《Taming The Bad Boy》32.

Finally. The first competition of the year. And I would be lying if I said I didn't live for this shit.

I was up at 5:30, because I absolutely have to have my hair straightened because I have to have it in a bun, a pony, pigtails, and a hal pony. So, I did my hair, cleaned my face so I could have all my make up done at the school, which is where the competition was today. And I really am looking at 7 different make up changes, and 7 costume changes. Due to the 2 solo's, 3 duets, my trio, and the group dance.

We didn't have to leave for another hour, so, I laid in my bed, threw my headphones in, closed my eyes, and just started listening to music.

About a half hour went by and I felt a plop on my bed.

I pulled one of my headphones out when I saw Connor laying next to me.

"Whatcha listening to?" He asked.

I handed him a headphone and he put it in his ear.

"What is this?" He gave me a look.

"She is Love by Parachute." I nodded.

"Hm." He nodded. "I like it." He shrugged.

"Can I help you." I shook my head.

He sighed and reached down beside my bed. "You've wanted the student choreo piece since you were 11, along with Comp Captain." He nodded.

"I know." I gave him a look.

And then he pulled a tiny little bag up and put it on my lap.

I sat up and pursed my lips. "What is this?"

"I have had this since you were 13 when you had your first pointe solo." He shrugged. "And, I wanted to save it until the time was right. Today is your first competition as Captain and Student Choreographer, so, I figured today was the day."

"Connor what did you do." I shook my head.

"Just open it and don't get used to it. I'm not sentimental very often so just, roll with the moment." He rolled his eyes.

I gave him a look, and opened the bag, and pulled out a small box. And inside, was a sweet little square locket.

"This is gorgeous." I nodded.

"Open in." He nodded.

I took a deep breath, and opened the locket. Inside it was a picture of me during my first ever pointe solo and on the opposite side was printed piece of paper that said the words 'Afire Love' which is because the solo was to the song Afire Love by Ed Sheeran. It wasn't just my first pointe solo, it was my first solo that I did that actually meant something.

Our grandfather had just died of Alzheimers, a blood clot caused by it to be exact, and Jane asked me if I would like to do something to honor his memory. She chose this song, and choreographed something so beautiful for me. It was the first time I had ever seen my dad cry.

"Connor." I shook my head and wiped my face.

"That's not supposed to happen." He shook his head.

"This is the nicest thing you've ever done for me." I nodded. "I love this."

He let out a small smile. "You may say good brother moment just this once."

"Amazing brother moment." I smiled and pulled him in to a hug. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." He nodded. "Abby just got here by the way. Ryan and Josh are grabbing Ben, then they'll be here."

"Did Ryan say how he is doing?" I pursed my lips.

"He is still upset, he said he's spending the night alone, which I think is a good idea. I'm pissed at Cody. So is Oaken."

"So is Olivia. But, even though he's upset, Josh was expecting it." I nodded. "He is 14."

"He deserves -"

I cut him off. "The world, I heard you the 14 times you said it last night." I pursed my lips.

"Don't talk about it." He shook his head. "Why is Abby here anyway?"

"Because she can't wrap her bun right." I sighed and got out of bed.

"Ok, so, I'm going to have one more good brother moment." Connor stood up too. He grabbed my shoulders. "I'm really, really proud of you Ol." He nodded.

I smiled. "Thanks Con." I nodded and hugged him.

He grabbed my dance bag, and carried it when we walked downstairs.

"Hi Connie. Hi Mike." I smiled and hugged Abby's parents when we got in to the living room.

"Hi my dear." Her mom hugged me.

"Have you heard from Pook?" Abby asked as I sat on the couch.

"No. But Ryan told Con he's still upset." I nodded as she sat on the floor infront of me.

"And I am." Josh sighed as he, Ryan, and Ben came walking through the door. "Hi momma Connie." He hugged her.

"Hi baby." She hugged him back. She put her hands on his cheeks. "You remember, these boys aint shit, ok?" She nodded.

"Mom!" Abby looked up at her.

"She's not wrong." I shrugged.

"Aunt Connie! Uncle Mike!" Amber came running from the kitchen in to the living room and hugged them.

"Hi Bebe." Connie hugged her.

"Oaken, you treating my niece right?" Mike pointed at him.

Oaken nodded. "I am."

"He is taking me to the batting cages with him later." Amber smiled.

"Really?"Abby gave her a look.

She nodded. "I want to learn how to hit a baseball."

"Oaken is the one to teach her." Connor shrugged.

"You forgetting who taught him." Mason came walking in the living room.

Abby just looked up at Ryan.

"What?" He shook his head.

"Why cant you do cute shit like that with me." She crossed her arms.

"Baby I don't play baseball." He gave her a look.

"Still." She shook her head.

HE looked at Connie and Mike. "How am I in trouble right now." He shook his head.

"Ryan, she is exactly like her mother, you better get used to it." Mike threw his arm over Ryan.

"You wanna learn how to do a hand spring throw in or hit a golf ball, I can show you that." He nodded. "I will gladly take you to the driving range with me."

"Ok." She smiled and turned back around for me to do her hair.

I choked back a laugh. "Yall do too many sports." I shook my head.

"Uh, no, Mason does too many sports." Connor pointed at him.

"You all do." Josh nodded.

"Uh, you have 2 under your belt." I shrugged.

"I play 1 school sport. Beach volley ball doesn't count." He shook his head. "Connor does soccer and basket ball."

"And Ben does soccer and baseball." Abby nodded.

"Ryan does soccer and golf." I pursed my lips.

"Oaken is doing baseball and hockey." Mason pointed at him.

"And you do baseball, soccer, and basketball." Oaken crossed his arms. "And you also play beach volleyball."

"3 is not that many." Mason shook his head.

"More than all of us, and you're about to be co-captain for all three." Connor nodded.

And then my head shot up.

"Con." He pursed his lips.

"It's true Mase." Ben shrugged.

"Can we not talk about this today? Today is about Ol and Ab." He nodded.

"Fine, but we're gonna talk about it." Ryan nodded.

"Ok, enough giving Mason shit. We ready?" My dad asked as he walked in to the living room with Hank, my mom and Trish.

"Is it done?" Abby asked.

"You're done." I nodded. "Are Jake and Kelsey meeting us there?"

"They are." My mom smiled. "Connor can I see it now?" She pursed her lips.

"She's wearing it." He nodded.

My mom walked over, grabbed my locket, and opened it.

"And people have the nerve to say you're not a sweet boy." She shook her head and looked at Connor.

"Mom." He rolled his eyes.

"What is it?" Abby stood up and grabbed it too. She gasped. "Connor." She pouted.

"Oh shut up." He shook his head.

"Well damn, not being nice to you anymore." She shook her head.

"Oh really." He nodded.

She nodded.

"Mason." He looked over at him.

Mason smiled and pulled a small box out of his back pocket.

She pursed her lips. "Is that for me." She smiled.

They both nodded. "It's from all 4 of us." Mason nodded.

She clapped and Mason handed her the box. She stood next to me and opened it.

And it was the same thing as mine. A picture from her first pointe solo, with the song she did on the other side.

"Oh I love you guys." She smiled.

"What do you know, they do have hearts." Hank nodded.

And all 4 boys just looked at him.

"Ok, we ready?" Mike laughed

We all nodded.

The 4 boys all got in Mason's truck.

My parents drove seperately with all our dance stuff.

The Hollow's and Coltons rode together.

And Abby, Josh, Oaken, Amber and I rode in my car.

And the entire ride was silent, because we didn't want to push the Cody topic today because it's still fresh.

Abby and I went backstage when we all got there. Connor and Ben decided to chat up some dancers, Oaken and Amber went and sat down with all the parents. And Mason, Ryan, and Josh went to go find food because Josh is now depressed eating his feelings.

"Hey Liv, Hey Ab." We heard from behind us.

"Hey Will." Abby smiled.

"I am so excited to see you two's bollywood duet in costume." He sat down with us.

"I am freaking about it." I nodded.

"Why? You guys kill it in class." He shook his head.

"Because I don't look as good in my costume as she does." I pointed at Abby.

"Hey! You look gorgeous in that thing!" She crossed her arms.

"You're both gorgeous, and I'm sure you two look great."

"I'm just happy I got the red one." I nodded. "I do not look good in yellow."

"And the red goes good with the black hair." Abby nodded. "And I actually didn't think I was going to like the gold, but I love it. I'm so ready for your solo." She pointed at Will.

"I'm freaking out." HE nodded.

"Will your solo is amazing. Just remember, point your toes more in your grand jete."

"Did you guys figure out your turn over in Teachers Pet?" Abby pursed her lips.

"Actually yeah, Connor and Mason helped with that." Will shrugged.

"I don't get why they don't try dance." She rolled her eyes.

"Because they both have 2 left feet and no rythem." I gave her a look.

"Speaking of Mason. I just saw him with Ryan and Josh in the hall way. Is Josh ok?"

"OOo." I scrunched my face.

"Let me rephrase. Why was Josh crying?"

"His boyfriend broke up with him last night." I nodded.

"Awe that sucks. Josh is a good guy." He nodded.

"He is, he just, he settles for less than he deserves." Abby pursed her lips.

"Connor and Mason told him that. They literally told him he was pissing them the fuck off because he keeps settling for less than he deserves. And that he deserves more than someone whose using him to figure out how they feel about themselves." I shrugged.

"Does he know how he feels? Like, is he open about it?" Will asked.

We both nodded. "He just, he's never been with someone who is actually out and accepting of themselves. But he's comfortable with who he is. He loves himself, and he really doesn't care what people think. It's just hard for him to find someone who is the same." Abby shrugged.

"You know what might make him feel better?" Will gave us a look. "Bringing him to the first football game next Friday." He nodded.

"Josh hates football." I shook my head.

"But, he might like guys in football uniforms." He pointed at me.

"True Will Grayson." Abby pointed at him. "I like the way you think. We should take him." She nodded.

"And then bring him to my party after to celebrate our first win." HE nodded.

"Confident." I nodded. "Lets just see how the football game goes." I laughed.

"Olivia." We heard a cute little voice behind us.

"Hi Mya." I turned around.

"Our duet is on deck." She nodded.

"Ok." I nodded. "Let me just put my stuff on and I'll meet you over there." I smiled.

"Ok." She smiled.

I looked back over to Will and Abby. "Will one of you help me put on my tenticle skirt." I pursed my lips.

They both choked back some laughs, but they did help.

The four of us guys are really trying to make Josh feel somewhat better, to the point where I ate a damn cinnamon bun for him. But I did it without throwing up, thank you fireball for ruining cinnamon for me.

But after a while, he just wanted to go sit in our seats and wait for the competition to start.

The big little duets went first, and seeing Olivia in a skirt made out of tenticles, put a little smile on his face.

Olivia and Abby's bollywood duet was amazing. Abby's areol over Liv's back was the coolest thing I have ever seen her do.

Abby's acro solo was spot on. And if she doesn't get first place, this whole MF is rigged.

Their group dance dedicated to all the mothers was the prettiest group dance they've done in a very long time. Miss Connie, Momma Holly and my mom were all brought to tears.

And as uncomortable as it made me, Olivia and Will's duet was really good. But if he ever grabs her ass again, he will finally have someone step to him.

Speaking of Will, I never imagined his Solo to be as good as it was.

They went through all of the awards.

Their group got first, both of Olivia's female duets got second. Her and WIlls duet got first. Abby and WIll's solos both got first for their division. And her trio got 3rd.

"And now, to our student Choreographed Solo's." The announcer said in to the microphone.

There were a total of 6 solo's. And Olivia's was the fifth in the line up.

The first 4 were alot better than I thought they were going to be. And I havent seen Olivia's solo the whole way through. SO I was really nervous for her.

"And now, dancer 516, Olivia Pate with a routine called Gasoline."

She walked out on the stage, and laid on her back. The music started.

The first portion of the dance, was alot of floor work.

And then it started slowing down for the chorus as she pirrouetted to the left of the stage. Connor grabbed mine and Bens hands.

"Come on Liv." He whispered repetitively shaking his head.

"Land it." He pursed his lips still shaking his head.

"You can land it, come on, come on." He took a deep breath.

The beat dropped, and she threw one of the best moves I had ever seen her do.

Connor threw his hands in the air and just started screaming yes.

She ran threw the part of the dance that I had already seen.

Connor just sat there smiling.

And then his face got really serious.

"What?" Ben gave him a look.

He leaned forward really fast to the row in front of us. "Mom she's hurt."

"What?" She looked back at him.

"That whole part of her dance is supposed to be done with both hands, she's favoring her right." He nodded. "She's hurt."

"Connor." She shook her head.

"I know her. She wouldn't spot on change anything. Go mom." He pursed his lips.

She shot up and ran back stage just, and a few minutes later, her routine was over.

And by the look on her face, she was hurt.

I was doing my back walk over in the second chorus, and my wrist bent. Completely bent and I heard a crack. And I had never been in as much pain as I was when it happened.

I pushed through my dance. And I kept my composure until I got behind the curtain on the side of the stage.

"OW!" I screamed as I ran over to my mom and Jane.

"What happened?" Jane shook her head and held my shoulder.

"It bent, and cracked. Mom is cracked and it hurts." I started bawling and holding my wrist.

"Ok, let me look at hit." She nodded. "I'm gonna touch ok."

I nodded.

She ever so lightly touched my wrist, and I almost threw up.

"No." I gagged. "Do not touch it." I gagged again.

"Ok. You go to the hospital. We'll handle the awards." Jane nodded.

"No, we can wrap it. You can go out, and then we will go." My mom nodded.

"What happened!" Abby ran over to me with Will.

"It bent and cracked." Jane pursed her lips.

"During what?" Will shook his head.

"My back walk over." I cried.

"Oh jesus." Abby sighed.

"Are you alright?" WIll asked.

"It cracked." I nodded.

My mom started wrapping my hand, she called my dad and told him we were leaving righ after and that he needed to take Oaken and Amber home, they helped me put my dance jacket on.

Then the teams all walked out to the stage, me with my hand wrapped.

"In third place, dancer number 34, from Calent Park Academy Layla Farr with Love me or Leave Me."

Everyone clapped as she went and got her trophy.

"In second place, dancer number 410, from Start Spangled Dance, Payton Canter with You WIll Find Me."

Every clapped again.

"And in first place."

Abby and Will squeezed my hands.

"Dancer number 516, from Janes Dance Studio, Olivia Pate with Gasoline!"

I can not tell you how fast I jumped up.

I knew exactly who was yelling as I was handed my first ever Student Choreo Trophy.

We didn't even stick around for congradulations. My mom rushed me to the hospital.

I got x-rayed. And about 45 minutes later, the doctor came walking in.

"Well Jeff?" My mom pursed her lips.

He sighed. "It not bad, but it's definitely not good."

My mom closed her eyes. "And that's what we say about certain fractures." She nodded.

"Olivia, you have what they call, a buckle fracture of the distal radius." He pursed his lips.

"Oh god." My mom threw her head back.

"English." I nodded.

"Hold your hand out." My mom nodded.

I did. And she pointed just below my wrist on the side with my thumb. "This bone right here, is called your radius. You have a crack in it right here."

"So I broke my fucking wrist!" I shook my head.

"Mouth." She pointed at me.

"It's not too bad, you don't need a cast. Just a brace for three weeks, and you need to avoid using it for 3 weeks after the brace comes off as well before you do anything with it."

"How am I supposed to do floor moves with out my right hand." I pursed my lips.

"You need to figure it out, or you wont be dancing." My mom nodded.

"Gray or Tan." He pursed his lips.

"Which one isn't going to make me looked more handicapped than I already am." I crossed my arms.

"They gray ones are less bulky but get the job done." He nodded.

I sighed. "Gray."

"I'll be back Holly." He gave her a small smile before he walked out.

"I'm sorry." She shook her head.

"I broke my wrist." I shook my head.

This wrist brace, is bulky as hell, so I would hate to see the tan ones.

And now, I'm sitting in my car completely quiet as my mom is driving us home.

"You ok?" She looked over at me.

He gave her a look and showed her my hand.

"Right." She nodded.

And then my phone went off.

M; Can't wait to see you in a few hours. I'll send you the location here when I'm done.
