For me the biggest lgbt milestone (yes i have loads) is being accepting, accepting towards everyone no matter what.

To some people, it may sound weird but that is just what I feel. In the start when I understood what gay meant, which I had to interpret and understand all by myself because most (all) people around me looked upto it as something shameful and refused to discuss it, my first thought was 'yeah so? whats wrong with that? you can't control who you fall in love with.' and I remember talking about it to my mother and her telling me how I needed to change the way I thought because I was letting "satan overcome (my) senses."

For months, multiple people online, those who were accepting of the community asked me if I was from the community and I remember dismissing it as "everyone's a little gay" because that's what I genuinely thought.

For me the biggest milestone is something I thought before I was part of the community because if it wasn't for my open mindedness I would've never looked much into it and understood that it was something I felt too and I would've lived my entire life the way the people around me do, living in this little bubble and thinking that there was something missing.

Today, I am a proud bisexual but closeted excluding a few people because of the negativity around me. Being accepting is my greatest lgbt milestone because it marked the beginning of my journey, the beginning of me.

Besides that, I feel every moment in this community where people are loved and accepted regardless of our differences is a milestone.
