3 days later...

[💫]

"Are you sure she won't mind?"

"Jiae? No, she's out with her friends."

Taehyung nods and follows the younger inside his car. He couldn't help but admire Jeongguk for the whole ride to his apartment, he looked so mature while focused on driving. He's seen him driving for the first time today since he got his license only a few months ago.

"Here it is," the two of them stop in front of the door on the third floor after getting out of Jeongguk's car.

"Welcome, make yourself at home," Jeongguk announces cheerfully as he steps inside the apartment which screams with modern style.

Taking their shoes off, Jeongguk hangs up their coats and walks inside the kitchen connected to a living room with white furniture, definitely not in Jeongguk's style.

"Do you want a coffee, tea, wine?" Jeongguk calls on Taehyung who was seated on the couch.

"I'll have wine, if that's okay," he says shyly, shifting at his place and feeling extremely uncomfortable to be sitting in the apartment where Jeongguk lives with his future wife. A place where they fall asleep and wake up next to each other, just like the two of them used to.

"Sure," Jeongguk nods and gets lost inside the kitchen, a glass jingling sounding around.

In a few seconds, Taehyung watches Jeongguk rushing to sit on the couch opposite him with two glasses in one and a bottle of wine in the second hand.

"Are you sure it's okay for me to be here? I don't want to mess up things between you and-"

"Seriously, hyung, it's fine," Jeongguk reassures the older and finishes pouring the wine, handing one glass to Taehyung.

"We're just two bandmates hanging out," he says and clings glasses with Taehyung.

"Yeah, you are right..." Taehyung mumbles and sips the wine with his head held down.

"You have changed a lot," Jeongguk says after drowning half of the glass, licking his lips and looking at the man in front of him.

Taehyung gulps.

Seeing Jeongguk in front of him in his full glory after so long, the unbuttoned shirt exposing his neck and all the way to his collarbones. His perfect jawline, long dark wavy hair covering his doe eyes, and his full cherry lips...Jeon Jeongguk was too beautiful to be real.

"You too, Gguk. You got more mature," Taehyung says simply.

"Thanks," he smiles.

"I am not angry at you for what you did," Jeongguk speaks up after a while of silence.

"I know you're still blaming yourself for it," he ads, seeing Taehyung's confused face.

"You have all rights to be," Taehyung says with a little voice, guilt creeping up his chest again.

Jeongguk just watches him for a few seconds, studying the emotions hidden behind Taehyung's eyes.

"Maybe...But I am not."

Instead of reacting, Taehyung just sips on his wine, hoping for the sweetness of alcohol to give him more courage. He was finally getting through this moment until he heard Jeongguk's soft lips letting out another question.

"Did you miss me?"

His voice is angelic, same as his starry eyes which are watching Taehyung as he lifts his head up to look at the younger.

"Because I still miss you, even though you're right in front of me," Jeongguk's face is showing nothing but sincerity, looking almost hurt because of how vulnerable his big examining eyes and parted lips are.

"Me too, Ggukie. I never stopped," he confesses, his words hiding much more which was left unsaid.

Taehyung knew Jeongguk, he knew him too well, same as this side of him. He always used to be too sincere and speaking from the bottom of his heart after a single glass of wine.

That's how he knew it was his time to leave. Fast, before he does something they'll both regret.

"I should go, Jimin will be worried," Taehyung speaks fast and grabs the two empty glasses from the table as he rushes to the kitchen to clean them.

"It's fine, Tae. You really don't have to," Jeongguk talks from behind Tae after following him into the kitchen, seeing him already washing the glasses.

"Yes, I do...I should have been there," Taehyung's voice get's harsher and suddenly the words spoken between them got a completely different meaning. And they both knew what exactly they meant.

There's silence for a while, only a sound of running water could be heard and Taehyung didn't dare to turn around and see Jeongguk's expression. Until he heard his broken voice from behind.

"It should have been you."

Taehyung slowly turns around, seeing the love of his life standing only two steps away from him, a single tear running down the cheek of the one he loved the most.

"It will always be you," Taehyung whispers, eyes never leaving Jeongguk's as his vision was slowly getting blurry from all the tears.

The two-step distance is closed in one step by each of them. And after what feels like not one but many lifetimes, after all this time, Taehyung's and Jeongguk's lips connect again, same as their hearts.

💫

...like falling stars we collide.

And they both swear that no matter how many people would tell them how unbelievably wrong this was...to them, nothing ever felt more right.
