Chapter 31
Violet's P.O.V.
The minute my uncle saw the fire wave, he sprung into action. A wall of water blocked the fire and it soon started fading, only to be replaced by another waves of fire. Soon, both of the armies started fighting, but we had the advantage since a large number of demons joined us. My uncle was fighting Damon, both of them using their elements against one another. My eyes wandered to Eros and I saw him fighting off two death demons.
I focused my sight on the five demons ahead of me, each sending either fire balls or fire waves in my direction. I dodged them by creating soil walls but the more the fire balls kept hitting it, the quicker it broke apart.
Of course, I wasn't just protecting myself using the soil wall, but I was gaining time to control the soil they were standing on. When the wall finally broke down, I knew it was time to fight back. The ground they were standing on soon started to collapse.
The demons tried to stop me by directing their fire in my direction but I was much faster; the earth swallowed them. I kept on fighting off the demons but it was getting harder and harder since they were ganging up on me. All of a sudden, fire shot out the ground and burned the demons.
I grimaced at the scene, not being able to look at their now burnt bodies. I looked up, wanting to know who did that and was surprised when I saw someone I hadn't seen in a while.
"Peter?"
"Thought you could use some help." He saluted sending me a smile before running in the direction of one of our soldiers and helping him out with demons. That was how the next half an hour went, both armies fighting one another trying to win the battle.
A lot of bodies were laying on the floor, both demons and witches were drenched in their own puddles of blood. I was knocked out of my trance when I heard someone cry out in pain. I turned around and wasted no time in running forward till I reached my uncle's side.
He was kneeling on the floor with his hands on the ground. Someone injured him by shooting fire at his back and legs while he was fighting Damon. I looked up and saw a fire tornado coming our way but before it could hit us, I stepped in front of my uncle and summoned water. The seventeen meter water wall, held of the fire and I quickly turned around and glared at the now smirking death demon in front of me.
"You're going to pay for that." I snarled.
All of a sudden, I felt a sudden jolt of energy running though my veins. The demon didn't wait and started shooting black balls of smoky fire my way. I fought defensively, trying my best to avoid those since they could kill any person they struck.
I lifted my hands up and closed my eyes concentrating on nothing but the sound of the wind. At first, small breeze of wind flew by. My eyes opened and I smirked when a huge gust of wind, that could make any man fly, blew strong.
My arms went on fire and I merged the wind with flames. The demon didn't see that coming, he tried using his powers to stop the wind and protect himself but it was to no avail, the wind was too strong. The demon caught fire and turned into dust as soon as the wind hit him.

I turned around quickly and knelt next to my uncle.
"Are you okay?" I put a hand on his shoulder. Helping him get up, I looked behind me and sighed in relief when I saw that the wall was still up. My uncle hissed in pain and fell down again. I looked at his leg and covered my mouth when I saw his bloody flesh. My eyes darted around and I spotted Peter running in our direction.
"Help him," I pleaded. My uncle had his eyes closed and he was biting his lips from pain. Peter ordered someone to come and help him with my uncle since he had his leg burned and couldn't walk. Peter and the other soldier led my uncle away and I saw General Thomas yelling out orders from a few miles ahead.
"Too bad he cannot fight, I wanted to take him out using my bare hands." That bastard! I turned around and glared at Damon. I wished I could just wipe the smirk off his face. I growled under my breath feeling barmy.
"So, princess Violet, the girl from the prophecy." He started walking around me, the same way a predator would wound its way around its prey. "You are going to defeat the darkness, am I correct?" I frowned, it wasn't like he expected an answer from me.
"I don't know why, but I hardly believe that," he said, making me clench my fists. "I hardly believe that a weak and fragile teen could save the supernatural world from darkness. If you think about it logically, you find it impossible don't you?" My eyebrows twitched but I didn't answer him. I took a look at the ground and started planning an attack in my head.
"Spit it out already," I demanded and saw a trace of anger flash through his eyes but he managed to hide it well.
"You don't actually believe that you can save this world right?" I gritted my teeth, oh how much I wanna kill him with my own hands right now. He let out a humorless laugh when I didn't respond. "Oh, you actually do think that you can save this world, how sweet. Well, let me tell you one thing; that will never happen." I felt my hands turn cold blue with fury, the iciness of them matching my icy glare.
The cold didn't hurt me, but I knew it would cause a lot of damage to him. I didn't want to talk to him anymore, wasting my breath on words he was not worthy of. I raised my hand back, as if ready to throw a snowball at him, and when I swung forward, a ball of ice flew from my hand, soared through the air and hit him in the chest. My eyes went wide when I saw him grin, That bastard is crazy! I just hit him and he's smiling?
"Such a shame, I thought that you were trained well enough." The next thing I knew, huge branches of black smoke were quickly making their way towards me. Reacting promptly, I surrounded myself by ice but it didn't work. I remembered my uncle telling me about the black smoke king Damon used, it was similar to the dark smoke the death demons use but more powerful. My eyes widened when I saw the ice was starting to turn black. What the hell?
I used fire to break the ice and quickly started attacking Damon with my own fire balls. I was getting frustrated, especially with Damon avoiding every ball I shoot at him. He made this look like it was a game for him! It probably is, I told myself. I mean, I'm fighting the king of the Demons and he is much more experienced than I am.

But I knew that I had to beat him.
I had to defeat him in order to save the universe and that was what I was planning to do. Actually, that's what I will do. The fight went on and I was getting exhausted. King Damon had a smirk on his face, and it was angering me. I was about to make a wave torrent and surround him there when I felt something hot spread around my ankle.
I let out a loud scream and fell to the ground looking down at now my red and swollen ankle. It was burning and I let out a loud hiss when the burning sensation increased.
"First rule Princess, keep your eyes open for everything." He grinned wickedly and I shut my eyes in pain. Damn that fucking son of a bitch! Damon let out a laugh. He enjoyed seeing me so helpless and in pain. I gritted my teeth so hard, I thought they would break, so I took deep breaths. I put a hand above my ankle and relaxed when water covered it. I
stood up and looked at Damon square in the eyes.
"I remember a long time ago, a house in the middle of the woods getting burned," he started talking again. I looked at him confused but then glared as I caught track of what he was speaking of. "They tried to convince you that the fire broke out because your parents left something on."
"What are you trying to say?"
"I'm surprised that you didn't figure it out already." My eyes widened. I took a step back and stared at him with a mixture of shock and anger.
"It was quite entertaining actually, seeing your mother screaming and begging me to stop the fire, oh and seeing your father looking so defeated, if you ask me, it was a sight to see." He chuckled. "Ah, the memories." He shook his head.
He killed my parents.
"You – you monster!" I felt something wet on my cheek but the feeling soon faded as I was so blinded by madness that all I could see was red. Unconsciously, I let fire explode from under the ground. I had only one thing in mind; I wanted him dead. I flew backwards and my back collided with a tree. I groaned looking up and rolled to the side swiftly when I saw fire coming my way.
"You do realize that you're the reason why your loved ones die. First your parents and then who knows, maybe my son." I looked at him, disgust seeping through my veins. This – this is not a man, he's a monster! I had never met such a heartless person as him.
"You'd kill your own son?! What kind of a father are you?!" I yelled. I had never felt such revulsion for a person like I did right then. I expected King Damon – actually, I don't know what I had expected him to do. I waited for his reaction and frowned when I saw him start to chuckle.
"My own son is a traitor and a traitor has to be punished; like he is being right now." He looked to his side and my eyes followed suit. I gasped at the sight a few meters away. Eros was lying on the ground with blood covering his face and a death demon circling him.
My heart clenched in pain. I wasted no time to run to his side but stopped dead in my tracks when a fire rim broke out.
"You won't be able to save him Princess, he will die and I will make sure of it." His dangerously low voice rang through my ears. "Kill him!" He yelled and I felt my heart stop.
I glanced up and saw the sky painted in a light shade of purple. Looking around me, I took a step back in surprise when I noticed my surrounding. I was in a meadow. A meadow washed in a haze of white. It wasn't just the glow that was white, but everything around me; the grass, the surrounding forest, the flowers, everything was white.
I blinked several times to make sure that I wasn't in a daze but I still saw the same thing. I could hear the rustling of the wind dancing in the white leaves of the trees nearby, it was so relaxing.
"Violet," a gracious voice called. I turned around and gasped when I saw the beautiful face of a woman I thought I would never see again. There, right in front of me, was my mother. She was smiling and I could see her eyes getting watery.
"Mom." I took a step forward not believing what I was actually seeing. Her smile grew as she nodded.
"Mom!" I ran, excitement coursing through my veins as opened my arms to hug her but was surprised when I couldn't touch her.
"Mom, what-"
"I know what you're going to ask honey but we have no time. Your father and I, we summoned you here because we don't want you to believe that monster." She caressed my cheek and I closed my eyes savoring her feeling. It was kind of confusing why I could feel her touch me but I couldn't feel anything when I touched her.
My face broke out into a small smile when I heard her call me honey. God, how much I missed her voice, how much I missed her calling me cute nicknames and how much I missed seeing her face that made hope flutter in my heart.
"We love you baby girl, we always have and always will." I turned around and felt my heart leap in excitement.
"Dad!" I covered my mouth trying not to let my emotions leap and start crying. He looked the same way I remembered him, strong and loving. He put his hands on my cheek and yet again, I closed my eyes trying to savor the moment. "You've grown up so fast, I can't believe my little bundle of joy has turned into a woman." I could hear the pride in his voice, making me blush.
"Sweetie, we have to be quick, you have to believe in yourself, don't you ever believe the rubbish Damon is trying to feed you because he's trying to do that to weaken you." He put his hands on my shoulders and lowered himself until his was at my eye level.
"Okay?" I nodded and my father smiled.
"Violet, you're going to go back now. Your body is overflowed with anger and that's the best way to kill Damon, by unleashing your inner beast." I didn't understand what my mom just said but I nodded either way. I wanted to stay with them, have more time to talk to them but I knew I couldn't. I had to return and do what I was supposed to do.
Both my parents kissed my forehead before stepping back and allowing my soul to flow back into my body.
I felt a sudden jolt of electricity run throughout my body. My veins were pumping with resentment and it felt like something was trying to get out, trying to break free, and I let it. The next thing I heard was a roar, a dragon's roar. I opened my eyes and saw that I was on fire, literally on fire. I looked above me and gasped when I saw that a huge dragon was hovering above me.
The dragon was made up of fire. It had water and air surging through its arms and legs and its tail was of made of elemental earth. I should've felt mortified but I didn't, I felt secure. I looked at Damon and smirked when I saw his shocked face. The dragon first blew fire at the death demon that was trying to finish off Eros, killing it instantly.
I opened my arms wide and the dragon open its mouth and started collecting up all of his elements to attack Damon. Damon seemed to snap out of his daze and understood what was going on since he did the same.
When I knew that I was ready, I threw my arms forward and in turn, the dragon blew its power in Damon's direction and in turn Damon did the same. Both of us kept on sending our powers against each other and I was getting worn out but I knew I had to persist and finish this.
I doubled my power and then tripled it. Damon tried his hardest to do the same but couldn't match my might. I let out a scream as I gave it my all. It worked, by the sound of Damon yelling out in agony, I knew he was defeated. All of a sudden, his voice stopped and I heard nothing else. I fell to the ground breathing heavily but felt relief taking over me.
I did it, I finally did it.
I grew dizzy as I started to see people coming my way. Someone cradled me in their arms and kissed my forehead.
"Don't worry babydoll, I'm right here." I let out a tired laugh as I heard Eros's voice. I was too beaten up so I willingly surrendered to darkness.
