry about that."

"So, what'd you think?" Mia questioned her, but the look on Chloe's face told her everything she needed to know as it is.

Chloe then shyly tucked a loose strand of hair, behind her ear. "Well, he seems nice," she mumbled and looked down at her hands in her lap, with fiddled with the hem of her top.

Nicole did a double-take at the answer. "He seems nice?" She asked. "Just nice? God, you're hopeless," she groaned and threw her head back in exaggeration.

"Hey, don't push her," Mia said. "Chloe, he really is a good guy. One of the first to befriend me, when I started working as Sebastian's assistant. He's really sweet and funny. I think you'd like him."

"So. what should I do?" Chloe asked her.

Nicole looked at her in disbelief and wondered how could someone be so clueless.

"For the love of-"

"Nic." Mia cut her off.

"Just go out with him," Nicole said.

"Nic!" Mia shouted.

"Okay," Chloe then agreed and the pair looked at her with wide eyes.

"Okay?" Mia repeated. "Really? You're not just saying okay because of Nic are you?" She questioned and Nicole mumbled 'bitch' under her breath.

"No," Chloe shook her head, but then quickly corrected herself. "I mean yes kind of. But one date won't be so bad. He's really seems nice," she added, changing to a darker shade of red.

Nicole then laughed. "If nice is what does it for you, you must go mental when someone just opens the door for you".

"You're such a bitch," Mia said and bit back her own laugh.

"Takes one to know one," Nicole responded and blew Mia a kiss.

Mia rolled her eyes at the gesture and then turned to Chloe once again.

"So shall I give him your number?" She asked carefully. She didn't want to push her on it, despite Nicole doing so, several times.

"Yes," Chloe nodded bashfully.

Nicole then threw her hands in the air. "Fucking finally! She's getting some action," she exclaimed.

This time, Chloe was the one to throw the pillow.

"Ow! You bitch." Nicole said.

"Takes one to know one," Mia then said to her with a smug grin and blew a kiss at her too, which caused Chloe to laugh and even Nicole cracked a smile.
