"Go run after him until you still can."
_____
And he runs. Runs all the way through many streets, stopped counting after fifth.
It wasn't supposed to end this way.
They deserved a whole life together, and another one after that, just for themselves.
They deserved sunset walks on the beach while holding the other's hand.
They deserved those cheesy roses and chocolates for valentines days.
They deserved to travel every corner of the world until they grow old together.
The kisses, the cuddles, the sweet words and promises of endless love.
All of that.
It wasn't supposed to end this way. It couldn't.
Taehyung runs until he finally reaches the building and continues all the way up the stairs, ignoring the elevator. It would take too long and he has no more time to waste.
Yes, he knocks on the door much louder than he should but he couldn't care less about the hotel hosts around.
"Taehyung?"
He finally opens the door.
Jeongguk's sleepy eyes turn wide when he sees Taehyung right there, in front of his door. He must have gone crazy.
"I ran all the way here," he blurts out, completely forgetting the words he planned to say once he'd be standing at this door.
"That is a very Jeongguk thing," the younger chuckles, eyes fondly staring at Taehyung's messy hair while shaking his head in disbelief.
"I've been thinking. I know we may not be ready now. But I don't want to stop loving you, ever," he shutters between sharp breaths.
He said it.
It's quiet, only the sound of Taehyung's inhaling is heard and Jeongguk doesn't say a thing either. Only searches Taehyung's eyes for something he's been wanting to see for so long.
And there it is.
Just like everyone says, eyes are the keys to people's heart. And he can see it in them. Love and hope.
The sincerity that couldn't be delivered.
"I never stopped loving you, Taehyung."
_______
A simple kiss is all that was needed to fix everything Taehyung thought could never be fixed again. As Jeongguk's lips, soft just like he remembers, brush over his, he feels his heart coming back to pieces.

When he thought he could never be happy again, Jeongguk showed him there still is hope for them. Hope for the happy ending they deserve.
Their lips connected after what felt like years when Taehyung threw himself on Jeongguk. It didn't just feel like it, it really has been years and if anyone ever wondered if their love grew weaker during the time apart, they would be strongly mistaken. The connection between them seems like they were never apart in the first place and they both need to remind themselves it's really that boy they're kissing.
After so long, this is the perfect fit, the pair of lips they used to know and still remember so well. It's like they never left each other's arms yet they long for more, much more.
From the first moment they kissed, Jeongguk took a step backwards and kicked the door closed with his feet. He pushes Taehyung against it and cages his body between his arms even though there's no way he'd try to run. They're done with running.
Their lips dance in perfect sync and Taehyung is way too intoxicated with the taste of Jeongguk. His Jeongguk.
Allowing his hands to explore what they've been waiting for so long to explore, one makes its way to Jeongguk's long hair, pulling at the locks gently. The other creeps under his t-shirt, the warm skin almost burning under Taehyung's soft fingertips. He can't help but lead the hand higher, all the way to his chest, feeling the muscles flexing under his touch.
"You have been working out," he lets out breathlessly, eyes opening to see the smirk playing on Jeongguk's lips as he guides Taehyung's hand all over his stomach.
"I knew you'd like it," he chuckles and lets his tongue nibble on the older's sensitive neck.
"I love you with a belly or a six pack, both are hot as fuck on you," Taehyung speaks through Jeongguk's kisses on his skin but lets out a moan when he sucks softly.
"You are gonna be the death of me, Gguk."
"No," he lifts his head to look deeply into Taehyung's eyes.
"I am letting you live."

Taehyung's shirt is off in no time and when Jeongguk's hands grip the back of his thighs, he jumps up and wraps his legs around Jeongguk's waist by reflex. He enjoys how good Jeongguk smells while nuzzling his nose in the crook of his neck as he's being carefully carried by him.
Jeongguk carries his boy all the way to the hotel's bedroom, giggling along the way when he almost slips on paper sheets on the floor.
Gently laying him on bed, he crawls on top of him and stares at how nicely splayed his body is under him.
"I hope whoever got to experience this sight aside from me told you how beautiful you are, Kim Taehyung," he whispers softly, placing a loving kiss on his exposed forehead.
He shakes his head like an innocent baby.
"No one did."
"I don't deserve to even look at you."
"You will, once you take this damn shirt off," Taehyung says and already pulls at the hem of Jeongguk's t-shirt.
Sitting on the bed right next to the older, Jeongguk enjoys Taehyung's eyes on him as he pulls the clothing over his head, teasingly slow.
"Come on, hyung, this is like thousandth time you see me naked and you are still blushing," Jeongguk laughs at the evident redness on the other's cheeks.
Taehyung's eyes focus on the skin just where Jeongguk's heart is.
"I didn't know you got a tattoo."
"It's been quite some time," he explains, watching Taehyung's fingers trace the dark ink.
"You are the first one to see it."
"Is it the night sky?"
"Yes, do you like it?"
"Yes, I am just...I always knew tattoos would look good on you," he mumbles, eyes still fully studying the tattoo while Jeongguk looses himself in Taehyung's eyes.
"You got even more beautiful, Taehyung. I will do anything to make you happy again, if you let me..." he looks down at him, hand caressing his cheek, eyes questioning.
"I am happy when I am with you."
"If you still love me, I won't let you leave ever again."
"I'll never stop loving you, Jeongguk. I tried, but I can't."
"I don't want you to stop," and with that, he kisses the older's cheek and helps him take the rest of his clothes off along with his own.
He lets Taehyung stare at him for a few seconds before taking his hands and intertwining them with his own just above Taehyung's head.
They continue with the soft kisses being placed all over their bodies, letting each other explore the so-well-known skin and curves. Lost in each other's eyes, Taehyung feels like the years apart never happened, like it's been just yesterday when he had Jeongguk in his arms anytime he asked. He's still the same Jeongguk from before, his Jeongguk, yet he still notices the slight changes but he loves them nonetheless. He feels himself falling for this Jeongguk even more than before.
"Are you sure about this?" he asks and Taehyung is more than just convinced about his answer.
"As long as it's you."
The younger smiles widely at his remark. That alone was enough to convince him. He kisses his lips again, eventually moving down to his neck. The older male lets out a familiar moan, it's been so long since he was gifted with such an angelic sound.
"I want to see you," Taehyung lets out between deep breaths and Jeongguk listens to him, looking straight into his favourite pair of brown eyes in this world, Taehyung's.
"Come on, Jeongguk," the older moan, hands trying to free from the other's grip due to the endless teasing.
The moment Jeongguk enters Taehyung and their bodies and souls connect into one after four years, they swear by the look in the other's eyes that nothing is ever going to come between them again.
This moment is shared just between the two, filled with nothing but adoration and endless love they have for each other, the one people read about in books.
And they both know it, both feel it, they're never going to let the other leave again. In this life and in the one that comes after this, they are never going to be separated again.
