《You Were Mine [ Billionaire Series #3 ]》CHAPTER 9

CRIZIA [PRESENT]
"I WANT YOU TO eat with me. That's an order." I closed my fist because of irritation.
"Just to remind you, Mr. Rivera. I am your personal secretary. Eating beside you isn't part of my job," Humalukipkip ako at nginuso ang laptop sa harap niya. "You can search my job description dyan sa Google para may idea ka."
"I know what is your job, Crizia. I just want you to eat with me. Is it wrong?"
"It is against to my principles. I don't eat with my ex." Umangat ang sulok ng labi niya.
"The way you talk, marami ka bang naging ex maliban sakin?" I arched my brow.
"Wala. I hate men. "They're just going to dump me because I don't satisfy them in bed. Plus because I am soft hearted." Tumalim na ang tingin niya sakin.
"Why are you saying these?"
"It's because you are the reason why I quitted being in love. Luckily, my boyfriend taught me how to love and to trust again, and guess what?" I smirked bago pa ako mas lumapit sakanya. "I do satisfy him in bed."
"Shut up."
"Take your lunch, Mr. Rivera."
"Hey! I said eat here!"
She arched her brow.
"Who the hell are you?" She asked.
"Good afternoon, Miss. I am Mr. Rivera's personal secretary- Crizia Aguilar. You need help or something? As far as I remember, there's no schedule for the lunch." Pagak itong tumawa at humalukipkip pa!
"Oh, so you are the secretary. Miss, I am Abigail Tiago. I don't need to set an appointment because I am his girlfriend!" Napatanga ako sakanya.
Girlfriend? May girlfriend siya? Girlfriend niya ang babaeng 'to? Gaano sila katagal? Limang taon na ba?
"Uhm..." Shit! Nasan ang tapang ko? Ang mga words? Bakit hindi ako makasagot?
"What?"
"Miss, Mr. Rivera is eating and seems like he doesn't want to-" Biglang sumupot si bugok.
"Zia, I told you- Abi?"
"Diego baby, I texted you last night! I said I miss you already." Hinaplos pa nito ang dibdib ng lalaki.
"Didn't I told you that I am busy?" Seryosong tanong ni Diego. Mukhang hindi siya natutuwa sa girlfriend niya.
"But, I want you! I miss your touches. Don't you miss me, baby?" I rolled my eyes bago ako tumikhim para makuha ko ang atensyon nila.
"Excuse me."

What the hell is happening?
OHMYGOD!
ZIA! It's been five years! I miss your touches daw. May nangyayari sakanila! What the hell?
So? Wala akong pakielam.
Wala nga! Wala!
I don't want to see their faces.
I finished eating when the telephone beside me rang. Dinampot ko ito agad.
"Crizia Aguilar speaking."
["I want you here, Crizia."] I saw him agad.
Tahimik lang akong nakamasid sakanya. Nandito pa rin ang girlfriend niya, ha.
"Sir?"
"Your friend..."
"Paula..." I want to scream pero pinigilan ko.
"Zia." She winked at me.
"I hired her as a bellwoman. She'll start her work today. Can you ask someone to guide her?"
"Sure, Sir." I looked at Paula who's biting her lip and forcing herself not to smile. "Let's go?"
"Yes!" Tumingin ito kay Diego. "Thank you, Sir Diego! It's nice to see you after... Five years." I gritted my teeth secretly.
"You're welcome. It's nice to see you too, Paula." Umasungot ang girlfriend niya.
"Babe... You're being too close to her."
"I see. Your taste went low a little..." Umawang ang labi ni Abigael. "We can see the difference. We will go now, Sir."
Diego's reaction was priceless! Even his girlfriend! Paula's so naughty!
Girlfriend niya 'yon!" Humalakhak siya lalo.
"So? Totoo naman ang sinabi ko, Crizia. What happened to your husband?" Sinimangutan ko siya. How dare her!
"Correction. Ex-husband." I don't want to remember it."
Ngumuso siya. "I'm sorry, Criz. Nakalimutan kong hindi pala naging madali lahat sayo noon." Hindi ako umimik.

"It's okay. I moved on, Paula. Ayoko lang maalala ang nangyari noon." Nakita kong nakatingin pa rin siya sakin. "I can't even stand the sight of him, but I need this work."
What's the purpose of being married kung magdi-divorce rin naman? Just like what happened to me and Diego. We were so happy in love then isang araw ay nabagok na lang ang ulo niya at nagising siyang hindi na ako mahal.
Or should I say nagsawa.
"Why don't you try Caleb? He's a good man." I shrugged.
"Diego was a good man, too. You used to like him for me when we were in College." I slightly laughed bago umupo sa swivel chair ko.
"I regretted that I pushed you to him."
"It was still my choice to love and to like him."
Iyong ex mo moved on na. May girlfriend na nga, e." I glared at her.
"So?
"Based on experience?" Kumunot ang noo ko.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Duh! Based on experience, I mean kung lagi niyo 'yong ginagawa noon! Kilalang kilala, ah? Ilang buwan nga kayong kasal noon? Lima? So, ilang beses niyong ginawa?" Inirapan ko siya. I don't want ro remember! "Dali na!"
"I don't know!
The way he kissed your lips, your neck, your chest, your tummy, your-"
"Shut up, Paula! Nakakakilabot ka! Hindi mo ba naririnig ang sinasabi mo? Kadiri!" Mas lalo siyang humalakhak.
"So, gaano nga kasi kadalas kayong mag-sex noon? Dali! I just want to know." I rolled my eyes at pasimpleng inalala kung gaano ba kadalas noon.
"I don't know basta walang linggo na hindi namin ginagawa 'yon and of course, kapag may period ako, no sex."
"Oh shit! Sana all!
Oh my gosh!
"B-boss!" Napatayo ako.
Holyshitttt! Narinig niya ba? Nakita niya ba? No way!
"What are you doing here, boss?" "Do you need anything? You have no schedule for today, but tommorow, you have six meetings to attend."
"Cancel it." "I just want to ask if have you eaten?"
"Yes, boss. I was planning and looking for someone who can guide Paula so... I let her stay here for awhile. I hope it's okay." Nasan kaya yung girlfriend niyang mukhang hito?
"Of course." "Are you free tonight?"
"Oh..." Daing ni Paula.
"I don't think so... Dinner with Paula, why?"
"I want you to dine with me, Crizia." I arched my brow.
"You are committed, Boss. Why are you inviting me to have a dinner with you? You must ask your girlfriend instead of me."
"I want you." Naubo ako.
Memories came inside my head. The way he talks, parang kami pa rin.
"I am committed, too." I saw his jaw moved before he nodded.
"Okay."
"Crizia! Sinong boyfriend mo? Committed ka na? Bakit hindi ko alam? Don't tell me it was just for a show?!"
"'Wag kang maingay, boba!" Singhal ko.
Baka isipin ni Diego na it was just for a show nga. Anong iisipin niya kapag nalaman niya 'yon? It was so obvious kaya!
"Huy! Baliw ka na? Bakit sinasabunutan mo sarili mo? Oh my god, Zia! Don't tell me you're crazy?!"
"No! Nakakahiya lang! Baka narinig niya yung nga pinagsasasabi mo kanina! Baka kung anong isipin no'n." I looked at my wristwatch.
Nando'n pa kaya yung girlfriend niya?
Someone knocked.
"Come in." Biglang sumulpot ang lalaking nakasalamin. Tumikhim pa ito bago lumapit.
"Miss Secretary, this is the summary report about Mr. Rivera's Restaurant at Philippines." Inabot niya sakin ang folder. "He told me to give this to you so you can give this to him."
Mariin akong napapikit. Ang arte niya! Pinagpasahan pasahan pa namin.
"Okay. Thank you."
I knocked first pero walang sumasagot so I decided to open it without his words.
Then I saw him with his girlfriend. Kissing. His girlfriend were holding his hands, trying to control him.
Why are they kissing?! Office hours pa! And why do I have this feeling na nasasaktan?
He was so pale. Gulat na gulat dahil nandito ako.

Noli Me Tank in a Mall
Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo are important cultural works that ignited the Philippine Revolution against Spain. They are novels that exposed to the populace the abuses and the injustices of their Spanish colonial rulers, the hypocrisy of their priests, and inherent cruelty of their class structure over the powerless masses. Unfortunately, they rose up in the middle of the Spanish-American War, one which saw Spain lose most of their overseas colonies and decisively end as a World Power. The war ended in the 1898 Treaty of Paris, in which Spain also sold the Philippines to the USA for the sum of twenty million dollars. The revolutionary government was then crushed by the overwhelming military might of the United States and the Philippines turned into a territory. While the Philippines stands as the USA's greatest successes in nation-building, their early occupation left almost one-fifth of the population dead from combat and disease. Jose Rizal was executed by the Spanish long before knowing what might happen to his country. The world presented within The Noli and the El Fili is therefore stuck frozen in time, forever caught in that moment before a Revolution. Now let's see what happens to this nation if we give it the Light Novel treatment and jam the entirety of the Internet into their protagonist's skull and watch him try to fix things with his unfortunate tendency to sound like a supervillain. Updates Mondays and Fridays. Note: The Noli and El Fili have been public domain since 1946. This is completely fair game.
