The Halfling Get's Pissed

"What do you mean no sex?"

Sebastian stood dumbfounded as Victoria rounded on him. When he'd summoned her to his office that evening and informed her of his decision he had not expected this reaction.

The halfling was pissed.

He had to swallow before he could say, "It's for the best."

"Well thank you for deciding that for me, Bastian," she huffed.

Wincing he resisted the urge to tug at the collar of his shirt. Now that she'd seen his demonic form there was no point in hiding from her. Instead he decided to try and not look like the wild monster he was as much as possible.

For the first time in centuries he was wearing a fucking shirt, and he hated it. He'd already yanked open the first three buttons and rolled up the sleeves. The fabric felt foreign over his chest, constricting him. But the look of approval in Victoria's eyes when she first walked into his office had made it all worth it.

Of course now she was glaring at him. "You're angry?"

She rolled her eyes. "No shit, Sherlock."

Another throat clear. "Why?"

Victoria pursed her lips. "You may not believe this, Sebastian, but I actually enjoy sleeping with you."

Desire hit him in the gut like a hammer, his cock shooting hard as steel. Sitting down on the edge of his desk he drew in a deep breath. "You do?"

She rolled her eyes again as if this were obvious.

"But I hurt you...twice."

"Not that badly," she snapped before flushing crimson. "Okay, maybe it did hurt but it wasn't on purpose." Before he could argue she rushed on, "And I really like when you..." she broke off, her eyes darting away in embarrassment.

Fuck! Shifting he tried to ease the pressure in his jeans. "I can't pleasure you and stay in control," he rasped. "I won't be able to stop myself from taking you."

Crossing her arms over her chest she grumbled, "I still don't see the problem. It felt amazing last time."

Amazing? Sebastian coughed, rubbing a hand over his mouth. She was killing him. He could still feel her coming on his cock; the memory was stuck on replay in his mind. Keep it together, Sebastian. "I need it to feel good for you every time, Victoria. And I can't do that until I have a handle on...on myself."

"And I don't have a say in this? This isn't the dark ages, Sebastian. You can't just make decisions for me."

He was both shocked and thrilled that she was arguing with him over this. Her desire for him was like a balm over centuries of self-loathing. With one needy look she sent his confidence soaring. His eyes zeroed in on the fading mark he'd left on her neck and his fangs throbbed. She didn't even try to hide it, as if displaying it proudly. It made him want to lunge across the room, slam her little body against the wall and fuck her until they both screamed.

His cock leaked into his jeans. Stifling a groan he looked out the window, trying to remain in control as he watched the sun set through the falling snow. "You need to trust me that this is for the best."

"Bullshit." She threw her hands up with exasperation. "Any other decisions you want to make for me?"

Sighing, he focused his attention back on her. Even furious she looked so damn beautiful. Her long hair was piled high in a bun and she was wearing a pretty white cotton dress with an oversized dark blue sweater. The blue went perfectly with her pale complexion. Is that what my skin looks like against hers?

Schooling his features he forced himself to focus. As surprised and pleased as he was that she was upset over his decision there was a far more pressing matter to discuss. "Do you know who Vincent Shaw is?"

She stiffened. "Yes."

"How do you know him?"

"He was the one who told me about my father's debts." Her tone was laced with malice. "Right before he informed me that he would pay them if I became his."

Sebastian felt anger burn hot through his blood. There was no doubt he would kill the wolf. Gritting his teeth he asked, "Is that so?"

"I told him to fuck off and picked the block instead."

He resisted a smile at that. Stubborn little female. "So that's why you did it?"

"Yes, the vampire offered to wipe the debt clean if I did." She frowned. "Why are you asking me this?"

"Because we have it on good authority that he's joined with the Legion and they plan to take you."

Her eyes widened with shock. "What? Why?"

"I don't know. What can you tell me about your mother?"

She shook her head. "Nothing. She died shortly after I was born."

"And your father. He never told you about her?"

"Only after I found out I was a halfling. He told me that she was an elf and she left her kind to be with him." She looked away, her eyes watering. "And that they killed her for it."

"Victoria." Standing up he grasped her arms lightly. Her tears were like a knife in the gut.

"It's okay. But I don't think I like them very much," she admitted weakly.

"The elves? I haven't met many but I know they can be a vengeful sort."

"They were at the auction. Just sitting there, laughing, at all those poor girls being taken away." Looking up at him her lower lip trembled. "I'm nothing like that, Sebastian."

He winced. "I know you're not." Had she worried that she was?

"I just don't understand. Why would he want me? And if that is the case why didn't he just take me, why go through the auction?"

Sebastian sighed. "He probably wanted to keep away curious eyes. Kidnapping a halfling would warrant attention. I suspect he planned for you to go with him without a fuss. And when you refused..." He shrugged. "Legion auctions are common place, no one would think twice about him being there."

She gasped, "What about my father?"

"He's safe. I've taken care of it."

"I want to see him," she blurted.

Scowling he stepped away from her. "Why?"

"Because he's my father and I'm worried."

"I told you I've taken care of it. He will be safe."

"I miss him," she admitted softly.

Irritation flared within him. He understood her need to return to her father but at the same time he was disappointed. Did she not trust him to protect her family? "You just spoke with him yesterday. You were thanking me for his care."

"I know, but this changes things. He's in danger now!" she cried in frustration.

"I told you I took care of it," he snapped. "Why do you not trust me on this?"

Hitching her chin she glared at him stubbornly. "I do trust you. But why can't I see him? You said I wasn't a prisoner."

Because I don't want to share you, not with anyone. Because if you leave you may never come back. Ignoring his inner thoughts he hissed, "Because it isn't safe."

"Then come with me. You can protect me."

That took him aback. He stared at her for a moment before reality came crashing down on him. How could he possibly meet her father like this? Laughing coldly he shook his head. "Right. I'm sure you're ailing father will just love me, if I don't give him a fucking heart attack."

She exhaled loudly. "Come on, Sebastian, you're not going to give him a heart attack."

"I don't want to talk about it," he dismissed with a growl. He was done discussing the entire matter. "You are not to leave this castle. Not until Vincent is no longer a threat." Not until I find him and kill him. "I will not be moved on this."

Her eyes narrowed in anger. "So, you've made another decision for me then is that it?"

His jaw ticked, his patience slipping. "And I will continue to do so if I feel it is for the best."

"I guess you really do own me then, don't you?" she said softly. Her voice sounded cold and detached.

Shame and fury burned within him. Before he could stop himself he shouted, "I'm doing this for you!" Why could she not see this?

"Fuck you, Sebastian!" she shouted right back. "Oh wait, you don't want me!"

His eyes widened. "Victoria..." A loud knock at the door had his fist slamming onto his desk. "Son of bitch. What!?"

Jasper opened the door and entered cautiously. "Am I interrupting?"

He shot the other demon a death look. "Yes."

Victoria snorted. "I was just leaving." Shooting him a look that promised this fight wasn't over she stormed out of his office.

Glowering, Sebastian watched her leave. Well fuck, that did not go as planned. He hadn't even had a chance to tell her he wanted more with her. That he'd come to care for her.

And now she was upset with him. He very badly wanted to kill someone.

After a moment Jasper asked amused, "I take it the talk didn't go well?"

"Fuck off."

******

"Damn that demon," Victoria grumbled under her breath.

Stomping down the castle halls she resisted the urge to punch a wall. What a jerk! She'd woken up that afternoon with such high hopes. Then bam, dashed to the floor.

No sex, what the hell? She knew Sebastian was worried he'd hurt her again but she couldn't deny that having him make such a decision without even asking pissed her off. She'd finally discovered how amazing sex could be and he just took it away.

Part of her worried that maybe he didn't want her anymore.

Then he had to go and pull that overly domineering crap on her. Granted she found his dominant nature and protectiveness rather hot but to keep her from her own father...

"Bastard...Oaf!" Rounding a corner she smacked into what felt like a brick wall.

Rubbing her nose she stepped back. Then her eyes went wide at the man standing before. He was gorgeous, like fallen angel gorgeous. Light blonde hair shined like a halo around his classically handsome face. The soft locks were disheveled, as if he'd just rolled out of bed. There was a sword strapped to his hip, the sheath intricately engraved with gold.

Eyes the color of an oncoming storm smiled down at her, sensual lips curling into a grin. "I do apologize."

Victoria blinked. His smooth voice was more of a caress. Not as sexy as Sebastian's deep rumble but breathtaking none the less. His grin widened, small white fangs flashing. Vampire.

He offered his hand. "You must be Victoria."

"Uh...yes." She accepted his hand hesitantly. Turning it he raised it to his mouth, brushing his lips over her skin.

"Charles Lockhart. It is a pleasure." Standing upright he looked her over curiously. "So you are the halfling? Extraordinary. Sebastian is a lucky man."

"Yes I am," Sebastian's deep voice sounded from behind her. Victoria jumped. Sliding his arm around her waist Sebastian pulled her to his side. "Charles, it's been a long time."

"Before your curse." Charles eyes gleamed with interest as he took in Sebastian's demonic form. "Fascinating. Damian, is this not fascinating?"

Another male leaned to the side behind Charles. Victoria just resisted a gasp. If Charles was an angel this man was the exact opposite, dark and sinister with blood red eyes and jet black hair.

A forsaken vampire? Here?

"Fascinating..." he drawled with boredom.

Sliding his hands into a pair of finely tailored grey slacks Charles introduced them, "Lord Sebastian this is Damian-"

"The Reaper. We've meet," Sebastian snarled.

"You have?" Charles looked between Damian and Sebastian with raised brows. "You didn't try to kill him did you?"

Damian shrugged. "Possibly."

"We fought each other during the war against Lord Ivan. You killed many of my soldier's if memory serves," Sebastian growled.

Charles coughed. "I'm sure he feels badly about that." The forsaken raised a brow, his face not even remotely remorseful.

"It's of no importance now," Sebastian rumbled. "We have other matters to discuss."

Victoria scowled. "Do these matters involve Vincent Shaw?"

Sebastian turned away from her. "That is none of your concern, little one."

Her frustration with him returned full force. "The hell it isn't...Hey, don't walk away from me!"

Sighing loudly Sebastian glanced at her from over his shoulder. "I will speak with you later."

He was dismissing her! She gawked at him...for a whole two seconds. "I'm not going to let this go, Bastian. You and I will have words." Turning on her heel she smiled sweetly at Charles. "It was nice meeting you."

He grinned, bowing his head slightly. "You as well."

Sebastian scowled deeply, his golden eyes flashing between the two of them. Feeling a wave of satisfaction she walked away, head high. This wasn't over. It was time she put her foot down with the temperamental demon.
