《Zyon: The Alpha Of The North》Chapter Ten

I zip out of the door, and run as fast as I can towards the back entrance. I hear a thunderous growl behind me that shakes me to my very core. Then I hear the sound of furniture being thrown around the room, before I bolt out the door. I know Zarah and Yasmeen must have done something to create a diversion for me.
I'm thinking at the speed of light, knowing I can't outrun him without my wolf. When I had my wolf I was quite fast on my feet, but without her, I know I wouldn't get far, so I think about where I can get into a cab or a car and drive away. The first thought that pops into my head is of the pack garage. I have the upper-hand because I know the terrain. I can run through the forest, instead of on the main road. I'd get there faster.
I bolt through the woods and thank myself that I'm not wearing heels. Flats are an extraordinary blessing today. I begin to hear the thundering of paws behind me. I know he's coming. I'm panicking, zipping over shrubs and rocks, trying my best not to trip. My brain is overflowing of what would happen if he caught me. I can't be Luna to the Alpha of the North. Daniel. Daniel. Daniel. It's all I think.
I keep thinking about the anger in his eyes. What he'd do to me, if he found out, I knew for years. I see the turning up ahead. I'm so close, I'm so close. All I have to do is get into a car. I'd figure out my next steps from there. I'm so wrapped up in my own head, that I don't see the shadows emerging from the bushes infront me. I don't see them until I'm about thirty paces away from the garage and he pops up in front of me, with the most malicious look in his eyes.
I skid to a stop, looking up at him. There's a good ten paces of distance between us. I look to my right. The shadows transition into wolves coming out from behind the trees. I look behind me, there are wolves from the midnight pack behind me too. I look up at him, I guess he notices the fear and panic in my eyes as lips morph into a smirk. He thinks he's won. I look to my left. There aren't any wolves there. I look back at him, and then to my left.

But it's too late, I've taken off again. Desperately running through the trees. I can't let him get to me. I hear paws running right after me, but I need to think. Just aimlessly running, won't get me away from him. I know I need to come up with something, but the panic going through my head overpowers my sense to be rational. I've barely been running two minutes, when I turn my head to my right and see a wolf overtake me, jump towards me and skid to a stop. Zyon's wolf is now standing in front of me, and has adopted a defensive stance. He growls at me and bares his canines. I can't help but admire his wolf. It's strong, the wolf of an Alpha. It's black with streaks of gold running through it. But the admiration is short-lived. I turn around to see wolves coming out of every bush around me, they completely surround me, making a circle. All adopting defensive stances. I know I can't run. I look helplessly at Zyon, swallowing loudly. He knows I'm nervous, and ready to take off the minute I'm given a chance. With his pack wolves surrounding me, he goes behind a tree, I hear the cracking of bones, his transition back into human form. He walks out from behind the tree, clad in his navy blue jeans.
His abs and muscles are on full display. The last time I saw him shirtless I was sixteen. My eyes zoom over him, taking in the ways his body has changed before I quickly avert my eyes. Most mates probably wouldn't be able to look away but I've had years of practice.
He walks towards me. Goddess, my legs are itching to run. I take a few steps back, but the wolf behind me snarls. I turn my head to glare at him, but when I turn back, Zyon is right in front of my face. So close that I can smell his breath, too damn close. I can't think. I just close my eyes. I can't handle the eye contact. I can't handle anything in his situation.
" I hear him call out. I peel my eyes open, to find the wolves leaving. When they're far enough to not be seen, I turn back to him. And then without taking even a second to process, I bolt straight, deeper into the forest. I hear a snarl behind me. I know he was already pissed, but I know this time, if he catches me, pissed would be an understatement. Before I can get twenty paces away from him though, I feel him crash into me. We go tumbling onto the ground, him landing on his back, me on top of him, with my hair falling all over our faces. I immediately attempt to get up, but before I know it, he's flipped us. I'm lying on my back and he's on top of me. I snap my eyes closed.

I feel him run his finger along my cheek, down to my lips. The sparks explode on my skin, sparks I hadn't felt for years.
I kept my eyes sealed shut. He'd already succeeded in capturing me, he wasn't going to have his every command obeyed. My keeping my eyes shut was a little bit of resistance on my part. My fight to regain control- as stupid as it sounds. I heard him snarl, then I felt his hands snake around my waist. He lifted me up and slammed me back into the ground, hard. My eyes popped open from the pain, as I let out a groan of disapproval.
He was heavy, I was barely able to move underneath him.
"
I look up at him, as I struggle to get out, I slam my hands into the ground, using my nails to try to claw my way out from underneathhim. I couldn't use my legs. He had them completely bound underneath him. I look up to see his hazel eyes, flickering, between hazel to gold. I knew I had to be careful or his wolf would be in control. So I settled down, and just looked at him.
With that, he stood up.
I scrambled up, as fast I could. " I spit out at him.
His head snaps to mine. His eyes glowing golden now. I've triggered his wolf. He stomps towards me and his hand latches onto my wrist as he pulls me towards him. Even though I'm quite tall, he still towers over me and snarls out,
I gulp and look away. He snarls out, his voice barely sounding like his own. His hand is still latched onto my wrist. I know it's going to leave a bruise as he starts pulling me along. I know what comes next, he's going to whisk me off to his own pack. My heels dig into the ground trying to delay the inevitable. But I think he's had it with me, because when we're super close to the main packhouse, he stops. "
My eyes snap up to his. "
With that he grabs my legs and throws me over his shoulder, before I could move. With one hand he holds my thighs down as hard as possible. I fight hard to ignore the way, his hands feel on my bare thighs. With the other, he holds onto my legs.
I turn my hands into fists and pound his back, but it does nothing to deter him. I scream profanities at him all the way to the pack house.
He replies, after which I feel him smack my ass hard. My back lurches forward.
I feel my cheeks burn with embarrassment. He just spanked me. His hand was on my ass. He spanked me.
I hear the sound of a car being unlocked. I know what's going to happen. I start screaming as loud as I can for my pack members. I just hear him chuckle. He throws me into the back seat of the car. I scramble up immediately, but his hands just clamp down on my legs.
"
Rope. Wait. No. I start kicking my legs, and finally managed to land one to his chest. He snarls out. He climbs up on top of me again. He snarls into my face. Then he shoves his face right into my neck and sniffs me. His stubble touching my neck. I go rigidly still underneath him. Suddenly, I feel rope around my ankles and I know his pack member has assisted in tying me up. I open my mouth to scream again, but he clamps his hand down onto my mouth. He grabs some remaining rope from his pack member and then ties up my wrists with his other free hand. I try to get out but he's just too strong. Without my wolf and with the exhausting effects of today, I'm just too weak. He gets off me and stands outside the car. I know I've lost. I say nothing.
He looks at me and grins, maliciously almost.
I feel my anger beginning to rise. "I'm cut off with the door slamming shut. The pack-member I'm assuming is Michael gets into the car, and begins to drive off. Zyon isn't in the car with me. As we drive away and cross my pack's boundary, I feel my wolf stir.

Broken Skulls, a Skeleton's Tale
Summoned as a Skeleton with no name, and unable to remember who he was. On the second floor of a dungeon in the heart of a city, with adventurers all seeking fortune and glory in its depths. No weapons. No Armor. No name. Only the grim determination to stay alive... At all costs. ---------------------------- Author's Note: This is the first story I've attempted writing in roughly seven years. While my writing style may be a bit rusty, I hope to be able to provide nothing more than a good book to sit down and read for awhile. P.S. I might not be able to be consistent with updates to the story, but I'll do my best! I hope you enjoy! ---------------------------- Cover art done by ShayeSoForgetful.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
