It was the day before valentine's day. Another day with the boyfriend I was with because I was too nervous to leave and too nervous to tell him I didn't love him and that I didn't love boys. I got a text from one of my best friends: Melisa. When I read it, my heart skipped a beat. She told me I was beautiful and special and I made her day and that I made her laugh more than anyone else and that she wanted me to be her valentine. Since that day, everything happened. I came out to my family and my class. And everyone accepted me. The girl next to me in English came out as a lesbian too. Because of that one little thing, I've never been happier. I can hold hands with the girl who owns my heart and I can kiss her without an ounce of worry. Because of that one little thing, I realized I was not alone.

Now, teachers will smile at me when they see me with her. Now, everyone at school is that bit more accepting of people who are LGBTQ+ and I meet new people everyday. I've discovered a whole new world of people. I've discovered the world of drag kings and queens and spend my spare time experimenting with it. And on top of all of that, I discovered the Wattpad community. I definitely know that there are people like me everywhere and I don't have to hide anymore.
