《Actions Speak Louder Than Fortune Cookies》100 - Don't Fret

Faster than they could blink, they were at the airport, climbing into the private jet, ready to head back home.
Once they were in the air and on their way, Rylee and Sebastian collapsed together on the couch in the middle of the plane. Sebastian laid with his head in Rylee's lap, and her hands drifted into his hair. He closed his eyes, her hands feeling like magic.
"Your hairs getting long, boy," Rylee joked as she ran her hands through his hair steadily.
"Yeah, blame Tommy Lee for that. You're not gonna like me in a week or two..."
"Oh god, why..." Rylee's hands froze for a moment.
"Well, I've got to go in next week and get my hair dyed black..." Sebastian mentioned, eyes still closed.
"That's not bad. Your hairs not that far off," hands starting back through his hair again.
"And...I've got to change my facial hair."
"I can't think of what Tommy Lee's facial hair looked like...what, did he have some pornstache? Oh god. Tell me he didnt have a pornstache."
Sebastian laughed heartily, "No, thank god. He didn't. He, uh, did have a soul patch though."
Rylee's hand stopped again and disappeared from Sebastian's hair. Sebastian opened his eyes to see Rylee had put both her hands on her cheeks, "Oh no! Noooo!"
Rylee laughed but looked horrified all at once.
"It'll only be a few months, you won't have to suffer long." Sebastian chuckled.
"Who do I have to fight?" Rylee joked.
"I'd honestly say Tommy Lee, but just as long as it's not me again." Sebastian joked in return.
Rylee slapped his shoulder, laughing.
They continued chatting for a bit, eventually turning on a movie just for them both to promptly fall asleep on one another for a majority of the flight.
——————————
With a time change and a ten hour flight, it was about 5:30 pm when they were landing at LaGuardia, jet lagged and exhausted, but happy to be home.
Sebastian was surprised, when they walked off the plane, that Chris and Alexa were waiting for them with Sebastian's car on the tarmac.
"Ayyy! Welcome back!" Chris said, extending out his arms for a hug with both Sebastian and Rylee.
Alexa stood back for a moment after she snagged a hug from Sebastian, just looking at Rylee, and Rylee did the same in return, before they both let out a high pitched squeal and hugged each other tightly.
Both boys jumped in surprise at the interaction, immediately laughing after.
"Good God, y'all." Chris laughed.
Alexa immediately grabbed Rylee's left hand to look at her ring and couldn't even say anything she hadn't already said over the phone, she just pulled her in for another hug.
They all laughed and headed for the car, the boys grabbing the luggage. Chris offered to drive them all back to Sebastian and Rylee's place.
"I'm not gonna lie, I'm surprised you're in town, Chris." Sebastian commented as they climbed in the car.
"I've been doing press for Lightyear and just so happened to end up in New York for the last two weeks..have another week or so..then I head back to LA."
"Conveniently enough, I'll be heading to LA in a week or two."
Rylee scooted to the middle seat so she could lean her head on Sebastian's shoulder, feeling the weight of how tired she actually was finally hitting her.
"Oh yeah, that Tommy Lee thing right? How longs that one supposed to take?"

"A couple months." Sebastian replied, placing his hand on Rylee's thigh as she looped her arm within his, cuddling in close.
"So that's why your hairs," Chris gestured wildly around his own head, looking in the rear view mirror at Sebastian with a laugh filled smile.
"Just wait til you get to see this bad boy," Sebastian responded rubbing his open hand around his now scruffy face.
Chris let out that genuine Chris laugh as he continued driving down the highway.
——————————
About half an hour later they were back and settled, already delving through the take out they had ordered from the Chinese place down the street on their way home.
They all found a seat at the bar in the kitchen, enjoying their meals together, and talking about what's been happening and catching up since they all hadn't seen each other in a few weeks.
It was nice to enjoy some Italian delicacies while they were away, but Rylee definitely missed her chicken with broccoli. At this point in her life, she considered it a comfort food.
After she worked halfway through her meal, she'd gotten pretty full but still had to open her fortune cookie. It was the part she never skipped. She had, at some point, become a bit superstitious about it.
She cracked hers open and pulled the slip of paper out carefully, turning it over to read it.
Don't fret about your next big event, it will be everything you want it to be and more.
"Well that's specific," Rylee chuckled as she read her fortune aloud to the group.
"I'll say, let me see that." Alexa took the slip from Rylee's hand, examining it as if it was fake, "Huh."
She passed it back to Rylee and she reread it again, a soft smile crossing her lips.
Sebastian looked up at her, halfway through chewing his food, but just gave her a goofy smile in return.
Sebastian and Rylee were both surprised by their second wind once they had gotten home. They were both wide awake and ready for the evening when Rylee decided to go into the kitchen and open a bottle of wine.
Sebastian and Chris decided to stick with the Heinekens Sebastian had in the fridge and let the girls clear out the wine themselves.
"Why haven't we extended this evening to more people?" Sebastian asked aloud to everyone.
Everyone shrugged but encouraged Sebastian to expand the group. The more the merrier.
He ended up texting a handful of people he knew were in New York this week, and was surprised to receive confirmations from almost all of them, saying they would swing by soon.
Over the next hour or so, multiple people walked through the door, Sebastian started to lose track. Don Saladino, Elizabeth Olsen, Letitia Wright, Paul Walter Hauser, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Tom Holland, Lily James, and...and...and... how many people said yes they'd come? He had lost track after this fifth drink...fifth? He thought it was number 5 anyway.
Rylee had also texted a handful of people, but most were simply friends from work. She had lived in New York for a few years now but she honestly hadn't really made many friends, and nights like tonight made her really notice that. She tried not to fret about it, but it buzzed in the back of her mind as she downed her third glass of wine.
Sebastian and Rylee's apartment was filled to the brim with people and so much love, they hadn't realized it until the first half dozen or so people had come but the night had ended up turning into an engagement celebration party of sorts.

Almost everyone that came didn't come empty handed. Most brought wine, champagne, or other drinks, while some even brought various foods to add to the hastily thrown together buffet of a table.
Everyone was having a blast and enjoying one another's company, many having not seen each other since the Last Mission had premiered a month or so ago.
After a bit, Sebastian, Chris, and a few others popped out onto the balcony to cool off from the overheated apartment.
Rylee had scanned over the room to see who all was still nearby and basically everyone in the room was someone Sebastian had invited. She loved them all and was extremely happy that she could comfortably call the Marvel family her own, but why did she still feel so alone? Her friends from work had come and were all mingling about, but this had really put into perspective how few friends she had made picking up and moving to New York.
Rylee had made her way to the bathroom and pushed herself up to sit on the bathroom sink, wine glass still in her hand. She had lost track of how many drinks had been poured into it. Anytime it ran close to empty, someone always filled her cup back up.
She swished the glass in her hand a bit carelessly, a bit of red wine splashing out onto the tile below her. She huffed out a sigh.
You're not going to be sad today. You just got back from an amazing vacation with your now fiancé. You know all these people. You love them all. They love you in return. Stop being so negative.
Before she even realized she hadn't locked the door, someone was barging in.
She almost had to laugh when she saw Tom Holland strut in, and immediately slapped his hands over his eyes, "Oh my fucking god, I am SO sorry. I didn't knock I just busted right in an-"
"Tommy. It's fine. All decent here," Rylee spoke as she flourished her hand up and down to emphasize that she did indeed not only have her clothes on, but she was sitting on the sink, not the toilet.
"Ugh, thank god. I know you never would've let me live that down if you would've bee- Wait. Are you okay?" Tom took a couple steps closer and shut the door behind him, locking it for privacy, just in case.
"Yeah, why?" Rylee asked.
"Oh, I dunno maybe the tears still streaming down your face as you said you were 'okay'". Tom pushed himself up to sit on the large sink counter next to Rylee, waiting for her to talk to him.
Rylee rubbed her cheeks and low and behold there were tears collected on her hand, "huh, Rylee practically laughed, "I hadn't even noticed."
Tom looked at her seriously now, at least as seriously as Tom could, "What's wrong. How can I help?"
"It's all just stupid, not even worth fussing over," Rylee started to say, waving her glass of wine nonchalantly.
"It can't be that stupid if it has you this upset," Tom commented in return.
Rylee took a moment to decide if she felt like diving into this right now but she was how many drinks deep at this point? Who cares.
"Well we obviously decided last minute to have this get together, but it just made me realize how few friends I have in the city."
"Pfft. Am I not your friend?" Tom said, putting his hand on his chest acting offended.
Rylee rolled her eyes with a huff of a laugh but it made her a little dizzy, "Of course you are Tommy."
"See, that's how I know we're friends..."
Rylee looked at him confused.
"You're literally the only person I let call me 'Tommy' besides my Grandmum." He laughed lightly.
Rylee chuckled in return, she hadn't realized she was the only one who called him that, "You're just such a teeny person...Tom sounds so..." Rylee dipped into a deep mocking tone "'Hello...I'm a business man named Tom. Let me business here.'" She went back to her own voice, "Uh no, you're my Tommy."
He elbowed her with a laugh, "I'm not that much younger than you."
"Boy, you were born...brought unto this earth...didn't start existing...until 1996. 19-9-6, Tommy. I was born in the 80s. I'm practically your grandmum."
They both laughed, the sadness seeming to slip away for a moment.
"But honestly though, everyone out there adores you. If they didn't, they wouldn't be here. Here..let me see your phone." Tom said sticking out his hand.
Rylee reached into her pocket and pulled it out almost haphazardly, passing it off to Tom.
He looked at her and rolled his eyes, "what's your password?"
"0813." Rylee replied back easily.
"See, exhibit A...you just openly gave me your password, obviously, we're friends...but side note. Sebastian's birthday as your password?"
Rylee hid behind her glass, almost embarrassed by this now revealed fact.
"Thats cute as fuck, you lovebird jerks." Tom laughed as he continued on, typing in her code and going to her contact list. He scrolled through quickly, occasionally "mhmming" and "ahhhing".
"Exhibit B...all except for like...two people out there...you have their phone numbers in here...I've worked with Paul Rudd and I don't even have his number." He chuckled as he handed her phone back.
"You have a lot more friends than you think." Tom said, elbowing her gently in the side again.
Rylee reflected on what he had said, as much as she could with as drunk as she was anyway. He was right. Just because she didn't call these people every day or know their grandmothers first names, doesn't make them nothing to her.
"Thanks, Tommy." Rylee said quietly her realization settling in.
"No problem, Ry. Now. Let's get back out to your friends and get piss drunk, shall we?"
Rylee laughed as Tom had hopped off the counter and offered her a hand down. She took it easily and they headed out the door and down the hall, meeting back up with the friends that awaited in the living room.
Over the next few hours Tom seemed to hang closer to Rylee's side, making sure she was okay. He hoped she knew how much everyone in her apartment truly cared for her.
Sebastian and the small group came back inside about twenty minutes after Tom and Rylee had returned, and Sebastian plopped next to Rylee on the couch, pulling her in close.
She curled in close to him as well, leaning back to sneak a kiss before she brought her wine glass back to her lips. The conversation never ceased. Any way you turned there was something new to hear or talk about.
After talking with Tom, Rylee felt a lot better about the evening and really, fully began to enjoy herself, though the party was slowly beginning to come to an end.
Slowly, the crowd trickled out. Everyone thanked them for the fun, and congratulated them on their engagement, leaving with hugs and see you laters.
Eventually, around 2:00 am, their group was back to just being Sebastian, Rylee, Chris, and Alexa.
Sebastian had lost count of his drinks just as Rylee had.
"Listen. Christopher. You know what we need?"
Chris, about half as drunk as Sebastian, replied, "A nap?"
Sebastian laughed loudly at that, "No...but yes...but no...I was thinking more nights like tonight. It's so nice getting everyone together."
"Truth, man. Even if you're drunk out of your mind."
Sebastian shoved Chris lightly and Rylee laughed at the two of them. "We really do need more nights like tonight."
