Love isn't a choice. If you love, you love. Doesn't matter who or what they are.

I figured out I was bisexual at the end of my 7th grade school year. It had been confusing until that point, wondering how I could be attracted to both girls and guys. After talking with my best friend at that school about it, she explained that there was more than just hetero and homosexuality.

When I finally came out as bisexual to my parents as I left 8th grade, they reacted as casually as if I had just rattled off my height. My Mom reacted with a "That's cool" and my Dad was just happy for me in general.

My boyfriend at the time on the other hand was disgusted. He tried to forget about it and make it as if I never said a thing. It hurt, but I dealt with it.

Now, he's out of my life entirely. He left me for reasons unknown and stopped talking to me entirely. The joke's on him though because I didn't truly love him. I may have gotten heartbroken, yes, but I didn't love him.

Now, I can happily say I love someone. My current boyfriend, Matt, heard of my sexuality early on when we were just best friends and he actually mentions it to me when were talking. Hearing it makes me feel amazing, too, because he cares.

I encourage all of you who are scared to come put to find one person you can tell. Mine was my old best friend. It helps letting someone trusted who doesn't care know.

I'll be here for any of you who need it. If you need someone to talk to, come to me. Bi, Pan, Hetero, Homo, Asex, whatever, I'll be here for you. I'll listen to your story and I'll be a shoulder to cry on.
