《Actions Speak Louder Than Fortune Cookies》106 - Outer Space

The rest of the week passed simply, and Sunday rolled in smoothly. Rylee spent her time doing her usual routine as the time flew by. Work, the gym, out to Round Corner Cafe, talking with Sebastian whenever she could, visiting with Alexa, who returned a few days ago.

Rylee was on FaceTime with Sebastian during his lunch break, and it was still so weird to see him looking like Tommy Lee in his spare time. Riddled with tattoos, piercings, and that long black hair and soul patch. It was everything Sebastian normally wasn't, so FaceTime was always so strange.

"So... what's on your mind?" Sebastian said through a mouth full of whatever catered food he had snatched up before he went off to his trailer to hang out on the phone with her.

"Hmm?" Rylee asked, not quite hearing his question as she was lost in her thoughts.

"What's got you in outer space?"

"Well...I'm supposed to be seeing Justin again tomorrow."

Sebastian waited for her to continue patiently.

"He asked if we had a wedding date in mind, and I mentioned that we were waiting to talk about it."

"Mhmm." Sebastian agreed, still listening carefully as he ate.

"But then he asked if I was just afraid to talk about wedding stuff because 'something good is happening to me and I don't want it to get screwed up.'"

"Do you agree?" Sebastian asked curiously, holding his fork still for a moment, food still speared on it.

"Mm. Honestly, yes? Maybe.."

"Ry."

"I don't know. Over time, Justin's helped me come to terms with the fact that a large chunk of my life was controlled by someone else and I felt like I deserved it. And I know we've been together over a year, but it's not something I can just forget you know? I lived it a long time."

Sebastian nodded in understanding.

"I mean like..if we could, god, I'd get married to you like, yesterday, but I figured it didn't make sense to talk about it over the phone. But then Justin basically said why not...and made us talking about it my homework."

"Oh, I get to be your homework..does that mean you're gonna do me?" Sebastian said with a stupid smirk, trying to lighten the conversation.

"Oh my god. Never mind. What wedding?" Rylee joked.

"Seriously though, we can talk about it...I know the phone isn't exactly the best, but god, I would absolutely be married to you like yesterday too."

Rylees cheeks flushed at his comment, "Alright. Well. Where to start."

"Well how about we start out simple. Do you wanna do a big or small wedding?" Sebastian asked curiously, still taking bites of his lunch.

Rylee thought about it for half a second before she said "Small. For sure. Like...really small."

"Totally on the same page. I'm so okay with it being really small."

"When do we want to have it?" Rylee asked in return.

Sebastian and Rylee thought about it together out loud, bouncing ideas off one another.

"I think fall weddings are always nice. It's cooler out, not winter cold or summer hot."

Rylee nodded in agreement, "I like fall. Especially around here, the leaves are always so beautiful that time of year."

"Sounds like we've already got the ball rolling...so like what? Maybe late September, early October? Gives us time to get it set up, but still happens soon."

Rylee nodded, "Sounds like a good goal." Rylees smile widened as they spoke and she wrote down different tidbits . She was getting excited talking about it, and it had only been a few minutes.

Rylee looked up from her notepad to see Sebastian staring at her, smile full of love shining at her.

"What?" Rylee asked as she smirked.

"You just look so happy."

"I am. I really really am. I miss you like hell, but I'm happy."

"I miss you too. And for the record I'm extremely happy too...except with these fake piercings. If I ever get drunk enough to think I want nipple piercings, just...I dunno...throw me in the trunk or something," Sebastian laughed heartily.

Rylee laughed and they continued their conversation for another twenty minutes before Sebastian had to get back to work. They parted from their call with love filled goodbyes and Rylee continued thinking of things she would like to focus on for the wedding.

Before she realized it, she had spent another half an hour writing down different things she thought she'd like at or for their wedding. The only reason she stopped writing was because her phone rang, Alexa's face filled the screen.

Rylee tapped accept and put it on speaker. "Hey, what's up?"

"Nothing, just got back from helping my parents. But I'm bored as hellllll." Alexa sighed into the phone.

Rylee could hear extra noises in the background of their call, but she couldn't quite place them, "Are you on the subway?"

"Um. Yes."

"Are you already on your way here?"

"Um. Yes."

Rylee laughed and asked sarcastically, "Hey Lex, you wanna come over and hang out?"

"Oh my gosh yeah, that'd be great. Thanks! ...Bitch." Alexa practically cackled sarcastically back in return, "I'm almost at your stop. Be there in five, byeeee."

"Bye Lex," Rylee said with a chuckle as she hit end.

Alexa came bounding through the door, flourishing two wine bottles in hand, "Ta daaaa!"

"I'll allow it," Rylee commented as she plucked a bottle from Alexa's hand. She led the way to the kitchen and handed Alexa a bottle opener as she undid the one in her hand as well. They didn't waste time pretending that they wouldn't clear out a bottle on their own.

They both collapsed together onto the couch with their bottles. They chatted as they drank hefty sips, talking about basically everything and nothing all at once.

At one point the girls sat in a comfortable silence, scrolling through their phones when Alexa almost choked on her drink.

"Good God Almighty. Rylee Ann."

Rylee looked up from her own phone to see Alexa holding out her phone for her to see, her mouth falling agape as soon as she began reading.

Y'all, I'm about to cry. Last week, Sebastian Stan, of Marvel fame traveled out to Los Angeles to begin filming his new Hulu mini series, Pam and Tommy, all about the infamous, scandalous, sex tape that includes Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee.

That tape was definitely a scandal, but you know what else is? Sebastian Stan's fiancé, Rylee Summers, getting close and cuddly with Marvel's Spider-Man actor, Tom Holland outside a quiet New York cafe while the main squeezes are out of town.

Tom Holland is currently dating actress, Zendaya. This intimate moment could not only ruin one set of lives, but now two. We hope it was just some innocent hug, but anonymous sources outside the cafe have said that it looked pretty intimate.

Why does this keep happening? The Stan/Summers relationship has got to be on the rocks after the steady news that has unraveled itself over the last month.

We hope they're doing well and that wedding bells are still in the air, but yikes. We don't know!

"E!News will grab at any straws they can for a story. God forbid you hug a friend of the opposite sex in public. You've got to be fucking them right? Ugh."

Rylee leaned further back into the couch, head thrown all the way back as she tossed Alexa's phone back to her, which she fumbled with tipsy hands for a moment before fully catching it.

Rylee took a big swig from her bottle of wine, and rolled her head over to look at Alexa.

"I don't understand paparazzi. Like. Not everything is some scandal yah know? Life can just be boring as hell and not need extra drama sprinkled in." Rylee took another drink of wine, shaking her head. "It's always this Jocelyn person too. I don't know what I'd do if I ever met that woman."

"I'll give 'er one of these and one of these." Alexa said as she lifted one fist and then her bottle in her other hand.

Rylee laughed at that, but simply sighed after. "Sebastian's a saint for always dealing with paparazzi crap."

Rylees phone buzzed on the table, a text ringing through.

😍

Hey, you okay? Anthony just sent me that Tom article.

"Speaking of the saint himself..." Rylee said as she replied.

❤️

I'm good. Annoyed. But good.

😍

Okay

I love you

I just wanted to check in.

I'll call you later when I'm off set

❤️

Thanks ❤️

I love you, sounds good.

"God I love him." Rylee sighed as she set her phone down again.

Rylee and Alexa continued chatting and drinking through the rest of the evening, ordering dinner and enjoying each other's company. Rylee was happy to be able to relax and spend her evening like this.

The next day, all Rylee had on the agenda for the day was seeing Justin so when 11:00 AM rolled around, she was walking into his office and checking in with reception.

A few minutes later she was led back to his office and was stuck waiting patiently for him to arrive, which luckily was not long.

"Gooood morning, Rylee."

"Morning Justin," Rylee replied.

"So, how's it going. It's been a week, a lot can happen."

"Not too bad. But you're right, a lot can definitely happen in a week though.

"Well, let's dive right in then yeah?" Justin said as he grabbed his notebook and pen.

They talked for an hour about Sebastian, and his job, and the different ways to adjust to his constantly changing schedule. They also discussed the idea of paparazzi and what she can do to avoid being the next days news headline.

"Honestly, in my opinion, you just be super boring. Go through your normal day. If you want to hang out with Tom in public you're allowed to. He's your friend. Everyone will always try to flip the script and make you look like a bad guy. That's how news works.

"Why do you think it's always stories about tornadoes, and fires, and deaths on the news? Cause that's what grabs peoples attention. Sure people occasionally want to hear about a puppy that got saved. But the man who fell off a roof and needed life flighted? Or the 90 year old widows house collapsing? That gets hits."

"That....is extremely morbid." Rylee stated out loud.

"But am I wrong?" Justin asked, shrugging his shoulders, his hands out.

"No...I guess that's what makes it morbid."

"Exactly, so just love your life. Enjoy it. Sebastian loves you. I've never even met the guy, but from what you tell me, he'd go to the ends of the Earth for you. He knows you. He loves you. He trusts you."

"As long as the people that are important know the truth, who gives a rats ass."

"So defensive, Justin." Rylee chuckled at his proud stance.

"I just speak the truth...but anyway we only have a few more minutes. I wanted to ask about your homework."

Rylee smiled at that, almost excited.

"I see it went well."

Rylee nodded, "I told him what you said about me being afraid of ruining a good thing, and we talked about it for a bit. It was a good conversation. Then we talked wedding for a while.

"We both agreed we basically wish we were already married. But that when we do have our wedding we'd like it to be small, probably in the fall."

"Why wait til fall?"

Rylee cocked her head confused.

"You both wish you were already married. And you want the wedding small. Why not just do something small now. Maybe someone's backyard. Or a rooftop or something. Not trying to step on toes or anything. Just thinking out loud."

Rylee hadn't thought about it really. She just thought about how all other weddings go. They take a bit, planned out months ahead of time, but why? If we both want to be married why don't we just do it?

"Why are you always right?"

"That, I cannot answer." Justin laughed. "Just, think about it, if you're comfortable with the thought, run it by Sebastian. I'm not making it homework. Just an idea is all."

"Our time is somehow already up," Justin said, standing up from his chair, "but I'll see you next week?" He crossed the room offering out a hug that Rylee returned.

"Yep, thanks Justin."

"Of course..." he said following her out the office door to reception. He went into another room behind the reception desk as Rylee filled out a form they had for her. It took her a few minutes but when she finished she said her goodbyes and headed for the exit.

She stood outside for a moment, texting Sebastian. She figured he was just getting done with makeup and wardrobe at that point in his day.

She turned around to head to the subway and ran straight into a man, almost falling back, but avoiding it when he grasped her arms, keeping her steady.

"Rylee, I am so sorry, are you okay?"

She looked up to see that it was Justin, she was surprised to see him outside.

As she stood up straight and regained her balance, she joked, "Wait, they let you out of that building?"

"Surprisingly they loosen the chain every now and then. Are you okay though?"

"Yeah, are you?"

"I'm good. I'd stay and chat but I've gotta go pick up Sophia and Joann." He said pointing his thumb over his shoulder towards his car.

"Tell Joann I said hello! Have a good one, see you next week."

"Will do, you do the same Rylee." Justin said as he walked around to the other side of his car to climb inside.

Rylee took her phone back out and continued down the street toward the subway terminal.
