Annabelle's POV:

The beast I was referring to was none other than my brother but he was really fulfilling the part. His har was dishevelled, his eyes were a mixture of tired and angry. Carter was walking behind him as I followed suit. He brought us into the living room in silence as we sat down opposite each other. We were all silent for a while until I decided to speak up, "Danny you need to kno-" before I could really even start my sentence Danny raised his hand up. He was looking directly at the floor looking as if he was trying to figure something out. "How long?" he asked bluntly, I sat a little forward and replied, "it wasn't that long we-"; his eyes looked up at me and stared at me intently as I felt myself grow smaller under his gaze, "how long?" he interrupted. Carter sat forward as well as he held my hand tightly and said, "around 8 months".

Daniel run his hands over his face as he leant forward towards us. "Neither of you thought to tell me?" he questioned sounding a little heartbroken, I spoke up quickly as I defended, "we didn't think you would react well". I heard Carter mumble next to me, "we were right too". My brother snapped his head towards Carter who had probably not meant for those words to be spoken as he stiffened. "You know I'm not happy about this" Danny said as I nodded. "I still love him Daniel" I said feeling the tears prick in my eyes. Carter squeezed my hand yet again for reassurance as he also stated, "dude listen I know this is weird but I've liked your sister for a long time and I know I have all these other girls but I love YOUR sister" he said emphasising 'your'. I felt my face blush a little as I looked back at Daniel who had sat back in his chair.

"You know I'm more upset you didn't tell me and went behind my back", Danny said after a long period of silence. I felt disappointed in myself, had not telling Danny been the wrong thing to do, even though at the time it had seemed like the best thing? "And there's nothing I could do to change your minds?" Danny asked with a small smirk on his face as I felt myself cheer up. Carter scoffed next to me and said, "she's the one dude". I giggled as Daniel stood up and we followed and Danny said, "I hate you Reins", then Carter's face lit up with a large grin as he replied to my brother, "hate you too Walters" and the two embraced in one of those man hugs. They pulled away and my brother's face got serious as he said, "we're going to have words about my sister though and I think I might have to implement a 5 foot rule for my own peace of mind". I scoffed at Danny's absurdness as Carter stepped cockily next to me whilst wrapping his arm around my shoulders and said, "Dan you know how much of a rule breaker I am". Daniel groaned as he left the room complaining how he would 'never get use to this'.

Once he left Carter and I alone I felt ecstatic. "That went better than I expected" I said letting out a deep breath as Carter lifted my chin with his fingers and whispered, "you and me both baby". Carter leant down to kiss me but just before he did we heard Daniel shout down, "Carter if you're within 5 foot of my sister right now im going to kill you". Carter pulled back immediately with alert eyes as he said, "you're prince can't go dying on you princess" as he kissed my cheek and hastily left my house. It was my turn to talk to my brother alone because he was my brother and I had to make sure that we were okay because it mattered a lot to me.

I walked up the stairs and I stood outside of his room but was debating whether or not I should knock but the decision was made for me when Danny shouted through his door, "Come in Annie". I opened the door slowly and found Danny sitting on his bed. "I wanted to check we were okay" I muttered quietly feeling very conscious of the tense atmosphere. He gestured for me to sit down as I did and said, "Annie we'll always be okay if just something weird to get use to" before repeating, "very very weird". I giggled at his comment as he pulled me into a hug and I whispered to him, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you. He held me there for a few more moments as he replied to me cockily with, "I understand why you didn't, you didn't want me to murder your new man candy". I swatted him but this just returned a laugh from him.
