《Cursed eyes (Jujutsu Kaisen x Male reader)》4. Day off for (y/n)

Narrator p.o.v
It was currently a sunny day. (y/n) was just wandering around the school, as usual. It was one of the days where he could get to stay in the school and not go out on missions, still alone. But he always got the job done, and besides, he used the time he got to be outside to walk around the forest area of the school.
There was still a week left until the Goodwill event, which the Kyoto students were already prepared for. Including (y/n). So their mission rate had decreased lately, now going almost once or twice a week for a mission.
But now, it was his day off. Students would regularly have one, depending on their missions and accidents that may occur. On days like these, he would sit in the school's garden and admire nature for hours and hours, until another student would call him to do something. But today was different. Mai, Mechamaru, Kamo, and Aoi were sent on missions. Leaving only Miwa and Momo, which were out doing something.
So (y/n) took the opportunity of this, and used his time to stay in the garden as much as he wanted, ending up smelling like leaves and flowers, or sitting in a place for too long that if you touched his clothes, they would be warm thanks to the sun hitting it for so much time, it was also his whole body, you could think he had a fever but in reality, it was nothing. He never had gotten a sunburn. His skin remained in a good condition all the time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was now mid-afternoon, (y/n) had been staying in the same place for a couple of hours now. Momo and Miwa had finished what they were doing and were back at the school. A wondering Miwa had spotted (y/n) sitting on the grass, not moving at all, barely looking like he was breathing. She walked behind him and bent down to his level.
Miwa: "(y/n)-san?"
But she didn't receive an answer. She repeated her words but ended with the same result. Slightly alarming her. Miwa grabbed his shoulder and noticed the high temperature in his jacket was. Then she put the back of her hand on (y/n)'s cheek, feeling how hot he was. Her suspicions were correct.
Miwa: "You're burning up! Let's get you to your room!"
She tried to carry (y/n) but ended up dragging him since she got tired because the dorms were quite far from where they were. Mai and Mechamaru, who had just returned from their mission, spotted her grabbing (y/n) from the wrists and taking him inside the dorms. Confused by this, Mai went to check as Mechamaru went with the principal to advise that their mission was successful.
Upon reaching (y/n)'s room, she went to unlock it with a key in his pocket but was surprised to find out that he didn't lock the door, in fact, he never does, because he doesn't know he can do it. And thought that the key was just some weird metal.

His room was spotless, except for some jackets and pants on the ground. Besides that, it was squeaky clean, his bed was tidy, and no dust was to be seen in any furniture or windows.
Laying him on his bed, Miwa, with the biggest blush possible, took his jacket off, putting it on a chair nearby, going to the bathroom to get some wet towels. Having to take care of his two younger brothers had taught her how to take care of a sick person.
Unlucky for her, as she was removing his jacket, Mai peeked her head in the door frame, watching how she unbuttoned the shirt of a sleeping (y/n). Seeing this without knowing what had happened, many ideas flooded her mind.
Mai: "My, my~, I didn't know you were like this, Kasumi-chan~"
Miwa froze in place. Doing what she was doing was embarrassing enough, having someone catch you doing what she was doing without knowing further, was even more embarrassing.
Miwa: "I-I-I-It's not what it looks like!"
Mai: "poor sleeping (y/n)~"
Miwa: "I-I'm not-! Hehasafeverandimonlytryingtohelpimnottryingtodoanyhtingelse!"
Mai: "a fever?"
Miwa: Y-yeah..."
Mai: "Riiiight..."
Mai walked up to (y/n) and placed the back of her hand on his cheek, just like Miwa had done moments ago, also feeling his high temperature.
Miwa: "s-see?"
Mai: "I guess you're right."
Miwa carefully removed his bandages and placed them on a table nearby. His eyes were shut, not looking like they were going to open any time soon. She placed the wet towel on his forehead, letting it rest there for a couple of minutes.
Mai: "Say, have you ever wondered what hid behind those bandages?"
Miwa: "Sometimes, but it looks like he doesn't have any injures."
Mai: "Hm, but if he hides his eyes is for a reason, let's check it out!"
Miwa: "I-I'm not sure, w-what if it's something private? He was hiding because of something."
As they kept talking about whether they should or should not open his eyelids to reveal what was hidden for them. The certain person whose eyes were being talked about woke up, slowly opening his eyes, revealing his (e/c) eyes, not knowing that his bandages had been removed.
Blinking a few times and feeling the wetness on his forehead, he spotted Mai and Miwa standing beside his bed; he examined Mai's features and admired Miwa's, the hair of Mai was something he hadn't seen before, a darkish-green hair. Both of them only stared at his eyes, stranged by the kanji on them. It took him a few moments until he realized he was stripped of his bandages and his shirt unbuttoned.
(y/n): "KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
He scrambled to get his bandages but failed, ending up hiding under the blankets.
(y/n): "P-perverts"
Miwa: "N-no! Y-you just have an f-fever, I was trying to h-help you!"
(y/n): "a fever? But I feel fine"
Mai looked at Miwa with a smug look, while she was a blushing mess.

Mai: "So, (y/n), what's that on your eyes? Hm?"
(y/n): "E-eh? T-there's nothing on my e-eyes!"
Mai: "Can't fool us, there was some strange Kanji on them, I've never seen them before."
(y/n): "It's just- uhmm..."
By now, Mai had taken the blanket off of him, and (y/n) was sitting down with his eyes closed.
Miwa: "I mean, you don't need to tell us if it's something private..."
Mai: "But we have already seen them so-"
(y/n): "F-fine"
He slowly opened his eyes, revealing the Kanji. Miwa and Mai leaned closer to have a better look at them. Before he could explain, Utahime entered the room, alarmed by (y/n)'s scream which was heard in almost the entire school. He immediately shut his eyes.
Utahime: "What's going... on"
Miwa: "U-utahime-Sensei!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the incident, Miwa and Mai swore to keep what they had just discovered a secret. They were now outside. Utahime had told them to use these days to relax and prepare for the Goodwill event.
So Mai told (y/n) to come with her to the city, which he accepted. They changed their outfit from their usual sorcerer uniform to more casual clothing. This time, (y/n) took off his bandages and replaced them with sunglasses dark enough that people couldn't see what was behind them since Mai had already seen them and he wanted to get to see the city.
They walked around, seeing the modern and ancient parts of Kyoto, the temples and shrines, and last, the bamboo path. Which (y/n) was begging Mai to go there.
Mai: "So, why did you want to come here? It's just bamboo."
(y/n): "It looks like it, but it isn't, it's a soothing place, walking around the large bamboo, so high it looks like they're touching the sky, not being bothered by someone or something... just sitting there. Nature is something really beautiful."
Mai: "Got sentimental?... And what's with you and nature?
(y/n): "Oh, someone had taught me to appreciate it, and after seeing how it changed, how it was changed over time, it makes you see more in it than just plants and dirt."
Mai: "You're starting to sound like an old person."
(y/n): "Hehe, sorry... By the way, what's with your hair? Its strange color is pretty, a darkish green, just like nature. Are you perhaps a deity from nature?"
Mai: "My hair? A deity?"
(y/n): "Yeah, I've never seen someone with a color like that before, well, a human at least. That would mean you're a deity, right?"
Mai: "E-eh? You consider every person with different hair color a deity?" That would explain why he calls Miwa 'sama'.
(y/n): "They must be."
Mai: "Well, do you think I am one?'
(y/n) removed his glasses, and appreciated Mai's features more closely, paying special attention to her hair, and her face, as Mai looked again at his eyes.
(y/n): "Definitely."
Mai blushed a little at (y/n)'s comment, making sure he didn't see it.
Mai: "I-if you think so... who am I to deny your beliefs? "
He put his glasses back on. They continued walking until reaching the end of the path, turning around and making their way back to the school as the sun lowered and the moonlight illuminated the path. Making some casual talk in the way. Getting to know each other.
Mai: "You know... I like to take care of cactus."
(y/n): "Cactus? That's... strange, but very nice of you at the least, it really resembles your personality. Fierce and ready to sting someone. Although many people believe that having a cactus in their homes brings negative energy by their spikes, they're something that shows us how nature tries to survive, as the humans do."
Mai: "W-what? Is this your philosophical side? or this is you trying to shoot your shot?"
(y/n): "N-none of that. I'm just happy you do that."
Mai: "Right..."
The rest of the trip was calm, neither of them saying a word, just enjoying their presence, or at least (y/n) was. Talking about nature with someone could really brighten his day, it was simple but special to him. He enjoyed teaching and showing the wonderful green side of the planet.
While Mai was curious about what was his thing with nature. She had the hobby of taking care of cactus but it was different from him, she even had one or two in her room, watering them when needed, and overall liked them having them there.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally reaching school grounds, each of them went their own ways, Mai to her room and (y/n) to walk around.
As (y/n) walked around, he saw Miwa walking some meters in front, he jogged to catch up with her and stood by her side, slightly scaring her by the sudden appearance.
Miwa: "O-oh, (y/n)-san. You scared me."
(y/n): "S-sorry."
Miwa: "It's fine... By the way, s-sorry for- You know, earlier?"
(y/n) slightly blushed, remembering what had just happened hours earlier.
(y/n): "It's- ok... I didn't know you were a Pervert deity"
Miwa: "H-hey!"
Both of them were now blushing and looking away from each other.
(y/n): "S-say, Miwa-sama, do you have any hobbies?"
Miwa: "Hobbies?... Hm... It would be saving money? If that counts."
(y/n): "It does I guess. Why would you be saving money for? Buying something?"
Miwa: "Oh, none of that. I have two younger brothers to take care of, and we don't have enough money to live a normal life so..."
(y/n): "O-oh... I could give you mine."
Miwa: "R-really? But you don't have to."
(y/n): "I don't use it anyways, it's just laying there. Somewhere in my room."
Yes, Jujutsu students get paid as professional sorcerers do, it depends on their rank, and grade of curse they are exorcising. Miwa's a grade 3 sorcerer, and (y/n) isn't an official sorcerer, since he doesn't have a rank, but he would sometimes get a payment after a mission. Not because they felt pity for him, but as a way to trick other students into believing that he also gets paid.
Miwa: "T-thank you."

Luke is his middle name actually but it's what everyone calls him. That's the sort of place he lives - A place where a legend is required when war comes beckoning at their doors... Now on Royal Road! This is a series of short stories that take place in the world of the UnderCurrent. A world where 'plot-armour' is usually something the enemy have & where the machine you pilot may very well decide a battle before it ever begins.---- Now available on Royal-Road!For my review of 'Zeta Gundam' I wrote a short story detailing what the lives of the poor everyday background pilots must be like - In a war predicated on the fact that one man said another's name; "Sounds like a girl's name" - Leading to the deaths of 1000s. Since then I've begun writing an original novel, carrying over the characters from here, called 'UnderCurrent'.These stories can be read without knowledge of UnderCurrent and likewise it can be read without knowledge of this.Optimally however it may benefit you to read UnderCurrent to have complete context, the following are some words that may not always be in all of the stories should you choose to skip from tale to tale;Vijaik - A blanket term for mechs made of regular metals. They come in a variety of designs.Casnel - Specifically refers to any mech made of the rare metal 'Goibniu'. They are exceptionally advanced and powerful machines.Bhaile and Abhaile - The planets of UnderCurrent's people.IAFS - 'Independent Alliance of Free States', a rebel faction backed by private corporations, seeking change for the solar-system.TSU - 'The States Union', ruling body of all controlled space, known for often-times being callous and extreme in method.Remembrance - A somewhat 'wild-card' faction made up of former rebellion survivors operating from the 'Remembrance' continent. ----Thanks for reading😊👍.
