《Brother of Wind {book 3: Rebooted}》chapter 4

A traveling circus train drive down the road. It came to a stop at a gate guarded by nindroids. The nindroids searched the whole train.
"Hehe, no Ninja. Wanna check up my sleeves?" The magician laughed nervously.
"You can go." The nindroids let them pass.
As soon as they were gone, Kai, Nya, Cole and Jay jumped out of a box that was in plain sight. They used a mirror trick in the box to conceal their presence.
"We can get you just outside of the Storm Farms, but you'll have to get to the power substation on your own. Good luck, and abracadabra!" The magician said and poof! They disappeared.
"Show off." Jay said.
"So, Nya, shutting down this power substation. Can we really destroy the Overlord and his Nindroids by simply flipping a switch?" Cole asked.
"Cripple them, yes. Destroy, no." Nya answered.
"Once we've powered down his army, we still need to reboot the central computer with the Techno Blades. And don't forget, since he knows we have them, they aren't gonna let us just waltz in." She finished.
"Whoa! Wait a minute, if shutting down the power turns off everything connected to it, wouldn't that mean P.I.X.A.L. too?" Jay exclaimed.
"Well, if Zane hasn't figured it out, don't tell him. If we're going to come across more Nindroids, we need to be on our A game." Cole said.
"Where is Zane anyways? And Morro too?" Kai asked.
In a different train car, Morro handed Pixal Zane's broken face plate.
"If you need anything, ask." Morro said.
"Stay here Zane." Morro sat Zane in a chair. Pixal nodded and bowed to thank as Morro left the room. Pixal placed the face plate in position and it reconnected. She then moved down to work around Zane's chest.
"Thank you for repairing me. I guess an old Nindroid like me is no match against the newer models." Zane sighed.
"This is just one of my primary functions. Gratitude is not required." Pixal said. She did something that made a glowing blue part of Zane be shown.
"Fascinating."
"What is it?" Zane asked.
"Your power source. It's a technology I am unfamiliar with. Your father built you with spare parts, yet this piece, it's unique." Pixal said.
"Perhaps if I take a closer look." She reached in. When her hand just about touched it, Zane felt pain.
"Aah!" Zane cried. Pixal immediately retracted her hand.
"I'm sorry, I caused you pain. I was curious to understand why you are so different." Pixal timidly said.
"We're all different. But I don't feel so different around you." Zane held Pixal's hand.
"I am not different. I am P.I.X.A.L., the Primary Interactive X-ternal Assistant Life-form. And your repairs are complete." She stepped away. Zane sighed.
-somewhere else-
Lloyd looked up in the sky. It was hard to.see in the heat, but him and his father kept on following the black mechanical bird that was Zane's falcon. The falcon dived down and perched on the bones of a creature. Lloyd and Garmadon came to a stop.
"The samurai x symbol..." Lloyd got a closer look to see a symbol carved on a circular shape. It was a button. Lloyd pressed it and a secret entrance opened.
They father and son walked down into the cave together.
Soon, they reached a large cave, lit up with blue lights around the bases of the platforms and Nya's inventions on display.

"Whoa! How did Nya have time to build all this? Maybe I should've been a Samurai instead." Lloyd gazed around. There was a large vehicle covered by a cloak in the middle of the cave. Garmadon walked up and uncloacked it.
It was large, two seats. A diver's and an arms. (Weapons)
"Why must everything have so many weapons?" Garmadon complained.
Lloyd smirked.
"Says the man who had four arms to possess the golden weapons." He said as he walked by.
"Haha. I deserve that." Garmadon said.
Lloyd was about to get in the driver's.
Garmadon put his staff in front, stopping Lloyd.
"I swore off fighting, not driving."
Minutes later, the vehicle drove right out of the cave and out into the open.
"Where to now?" Lloyd asked.
"As far away as possible!" Garmadon said.
-the train car thing I don't know what it is-
Cole read a starferer comic that just so happened to be in the car. Nya akwary walked in and covered her face with a news paper.
"Hey Nya!"
Nya jumped.
"How are our kids?" Cole asked.
"Our kids?!" Nya exclaimed.
"Why would we have kids? We're not even married let alone--"
"I meant our students. Weirdo." Cole said.
"Ever since we left the school, I'm worried for them."
"Oh." Nya said.
"Dareth's looking after them." Nya nervously tapped her hand against her thigh.
"You know Cole..." She sat down at the table with Cole.
"you don't get the credit you deserve." She said.
"What do you mean?" Cole asked confused.
"mean, you always put others ahead of yourself." Nya started
"I know the other Ninja get all the attention, but I just want you to know, you're a good guy." She reached her hand out.
"Ah. Don't tell Jay." Cole jocked as he reached to grab Nya's hand.
"Ha, tell me what?" Jay walked in. He looked down. Cole and Nya quickly retracted their hands.
"Uh..." Nya stuttered.
"Woah, hope I didn't interrupt anything." Kai said.
"We're here. So.... Uh. Yeah." Morro finished.
The ninja, Nya, and Pixal all got out of the truck car train thingy. They stared at their goal. Lightning stuck a landline right beside Pixal. She jumped and fell back into Zane's arms.
"Careful." Zane said
"They farm the electricity that's in the air. This is where all of Ninjago gets their power."
"Looks like we have a welcoming party." Kai pointed. Everyone looked at the power station. It was guarded by nindroids.
"The only chance we have of getting in there is to stay out of sight. There's no way we can take them all on." Nya said.
"That means stealth." Morro reminded.
"You mean we get to be Ninja for a change? Whoo-hoo!" Jay cheered.
"I'll stay back. I'm not built for stealth and cannot assist you." Pixal said.
"Be safe and stay out of trouble. I'll see you later." Zane said as they went off.
"Keep your eyes out for Ninja. The Overlord says they are sure to be coming." Cryptor marched in front of his lined up nindroid guards. He reached the end of the line and found a very short nindroid.
"Look at you, last one off the factory line? Ran out of metal, eh? I will call you Min-Droid." He patted the little one.
Morro walked up just as they left. It was clear. He jumped over the railings and met up with the other. He signaled that it was safe and everyone snuck up to the station.

When the entered, there were multiple control panels, with one gleaming electric blue build in the middle.
"That's the substation's core. Shut that down, and it's lights out for the Overlord. Now if only we knew which switch." Nya sighed.
Everyone split up to look for the right one. They all kinda pushed random buttons. Not Morro though. He wanted to be sure it was the right one first.
We say go go! You're gonna see us rippin' through it just jump up--
"Hey I love this song!" Jay nodded his head to the beat.
"Turn it off!" Kai whisper-shouted.
"They can't know we're here!"
Jay made a face and kept on listening.
"Ow!" Morro smacked Jay on the back of the head.
"Pfft. Buzz kill." Jay turned it off.
"Non of these buttons are doing anything!" Cole said.
"There has to be an easier way."
"Yeah, like maybe just hack the system?" Kai drew his techno blade and swung it at the glowing blue power core. It only hit the protective glass around it.
"Arg! Stupid technology!" Kai grunted.
"This can't be harder than it looks." Cole gave it a shot. He only got stunned by the recoil.
"Okay, deffinetly harder." Cole said.
"Who's got the button?"
"Will you be quiet?!"
"I am being quiet!"
"Oh my gosh, both of you just stop talking."
Min-droid heard through the vents. He drew one of his swords.
"Ninja!" Cryptor yelled. They were onto them.
"The ninja have been discovered." Pixal analyzed.
"Operation jeapordized. Calculating probability of success to affecting outcome by-- oh, who cares about probability?" Pixal rushed to the ninja's aide.
She used a grapple to get up.
Min-droid desperately pointed to the entrance of the power core.
"Knock, knock." He said as he punched min-droid out of the way.
Pixal jumped up and tripped the alarms. Oh, great. Now she got spotted too.
The alarms alerted the ninja inside. Nya checked the camera.
"Nindroids!" She exclaimed.
"So much for stealth. Why can we never do these things?" Morro sighed.
"Our cover is blown! Seal the doors and find a way to shut it down!" Nya exclaimed.
Zane looked on the cameras.
"Pixal!" He saw the female droid being surpunded by the other nindroids.
"Don't seal the door! I'm going out there!" Zane turned around.
"Are you crazy? We barely fixed you up the last time you fought them." Jay stopped him.
"You didn't fix me, she did." Zane said dead serious and ran outside. The door shut, but not before min-droid got to jump in.
"Aah. Great. Now they come in fun size!" Jay yelled.
"Shut up, Jay and hit it!" Morro declared as he pulled out his staff.
-somewhere-
Lloyd took a stop for a drink. They were at a rice field so there was plenty of fresh water streams everywhere. Garmadon laid in the comfort of the vehicle. Lloyd wiped his mouth.
"Huh?" He saw a large... Thing. A machine glowing in the night in the reflection of the water. It was... A dragon? A mechanical dragon?!
"We need to go. Now!" Garmadon said to Lloyd. The green ninja nodded and ran to his seat. The dragon got closer by the second. It took as scan and because Lloyd didn't have his mask on, it recognized him.
Garmadon worked the controls but the vehicle didn't move.
"Come on! Start!"
The dragon got closer. Like a lot closer. Lloyd bit his lip. He placed his hand on the gun beside him and charged it with a little golden power. Thankfully, it started and the vehicle moved again. Garmadon immiditaly stepped on the gas and started to drive.
"Uh! He's gaining on us!!" Lloyd yelled as he looked back.
"Well maybe this thing has an afterburner." Garmadon pressed a button. Lloyd spun around on his chair and fired a missile at the dragon.
"Curse these weapons."
-the power plant-
"Ninja-go!!" A light blue spinjitzu tornado knocked down a few in droids from off the railings. Zane ran past them all, making his way to Cryptor who has holding Pixal up by her kimono.
Zane drew his techno blade. His eyes widened. Zane's techno blade was completely stopped in its tracks by Cryptor catching it.
"The original nindroid." Cryptor pressed the blade onto Zane. Pixal desperately tried to get him to let go.
"You're nothing more that a tin can with feelings." Cryptor insulted. He threw Zane over, making the white ninja drop his weapon.
Cryptor threw Pixal against the wall, drew his dual blades and ran at a defenceless Zane. The ninja of ice fought back but, the the new nindroids were faster, more skilled. Zane got hit down.
"Zane! Watch out!" Pixal called out as Cryptor disappeared in the area. This was not good. Zane got repeatedly hit and knocked down. His head, banged against the wall, and Zane was on his knees.
"Welcome to the future." Cryptor reappeared.
Inside the station, Nya was furiously pressing buttons while min-droid started to attack by... Spinning. I mean, it works for the ninja, why not the nindroids?
"Hack him with the techno blade!" Kai yelled. Cole activated his hacking tool. He tried to use it but, because min-droid was spinning, it didn't work. Surprisingly.
"Argh! I'm trying!" Cole said.
"Morro! You're skilled! Do something!" Jay yelled.
"There's no opening. I can't strike." Morro said taking a step back.
"I gotta hand it to the little runt. He doesn't know when to quit." Cole said.
"Quit?!" Min-droid stopped spinning and shot at Cole. The black ninja just barely dodged the blast and the laser ended up hitting the glass protecting the power source.
"Ah, that's it. Fight without fighting!" Kai said.
"This is no time for a lesson, Kai!" Jay yelled.
"This isn't a lesson. It's a solution." Morro said.
"Hey, Half Pint! Over here!" Kai taunted the little droid.
"Woah!" Kai jumped out of the way as min-droid took another shot. The glass cracked more.
"We need to provoke him more!" Kai said.
"Or..." Morro pointed to the door.
"I see where you're headed!" Nya pressed a button and the door opened. The room started to flood with nindroids. They all fired at the four ninja near the core.
Dodging each laser, the ninja got the glass to crack more and more.
"It's working!" Nya exclaimed.
"Look out!" Lloyd yelled. The mechanical dragon swopped down and a razor started to cut. Luckily, Lloyd ducked and the only thing cut was an antenna thing. The dragon didn't stop. It was just about over top if them.
"This is why I took an oath of peace!" Garmadon exclaimed swirling felon left to right.
The glass cracks reached around the whole protection case. Min-droid jump -kicked at Jay. At the last second, the blue ninja leapt out of the way and min-droid broke the glass to the power core.
"Uh-oh."
A bright light flashed around almost all if Ninjago. The power had shut down. The wave reached to where Lloyd and Garmadon were. The dragon following them fell to the ground. The lights were out. All the nindroids fell lifeless to the floor.
Every light in ninja go city went out. It was a blackout.
"We did it!" Kai shouted with joy.
"Zane!" Morro ran out of the room.
Outside, Zane was on his knees with Pixal lying on his lap.
"This-- is why-- I wanted to stay back... So you-- would not-- see this." Pixal's voice box glitched.
"You knew this would happen?" Zsne exclaimed.
"Your mission was important. I was not. I am to assist. I assisted." Pixal said.
"You're using up you're reserve. Don't say anything more until we find you more power." Zane looked around.
"You've destroyed the only power source in Ninjago. Power will all be nonexistent." The female droid grabbed Zane's hand.
"We are not so different, are we? We are compatible?" Pixal asked.
"Yes. Yes we are." Zane said.
Pixal smiled as she powered down. Her hand fell to the ground. The rest old the team walkers up to comfort Zane.
-else where.-
Lloyd claimed out of the vehicle.
"Do you think it's.... Safe to go back?" He asked.
"They may have turned off the power, but they still need to reboot the system. Until we know the Overlord is gone for good, we need to keep moving." Garmadon told his son.
This blackout won't last forever. The power always gets back on.
