I woke up the next morning, still in a slight state of shock because of what has unfolded over the weekend.
And yet again, I woke up thinking it was a dream until I rolled over and saw Mason laying next to me.
"Good morning." He smiled.
"Good morning." I pursed my lips.
"You have your scared face on again Ol." He shook his head. "It's real, I meant it, liking you, wanting a chance, 3 months, great sex, top like a porn star, the whole nine. It all happened. Stop worrying, and trust me." He leaned over and kissed my forehead.
I let out a sigh of relief. "OK." I nodded.
"Is this going to be an every day thing, or are you going to come to terms with the fact that I actually do like you, and I'm not sleeping with anyone else." He pursed his lips.
"Ok, do you blame me?" I gave him a look.
"No. But, as I've pointed out, have I ever lied to you?" He crossed his arms.
"No." I shook my head.
"And I'm not about to start. Alright? And for the record, I have not heard that you feel the same way, once." He raised his eyebrows.
"Did I shut you down completely?" I raised mine back.
"No." He shook his head.
"Then there's your answer." I smiled.
"Bitch." He rolled his eyes.
"Whore." I crossed my arms.
"Poodle." He gave me a look.
"Get out of my bed Mason." I pointed out the door.
"Make me." He smiled.
I rolled my eyes and gave him a small kiss. "Please, go start loading up the car." I nodded.
"You got it babydoll." He nodded.
He got dressed really quick, and then walked out.
I just threw on a pair of yoga pants, a crewneck, my glasses and re-did my bun, and took my stuff out to the living room by 9:00.
"Sie leave already?" I asked as I plopped down on the couch.
Abby nodded. "No school, but still had volleyball practice." She shook her head. "Boo, your fingers look busted."
"I need nail therapy." I nodded.
"Same." She sighed. "Pook?"
"Cody asked me to come over. Sorry pretties." He pursed his lips.
"We're losing our bestfriend to another boy." Abby frowned and looked at me.
"Indeed we are." I nodded.
"Come on guys, don't be like that." He shook his head. "Ab you just spent all weekend with your boyfriend, Liv, you spent all summer with Cam. Cody is still trying to come to terms with the fact that he's in to guys. Just, please, cut me some slack."
We both nodded. "Go to your boys house." I smiled.
"But what about Nico, does he know?" Abby shook her head.
"He doesn't. And he's not home. But, would you mind dropping me on the way?" He smiled.
"Sure." I nodded.
"Ol, will you drop me off at Ambers?" Oaken asked as he and the fantastic 4 walked in the cabin.
"Sure." I sighed. "Do you want me to pick you up after we go get our nails done?"
"Yes please." He smiled. "Thank you."
"You guys are going to get your nails done?" Ryan gave us a look.
We both held our hands up. "Our fingers look busted." Abby nodded.
"I'm going to Cody's." Josh shrugged.
"Why doesn't Cody come to our house?" Ryan shook his head.

"Have you met our parents Ryan? They're embarassing." Josh rolled his eyes.
"Your parents aren't half as bad as ours." Oaken shook his head.
"You gonna let Amber meet them." Abby smiled.
"Mind your business." Oaken smiled.
"Your parents are fine with meeting you guy's boyfriends/girlfriends though Oak." Josh nodded. "They liked Kelsey, and they capitol L loved Cam."
"Can we not?" Mason shook his head. "Bag shitbrick?"
I pursed my lips and pointed to the table.
He rolled his eyes, grabbed my bag, and took it outside.
"Wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" Ben gave me a look.
I shrugged. "Sex deprivation?"
"We've gotta get him laid to get the old Mason back. He's been a whack job this week." Connor rolled his eyes.
"Hey, dance competition Saturday, plenty of hott girls there for him to pick from." Ben nodded.
"Two of which are us." Abby pointed at her and myself.
"It's not a candy store, you can't just take your pick and eat it." I rolled my eyes. "Are we ready?"
We all went out to the car, and I was so happy when we finally got to my house.
I had dropped off Josh and Oaken, Connor, Ben, Ryan and Mason off at my house.
And it felt so good to be having my nails done.
We both just went with classic french tips because of the competition this weekend.
"Ok." Abby looked over as we were having our nails drying. "Other than obviously our duet and your student choreo, what dance are you most excited for?" She smiled.
"Honestly?" I pursed my lips.
She nodded.
"Probably Teachers Pet." I shrugged.
"That's the one you're doing with Will." She raised her eyebrows.
I nodded. "I've never gotten a duet with a guy. And Will has been amazing to dance with. I always thought he'd be a dick, but he's actually really nice."
"And hott." She let out a small laugh. "Do the guys know you have a co-ed duet yet?"
I shook my head. "I actually kind of need to run through it. You wanna do his part for me?"
"I've seen it enough. So sure. Anything to grip on that booty." She wiggled her eyebrows.
"Oh shut up." I rolled my eyes. "I actually listened to alot of the other songs by Melanie Martinez. They're really good. Dark and twisty. I'd actually do more dances to them."
"Ooo, maybe Jane will let you come up with more pieces to enter for Choreo!" She smiled.
"I would love that. It'd definitely challenge me." I nodded.
"And god knows Olivia Pate loves a challenge." She shrugged.
We finished up, paid Glendy for our nails, and went back to my house.
We threw on some tights and Leo's and went downstairs.
We ran through my solo's, our duet, her solo, and our part of the group dance.
Now, we were in the middle of my duet with Will.
"So pretty much this song is about a Teacher fucking his student, she falls in love with him and wants an actual relationship, he's only using her, and she's tired of being a secret?" She gave me a look.
"Pretty much." I nodded. "Right here, I lay on top of you, you roll me, sweep me up from my lower back, and dip me backwards to fan to the right."
"And then pull you back up, spin you in to a pirrouette, then fan kick, I grab your leg, you wrap it around my body, I drag and lay you backward on floor again."

"Yes ma'am, and then he'll cross my legs for me, roll me over to my stomach, and pull me to a bent position, I kick over to a bridge, and back walk over, pirrouette in to him, and kind of hug on him in a obsessive way."
"Oh I bet he loves doing this dance with you." She laughed.
"Oh shut up and run it with me." I laughed and shook my head.
We had just ran through the part. "What the hell was that?" We heard from the stairs.
The fantastic 4 were sitting on the steps.
"One of my dances." I shrugged.
"There is no way that was you guys duet." Connor shook his head.
"It looked real sexualized babe." Ryan laughed.
"Because its a song about innapropriate relations between a student and a teacher honey. An all too real thing now a days." Abby shook her head.
"So why would they give it to two girls." Ben gave us a look.
Abby and I looked at eachother. "I'll let you take that one." Abby nodded.
"Uh. They didn't give it to two girls." I pursed my lips.
"Then why are you two running through it?" Mason shook his head.
"Because it's one of my duets." I glanced around the room. "With Will Grayson." I scrunched my face.
"What." Connor raised his eyebrows.
"I'm doing this duet with Will Grayson. It's a co-ed duet." I pursed my lips.
"Will Grayson." Mason nodded. "The Will Grayson whose about 6'2. Plays hockey along with dance and wrestling."
"Which makes zero sense." Ryan shook his head.
"Dance is a great way to meet girls I guess." Ben shrugged.
"Will Grayson who looks like a slightly less jacked version of Chris Evans. That Will Grayson." Mason pursed his lips.
"The very one tweedle dumbass." Abby smiled.
His face went flat and he just shook his head.
"Any way you can you know, turn the dance down?" Connor pursed his lips.
"The competition is this weekend, and I will never turn a dance down, I don't care who it's with. It's un-professional." I crossed my arms.
"You're a junior in highschool Liv." He nodded.
"Yes, with scouts coming to every competition. Dances like this, draw attention, scouts notice you, you get jobs."
"Can't really do anything about it this time, can I." Connor shook his head.
"Nope." I smiled.
And then I noticed Mason just glaring at me.
"Abby your mom is here!" I heard my dad yell from up the stairs. "Ben, Ryan, go home!"
"Mason Dean Hollow, dinner!" Trish yelled too.
"Are you eating dinner here?" I looked at Mason.
He nodded.
Well, this is going to be interesting.
We all went upstairs, I said bye to the three going home.
Oaken came running down to sit at the table, and I'm pretty sure Jake was at Kelseys. So it was just 3 Pate kids, momma and daddy Pate, and the Hollows.
"Mom, you realize Olivia is doing a dance about a teacher fucking his student right?" Connor looked over at her.
"Ok, 1. Watch your mouth. 2, great way to start dinner conversation. And 3, it's about pedophilia and child grooming in schools, which is an all to real thing. Jane OK'd it with us." She nodded.
"So you know she's doing it with Will Grayson?" He nodded.
"Yes Connor, we know. We, he and his parents all sat down with Jane and talked about it. We know what the dance is going to consist of." My dad nodded.
"And we got lucky and got a week off for the holiday, paid, so we can be at your competition Saturday sweetie." Hank smiled.
"Oh god." Mason threw his head back. "I have to go to this thing, don't I."
"Thank you Mason, for the support." I shook my head.
"Not looking forward to you getting screwed across a stage Ol." Connor shook his head.
"Oh my god." I rolled my eyes. "I'm fully clothed! He's in a button up, dress pants, and a tie. I'm in a school girl uniform. Alright. No one is screwing me across a stage."
"Alright. Olivia is doing the dance. End of discussion. We all will be there to support her and Abby in their first competition, and Olivia's first student choreo piece! Understand?" Trish yelled.
"Yes ma'am." All 3 boys nodded.
"Alright then. Now how was this weekend?" My dad asked.
And as soon as his did, I started choking.
"Jesus Liv. Chew, don't inhale." Connor smacked my back to help.
I looked up at my dad and Hank wide eyed. And all I could do was purse my lips and look down.
"Olivia?" He asked.
I looked up and just scrunched my face.
He and Hank rolled their eyes, looked at eachother, and just shook their heads.
"I actually had a very good weekend." Oaken smiled.
"Yes, tell them about that." I nodded.
"What happened baby." My mom smiled.
"Well, I didn't invite Amber, because of the promise I made Olivia." HE shrugged.
"And what promise is that Oak Tree?" Hank laughed.
"That I wouldn't have sex unless I'm dating someone."
"Thank you." My mom pointed at me. "For making him make that promise."
I nodded.
"And I learned that I'm scared to have sex. And I had a break down. Turns out, Connor is actually a good brother, and Mason's a good, whatever the hell he is. And then Ben made fun of me for it. He got hit by Olivia, Sienna, and Abby. And then he made me call ate girl and talked me through telling her how I was feeling so I didn't sound like a bitch."
"Oaken, mouth." My dad pointed at him.
"Ok, I am always a good brother." Connor shook his head.
Oaken and I both gave him a look.
"We gonna go over this again?" Connor crossed his arms.
We both sighed. "Just because we don't it doesn't mean you're not a good brother." Oaken and I rolled our eyes.
"So shut up." Connor smiled.
"And I was good this weekend thank you very much." Mason crossed his arms.
"Were you now." My dad nodded.
"Yes Mason, were you good?" Hank raised his eyebrows.
"He was. Didn't bring anyone back to the Cabin, and roomed with Liv because Sienna wanted my bed because it's memory foam." Connor laughed.
Hank and my dad both looked at Mason.
He just closed his eyes and pursed his lips.
Oaken choked back a laugh.
"Oaken cried like a baby because Ben made fun of him." I glared at him.
He raised his eyebrows. "Liv had a breakdown because Cam called her." He crossed his arms.
I pursed my lips and nodded. "Alright, I'mma give you that." I pointed at him.
"That's what I thought." He smiled. "What'd you guys do this weekend?" He asked the parents.
"We had a date night Saturday." My mom smiled.
"No, you and Trish had a date night." My dad gave her a look.
"Two grown ass women having a sleepover in my living room and locking me out of my house, that is not a date night. That is a girls night." Hank laughed.
"You two are like Ollie and Abby." Mason laughed. "What did you two end up doing?"
"Sat over here and watched old WWE pay-per-views." My dad laughed.
"So you guys were teenagers this weekend." I laughed.
"Well, we missed our teenagers, so yes, we took your place." Trish laughed.
"I hope I'm a parent like you guys some day." Mason shook his head and took a bite.
And then everyone, including me got completely quiet and just looked at him.
He looked up and around at everyone. "What?"
"Huh?" My mom shook her head.
"Oh come on, you guys really don't think I want kids someday?" He gave us all a look.
"Do you?" Trish asked.
"Some day, yeah." He nodded. "When I'm older, and ready. Right now, I'm just living. Both Connor and I want kids some day."
And then we all just looked at Connor.
"We like sex. That's not a crime." Connor shook his head. "And yeah, some day when we're older, we're gonna meet someone who we would want to have a family with, settle down, and have a long happy life. We're just getting everything out of our systems before we do find that person."
And at this point we were all just giving them the stupidest looks.
"What did you two do with Connor and Mason." Oaken shook his head.
"Oh shut up." They both shook their heads and continued eating.
We finsihed eating, and I went upstairs and started finishing my homework I started friday night when my phone started going off.
And it was a text, from Mason.
M; So, just didn't want to mention the dance with Grayson, or?
I sighed and rolled my eyes.
O; And this is why I didn't. It's a dance.
M; Just didn't think to mention it to me with what we decided this weekend?
O; Mason Hollow, are you jealous?
M; No Oliver, I'm not jealous. But, come on, Will Grayson?
O; The dance got assigned the first day of class. A month ago. When I had a boyfriend that you helped run off! I didn't have to tell you.
M: And look at that. Now you have better. This weekened, I also didn't know I was going to have to watch another dude grab your ass on Saturday.
O; I'm a dancer Mason. This is just a dance.
M; And I'm just a soccer player.
O; You gonna let this go yet or continue to drive me nuts this week.
M: I've been driving you nuts since you were 3 and you're still not used to it.
O: I've been dancing since I was 4 and you're still not used to it?
M: I get it ok? I won't mention it again. But if I see his digits slip, I'm hitting him after the competition.
I rolled my eyes again.
O; Goodnight Mason.
M; Goodnight Ol.
I put my homework away, which was now finished, shut my light off, and just laid back.
And I tried for an hour. I really tried to fall asleep. But all that was running through my mind was the side of Mason Hollow that I'd never seen before. The one who actually talked about his feelings. Part of the future he wanted. And in 13 years, I had never seen it, or expected it from him. How now that we're out of our little bubble we were in at the cabin, and that I have no clue what to expect for the next 3 months, hiding from everyone we love other than Oaken. And how I spent the weekend falling asleep next to someone I never expected, and that now it doesn't feel normal not to.
And I had finally had enough of my thoughts, and picked up my phone.
I called the guy who was racing through my thoughts.
M; Didn't you tell me goodnight like an hour ago shit brick?
O; I can't sleep.
M; You alright?
O; You promise you wont laugh because I'm going to sound like a girl.
M: I'll try.
O; I just realized, I spent the whole weekend falling asleep next to someone, and now I can't.
I heard him laugh.
O: Mason
M: I'm sorry! Just, I never expected to hear you say that.
O; It's not funny.
M; Alright, alright. Just, turn around, and look out your window.
I turned on my light on my nightstand, and laid on my stomach to look out the window.
M; There, now I'm right here.
O; Do you really think we can do this Mase?
M: What, are you backing out already? We just got home.
O: Have I ever backed out of anything.
M; No. But-
O: Then there you go. Am I going to get freaked out sometimes? Yes. Or get scared because of the person I'm used to you being? Yes. But, that's part of being with someone.
He smiled.
M: You're with me?
O; You're the one who said you wanted to see eachother.
M; I'm scared too.
O: Now you have no reason to be scared of me.
M: You are the last person I'm scared of. I'm scared of me.
O: Why?
M; Because I'm me. I've never done this before. And, if for some reason, I do screw up, I lose you as a friend and more. But, if I don't screw it up, I could lose my bestfriend. And I don't want to lose either of you.
O; So you're backing out?
M; No, I'm not backing out Olivia. I just, I want this so bad. I don't feel like I'm going to screw up, because I don't even have the desire to look at another girl. But, it's not exactly a secret that you're wanted by many people. And I just feel like I'm going to see it and think the worst, I'll end up being my petty self and I'm going to screw it up.
O; So, maybe talk to me before you jump to conclusions. Don't go sleep with someone. Communication is key my friend.
M; Are you going to do the same? Becuase it's not exactly a secret that I'm a hot topic either.
O; OK, so maybe it'll take a while to not jump to conclusions. Just don't so anything impulsive.
M; You're gonna have to teach me how to be an exclusive kind of guy.
O: But we're not exclusive
M: Oh, so you're sleeping with other people?
O: No.
M: Then we're exclusive. Just not public yet.
I sighed.
M: What Ol?
O; Are you sure this is actually what you want?
M: Pick your head up.

Immovable Mage
What do you call a mage incapable of casting spells? In this story, we usually call him Terry. When the boy is accepted into Arcana Academy, his talent in the pillars of mana foundation awes everyone. All the bigger is the eventual disappointment when Terry turns out to be an utter failure at spellwork. Diagnosis? Major aspect impairment. No cure. Ever. Faced with expulsion, Terry is blessed with the unexpected kindness of others. Terry loses his spot in the Academy but in exchange, he finds a home with a family. Terry starts to train as a pure mana cultivator but never stops looking for his own path as a mage – day after day, season after season, always searching for compatible spellwork… Until finally, Terry’s perseverance earns him a single spell – the only spell he will ever be able to cast. Disclaimers: Chapter Frequency: I aim for one chapter a week. Chapter Length: I try to keep chapters between 3000 and 6000 words. Binge Preference: I plan for 30 chapters per arc. If you want to binge a complete arc, then that is the number to wait for. I will also add a line to chapters indicating the beginning and end of an arc. Advanced Access: I have created a patreon page with early access to four chapters for patrons. What to Expect: Progression fantasy with a western fantasy setting and with eastern fantasy elements. A main character that is forced to explore a very narrow path of magic due to a permanent condition. A main character that is a part of a larger cast. A main character that is growing but won't become the strongest around anytime soon. A story following a single main character but with introduction or theme setting scenes without the main character. What Not to Expect: Edgy grimdark characters – I will never write a sexual violence scene or gory descriptions of torture. I hate reading it and I would hate writing it even more. Romance – romantic relationships will never be the focus of the story and only appear in the background. The main character is preoccupied with other stuff. Other forms of relationships (family, friends, companions) play a bigger role. Cover: The cover art was commisioned from redditor Linh-Nguyen87. The font is alita brush by Inovatype Typefoundry.
