I have grown up around people in the LGBTQ+ community. My aunts are lesbian, my uncles are gay, and my cousin is bisexual. So it wasn't really new to me.

One night my friends had invited me to a sleepover. It was an all girls sleepover where a majority of the girls were bisexual. I hadn't known what I was, due to not having dated anyone or anything like that. When we got there, the first thing that we did was play truth or dare, where I was dared to kiss a girl (we'll call her Cathy). So I did, not wanting to be called out on it. When I did kiss her, it felt good. Like, it made me feel butterflies in my stomach. I realized then that I liked girls. Now, I had never kissed a boy before, so I said I was bisexual because I wasn't sure if I only liked one or the other.

Fast forward to 8th grade. I had gotten my first boyfriend. We had dated for two days before I realized I wasn't really into him. Then I met a really great girl, (let's call her Andy), and she quickly became my best friend. Soon we realized we had feelings for each other, and we dated for about 2 weeks. I then realized that I liked girls more. Still unsure of what I was, I consulted one of my aunts, who said that I might be lesbian. After a few days I realized that I was in fact, lesbian. I quickly came out to my parents and my friends, happy I had discovered who I was. I was bullied a lot, but I learned that it didn't matter what they said because I was being myself. Now I am happy and glad that I have discovered myself. Thank you all for reading.
