It was a clear Texas night, and my friends and I stayed inside on YouNow. We decided to go live, which is inevitable because we feed off of attention from strangers.

My friend, who I'm going to call Sam, was terrified of the idea of going live. In fact, she was so frightened by the idea of conversing with a stranger, Sam thought the best way to protect herself was by hiding in the closet. Yeah, in the closet.

"I'm sorry that I don't want to be stalked and kidnapped," she shamelessly claimed. Occasionally, she would throw in her opinion on a subject, but stayed quiet whenever she wasn't interested.

My other friend, who I'm calling Deanna, was next to me and talking to the chat with me. She doesn't give two about the possibility of being stalked and kidnapped because she always manages to carry a switch blade on her. I know, very concerning but pay attention.

We were talking to a random dude, who seemed to be the only one interacting and not just watching. Sam was scared to death of him, since he actually wanted to hold a conversation. She made sure to keep well hidden in the closet. Yes, in the literal closet.

Then, as an argumentative person who is very opinionated, Sam heard a topic to give her views on. She did because this is who Sam is, and she's lovely for having an opinion.

Well, the guy that we were talking to heard Sam for the first time. As in, he was unaware of the pale 14-year-old curled inside the closet. Yes, the closet. This is a joke waiting to happen.

The guy innocently asked, "What was that?"

"Oh, she's a bit camera shy," was not my reply to the question. No, that would've been normal and the correct thing to say.

What I really said was "She's in an actual closet, unlike me, who is in a metaphorical one."

Deanna snapped her head dramatically-not really-and gave me a look.

The look all friends know.

The girlwhatdidyoujustsay look.

Outted. Oops?
