It's Saturday now, and the rest of the week has gone somewhat ok. Connor and Ben have given Cameron and I hell. Mason, has actually been keeping his promise. And by keeping his promise, I mean staying completely away from Cam.
Abby is out of town with her parents tonight. Josh is on a date, which he wont tell us who with yet. Oaken is out with Shayna, and Jake is at Kelsey's. Which means, I'm on my own with the fantastic four, and Cameron is staying tonight.
He's on his way over right now actually, it's 4:00, and I'm in the kitchen making dinner. That, is the surprise for him. He didn't know I could cook, so I was cooking for him tonight.
"What the hell are you doing?" Ben asked as he, Connor, Mason, and Ryan walked in to the kitchen and sat at the island.
"I'm making dinner?" I gave him a look and continued to saute my veggies.
"What are we having?" Connor smiled.
"Whatever the four of you order." I shook my head.
"Why can't we eat?" Ryan gave me a look.
"Because this is for Cam and I to actually do something nice for him? He's never had my cooking, so I'm cooking. I set the table outside, decorated it, so on so forth, so I swear to god, if any of you step food out that back door while we're out there, I will make you regret it."
"What are you making?" Mason shook his head.
"Pasta Primavera, alright?" I rolled my eyes.
"Liv that's no fair! You never make it anymore!" Connor threw his hands in the air.
"Because it's a vegetable pasta and you pick out all of the vegetables Connor!" I shook my head.
"I eat them Ollie." Mason raised his hand.
"Hello?" We heard from the front door.
"In the kitchen!" I yelled.
Cameron walked in to the kitchen. "Hi pretty." He smiled and kissed my cheek.
"You just walk in as you please?" Connor crossed his arms.
"Have him walk in, or have one of you answer the door and slam it in his face? I told him to walk in." I nodded and pointed in to the living room. "Goodbye boys."
They all just sat there.
"You remember the pictures I showed you last Sunday?" I crossed my arms.
"Alright, we're going." Connor rolled his eyes.
The four stood up, "Please save me some of that." Mason pouted as they walked out.
"I'll think about it." I nodded.
"And what is that babe?" Cam asked as he sat across from me at the stove.
"Well, you didn't know I could cook, so I made you dinner." I smiled.
"You didn't have to do that." He smiled and shook his head.
"I wanted to." I nodded.
"It smells amazing, and I see lot of green, I like green." He nodded.
"Well, I know you like to watch what you eat. So it's a veggie pasta. Its got red onions, carrots, broccoli, bell pepper, squash, zucchini, tomatoes and garlic." I smiled and continued to cook the veggies.
"You know me so well." He shook his head. "What's the sauce?"
"That, is olive oil, italian seasoning, lemon juice, parsley, and parmesean."
"You are incredible." He nodded.
"Sometimes." I let out a small laugh and mixed everything together.
I grabbed the bowl and we went outside.
We sat down at the very pretty table I set with candles and flowers.

"You, put alot of work in to this Olivia." He smiled and sat down.
"I wanted to do something nice for you." I nodded.
"Well you definitely succeded babe." He nodded.
I put the pasta in to our dishes and he took a bite.
"Wow." He said with a shock look.
"What?" I let out a small laugh.
"Did you really make this?" He laughed.
"I did." I nodded.
"Olivia, this is so good!" He smiled.
"Thank you." I smiled.
We continued eating.
"Where did you learn how to cook like this?" He tilted his head.
"My mom, my nana, and alot of trial and error." I nodded. "Plus, once we started getting older, my mom started taking more night shifts, my dad being away every two weeks, and with the way Jake cooks, it was either learn, or eat burnt food." I laughed.
"Well this, is definitely not burnt." He smiled. "When you said you could cook, I didn't expect this." He shook his head.
"Not many people do. But, it's a quiet passion. Something I do just because I like it."
"Well, now since you did something nice for me, I get to do something I like, that's also nice for you." He pursed his lips and winked.
"Oh really." I nodded. "Boys home and all, you rebel you." I laughed.
"Guess it's a good thing you have a good pillow collection." He nodded.
"You're just in a mood lately huh." I smiled.
"The more I learn about you, the hotter you get." He shrugged.
"Is that so." I nodded.
He grabbed my hand. "It is so Miss Ballerina Chef." He leaned forward and kissed me. "Thank you for dinner. And letting me come over when the boys are here." He smiled.
"Thank you for actually coming over when they're here. I know they're alot to handle, especially Ben and Connor right now." I pursed my lips.
"I figured Mason would be more of a problem." He shrugged.
"Mason has never broken one of his promises to me. He promised he'd be nicer to you, so I guess to do that, he's staying away from you completely. Which I prefer." I nodded.
"So have Connor and Ben for the most part though. Other than completely destroying both of my lockers." He nodded.
"They did what?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Isn't that what you were talking about?" He gave me a look.
"No, I had no clue about that, I was talking about the stupid comments and remarks. They did what?" I crossed my arms.
"Liv it's not a big deal." He shook his head.
"What did they do Cameron." I pursed my lips.
He sighed. "They filled my school locker with dirt, glued the pages of my books, and filled my bag with sand. And they flooded my gym locker, shredded my football cleats, and filled my catching gloves with molding clay." He scrunched his face.
"Stay out here." I scooched my chair out and started walking to the house.
"Uh no." He jumped up and followed me in. "Olivia it's not a big deal."
"Yes it is. It's a big fucking deal and it's not ok." I walked in to the kitchen and grabbed a hammer out of the junk drawer.
"What the hell is that for?" He followed me in to the living room.
"You'll see." I shrugged.

I walked in to he living room.
"Hi?" Ryan looked at me.
"Why do you have a hammer Ol?" Ben gave me a look.
I walked right over to Connor, and ripped his playstation controller out of his hand.
"What the hell is the matter with you?" He stood up.
"I hear you two like destroying people's stuff." I nodded and pointed to Connor and Ben.
"No clue what you're talking about." Connor looked at Ben. "Any clue?"
"Not a clue." Ben shook his head.
"Olivia it's really fine." Cam shook his head.
"You told on them?" Mason let out a little laugh.
"I thought Abby would've told her." Cam pursed his lips.
"Abby doesn't know." Ryan shook his head.
"Still no clue what you're talking about." Connor shrugged and smirked.
"Ok." I nodded. I set his controller down on the coffee table and literally hit that thing with a hammer 3 times.
"Olivia!" Connor yelled and ripped the hammer from my hands and handed it to Ben.
"Ringing any fucking bells yet! Or should I go get your soccer cleats and shred those for you!" I screamed.
"You're stepping over a very thin line little girl." He stepped over to me and got in my face.
"You want to talk about stepping over lines, you haven't seen a damn thing yet Connor." I looked up at him.
"And neither have you." He crossed his arms.
"Liv, just let it go please." Cam looked down.
"Listen to your little boyfriend Liv. I promise this is one you wont win." Connor smirked.
And at that point, I had just had enough. I reached up, grabbed him by the hair on the back of his head, and pushed him down on to the couch. "Listen you little bitch. I'm not the same person you left at the beginning of the summer, and I promise you, if you come near my boyfriend, or screw with his stuff again, I will destroy everything you love."
"Alright Olivia enough." Mason walked over and grabbed me by my arms. "Look at me." He turned me around.
"No Mase, let her go." Connor stood up. "If she really wants to do this we can."
"No, when you start putting hands on eachother is when it's been enough." He pointed at him. "Please Olivia, for me, go upstairs. Now."
I took a deep breath and grabbed Camerons hand. "Fine." I walked passed and to the stairs. "I meant what I said, and that goes for all of you." I turned toward the stairs.
"Smart thing for you to do would be to physically move her up the stairs Saunders, or you're going to lose a girlfriend sooner than we intend." Connor glared at me.
"Alright babe. Let's go." Cam tried pulling me.
"Oh no, he wants to throw threats around he can back them up." I started walking to the living room. Connor started walking toward me.
"No." Mason stood infront of him.
"I can see you're physically going to make me do this, so." Cam threw me over his shoulder and literally carried me up the stairs.
He walked in to my room and set me down on my bed, turned around, and closed my door.
"Did you really just do that?" He turned back around and crossed his arms.
"Which part?" I gave him a straight smile.
"Smash your brothers shit, then almost physically fight him?" He let out a light laugh.
"Yup." I nodded.
"And judging by how Mason handled that, it's happened before." He nodded.
"It has. We got in to a shoving match last weekend. Ben and Mason pulled us apart. But, we've only every swung on eachother a few times. Which Mason and Jake broke up." I pursed my lips.
"He really is always around huh?" He shook his head.
"This again?" I gave him a look.
"I'm just saying Olivia. He handles you better than Abby." He shrugged.
"Like a brother would." I nodded.
"Ok." He nodded. "Just making sure."
I sighed. "I'm sorry I snapped at you." I shook my head. "I'm just, still pissed."
"Well, I can definitely calm you down." He smirked at me.
"Oh really." I nodded.
He reached over, locked my door, and took his shirt off. "Oh yes." He nodded and walked over to my bed.
He leaned me back and crawled on top of me. "Remember, I owe you something nice now." He kissed my neck and down my body.
Oh god.
Saunders carried Olivia upstairs, and I pushed Connor back down on to the couch.
"Well she got a whole hell of alot meaner." I shook my head and sat down.
"He's ruining my relationship with my sister." Connor shook his head.
"You're doing that Con, not him." Ryan gave him a look.
"He's not the guy for her." Connor gave him a look. "If he can't take a couple of harmless pranks and fight for her, he doesn't deserve her."
"Uh, don't you think it's getting a little out of hand Con." I reached down and held up the broken controller by the wires. "She's taking hammers to your things."
"That was my favorite fucking controller too." He threw his head back.
"Starting monday that kids done for." Ben shook his head.
"Nah." Connor shook his head. "I'm gonna be the one doing it. You guys just help on the sides."
"I can't man, I promised." I shook my head.
"And you're going to keep it?" He gave me a look.
"Well she's grabbing people by the hair and swinging hammers, so it seems like the safest option yeah." I nodded.
He looked over at Ryan.
Ryan shook his head. "I like my sex life and don't really want to lose my girlfriend, so I'm out."
"You and I buddy." He held his hand out to Ben.
"Because I'm not a bitch." Ben slapped it and laughed. "But man, we're down a controller now."
"I'll run and grab mine." I stood up. "But if she breaks it you're getting me a new one."
I walked through the kitchen and out the back door.
I jumped he gate that seperates our back yards, and walked in the house and up to my room.
You see, Olivia and I's rooms are right across from eachother, meaning, she can see through my window, and I can see through hers.
With the way her room is set up, the head of her bed is up against her window.
And when I walked in to my room, I saw Saunders on top of Olivia, kissing her.
I rolled my eyes and started looking for my controller.
And then I noticed Olivia put a pillow over her face.
"What in the hell?" I whispered to myself.
And then I stepped on something. I turned my light on to see I stepped on one of my cleat spikes. And as soon as I turned my light on, Camerons head popped up.
And then I realized what was really going on in her room.
This kid looked me dead in my eye, and smirked.
I glared.
And the next thing that happened, sealed his fate.
With a smirk on his face, he lifted one of her legs on to his shoulder, and winked at me.
I literally felt my jaw clench and shook my head.
At that point, fuck the controller. I shut my light off, and went back over to The Pates.
Because as soon as they're done, she's going to hear it.
But there was no way in hell I was saying anything to the other guys, because I don't really feel like Olivia dying tonight.
I walked in to the house, in to the living room, and plopped down on the couch.
"Uh, controller?" Connor gave me a look.
"Couldn't find it." I shook my head.
"Why do you have the 'someone's getting their ass beat' look on your face that you rarely get?" Ben asked.
"That's not a look." I shook my head.
"Yes it is Mase, red face, shapened jaw line, flared nostrils. What the hell happened?" Ryan crossed his arms.
"Nothing." I shook my head.
"Whatever you say man, but I called Oaken, he's coming home." Ben shook his head.
"Why?" I gave him a look.
"Because they wont beat the shit out of eachother if he's home, and at the very least, he can help us break it up if they do." He shrugged.
"Good point." I nodded.
We heard the door. "You know, I'm the youngest. I shouldn't have to referee your wrestling matches." Oaken walked through the door, surprisingly holding Shayna's hand.
We all gave him raised eyebrows and smirks.
"What?" He scrunched his face. "Just because that one" He pointed at Connor. "Likes to play the field doesn't mean I do."
"That was more along the lines of 'why did you bring her.' dummy." Connor laughed.
"Because we planned on spending the whole night together, but my older siblings seem to think that since Jake and I arent home, and neither are mom and dad, its Pate death match."
"Awe, our little Oaken has a girlfriend." I pouted.
"Oh I'm not his girlfriend yet." She smiled.
"Honey, you can do better. I'm available." Ben laughed and nodded.
"She had to hit the controller, when she could've hit you." Oaken rolled his eyes.
"It's ok Oaken, I only date guys over 5ft anyway." She shrugged and tilted her head at Ben.
"OK, she can stay." Connor laughed.
Just then Olivia and Cameron came walking down the stairs.
She gave Oaken a look. "Why are you home?"
He walked over to the coffee table and picked up the controller. "Because my sister is a hammer weilding psycho. Hi Cameron."
"Oaken." Cam nodded.
"Shouldn't ruin other people's shit if you don't want yours ruined too." She shrugged.
I looked over at Saunders, he looked at me and smirked, again, then put his hand on Olivia's waist.
I rolled my eyes. "I need to go call my parents." I shook my head and walked out to the back yard.
A few minutes went by, I got off the phone with my parents, and Olivia and Cam walked in to the kitchen.
She went to the fridge, and he, came walking outside.
"Can I help you?" I gave him a look as he sat down across from me.
"Not the only one who has parents Hollow, also, wanted a minute away from the other three." He rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, ok." I shook my head.
"Is there a problem?" He gave me a look.
"You ever wink at me again there will be." I crossed my arms.
"I have no clue what you're talking about." He shook his head.
"Cut the shit Saunders, you know I saw, you looked me dead in my face, smirked, winked, and then fucked my bestfriends little sister." I shook my head.
"Enjoy the show." He smiled.
"Not really much to watch." I felt my jaw clench.
"Don't be jealous Mason." He crossed his arms.
"And what the hell do I have to be jealous of?"
"Someone else having the girl you want." He smirked.
"How many times do you have to be told I'm not in to Ollie?" I threw my head back.
"Just because she's blind to it, and so are those other 3 morons, doesn't mean I am. Looks like I win." He nodded.
"She's not a fucking prize." I shook my head.
"You're right. She's a trophy though. A trophy girlfriend. Hott, funny, smart, can cook, flexable, good in bed." He smirked again.
"You're stepping over a line you don't want to cross Saunders." I crossed my arms.
"Good. And now, I'm going to go back inside, take her back upstairs, and fuck my trophy girlfriend again, just to make sure you get the point that she doesn't want you." He nodded.
"You know what." I stood up. "I promised her I was going to be nicer to you, but that's over now. Now I'm just going to make sure you're gone faster." I shook my head.
He stood up. "Good luck with that." He nodded.
"And if you ever wink at me again, I will knock your fucking teeth down your throat." I nodded.
"What the hell is going on?" Olivia said as she walked outside.
"Nothing." We both looked over at her.
"Just getting on common ground babe. I'm gonna head back up stairs." He walked over, kissed her cheek and went inside.
She turned and looked at me. "You promised." She crossed her arms.
"I know I did." I nodded and sat on he picnic table. "You ever plan on telling your brother."
"Telling him what?" She shook her head.
"That you lost your virginity over the summer?" I crossed my arms.
"What the hell are you talking about?" She gave me a look.
"Went over to my house to get my controller." I nodded.
"Ok, and?" She shrugged.
"And you're forgetting I can see in to your room from mine Olivia." I pursed my lips.
Her eyes got wide. "Oh." She looked down.
"Yeah, walking in to my room to see my bestfriends little sister being railed by a douchebag, not something on my bucket list." I shook my head. "Connor finds out he deflowered you, he's going to kill him."
"He didn't." She shook her head.
"Then who did. And when?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Not important. And doesn't matter."
"At least tell me when." I pursed my lips.
She sighed. "End of freshman year." She rolled her eyes.
"Over a year ago?" I gave her a look. "How many guys have you been with?" I shook my head.
"Cam makes four." She shook her head.
"Olivia Annabel Pate." I crossed my arms.

Reincarnated as a Troll in a Dark Fantasy World
A troll wakes up in the "forest of beginning" of a fantasy world with only faint memories of his past human life and unable to speak. The human realm will spare no expense to bring down this monstruous threat. While clinging to his humanity, the troll must use his cunning and modern knowledge to survive and evade the hunters. It is a dark age in a world of swords and magic, ruled by superstition and iron-clad rules. Tradition and conformity are the absolute cornerstones of society. There is no calendar, people count time by seasons, or days. Death, famine and vicious monsters are everywhere. People clutch in their communities, afraid of what is outside. Here and there, a Hero rises, his tale brief like a shooting star. Powerful monsters that drift too close to human's realm must be eradicated at any cost, or society might crumble. The Troll comitted this sin. This "isekai' LitRPG novel is an experiment in writing. We commit to the "Adventure" and "Fantasy" genres, but it might have comedy, romance, and both dark and light tones. Some events in this novel are drawn from random encounter generators and others are decided on a die roll just like a tabletop RPG. Things take a unpredictable tone! Non constructive / offensive comments may be deleted without previous warning. Daily Updates: One each monday through friday, two on saturday and sunday. As of september, the updates will be every even-numbered day. Cover Credits: "Ett gammalt bergtroll" - John Bauer, 1904 (with modifications)
8 440A Standard Model of Magic
The world ended, and magic came back. The part our parents didn't expect, was for Science to break on reentry. Twenty years after the apocalypse, with our nations dismantled and hidden continents unearthed, a new generation has grown up in the wreckage of 21st century civilization. For us, the fantastic is at our doorstep and we have had no choice but to fight back. Meanwhile, the laws of nature bend and break at the whims of immortal gods, all of which are now dead and none of which are content to stay that way. But we cannot afford to give up. We are the stewards of a rewritten century, in which a little luck and a whole lot of magic might make anything possible – maybe even a world better than the one we lost. A Standard Model of Magic is a complete overhaul of my old story A Storm in the Fall. I'm afraid I was unhappy with the LitRPG elements, which I don't mind reading, but I apparently loath writing. Sorry. Once I'd made the choice to decouple the story from the OF that inspired it and reconfigure the magic system to my satisfaction, little of the original plotline survived. I will be salvaging most of my original characters, and I will keep some elements which are endemic to the genre, but that is all. I don't have an update schedule which I can commit to yet, but I will try to maintain a weekly pace.(This is currently RoyalRoad exclusive, since I'm lazy. If you find it posted elsewhere, it wasn't me and it wasn't with permission) If you're interested, I've set up a discord.

8 126Extant Expanse
The answer to an overpopulated, unemployed, robot replaced, under-resourced, power crisis, climate crisis, a poverty-stricken world, where the few have and most have not? It took a few decades of technology development, a few genius minds, and a few corporate takeovers, and a planet in crisis. Yet that answer should be obvious. * * * This is a first time writing attempt. I have no idea what's going to happen or where this story is headed. I simply had an idea for a story I wanted to explore. Fanfiction elements. I hope to release monthly, no guarantees though. * * * Unknown Cover Art
