"What time will your folks be home?" Cas asked, flopping himself down on the couch cushion next to Noah.
Noah glanced over at him before answering. "Not for another while yet. At least five or six hours, probably longer."
"Nice one." Cas commented, pulling the lever and extending the leg of the chair out into a recliner. "What do you wanna do?"
Noah could think of plenty of things he'd like to do with Cas while they were home alone, but none of them he could say aloud.
"Movie?" He suggested, fighting a faint blush as he pushed down his inappropriate thoughts. He thanked the dim lighting in the room for keeping his secret hidden.
"Ugh, I'm sick of movies." Cas complained, throwing his he'd back.
"How can you be sick of movies?" Noah mused.
"I just am," Cas shrugged. "I want to do something real life, not just watch a fake story."
"Documentary then?" Noah joked, earning him an unamused glare from Cas.
"Very funny Noah. Ever consider being a comedian?" Casimir deadpanned, running a band through his silver hair.
"Someone's feeling particularly sarcastic today." Noah said with a laugh. Casimir always looked so cute when he was in a little sulk.
"Sorry, just tired." Cas said, yawning on cue as if to illustrate his point.
"Everything good?" Noah asked, brows furrowed with concern. It was unlike Cas to be actually put off about something.
"Yeah, just had a long night."
A long night? "Oh. Oh." Noah said, realization dawning on him. A long night.
"Yeah." Said Casimir, running his thumb along the inseam the sleeve of his hoodie.
"Who's the lucky girl?" Noah asked, fighting to keep his voice level. In the last couple of months, he had managed to convince himself that Casimir didn't really date girls anymore. Deep down he knew the truth, but it hurt a lot more to hear it out loud.
"The lucky girl?" Cas questioned, face turning towards Noah. His brows were furrowed and his expression filled with confusion.
"Yeah.. long night you said?" Noah questioned, wondering if Casimir was being purposely oblique.
"Ohh." Casimir said, realization hitting him them. "No, not like that Noah." He said, bursting out with a laugh.
"Not like that?"
"There was no girl. I just couldn't sleep." Casimir chuckled, and instantly a huge weigh lifted off Noah's stomach.
"Oh." Noah said, trying to keep his relief out of his voice.
"Yeah." Casimir said quietly, and Noah suddenly became a lot more aware of how close they were sitting.
"I just thought.." Noah trailed off, his voice barely more than a whisper. They were so close now, close enough that Noah was sure Cas would be able to hear his heart pounding.
"No. I wouldn't." Casimir breathed out, and a silence coated the room.
They stared into each other's eyes, and Noah could swear that time froze in that very moment. There was no one else in the universe, just him and Casimir. The ticking clock was the only indication that time hadn't completely ceased.

The air was heavy with words left unsaid, but not all things need to be spoken aloud to be heard.
"You wouldn't?" Noah asked, his voice barely more than a whisper.
"I wouldn't." Casimir confirmed, his own voice no louder than Noah's.
Noah wasn't going to press any more, but his words escaped him before he had a chance to filter them.
"Why?" Noah asked, voice cautious.
"Do I really need to say it."
Noah could swear his heart stopped right in that second.
"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" Noah asked once he managed to find his voice again.
"That depends." Cas answered after a moment of silence.
"On what?"
"What do you think I'm saying?"
"You know what I'm asking Cas." Noah said, slight frustration in his voice.
"Then ask me."
Silence hung over them again, and Noah released a breath he didn't realize he was holding.
"Let's play a game." Cas suggested, still sitting so close to Noah that he could count his eyelashes.
"What do you suggest?" Noah breathed out, eyes flickering down Casimir's face as he drank in the other boy's features.
"You up for truth or drink?"
Truth or drink? Noah was more than up for the game. Not only would he maybe get some answers about the accident, but maybe he would get to the bottom of this sexual tension that seemed to pulsate around the two of them.
"I'm ready when you are." Noah answered, and it was only then that he, albeit reluctantly, pulled himself away from Cas. He headed to the kitchen, grabbing a random bottle of some murky liquid from the liquor cabinet.
He stayed in the kitchen for a minute or two, needing a moment to compose himself. Whatever had happened out there, a line had been crossed. There was a change of tone of their friendship now.
They were more than friends now. Friends didn't dance around feeling like that. Sure, no confessions had been actually voiced aloud, but that wasn't important.
Noah could hardly believe his luck. If he was reading the situation correctly, and he was pretty sure he was, then Casimir just hinted to having feelings for him. Casimir had feelings for him. It was all too surreal for Noah and he almost had to pinch himself.
Deciding that he had been in the kitchen for too long and not wanting to raise Casimir's concern, Noah grabbed the bottle of whiskey and waltzed out of the kitchen, trying to keep his composure.
"Took your time." Casimir observed with a smirk, as if he could read Noah's thoughts.
"Shut up Cas." He replied, rolling his eyes at his best friends antics.
"How about you make me?" Cas suggested, and only now did Noah pick up on the suggestive undercurrent of Casimir's tone. He was suddenly hyper aware of every tease and innuendo that left Casimir's mouth.
"How do you suggest I do that?" Noah flirted back, adding fuel to the fire.
"I have a few ideas in mind." Cas replied, eyes twinkling with amusement.

"As do I." Noah replied, regaining his previous seat across from Casimir on the couch.
"Enlighten me?"
Noah leaned towards Cas, a devilish glint in his eye. "I've got some duct tape upstairs." He joked, leaving Cas surprised.
The other boy recovered quickly. "Not what I was expecting. Kinky though, I like it." He smirked.
"What were you expecting?" Noah asked, though he knew the answer.
A kiss.
"You're a bright guy Noah, I'm sure you can figure it out."
"Whatever, let's just start the game." Noah said with a laugh, placing the bottle of whiskey on the small table he pulled up beside them.
"Ground rules?" Cas asked, leaning to his right to unscrew the top of the bottle.
"It's called Truth Or Drink, Cas. I don't think the rules could be any more obvious." Noah said with a roll of his eyes.
"So basically, we take turns asking questions, and you can either answer or drink?" Cas asked, giving Noah a 'just double checking' look.
"Essentially, yes." Noah replied with a shrug. "You wanna go first?"
Cas nodded, and a silence momentarily fell over them as he thought of a question. "What can you remember about the accident?"
Wow, way to go straight it.
Noah blinked, taken aback by the question. What happened to the good ole "do you have a crush" question?
"Nothing, really. A few sounds, shouting and stuff. A scream. Ambulance sirens. All that general kinda stuff." Noah said, voice heavy.
Casimir nodded, but didn't press for anything further. "Your turn."
Well if Cas could go straight for the hard hitting questions, Noah felt he had the right to do the same.
"Is your family somehow involved in the accident? Like in any way, shape or form?" He asked, watching as Casimir's brows furrowed.
"Noah.. you know I'm not allowed to talk to you about the accident."
"I know, but let's just forget about that. For one night. Please." Noah begged, his voice taking on a desperate tone. "You don't need to tell me all of what happened.. I just need something. Some sort of answer."
Cas stared at Noah for a few minutes and Noah could see the other boy's resolve fading. "Fine, but I'm not telling you anything too important." Cas said, defeated by Noah's puppy dog eyes.
Noah fought back a smile at his little victory. "So?" He prompted. "What's the answer?"
Casimir was silent for a second, before finally speaking.
"Yes."
One simple word, but it cut the room with its power. Noah sucked in a sharp breath. He knew it! He didn't know how the Daniels family was involved, but he knew that they were.
"How?" He pressed, leaning forward eagerly in his seat.
"It's my turn to ask the question Noah." Casimir responded, looking uncomfortable about spilling details of the accident.
"Fine." Scowled Noah, leaning back against the armrest of the couch.
"How was therapy?"
Noah had to hand it to Cas, he sure knew how to be sly. After his first meeting with Dr Fuller, he had purposely avoided the question when Cas had asked how it went.
"Surprisingly okay. Seth- Doctor Fuller, he's nice enough."
Casimir eyed him, clearly wanting Noah to delve into further detail. Noah just shrugged in response. "Not much else to tell." He said, and Cas finally dropped his look.
"Your turn."
Noah pondered for a minute. It was like he had everything and nothing to ask Cas at the same time.
"Where has Sam been the last couple of months?"
Casimir's lips pursed for a moment, and to Noah's chagrin he reached his arm out, grabbing the bottle and taking a long swig.
Alas, the drinking had begun.
"Do you talk about me with your therapist?" Cas asked, putting the bottle of liquor between them.
Noah just smirked, reaching forward and grabbing the bottle by the neck. No way was he boosting Casimir's ego by telling him the truth.
Casimir's eyebrow raised suggestively but he said nothing, instead regarding Noah with a look of amusement. Noah cursed himself for being as easy to read as an open book.
"Have you lied to me about anything to do with the accident since I've been home?" He asked after a moment of deliberation.
"Not directly."
Noah didn't even have time to consider what that meant before Cas moved on to the next question.
"When did you realize you were gay?"
Noah took a drink.
"Last person you had a crush on?"
Casimir took a drink.
"Have you ever gotten off with a guy?" Cas asked.
"Yes."
"Who?" Casimir asked, brows raising in surprised.
"Nope, my turn." Noah teased in a sing song voice. "Where was your dad the night of the accident?"
Casimir took another drink.
Goddamnit, this was harder than Noah anticipated.
"What boys have you hooked up with?"
"Boy singular. Preston Calvetti, at Ruth Mason's party before senior year."
"Preston's gay?" Cas asked in surprise.
"Does that really shock you?" Noah deadpanned.
"Thinking about it now, I suppose not."
The game continued on, and it wasn't long until both the boys found themselves slightly tipsy. Not drunk, but not entirely sober.
"Your turn." Noah said, swallowing down a swig of whiskey.
"Hmm," Casimir said, pondering aloud. A mischievous glint entered his eye and Noah knew that whatever was coming next, it wasn't good.
"Have you ever been attracted to me?"
Casimir's voice was just about a whisper.
Noah stilled momentarily, before reaching for the bottle and taking a swig. His silence was more or less a positive answer anyway, but it was easier than bearing his back aloud.
"Your turn." Cas was still speaking hoarsely.
"Have you ever been attracted to me?"
He was just throwing it out there. Didn't expect an answer. If anything, he expected Cas to reach for the bottle.
But instead Casimir looked him directly in the eye.
"Yes."
