Hi, I'm Val, or Terri, I'm 13, soon to be 14. Your probably thinking, what's your story in the lgbtq+ community? Well, I think we should start from the beginning, I guess.

I was born in a Catholic family, first of 2 girls. I always knew I was girl, and I never thought differently. I was taught to treat people like they were family, and I did.

But I didn't really know what gender I liked. I was quite confused as a kid, and was told by my neighbor (who was my age and still is) about the birds and the bees when I just 5. I was confused by it, so it made no sense until I was in 5th grade.

I knew I liked girls as much as guys, and I treat people who were close to me as my family, as my sister became ill and was in the hospital with my mother by her side, while ny dad was at work, so I never saw them as much as a normal girl.

Flash forward to me going into 6th grade, and I was close to ending my own life, but chickened out. I was bullied the year before by my entire class and my own "best friend". It basically almost drove me to my breaking point. So, instead of not staying in the shadows I decided to change. I started to be a little meaner to people I didn't trust, and my "best friend" (ya that one) pretend like 5th grade never happened. That year she came out to make as bisexual.

And boy was I confused as hell.

She explained to me she like guys and girls, which was a whole new topic for me. She then introduced me to pansexuality, or omnisexuality.

I did have a crush or two on a couple of girls and a guy who identifed as genderfluid (one as trans), and a girl who's bi, but I didn't know exactly what that meant to be completely honest.

7th came its way and I had met my best friend (whom we also share a birthday, which I find hilarious). A couple of weeks ago, she came out to me as bisexual. I had only knew what I was ((pansexual)) about a month before, and she and another girl knew about my (what I call) my "questioning period".

Then I came out to her as pansexual. We were both kind of surprised, but we felt proud of eachother.

I have started coming out to my friends, and I have yet to come out to my family, which I will maybe update you on that in the future.
