The same day...

Taehyung's phone

Next morning...

Jungkook's phone

Jeongguk felt very nostalgic as he ran up the stairs and stopped in front of the door of the old apartment. A place where he spent 2 the most beautiful years of his life along with the worst day of his life.

Taking a deep breath, he unlocked the door to the apartment where him and Taehyung used to live. Together.

Closing the door behind himself, time seems to pass much slower as he quietly walks over the place to the living room, seeing the huge wardrobe.

But he couldn't get a hold of the thing he came here for as a soft voice was heard from behind him.

"Gguk?"

He gulps, nervously turning around in a slow motion. When he finally lifts his gaze up, he's met with a sight of Taehyung standing not more than only a few steps in front of him, body wrapped in a robe which once used to be Jeongguk's. A long time ago.

"Tae?" his voice gave up as it came out much weaker than he wanted. He wasn't ready to act now.

"I am just looking for my suitcase," he explains but doesn't turn around to finish what he started, only keeps staring at Taehyung.

"Okay..." the older mumbles, hands awkwardly hanging by his sides as he continues watching Jeongguk.

He couldn't not notice how much the younger has grown. He was only 24 but he had already fully grown into his features. His hair grew longer and was now dyed in a beautiful shade of cherry pink. His jawline was sharper, body more muscular but his whole appearance seemed different. Maybe it was the fact that he got a lot skinnier.

Or maybe the fact which he hated and that was how his eyes looked different. As if they weren't even Jeongguk's. Definitely not the Jeongguk's he once used to call his. The sparkles which once used to reflect in his eyes were now gone as they stared back into Taehyung's empty ones. The boy in front of him lost his light and it hurt to know that it was his fault.

"Do you still...you know, live here?" he asks once he finally finds what he's been looking for even though he already knows the answer.

"No," Taehyung answers softly, watching as Jeongguk's curious eyes carefully wander around the apartment.

Jimin was right when he said Taehyung left it the way it was. It seemed almost untouched. As if the time never passed here. As if they were back to the times when they were both still happy, together.

"I came here just to be alone for a while. I am coming back to the dorm today," Taehyung says, already knowing what Jeongguk's next question would be.

"Okay...I will be going now," the younger mumbles, awkwardly walking past Taehyung with his head held down.

"Jeongguk. Are you gonna come back to us?" he stops him in his tracks, watching him looking down at his feet.

"I don't know..."

He starts to walk again.

It was much harder to pretend now that they were alone in a closed space.

As Jeongguk turns around he's surprised to see the older boy silently followed him over to the door.

He doesn't even realise as his mouth speaks on it's own and asks what he's been scared to ask.

"Are you okay?"

Something switches inside the older's eyes for a second, something like a false hope but it disappears as fast as it came.

"Yeah," he says calmly.

"Good," Jeongguk nods and closes the door behind him, leaving Taehyung alone in the apartment just like he did more than a year ago.
