《Bad Boy Next Door》Chapter 22: Faults and Windows

I was rehearsing what I'm going to tell him all night, I didn't even bother to welcome my parents home from their trip for I was too busy.
In my hand was the paper, written my sort of speech. My hands were terribly shaking and sweating in nervousness. I was such a jerk yesterday towards him and I needed to apologize, plus I needed to tell him something. I saw him with his friends, he just glanced at me and totally ignored me afterward.
"I'll just talk to him later" I turned my heel to walk out of my embarrassment and in accident I bumped into Megan.
"Are you blind?!" She brushes her top like dust was scattered all over it.
"Sorry" I immediately said, I didn't want trouble so I walk pass her but she caught my arm.
"Wait, I still have something to say" she smirks evilly.
"Make it quick, I don't have time" I boredly said as I yank my arm out of her grasp.
"You might want to hear it" her friend said cocking a smile the same as Megan, she seem like Megan's clone starting my head to toe.
"What?" I roll my eyes at her.
"I might have won this war" she licks her upper lip.
"What do you mean?" My brows meeting each other as I sink in the thought of Megan's words.
"Chace, he came crawling back to me last night. I told you he'll get bored with you" she said gaining a triumphant smirk on her lips. "We had so much fun, well if you know what I mean." She winks, the paper that I was holding was now all crumpled as I fisted my hand.
I wouldn't want to make her notice that it affected me, though it felt like a spear to my heart. "Good for you then" I smiled at her. "You deserve each other" I said not wanting her to trace my real feelings underneath.
"I know!" She giggles annoyingly, though I wanted to slap her both cheeks but I restrained myself from doing it. I wouldn't want to stoop down to her level.
"If you'd excuse me, I have other things to do." I then walked away, I don't want to hear more of the details.
Looking at my fist and felt the crumpled paper. "Stupid." I muttered to myself. I threw the paper at a nearby trash can.
I don't have the right to get hurt for it was my fault, I pushed him away but if he really liked me he shouldn't have crawled back to Megan in his sorrow.

"You okay?" Amy asked as I have my head buried under my arms. I gave her a thumbs up in reply.

"She's been like that since I got here" Maggie said bitting her apple.
"What's the problem?" Amy asked her.
"I don't know and don't bother asking, she won't answer you" I can picture Maggie's sour facial expression.
"Hush!" I stopped them both, finally lifting my head up and the light almost blinding me.
"What's with you?" Amy ask. I didn't get to answer as Pheobe arrived, but thank Goodness.
"Hey girls!" Pheobe greeted with a huge grin on her face "I heard this gossip, that our school's bad boy was turned down by some girl and is now rebounding on Megan." She nodded, I slam my palm onto the table taking the girls aback.
"THAT'S BULLSHIT!" I took my bag with me, storming out of the cafeteria. But as I walked out the door I bumped into someone again, and that someone in my bad luck was Chace "Ahm I-"
"Watch where you're going next time" he plainly said but before he can enter the cafeteria. I had the courage to speak, probably out of pissed. I wanted to hate him but there's just this part of me that still blames me about what was happening, if only I had accepted his affection and all of this wouldn't have happened.
"Are the rumors true?" I ask him, looking at him with now worry eyes.
"What rumors?"
"Megan." I simply said trying to hide the hurt.
"Why would you even care if the rumors are true? Don't worry, no one knows it's you" his expression was just blank and lifeless.
"I'm sorry Chace" I finally said.
"You don't feel the same way and I totally understand" he gave me a faint smile.
"But-"
"Let's just pretend that nothing happened and that we don't know each other, it'll benefit us both."
"But-"
"Bye Cathy" he didn't let me finish my words and went inside.
This is all my fault.

"Hi Honey!" Mom greeted me as I entered the house.
"Hi Mom" I said with tiredness, just letting the bag slide down my arm to the floor.
"You okay?"
"I'm good, just tired" I kissed her on the cheeks.
"Okay, you should rest then" she pats my shoulder in comfortness.
"Thanks" I said before going up to my room, dragging my bag with me. I looked at the mess that I had made, from the scratch papers that are lying everywhere to the ballpens that I tried that will complement my penmanship. I sighed and started tidying the mess, I found this paper that had the same words on the paper that I threw.
"I hate me." I then broke down to tears. After crying for some time, Pheobe called.

Hey!

Ending the call, I took a deep breath and climb towards the window to Chace's room.
"Chace?" I knocked on the window "Chace!" I saw him laying on his bed, his eyes widen as he saw me by his window "Do you mind?" I pointed on the lock.
"What the hell are you thinking?" He opens the window, me leaping inside his room. It wasn't the first time I've entered his room but it seems much cleaner this time "Why are you here?" He leans on his desk, crossing his arms.
"I-I'm" I cleared my throat "I need to explain"
"I'm not stupid Cassie" This is the first time that he called me Cassie that I didn't felt butterflies instead it was like a stab to the heart "I'm not stupid, I know what your words meant."
"Just let me finish my explanation first, okay?"
"Cas-"
"Shut up!" I put my palm over his face stopping him.
"Fine" he pushed my hand away and sat on his desk chair.
"Here goes!" I sucked in a breath "There was this day maybe 4 days ago, I don't exactly remember the date but I saw you and Megan kissing"
"It was nothi-"
"Hush!" He purses his lips together "And when you said that you've liked me long after, it seems like you were lying straight to my face and that's why I've acted the way I acted on the lake. Though you might say that it was nothing but to me it was something, like a huge something. A lot of things have happened, with you and my friends and your reputation don't exactly promote being loyal."
"Let me first explain the Megan situation, She was the one who came up to me, we were just talking and she grabs me by the neck but I swear I didn't kiss her back" he tries to touch me but retreated. "Also, reputation is never permanent."
"Yes, I might have known you more these past weeks but you can never erase that you have past with other girls, with my best friends. I was there when you broke their hearts, I was the one who helped them through those heartbreaks. I'm not even sure if you won't do the same to me" my hands were shaking insanely.
"I promise to never, ever hurt you, Cassie. Just please take a chance on me." he begs to hold my hand. "I know that it's hard to believe, but have a little faith in me, in us."
"I am not even sure if you can keep your promises" I look at him as he stares into my eyes.
"I know I've been a fuckboy or any other words that you'd worse describe me, but I will surely cherish you more than anything" he cups my face "Tell me you feel the same" tears are glooming my eyes, I felt the sincerity in his voice.
"I-I"
"Chace are home?" His mother knocks on the door, me pulling away from his touch. Quickly going out of the window.
"Yes Mom!" He yelled out, I was about to make my move out of his room but his hand caught mine "I'm changing!"
"Okay, I just wanted to check on you" Mrs. Wayne said "I'm leaving for some grocery shopping, I'm bringing Lucy. Do you want anything?"
"No mom, I'm good"
"We'll go then." then we heard footsteps going down the stairs.
"I should go" I gestured to the window.
"We still need to finish our conversation" he stated, his hand holding my arm stopping me from making another move.
"Fudge!" I stomp my foot on the floor "I Like you too"I muttered in a low voice.
"What?" He leans his ear near.
"I said I like you too, you Idiot!" I pushed him.
"What?" I know he heard me, for he was now smiling.
"I take it back" turning away.
"No!" He pulls me towards him "You like me?" I nodded "You fucking like me" He squeezes my face.
"stop, it's embarrassing." I chuckled.
"I just can't contain it, I'm so overwhelmed with happiness" he hugs me tightly "Does this mean were official like you're my girlfriend and I'm your boyfriend?" I nodded "This is the best day ever!"
"You're crushing my bones" I said in between his arms.
"Sorry!" He breaks the hug but seconds later pulled me to his arms again, making me laugh "I'm just happy"
"I'll hold you responsible for your words"
"I will never ever like ever do anything to hurt you"
"Keep that!" I poke him on his chest.
"Yes Bear!" He salutes.
"Bear?" I raised my brow on his choice of endearment.
"It's cute!" He acclaims.
"No, it's too cheesy"
"The endearment? But like Grizzly, cute as a bear that's what you are" He pinches my cheeks and peck my lips, My eyes widen in surprise "What?" He notices the change in my expression "Am I not yet allowed? I'm sorry" he brushes my lips, wiping it off.
"You are definitely still not" I said before grabbing his neck, pulling his face close to mine "but I'm allowed" I evilly smirk before finally kissing him, he kisses me back automatically, I felt his lips curve into a smile as he kisses me. It was our very first official kiss together.
