Narrator p.o.v
It was early in the morning. The students gathered at the entrance. Each of them had their luggage for the trip to Tokyo, which would last for some days, the first two being the event.
Utahime: "Alright students, are you ready?"
All: "Yes, Sensei!"
Utahime: "Great, now let's get going. We've got a train to catch."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They soon began their journey to the train station, which was rather calmed with the occasional small talk and (y/n) almost getting ran over if it wasn't by Aoi, which had stopped him from crossing when a truck was passing by.
The people would often stare at them, confused why they were all dressed the same, except for Utahime and Yoshinobu.
They eventually reached the train station, boarding their train and sitting on their respective seats, and in some hours they'll reach their destiny. The seats were in pairs, Aoi sat with Kamo, Miwa with Mechamaru, Utahime with Yoshinobu, and lastly, Momo with Mai.
(y/n) was sitting behind Miwa and Mechamaru, in front of Aoi and Kamo, and on the next aisle, were Mai and Momo.
Each of them was talking about trivial things or looking from the windows, watching how everything the train passed was just seen as a blur. Except for a certain someone, which didn't see them at all.
The whole trip was silent for (y/n), occasionally Miwa would turn around and say some things to him but the rest was just silent, ending up falling asleep. Again, Miwa turned around to comment to (y/n) about some things in Tokyo, but she saw him leaning on the window, she assumed he was sleeping since he didn't respond, and it wasn't like she could differentiate whether his eyes are open or closed. So she decided to take a photo of a peaceful (y/n). Something rare since he always seemed full of energy.
With a soft smile, she put her phone in her pocket and sat down normally. Awaiting the arrival in Tokyo.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The train stopped, letting the passengers onboard exit after a 2-hour journey to the capital Tokyo, the students were grabbing their luggage as (y/n) was still in deep slumber. Miwa tried to wake him up, but as it didn't give results, Momo smacked him with her broom, instantly waking him up.
(y/n): "Gah!"
Momo: "About time."
Miwa: "M-momo-chan!"
Momo: "What? He wasn't waking up."
After an apology from Miwa, the students finally left the train station, making their way to a location where they'll meet.
As they walked through the busy streets of Tokyo, they couldn't help but stare at everything, since it was somewhat different from Kyoto. The difference between them was very noticeable. Kyoto was a more traditional place, while Tokyo was way modern and with a lot of people on the streets, the sightseeing was more tiring than in Kyoto, being more relaxing.
(y/n) already wanted to go back, seeing a lot of souls, (some of them having a taint of red meaning they have killed someone) and the sound of the people was disturbing for him.
Some employees from the Tokyo Jujutsu High went to pick them up, in three different cars since they were 9 people in total, in the first car was Utahime and Yoshinobu, on the second was the third years, Momo, Noritoshi and Aoi, and on the last one was the second years, Miwa, Mechamaru, Mai and (y/n). Mechamaru was on the passenger seat due to his size and the other three on the back, (y/n) being on the middle seat, eating some dango he bought on the way.

After some moments they reached their destiny, the students walked inside as the employees took their luggage to their respective rooms.
They began to walk up a large set of stairs, hearing some screaming in the distance they couldn't hear what they were saying but as they went higher it became audible for them.
???: "I won't forget you, Okkotsu Yuta! Not that I've ever met you!"
They eventually reached the top, the first one to get there being Mai.
Mai: "Oh, look. It's everyone from Tokyo together."
The rest eventually got to the top, standing beside each other, having a stare-off with the Tokyo students. Except for two of the Kyoto students, which weren't looking at them at all.
Mai: "You went out of your way to greet us? Disgusting."
Aoi: "Okkotsu's not here"
???: "Shut up. Hurry up and over the cake box, and the yatsuhashi, kudzu noodles, and buckwheat cookies. And who's that Gojo-Sensei wannabe?"
(y/n): G-Gojo wannabe?!
Momo: "Who is that first-year? She's scary."
Mechamaru: "Never mind Okkotsu being absent. Isn't having to first-years a major handicap?"
Nobara: "A robot! It's a robot!"
Noritoshi: "Age is irrelevant to Jujutsu Sorcerers. Especially with Fushiguro-kun. He's from the Zen'in bloodline, but he's more talented than the head of the clan."
Mai: "Tsk." She said in an annoyed tone while glaring at Noritoshi.
Noritoshi: "Something to say?"
Mai: "Nope."
Miwa: "Now, now... Calm down, you two."
A clap was heard from behind the Kyoto students, as they turned around and saw her Sensei Utahime walking up the stairs.
Utahime: "Ok, now. Let's not fight amongst ourselves. My goodness, these children. So, where's that idiot?"
???: "Satoru's late"
(y/n) Is that a Panda?!
???: "As if that idiot would ever show up on time."
Megumi: "No one said 'idiot' referred to Gojo-Sensei
(y/n): "Hey, Mai. That girl over there 'feels' similar to you. Are you two perhaps related?"
Mai: "...She's my twin, unfortunately."
(y/n): "Oh."
Before they could continue talking, the sound of the shrieks of tires was heard in the distance. They turned around and spotted Satoru approaching them with a box with wheels, with some dolls on top of it.
Satoru: "Sorry for the wait!"
Utahime/Miwa: "Tsk. Gojo Satoru/Gojo Satoru!"
Satoru: "Hey, I see everyone's together. I was on a business trip overseas. So I will now hand out souvenirs!"
Panda: "This is sudden."
Nobara: "Sure it's not jet lag?"
Satoru: "Okay, everyone from Kyoto gets this protective charm from a particular tribe. None for you, Utahime."
Utahime: "I Don't need one!"
The Kyoto students were looking at the dolls with a dumbfounded expression, except for Miwa and (y/n), Miwa was admiring it with glee, whether as (y/n) was watching the box that Satoru brought, seeing that 'two' people were inside.
Satoru remembered (y/n)'s existence as he put his arm around his shoulder, bringing him closer to him, having to slightly bend down due to the difference of height.
Satoru: "Oh, dear (y/n). How are you! Are they treating you well in Kyoto?"
(y/n): "Y-yeah."
Miwa watched the interaction between the blindfolded duo and noticed the similarity between (y/n) and Satoru, except for the height, obviously. She had practically a smaller version of Satoru always near.
Satoru let go of (y/n) and looked at the Tokyo students.
Satoru: "And for everyone from Tokyo, we have this!" He said while spinning with the box and lifting his leg.
Nobara: "Overly excited adults are creepy."
The box suddenly opened, and a student came out of it.
???: "Hey! OPP!"
Satoru: "It's your departed friend, Itadori Yuji-kun!"
The Tokyo First-years could only stare at him as Yuji grew confused.
Yuji: Huh?! Huh? Huh?! They don't seem happy at all! N-no way.
Satoru: "Okay, everyone from Kyoto! This is Sukuna's vessel, Itadori Yuji-kun!."
He turned the box around as Yuji was still in the same pose.
Yuji: Wh-what about the ones from Kyoto?
But the Kyoto students were rather focused on the souvenirs given by Satoru, not even giving him a slight glance.
Yuji: They're too absorbed in their souvenirs!
Meanwhile, on one side were the Kyoto Jujutsu principal, Yoshinobu, and the Tokyo Jujutsu principal, Masamichi Yaga.
Principal Yoshinobu: "Sukuna's vessel?! What's the meaning of this?"
Satoru noticed the presence of Yoshinobu and turned around to face him while waving his hand.
Satoru: "Principal Gakuganji! Oh, thank goodness... I was worried you might just die from the shock"
Principal Yoshinobu: You damn brat!
Then, the students were taken to the entrance of what was going to be the challenge of the day. They were guided to an entrance as some fireworks were occasionally seen.
Principal Yaga: "The Tokyo-Kyoto Sister School Exchange event will be held over two days. The first day is a group battle... The Wacky Cursed Spirit Exorcism Race! The rules are simple. The first team to exorcise the second-year cursed spirit released in the designated area wins. Several third-grade and lower cursed spirits will be released into the designated area, as well. If a winner is not decided until sundown, the team that exorcises the most wins. There are absolutely no other rules. Of course, you're welcome to sabotage the others, but remember, you're all on the same side in the fight against the curses. This exchange event will allow you to learn about yourselves and your comrades through competition. Be certain to not kill other competitors, or injure them beyond recovery."
As he was explaining the rules, he had Satoru on an arm lock, while he was tapping his shoulder to be let free, as Utahime giggled softly by the scene.
Principal Yaga: "That's it. You're all dismissed until the event commences at noon!"
The principals along with the professors of each school left to their own meeting side of the school. As the students followed.
Yuji: "Wait, why do the Kyoto students have one more than us? Isn't it unfair?"
???: "Salmon"
(y/n): "Why does that guy keep talking on a food vocabulary?"
Aoi: "He's a cursed speech user, so it's normal for him to talk without using normal words. And he's also the one we must be careful of."
(y/n): "Oh, Right." That would explain the amount of cursed energy in his mouth.
The Kyoto students were in a big park, walking around, "bonding". Although they already wanted to head back into the school and stay there for the time being. Until Aoi proposed a game, how many pigeons someone could capture, and the one who had the most wins. The price would be that each student had to obey an order from the winner. Neither Mai, Mechamaru, Miwa nor Noritoshi wanted to participate, but the rest did.
Momo was sure she was going to be the winner, with her broom she could capture any pigeon, but there was a certain rule that prohibited it, they couldn't show any type of cursed technique out in public. So she quit. Only Aoi and (y/n) were the ones left.
Mai: "You're weirdos, you know?"
Miwa: "I don't think it's a good idea..."
Noritoshi: "Do what you want, but I won't participate in it."
Mechamaru: "We shouldn't bring attention to ourselves."
Aoi: "Weak... Are you ready, (y/n)-san?"
(y/n): "Yes!"
Aoi: "Begin!"
They both rushed at a quick speed, jumping around attempting to catch the pigeons, some would slip, others would fly away.
Aoi would use his momentum to jump to the tree branches where the pigeons would be, managing to grab a few, keeping them under his arm.
(y/n) on the other hand, would jump from tree to tree, catching the pigeons off guard, making them an easy catch.
This went on for a couple of minutes until the sounds of sirens could be heard. It turns out people had called the police on them.
Mai: "See what you have done? Let's go, let them solve their own problems"
The rest agreed, walking to the school, Miwa turned her head around, a bit nervous to what might happen to the pigeon catchers.
(y/n): "Eh?"
Aoi: "Flee!"
Both of them immediately went running away from the police officers, still with the pigeons in their arms, making the cops try to follow, but Aoi's and (y/n)'s speed was way above an average human, difficulting them the pursuit.
Eventually, they had to release the pigeons as they exited the park, and went as soon as possible to the school, not wanting to be arrested.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After some minutes they finally arrived, panting and sweating. They walked up to some grass and lay on it.
Aoi: "It... seems that there isn't a winner."
(y/n): "Y-yeah... But I have this tho."
He pulled an egg from a pocket on his jacket, showing it to Aoi.
Aoi: "Does that even count? How did you even get that?"
(y/n): "It was on a bird's nest so... It's a pre-pigeon so it has to count right?"
Aoi grabbed the egg and threw it the furthest he could.
(y/n): "H-hey!"
Aoi: "Now there isn't a winner."
(The egg landed safely back where it belonged)

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!
