《Zyon: The Alpha Of The North》Chapter Twenty-Six

I've been in this room for about a day now and I'm quite literally going insane. I don't know how Violet has been able to survive isolation for five days. There's nothing to do but sit here with my thoughts.
Zyon hasn't come here at all. Not that I mind, after what he did to me. I need my distance from him. It's hard to believe that all of this has gone down after a week of him finding out he is my mate. I realize now why his pack is known for its torture methods. Even isolation, in its simplest form is torture.
The sun is streaming in from the little window. Zyon said I'd be in isolation for two days, so I am assuming that he'd let me out tonight.
I don't know how exactly I feel about him. Two nights ago, I was considering giving him a chance, but at this point, I want nothing to do with him and how he treated me. He left me unable to walk for half a day and I was angry that he was able to do that to me without my being able to fight back. But I was also more than ever a little scared of him. There were conversations that we hadn't even had yet. How would he react to those revelations? Would my life always be him blowing up over differences in opinions?
I hear my door being unlocked, but I stay on the floor hugging my knees closer to my chest. I smell the food before I see it. A trolley of different assortments of food is pulled into the room by a woman in a grey uniform. Behind her, Zyon strolls into the room. His eyes land on me, but I still don't move from the floor.

The anxiety in my stomach begins to build, as I hear him tell the woman:
He crouches down next to me, and tucks a stray piece of hair behind my ear.
I resist the urge to spit in his face, but I comply nonetheless. I tell myself it's because I'm quite hungry and not because I'm a little afraid of him. From the corner of my eye, I see a smile take over his face. Him thinking he's been successful in turning me into a submissive, compliant mate for him. I push down the anger that bubbles in my stomach.
I need to stay calm. Getting angry is not going to get me out of this situation. If I was ever going to truly, get away from him, I was going to have to convince him to take another. I'm sure that Aly Ross would be more than happy to comply.
We eat our food in silence, with him glancing up at me every once in a while. I keep my gaze trained on my plate, and do not bother looking up. Once, we are finished, Zyon knocks on the door to the room twice. The door is opened, and the woman walks in to remove the trolley and dishes. I assume that Zyon is going to leave with her, but he stays behind, and the room door is locked once more. I turn away from him and look out the room window.
He walks towards me, places his hands on my arms and then whispers into my ear,
The anger in me begins to bubble up again. I shove his hands off my arms but keep my back to him. He just places his hands back on my waist and whispers again,
That's when my anger overtakes me. I turn around swiftly, and throw my fist towards his face, which he catches easily before it hits him. He says, with a stupid smug smile on his face.

I grit out, with clenched teeth.
I say, quietly. I know what questions he wants to ask. I just don't want to answer them.
He says. His intent is clear on his face. He would make me answer everything, in order to satiate his curiosity. Perhaps, because I was his fated mate, I needed to answer all these questions. It was probably the only thing I owed him. But I was in no mood to answer his questions after what he did to me.
He seats himself comfortably on the bed, while I stand near the wall, the window behind me.
My eyes go a little wide and my breathing slows. I did not expect that he would catch onto that one. He continues, "
I run my hand through my hair. There's no harm in telling him. I don't even know why I lied the first-time round about this.
His jaw tightens and his eyes harden. I know I've struck a nerve and I'm smiling to myself on the inside because I've managed to shake his composure.
He scoffs, and then says,
And just like that, he's won again, because this time, my jaw hardens. He continues.
He questions.
I snap my mouth shut. Explaining what my position was meant an unravelling of my entire life story, the moon Goddesses' curse and all the events that led up to where I was today.
After a couple seconds of silence, he says,
I shrug my shoulders as I say,
He moves from his position on the bed and takes a couple of steps towards me.
He couldn't catch me in a lie there, because it was true. When I repressed my scent, I didn't want a mate. I wanted a life of my own.
There's a couple minutes of silence in the room, and then he asks,
I feel shivers go up my spine. I look away from him, swallow, and look back at him. Then I slowly say,
He rubs his hand over his stubble.
I hear him let out a sigh.
I don't respond to him. I feel him reach out and grab my hand, then I'm pulled to him roughly.
My throat goes dry, but I remain silent. I think this just adds to his frustration, because he interlaces his fingers through my hair and pulls back, my eyes interlocking with his.
His eyes harden. He scoffs.
He heads over to the door and knocks twice. The door is unlocked. An evil smile overtakes his face that causes me to shudder.
I know he isn't letting me off for the sake of it. He has something planned, and it leaves me shivering in anticipation.
