When I was around 23 years old. A girl from my relatives was interested in me and liked me. But I paid no attention to her.

One day, she managed to trap me in an empty house and locked the door. I thought with myself, Rajab Ali! Allah can test you many times, come and test Allah just this once! And don't commit this sin for the sake of Allah (swt). Then I prayed to Allah and said, My lord, I will avoid and leave this sin for your sake, and in return I want you to nurture me yourself and help me improve spiritually.

Then, He bravely just like Prophet Yusuf (as) rejected her and avoided getting tainted by sin. He managed to escape from her trap with the help of Allah (swt).

After this incident, his knowledge increased greatly. He was able to see things with his eyes that other humans aren't able to see & hear things with his ears that other humans couldn't hear. In a way that, when he came out of his house, he could see some people's true inner selves & some secrets would get revealed to him.

He said, "Once I crossed a few roads and walked all the way to another place, but I only saw one human face!"

He also said, "I did not have any teachers. But I said to Allah (swt) that I would leave that sin for his sake and reject it. And I want him to help me himself and to become better spiritually."

If you want to reach such high spiritual position and become someone close to Allah (swt), the only way is to avoid sinning.

Just like how he could see people's true colours, hearing things that other people can't, etc. You can also have the same abilities as him.

What you need to do is obey all commands of Allah (swt), don't go after anything haram. Do the Mustahab acts & prayers with lots of rewards. Be strict in not committing sins. Be above average in terms of piety, righteousness. Fighting with worldly desires & your Nafs. Paying attention to Islamic teachings & following them.

Then hopefully, Allah (swt) will help you and open your eyes to have divine insight & remove the curtain from your ears.
