Annabelle's POV:
I was sitting on my bed and hadn't heard anything from Carter, I was a little worried so I sent him a text:
I carried on watching my movie for a while and then my phone vibrated showing me it had a message:
I read the message and smiled, at least I knew he was safe - then my phone vibrated again:
I rolled my eyes and soon we were in full conversation:
I had to re read the messages a few time just to check that I had got it correct. I was internally screaming and then I texted back:
And then when he hadn't replied in 10 minutes I presumed he was serious. I started to tidy up my room a little, not that it wasn't already tidy but I was a perfectionist. I looked at my outfit and I genuinely looked cute. 'I might change into a hoodie though' I thought, I didn't think a vest and shorts was going to cut it so I walked into my wardrobe - KNOCK. A sound had come from my window and so I walked over to it and sure enough standing under my window was Carter. I felt myself become excited so I calmed down and opened the window, "Where for is my Juliet?" he called up making me giggle, "you're so cheesy" and he winked up at me. He was wearing casual clothes and looked cold, "do you want to come in?" I asked conscious that he was cold, he smiled up at me and said in a cool tone "what about your dad? He's going to think its weird I'm here". I shook my head and rubbed my arm, "he's still not home" I said a little sadder then I intended.
Carter had stood there for a while arguing that it was wrong but in the end he had come up and was sitting in my room. He was silent and the charm was gone, "what's up Carter?" I asked quite worried, he shook his head and smiled, "I'm cool". I raised my eyebrow at him and crossed my legs on my bed and stared at him, "don't you dare lie to me because I know you too well and I know when something's up". He looked at me and sadness flooded his face, he began rubbing his hands together as he looked up at me. "Dad was shouting at mum about some petty shit as ever and he wanted to get hands on so I stepped in the way but she kept telling me to step out the way", I could hear his voice breaking, "she wouldn't let me help her and I felt so powerless and I swear sometimes you, Danny and the guys are the only things that keep me sane". I stood up from my bed and walked over to Carter, there was a single tear on his face and I brushed it off with my thumb as I brought him into a hug.
