On an unexpected day of beautiful sunshine, Sebastian and Mia were sat at a fancy restaurant during lunch.

Mia was incredibly confused on why Sebastian had brought her here of all places, especially when he told her that he was bringing her to a meeting, which she assumed to be in another office building.

"Why are we here?" Mia asked impatiently for the fourth time, looking at her surroundings.

This upscale restaurant looked like the kind of place where the words 'fine dining' probably came from. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, providing warm lighting and gentle and relaxed ambience. The wood-laden walls of the restaurant gave a rustic-feel to the place, intricate carvings at the top.

It was clear to Mia, that this was not the kind of place she would ever eat at, unless probably celebrating a birthday, if that.

Sebastian didn't bother looking away from his menu.

"Why else? To meet a client," he said in a bored tone and then just to annoy Mia he added, "This isn't a date."

"Like I'd go on one with you," Mia scoffed.

"Like I'd even ask," he replied, fuelling the fire further.

Mia clutched the fork on the table in anger, trying to tell herself that it wasn't the wisest ideas to stab you boss with cutlery, especially if you wanted to be paid at the end of the month.

After a few minutes, Mia then noticed that a sweet elderly lady was walking in the direction of their table, flashing a big smile in Sebastian's direction.

When he looked up and noticed her walking towards them, Sebastian got up from his seat and moved towards her.

"Sebastian, my dear. How are you?" She greeted him and then proceeded to pull him down to her smaller height, for a hug.

"I'm doing good, Margaret. How are you?" Sebastian responded hugging her back.

"Evergreen, love. Evergreen," Margaret laughed, as Sebastian pulled out a chair for her, opposite to Mia.

"Good to hear," he said.

Mia smiled as she watched the interaction between the two of them. It was odd for her, to not see Sebastian act like the cold-hearted brute he was. Apparently he could be nice, just not with her. 'This must be the most his face muscles were being used,' she thought, seeing the smile on his face, compared to the usual hardened expression.

"And who is this lovely lady?" Margaret asked, looking at Mia.

"This is, Mia," Sebastian introduced her, as he sat down himself.

"Hello. It's nice to meet you," Mia awkwardly waved.

"Oh, she's a doll," Margaret said delightfully. "You two make a wonderful couple," she observed.

Mia nearly choked on air, her eyes widening to an almost comical size.

"Couple?" She repeated, letting out an amused breath.

Just as Mia was about correct her, Sebastian, who was seated next to her, then unexpectedly put an arm around her shoulder.

She turned to looked at him, as if he had truly lost him mind. He must have, if he was acting like this.

"Yes, we really do." Sebastian then grinned, still looking towards Margaret.

Mia kept her gaze firmly on him, not understanding what he was playing at all of a sudden.

"What the...?" Mia muttered to him, only for Sebastian to squeeze her shoulder gently, and act that just left her all the more puzzled.

"A lot better than that blonde witch you were with last time," she said, referring to Anna. This made Sebastian shift awkwardly and put a smirk on Mia's face. "God, I hated her. She was so snooty, probably doesn't even bend to put on her shoes," she added.

Mia bit back her laughter. She most definitely liked this lady.

Sebastian winced at Margaret's words. "She wasn't that bad, Margaret," he tried to defend Anna.

Margaret waved him off, dismissing his words. "She was worse dear," she informed him.

Mia let out laugh and then tried to cover it with a cough rather poorly when Sebastian glared at her.

"Anyway, forget about her. Tell me, how did you two meet?" Margaret then asked.

She her hands folded together, resting on the table in front of her, with a grin on her face, not unlike a teenage girl about to hear some gossip.

"Huh?" Mia asked, not entirely sure on what to say.

"How did you meet? I've always been a sucker for love stories," Margaret said.

Mia just looked to Sebastian for help, who was looking rather amused.

"You tell her, love. You tell it so much better than I," he then said, pulling Mia slightly closer with his arm that was still around her shoulder.

Sebastian was quite curious to know what kind of story she would come up with. He assumed that she'd probably tell a sappy story, probably the kind of damsel-in-distress kind, and then he came to her rescue and swept her off her feet, like her knight in shining armour.

"Right," Mia said, clearing her throat and trying to think up a good story and then realised she could use this opportunity to her advantage. "We met at a party, through mutual friends. I had no clue who Sebastian was, he just seemed like the kind of guy with a stick up his behind, so I wasn't so interested in him. However, he seemed to have taken a liking towards me."

Sebastian squeezed her shoulder as he heard the absurd story that she begun to say. He looked at her in annoyance at being portrayed like that, despite her knowing full well he'd never do that.

"Well, who wouldn't, you're gorgeous," Margaret complimented her with a grin.

"Thank you, Margaret. You're too sweet," Mia grinned, ignoring Sebastian burning a hole in the side of her head.

She then continued with her fake love story. "Anyway, Sebastian chased me for months. I wasn't interested but he wouldn't let it go," she said dramatically.

Margaret chuckled. "Oh dear, I can't imagine him chasing someone," she said.

'Because I never would,' Sebastian wanted to yell.

Mia smiled sweetly. "I guess not every girl is so lucky."

From her peripheral vision, she could see Sebastian begin nostrils flare in anger and so Mia avoided looked at him. She knew that he was getting pissed off and the knowledge of that was just perfect.

Margaret seemed oblivious to Sebastian's expression and carried on to look at Mia. "How did he wear you down then?" She then asked.

"He just kept showing up wherever I was. At work, at the gym, even the supermarket. Finally, I got tired of it all and decided to give him a chance," she said.

Mia gripped the napkin in her lap, to stop herself from laughing at her own stupid story.

Margaret then looked to Sebastian. "You must've been smitten to do all that legwork," she stated and he put on a fake smile for her sake.

"I really was," Sebastian said and then tugged Mia closer towards him a little forcefully, which Margaret understood as a romantic gesture, but both Sebastian and Mia were aware that it was anything but that.

"Couldn't stop thinking about this one, I imagine," Margaret joked.

Mia nervously laughed feeling the pressure of Sebastian's hand around her arm now.

"She's just my light," Sebastian forced out the words and decided he could also get back at her. "I love her, despite the snoring, nail-biting, and talking with her mouthful. Love all her imperfections, I do," he said in a sweet voice.

Mia looked at him with anger, for saying all those things about her. Again, she had to remind herself why she shouldn't take the fork on the table and jam it into his hand.

"Aren't you sweet," Margaret giggled like a school girl.

"Isn't he?" Mia gritted out, whilst Sebastian smirked at her.

"Only for you, love," Sebastian replied.

He knew that he was getting to her and was enjoying it. If she could make him looked like some kind of lovesick fool, who spent his waking hours just chasing her. If that's how she wanted to do it, then two could play at this game and he always played to win.

"Oh, you two," Margaret cooed. "You both remind me of my late-husband and I. We were just like the two of you, so in love and romantic," she gushed.

Sebastian and Mia looked to one another, wondering exactly what was Margaret seeing, because they didn't see it at all.

"You're going to last. I can just tell," she then said and the two in question, shared a look once more.

Lasting together, was something that neither of them wanted.

After some time, the three had ordered their food and continued to make conversation. Margaret wanted to know a lot more about Sebastian and Mia, but he then swiftly changed the subject back onto Margaret, who back to tell them all about her own life.

She had enough stories herself to last the entire meal and then some, after which she then said her goodbyes leaving behind Mia and Sebastian.

"What the hell was that?" Mia said in a loud whisper, not wanting to cause a scene by shouting.

"That was me trying woo a client," Sebastian replied with a bored expression.

Margaret was actually the owner of a large company, one which Sebastian had secured a contract with, to construct their new buildings. She was a really sweet old lady and the best way to get to her, was through emotions rather the normal presentations and meetings.

Sebastian had tried to bring Anna with him once, but that ultimately failed when Margaret quickly decided that she didn't like Anna for a reason unknown to him.

Initially, he had wanted to bring Sophie at the time he brought Anna, but Sophie's pregnancy had began to show and that was not something he wanted to explain to Margaret.

However, now since he had Mia, he thought why not try his luck, which proved to be successful.

"By making me your fake girlfriend!?" Mia exclaimed. "You don't think it's wrong to fool an elderly lady, like that?"

The whole time, Mia was just enjoying annoying Sebastian. She had forgotten, that essentially she was lying to Margaret about everything.

"Oh relax. It was fake," Sebastian said. "And I don't think it's wrong to want to expand your business."

"By lying?" Mia asked.

"It's a harmless little lie. Margaret is like a grandmother to me and she just likes seeing me with someone. I already have a deal with her and she would never cancel it, but to keep her happy, I organise a lunch. Margaret always demands that I bring along my significant other with me, and to appease her, I do."

This part of the job wasn't exactly something that Sebastian enjoyed, but his Dad always told him it was an essential aspect of the role. Margaret was one of the few clients, he didn't mind actually meeting, she was always sweet and kind. Even without business, he would enjoy her company.

"I can't believe I had to fake being your girlfriend," Mia shuddered.

"You should be honoured, I even considered you for the role," Sebastian replied.

Mia scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Ha, yeah sure. It's such a privilege," she mocked.

"I never thought you'd see it like. You're very welcome, Miss Sareen," Sebastian replied with a smirk across his face.

Sensing his amusement, Mia then narrowed her eyes at him. "Piss off."

Sebastian then moved closer to Mia. "Never love," he whispered in her ear, after which she then shoved him back.
