Ch.23
Violet's P.O.V.
"Giovanni?"
But Eros didn't hear me. He kept on kissing my neck, holding me possessively close to him. Giovanni was staring at me with unreadable eyes but sadness was clearly written on his features. I put my hands on Eros's chest and pushed him away. He stumbled backwards and looked at me confused. He soon noticed me staring at someone behind him making him turn around.
Oh my Gosh, what have I done!
I completely forgot that Giovanni was my escort for tonight. Guilt took over me as he looked at the floor with clenched fists. I took a step forward, trying to make my way to Giovanni but Giovanni's cold glare refrained me from doing so.
"So you've been with him all along, right?!" I flinched. His voice was rough, cold and shallow. I stared at the ground, too ashamed, not knowing how to answer.
"Answer me!" he yelled. I looked at him and bit my lip when I saw that his jaw was rigid.
"She can answer you whenever she wants," Eros said, his voice low and dangerous. My eyes quickly wandered to him. He was tense, glaring at Giovanni.
Giovanni's eyes snapped to Eros.
"You're in no f-cking place to talk Eros," he snarled.
My eyes went wide when Giovanni swore. He was really angry, he never swore.
This is all my fault, this is all my fault !
"Giovanni," I surprised myself when his name escaped my lips.
Both of their attention turned to me and I swallowed hard.
"I can be with whoever I want and besides, I am not dating you, Giovanni. You aren't my boyfriend. You cannot come here and start yelling at me demanding answers when you have no right to. I picked Eros and I'm glad I did." I knew I was going to regret this tomorrow. Eros is so going to use this against me.
"Then what about the date that we went on? And you saying yes to escorting me?" he demanded, his voice rising. I stared at him, and yet again, not knowing how to answer.
What should I tell him? I can't just say 'oh hey, I just did that to make Eros jealous'!
From the corner of my eye, I saw Eros freeze. Please God, please tell me he didn't put the pieces together. He turned his head sideways, a smirk playing on his lips with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"If someone close asked you if they can escort you, would you say no, Giovanni?" It was Eros who spoke this time. Giovanni didn't reply back, he just stared at Eros with an unreadable expression.

"Did Violet tell you that the double date was a friendly date? She looked bored. That's why I asked her if she would like to come with us too. But I didn't want her to feel like a third wheel so I told her to ask any of you guys out, and she picked you." My jaw practically hit the floor.
Eros was... sticking up for me.
I mentally smiled. Even though that sounded like a lame excuse to get me out of this situation, but it was really sweet of him.
"I hardly believe that it was a 'friendly' date." He looked at me.
"Had fun playing with my heart?" His voice got higher.
"I bet you did. And you!" He turned his attention to Eros and did the last thing I expected him to. He took a swinf at Eros but luckily, Eros moved sideways. Giovanni kept on throwing punches at him but Eros avoided them by either ducking or moving away from Giovanni's reach. The thing that surprised me the most was Eros not returning the hits. He looked calm moving away from Giovanni, but that kept on making Giovanni more nervous and angry.
This is my entire fault! If I didn't open my big mouth then nothing of this would have happened!
"Why aren't you fighting back, huh? Too scared?" Giovanni growled.
"You're not yourself right now, Giovanni. Your heart is broken and confused. You don't know what you're doing." Giovanni's fist collided with Eros's jaw. I gasped, putting a hand over my mouth. Eros stumbled a few steps backwards and wiped the blood off his mouth with his sleeve and the strangest thing happened. Eros's hair grew longer to reach his shoulder and his eyes turned black.
"You dare hit me?" he roared and I flinched. This was the first time I had seen Eros like that and it scared the hell out of me. This was not the Eros I knew. He looked so different and so... frightening.
"Stop it, please stop." My voice was low but I knew that they heard me. Do you know how hard it is seeing two people you care about having a smack down in front of you? Yeah, it's pretty hard. I took a couple of steps to the front till I was a few centimeters away from them.
"Eros, calm down," I murmured softly. His back was tense and his fists were clenched. I better get him out of here before Giovanni opens his mouth and provokes Eros. I turned my attention back to Giovanni. He looked so sad but at the same time angry.

And it's all my fault.
"I'm-" I couldn't find the right words.
"I'm sorry." I stared at him, praying that he'll accept my apology, though deep down, I knew he wouldn't.
"Don't worry, I'm used to it." he spat out and stalked away. I blinked back my tears. I kept on replaying what he said to me. 'Don't worry, I'm used to it.' His words cut deep into my heart. What did he mean by that?
A tear fell down my face. I'm pretty sure my friendship with Gio is now gone.
I wiped the tear.
Now is not the time to cry, Violet. Things will get better.
But when? I thought to myself. Giovanni will never speak to me again after this!
I sighed and walked to Eros.
"Are you okay?" I put my hand on his arm.
"Yeah, but my demon is going crazy wanting blood. His blood." He looked at me, his eyes returning back to normal.
"Wait, so that was your demon back there?" He nodded.
"I was trying to control him but he was having none of it." He sighed, rubbing his temples.
"Com'n, we have to go back there." I nodded and followed him back to the ball room.
---
"Well Claudia can drive you crazy sometimes." The blonde-haired queen laughed lightly, a big smile on her face. I laughed, if only she knew. Claudia doesn't only drive a person mad, she makes him go into hysterics till he needs a mental hospital.
Claudia was standing next to me, a small smile forming on her face as she listened to her mother. Well, to say the least, they looked very alike; the same hair, eyes and smile. The difference between them was that Celia, Claudia's mom, was very calm while Claudia was a spit fire. Thalia, the queen of werewolves, also joined us. We talked for a while before Queen Celia excused herself and was accompanied by a butler to escort her to her chamber. Soon, Queen Thalia did the same, saying that she needed some sleep since it was a tiring day.
The Queen of Vampires only stopped to congratulate me while the Queen of Demons sent me a small smile before following her husband to their chamber. And here I was, standing next to Claudia while watching couples dancing.
I went still when I noticed a hand on my lower back.
"Hello beautiful." I let out a sigh of relief when I saw that it was Eros. He was about to say something else when someone behind us coughed, making us turn around.
"Sorry for interrupting your highness but his majesty requested you attendance," A black haired man stated looking at Eros. The first thing I noticed was Eros clenching his fists. He nodded stiffly then turned to me. He smiled apologetically before following the man.
I wonder what his father wants him for...
Eros's P.O.V.
"Ah, hello son. Take a seat." He ushered me into the dark chamber. I stiffly walked into the room and sat in front of him, waiting for him to talk.
"As you know, there's a prophecy about a girl, a girl that will save the world of all evilness." I knew where he was going.
'We can't let the prophecy come true because it may lead to the destruction of the demon kingdom since we are associated with the Demons of Death' shit.
The Demons of Death are simply the most blood thirsty and dangerous creatures of all time. They are a part of the demon kingdom. The reason why my father didn't ban them from our land was because he wanted power.
Son of a bitch.
"Go straight to the point father," I spat.
"Watch your tongue boy!" he bellowed.
It took all of my might not to knock him out cold. I hate that excuse of a father. He turned my life into a living hell. He turned the life of my mother into a living hell, but I'm going to make sure he pays for it.
"Yes, father." He smirked, satisfied.
"There's a big possibility that the girl is the princess of the witch kingdom, the one that Connor introduced today." I kept my expression neutral. He waited for me to say something but continued on when he saw that I won't say anything.
"And I've heard you've been training her." At that, my ears perked.
How did he know?
"We must keep a close eye on her. You must keep a close eye on her. The future of your country depends on it." He stood up and walked in the direction of the door.
"What if she isn't the girl in the prophecy?"
"We leave her alone."
"And what if she is?"
I closed my eyes afraid of his answer.
"We kill her."
