● "The virtue of the earliest opportunity over the latest is as the virtue of the Hereafter over this world's life."
● Imam Sadiq (as) was once asked why the one who abandons the prayer is considered an infidel and not the fornicator, to which he replied, "Because the fornicator and other [such sinners] commits the sin out of a desire that overcomes him, whereas the one who abandons the prayer only does so because he does not take it seriously, deeming it insignificant."

Al-Qazzaz narrated, "Imam Reza (as) went out to await the arrival of some people who were coming to visit him when the time for prayer set in. He went towards a nearby fort and took shade under a rock, saying, 'Announce the call for prayer.' I replied, 'Why don't we wait for our companions to catch up with us?' He replied, 'May Allah forgive you. Do not ever delay the prayer from the earliest moment of its onset to the latest without a good excuse. You must always pray at the earliest time', so I announced the call for prayer and we prayed."
It is narrated that when Imam Ali (as) used to stand for prayer, he would be like a fixed structure or a straight pillar, not moving at all, and sometimes when he would bow or prostrate, [he would be so still that] a bird would perch itself on him. Nobody was ever able to match the prayer of the Prophet (saw) apart from Ali b. Abi Talib and Imam Zayn al-Abidin] (as)."
It is narrated that when Imam Hassan Mujtaba (as) used to perform his ablution the colour of his face would change and his joints would tremble. When he was asked about this once, he replied, "It is only fitting for one who stands before the Lord of the Throne that his face should change colour and his joints should tremble."
•••
said, "I heard from Prophet Muhammad (saw), whoever doesn't do their daily prayers out of ignorance and can't remember how many prayers they missed, should perform 50 rakat on Monday night. Then fast on Monday and during noon, perform 50 rakat (25 prayers of 2 rakat). Once you finish, say: 'Astaghafirullahi Rabbi Wa Atubu Ilayhi.' (Verily, I seek the forgiveness of Allah, who is my Lord and Sustainer, and I turn to Him in repentance.) Doing this counts as 100 years of missed prayers. But if they know how many prayers they've missed. Then they must perform all of them."
: The information above does not mean that all your missed prayers will be removed from your scroll of deeds. You must know, it gives you Hasanats of that many years of prayers but it's not going to replace them! You should try and perform your missed prayers as much as you can.

The Patchwork Realms
Athos is a good dog. He likes frisbee, bacon, and his family (SmolFriend, Mom, and Dad). He's not so keen on falling through an interdimensional portal to a fantasy world where floating boxes tell you that you've just been given status as the 'Supreme Exemplar' of your species, a powerful package of abilities that includes human-level intelligence. Sure, being smart is nice but less so when it comes with the need to survive in a land made from bits of different dimensions stitched together like patches in a quilt. A thousand species, a thousand lands, sorcery and super science rubbing elbows, wars and intrigue everywhere...it's exhausting for a good dog who just wants to go home! Note that this is a work in progress with lots of fiddly numbers so I will occasionally need to go back and fix errors, and this might affect events of earlier chapters. I'll try to keep this to a minimum and will post a note whenever it happens. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
