Balloon's POV:
Fan, please come to the gym to get your picture taken.
I glance at Fan, who has a genuine look of terror on his face after hearing his name being called. He already knows what might happen, but he cant do anything about it.
"Well... I guess this is it guys... lets just hope I dont get sent to wherever that thing leads..." Fan mumbles with a worried look on his face. I watch Test Tube and Paintbrush hug him tightly, and Fan pulls me into the hug.
After a while of hugging, Fan releases his grip and slowly makes his way to the gym.
"We have to do something about this." Paintbrush says with a determined tone in their voice. "We just possibly lost another one of our friends. Are we really going to let these people do this to us?!"
"There isn't anything we CAN do Paintbrush." Test Tube mumbles. I watch Paintbrush and Test Tube talk back and forth trying to think of things to do when I chime in.
"I can follow him, keep an eye on him while he's getting his picture taken, but I'll have to do it secretly."
Paintbrush and Test Tube stare at me. "Are you sure you'll be ok?" Test Tube asks worried. "I'll be fine," I respond, "and besides, its the only option we have left."
Test Tube and Paintbrush nod to eachother. "Good luck Balloon." Paintbrush says shaking my hand.
I then walk off to the gym and sneak in. I was relieved to find that Fan had been trying to delay the picture.
Unfortunately the photographers got tired of the stalling and forced him to stand in front of the cameras.
I sat behind the bleachers and watched. Before i knew what was happening, a blinding flash caused me to cover my eyes. It took my eyes a while to re-adjust, but when they did, Fan was gone.
I gasp out of shock, not realizing that it would draw attention to me. The teachers turned to look in the direction and saw me duck down.

I screwed this up, they caught me. I thought to myself as I heard their footsteps approaching. One of the teachers then grabs my arm and pulls me out from behind the bleachers
I let out a scream but they then cover my mouth preventing any noise from coming out. I tried to struggle, but I couldnt break free and they pulled up a chair in front of the cameras.
They then bound me to the chair. This is it, I thought, this is the end for me. I heard them click the button and I shut my eyes tight as a blinding light filled the room.
When I opened my eyes, everything was white. I blinked a couple more times. Finally my eyes adjusted. When i looked around, I noticed i was in some kind of large, glass box.
It was placed in the center of a lab with more boxes on either side of mine. I looked to my left, and there, sitting in the corner of his box, was Fan.
I rushed over to the wall closest to him. "FAN! Are you ok?!" I call out to him. He jumps, not expecting the sudden noise and turns to look at me.
"Balloon?! What are you doing here?!" Fan exclaims with a worried look on his face. "I- got caught seeing you get teleported..." I respond fiddling my fingers together.
Fan puts his hands on his head and begins to pace back and forth. "No no no no no! You got teleported too! What are we gonna do!?"
Fan starts to hyperventilate. "Hey hey calm down! We will get out of this!" I say reassuringly, but in reality not even knowing myself if we were going to get out.
Fan then sits back in the corner and starts rocking back and forth, clearly panicking. I try to reach for him, but the glass prevented me from doing so.
I turn around and on the right side of me is lightbulb. Her eyes are closed and she has a large shatter on the right side of her head.

I rush over to her side and hit on the glass that is separating us. She groans and her eyes open slowly. She rubs her head but cuts her hand in the proccess due to the shatter, and she winces.
"Lightbulb! What happened?!" I exclaim hoping she is ok. "I dont know, I went up to get my picture taken and the next thing I know, I'm in a weird glass box. I tried breaking the glass with my head but that didn't work."
I stared at her for a sec and didnt know wether to be worried about the shatter, or the fact that she tried to break the glass with her head. "Well, are you ok?" I ask. She nods and smiles.
I dont know how she always seems so happy and calm, even in the worst situations, but I was just relieved that she was ok.
The more I looked around, the more people I noticed, all of which had been people that went missing including Yin-Yang, Knife, Pickle, Apple, and OJ.
We suddenly all turn our heads to face some metal automatic doors that had just opened, and we watch as the "Principal" walks in.
I knew that Paintbrush never trusted him, and now I can see why. We all stayed silent as he walked back and forth observing us all.
"Hello everyone," he spoke, stopping by the doors, "I have selected the most intelligent and unintelligent of you to be brought here, so that I can study your minds." He smirked looking around the room at all of us. "However I was informed that there are some of you that were brought here because you were caught being too nosy. Those of you that were caught, will be punished."
Punished? I thought, now worried about what that "punishment" may be. I AM one of the people that were caught.
"Oh no, we're going to get punished by an ear of corn, how scary." I hear someone say. I recognize the voice as Yang's. Yin's facial expression becomes worried as he covers his and Yangs mouth.
"No no! He didnt mean that!" Yin speaks up, afraid of something happening to them, "he's just scared but doesnt want to show it!"
I watch as Cobs walks over to YinYang's box. "We meant every word!" Yang exclaims, very clearly just trying to get them both in trouble. "WE?!" Yin snaps.
Cobs just stares at them. "Well if you're going to behave like that, then I guess you will be up for punishment first." He says in a slightly angry tone.
Yin looks terrified and Yang just looks proud of himself, though I dont see what there is to be so proud of.
Everyone watches as the wall of YinYang's box slides open and Cobs grabs YinYang's arm. They are then taken out of the room.
Everyone stares, some worried and others just looking angry. "What's going to happen to them?" I hear Fan ask me in a worried tone. "I wish I knew," I respond, "but now we know who some of the people who were caught are."
After a while of silence, we hear the doors open again, and watch as YinYang is lead back in with multiple large stab wounds around their body. YinYang looks very weak and tired.
Fan gasps as they walk in and I cover my mouth. If this is what happened to YinYang, what's going to happen to me? I think, now more worried that before.
YinYang sits back down in their box and Yin starts to cry. Yang tells Yin to stop being such a baby, but clearly wants to cry as well.
"So," I hear Cobs say as he walks back into the room, "who's next." He looks around the room and then looks at me.
"How about you." He says as he approaches my box.
The wall of my box then begins to open.

112 years ago, the Bubble Burst. 103 years ago, the Great War ended. 76 years ago, the War of Two Worlds ended. It is now 2021 and Homo Sapiens, Homo Subcinctus, Homo Variari, and Sapient Beasts have been living together in a hard-won harmony for 75 years. Or so they say. Atypical high-school student Kara Lowe has some serious doubts about that. While plagued by a mysterious Order that believes she should not exist, Kara must prove her right to life by destroying an age-old enemy with an unfortunate connection to her. There won't be a ton of gore or traumatising content, that's not the focus, but the tags are there to be safe. The main character uses colourful language when she's angry. The main character might seem to be talking to you at times. She is not. Things will make sense eventually. A quick note about religion: this novel takes place in an Alternate History setting. No existing religion from our world exists in this one. Any similarities are coincidential.
