《Bad Boy Next Door》Chapter 19: Scared Like A Cat

My whole body was covered with my blanket as I held on tightly to Grizzly, I hated Lightning and thunders, it brings out the cat out of me.
I have only my night light on, but as the lightning flashes in a raining night, it scares the heck out of me. I quickly jump out of my bed and turned the lights on then back again to my bed. I looked at my clock and it was 1 in the morning, I couldn't call my parents for I told them I can handle myself, I couldn't call Maggie, Amy nor Pheobe that I don't want to interrupt their sleep, I am on my own tonight.
A loud thunder cracks that made me shiver under my blanket.
"I hate you!" I muttered scaredly at the thunder. Then another came with matching lightning. I yelp in my bed and cover my eyes.
"Please stop, Please stop" I kept on repeating the words again and again until I heard a loud knock on my window that made me scared more.
"Open the window Cassie" A husky voice said
"There's a monster and it knows my name" I scaredly curled on my bed, singing lala to try to cover the noise
"Freaking open the window Cassie!" The husky voice said again "It's me, Chace!"
Chace?
"How can I be sure that's really you?"
"Aren't you going to freaking open this window or you want me to break it?" The voice grew on irritation. I didn't think twice grab Grizzly on my side and open the window. "You're going to kill me outside" he spoke as he wipes his hair from the rain
"Why are you even here?" I stand away from the window, scared to be struck by lightning
"I can hear you out my room calling out for the storm to stop, saw your room light on" he pointed on my light "Can you somehow offer me a towel to dry on?"

"I didn't think I was talking too loud" I came back to give him a towel
"Are you afraid of the storm?" He asks concerned while drying his hair
"Terrified but I'll be fine" I lied, a bolt of strong lightning caused the light to flicker. I quickly turn next to Chace though he was a bit wet and tangle my arm on his arm.
"Really?" He smally laugh while looking at my scared face "I can stay if you want?" He offered, I immediately let go of him, crosses my arms over my body
"No!" I looked at my spaghetti top
"I'm not here to take advantage of you if that's what you are thinking" he shakes his head
"I'll be okay, you can go" I pointed out the window where he entered
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah! Sure" I nodded before he can leave the window. The light fully went off. I screamed in my stand. I felt his arms around me, brushing my back calming me. "I'm scared!" I squirm tightly towards him
"I'm here" he whispers "Where's your phone? We need to go downstairs for some light"
"It's on my nightstand" I said, he let go of his hold on me but I caught his hand not letting him leave me
"I'm here, I'm here" he intertwines our hands together "I'll just get your phone" reaching for my phone on my nightstand "Is it okay if you stay here a bit while a find some candle downstairs?"
"No!" I quickly responded shaking my head eagerly
"Okay then we'll go together" he said, we walk hand in hand to the kitchen. After we searched for candles we head back to my room. I snuggled sitting on my bed with Grizzly while Chace placed the candle safely to avoid any accidents. I couldn't take my eyes admiring this caring side of him.

"Chace, Thank you" I said hugging Grizzly tightly
"It's fine" he sneezes moments later "Sorry" wrinkling his nose
"You should probably change into something dry" I took my phones flashlight and grab the biggest shirt that could fit him in my closet "This is all that I can offer" it's a grey Rolling Stone shirt that I took from my Dad's old clothes, I handed it to him
"Thanks" he took the shirt from my hand
"Don't want you to strip here, the bathroom's over there" I gestured to another door, he nods entering the bathroom as I went back sitting on my bed
"Is this yours?" He asks while in the bathroom
"It's originally my dad's, you can just put your wet shirt in there. There's a spare hanger by the towel area" not long after he went out of the bathroom wearing my shirt
"You can sleep now you know" he said placing the towel he used earlier neatly by the desk chair, I looked at the time it was almost 2 in the morning.
"I think it's hard now for me to sleep in this kind of weather"
"We can just do something than to pass the time" he suggested
"I have snakes and ladder by the shelf if you want to play?"
"As long as it's not a tea party, then I'm in" he jokingly said making me laugh
"Bummer, I was thinking of that too" I replied
"Funny!" He laughs
After maybe 4 games of Snakes and Ladder, which I was surely dominating.
"Your luck is so bad!" I stick a tongue out at him
"I was just letting you win, that's all"
"Whatever!" Making a W sign with my fingers. I was fixing the Snakes and Ladder board and I noticed him staring "What is it?"
"Nothing" he smirks, shaking his head
"Okay" I put back the board on the shelf "Leah told me she was your cousin" I told him
"You met her?"
Yeah! And she made me realize that I was falling for you
"By the field the other day, she's the one who told me that" I said
"Oh, okay" he simply answered, stretching his arms "Want to do something fun?"
"What kind of fun?"
"Something you and I will love" he came nearer, as he smirks
"No! No! I will not approve of that" I crossed my arms again over my body
"Don't be so paranoid Cathy" says, taking both my hand placing his palm facing the floor. Then he slaps it hard. "OUCH! What the hell?!" I rub the back of my hand that was now turning red as he laughs
"Told you it was fun!" He laughs
"You slap my hand, how was it fun?" I irritatingly told him
"You have to not let me slap your hand, then it could be your turn" he explains
"So it's still your turn?"
"Yep" he smirks "Go on, hands" he pointed
"Fine!" I placed my hands again the way. "I won't let you win again" but after 3 games and my hand turning tomato, I finally won. "YES!" I clap my hands together
"Nice!" He nods in amazement
"Now my turn" I pointed to his hand with my mouth
"Okay!" We played that until both of our hands were as red as tomato tho mine was much more redder than his. I didn't even notice that the rain had stopped tho the power went on hours ago.

In his second chance at life, he vows to protect himself and his family from anything that threatens to destroy his peaceful life. Follow Five on his path to supremacy. ********** This is a LITRPG novel, with the system playing a crucial, but supporting role. It isn't omnipotent and has definite origins which I'll explain later in the story. Another important aspect is world-building and crafting. I'll go into quite a lot of detail on both of them.
