Sebastian was practically bouncing in his seat. Him and Rylee were at the doctors office for what he hoped to be his final visit.

He knew he still had multiple physical therapy appointments to get through for not only his leg but his shoulder, but he may get to leave this building without a boot on and that was all that mattered right now. He even brought his left shoe with him just in case.

A nurse came out to the waiting room and summoned him back to the examination rooms. She went through the motions of checking his blood pressure and heart rate and soon enough, Rylee and him were alone in the room.

"Why am I nervous?" Sebastian tried to chuckle.

"I'd say you're allowed to feel some kind of way. You've been in a cast or a boot for the last like, what, five months? I mean, I know you could take the boot off in bed and stuff and you finished your two week weaning protocol, but still. That's a long time."

Sebastian nodded, he hadn't thought of it in terms of months, he had thought of it in terms of all the things happening during that five months. All the things he couldn't experience normally.

The press tour. Thanksgiving. Christmas. Rylee's birthday. Disney. The premiere.

So many big moments, tainted by a cast or a walking boot. Of course all those events still happened and they were still great, but he couldn't help but feel some level of sadness towards it all.

Mid thought, Sebastian's PCP, Dr. Roberts came into the room, holding a folder.

"Hello there Sebastian, Rylee, how are you two today?" Dr. Roberts asked as he sat down on the stool by his computer.

Both Sebastian and Rylee answered "doing good" at the same time. They both looked at each other and scrunched their noses.

"The synchronization..." Dr Roberts laughed, "I've talked with married couples heading towards their 50th anniversary that don't mesh like you two always seem to. It's great to see."

"Anywho, all we've gotta do today is get a new X-ray of your leg, check that out, and we should be good to go. How's your leg been holding up? Feeling okay?" Dr. Roberts stood as he talked, leading Sebastian and Rylee down the hall to the X-ray lab.

"It's been pretty good. No more random pain."

"Good, good. How's PT been?"

"Also pretty good. My buddy Don has been helping me in between visits too which really helps."

"Saladino?"

"Yeah, you know him?"

"Yeah, he's a good guy. He ran around with my brother growing up. Small world." Dr. Roberts commented as he opened the door to the lab, "Morning John, this is Sebastian and his girlfriend Rylee."

The man he was introducing stepped forward and shook both their hands, nodding hellos as well.

"When you're all done, John will bring you guys back up to the room we started in and we'll talk then. See you soon." Dr Roberts said as he left quickly out the door.

"Alrighty," John said, after looking through Sebastian's file, "let's get started so we can burn that boot, yeah?"

"Please." Sebastian laughed.

About half an hour later, Rylee and Sebastian were back in their original exam room, waiting for Dr. Roberts and trying to be patient.

Sebastian got caught up in his own head about it for a moment. "I feel like this is taking forever. Is this taking forever? What if somethings still fucked up? What i-"

"Sebastian," Rylee said sternly, putting her hand on his knee to calm him, "It'll be fine. Roberts is the only doctor on call today. So he's got a lot going on."

Just as Rylee finished her thought, Dr. Roberts knocked on the door and entered, holding X-rays.

"Alrighty Sebastian. Moment of truth. Are you ready?" Dr. Roberts asked.

"As I'll ever be."

"Okay," Dr. Roberts slid the X-rays into the light board and flicked the on switch, causing it to shine brightly in the now shadowed room, "here was your leg before the plate and screws..." he said pointing to the first X-ray. "And here is what you're looking like now."

He pointed to the next X-ray which was strange to witness. The metal pieces in Sebastian's leg shined brightly in the pictures along with his bones, but all of the spots that were crooked or unattached before all look natural and whole now.

"Everything is looking absolutely perfect. So. I'm proud to have the honor of declaring you boot free starting now!"

Sebastian could've cried on the spot, but instead, he held back and simply undid the straps of his boot and lightly kicked it off. He wiggled his toes for a moment and then slid his foot gently into his other On running shoe.

His weaning protocol was spanned over two weeks and every few days he was supposed to go another hour boot free in the morning and afternoon, so he luckily already knew the feeling of how weird it was to switch from his boot to a shoe, but somehow it still felt so strange.

"I've never been so happy to wear running shoes in my life," Sebastian joked, standing up carefully.

Dr. Roberts laughed at his comment and they soon went over last minute instructions for taking care of his leg now that he was boot free.

Don't push it. Don't overextend. Still try to give yourself a break. Wean back into standing for long periods of time.

"Think you can handle all that?" Dr. Roberts chuckled.

"Absolutely," Sebastian stated confidently.

"And Rylee, can you handle Sebastian when he ends up inevitably overdoing it?"

"Absolutely," Rylee laughed heartily while Sebastian pretended to pout. Rylee patted his shoulder reassuringly.

"Alrighty then, you guys are all set! If you have any questions, or something just doesn't seem right don't hesitate at all to call us."

"Sounds great, thanks so much." Sebastian stated, smiling ear to ear.

Dr. Roberts shook both Sebastian and Rylee's hands and parted, telling them to have a good day and that they could see the receptionist out front for discharge information before he disappeared down the hall.

Rylee practically jumped onto Sebastian, pulling him into a tight embrace as he stood up, boot free. Sebastian wrapped one arm around her back while his other hand raked into her hair, pulling her even closer.

After another long moment laced together they separated slightly, enough for Rylee to move her hands and put them on either side of Sebastian's face, pulling him in for a kiss.

"You ready to go?" Rylee asked, excited.

"More than I've ever been in my life." Sebastian responded.

They walked out with their arms linked together. They took their time and though Sebastian still had a small hobble, he was elated.

When they walked out of the doctor's office, Sebastian spotted a few paparazzi across the street, snapping pictures. They both chose to just ignore them and made their way to the car, in which Rylee drove them home.

They decided to stop at Round Corner Cafe for breakfast and Lisa and Ken were elated to see Sebastian boot free.

"Finally!" Ken practically yelled, coming around the counter to hug Sebastian, who couldn't help but laugh at the genuine nature of Ken and his wife.

"Ah, we're so happy for you dear!" Lisa said, snagging a hug right after Ken.

"Thanks you guys, seriously. It's great to be back to something at least close to normal."

The four of them chatted for a few minutes as Ken made their coffees and Lisa prepped their baked goods.

Once it was all finished Sebastian and Rylee grabbed their food and drinks and headed to a booth in the back, their usual.

"So. How's it feel?" Rylee asked offering out her hand on the table.

"Really, really good." Sebastian said, smiling ear to ear, reaching out to take her hand in return.

He rubbed his thumb along the side of her hand, as he always found himself doing.

"So, are you excited for our trip?" Sebastian asked, trying to stop his smile from growing but failing.

"So excited. If only I knew where we were going." She pretended to sigh, resting her chin on her open hand.

Sebastian just laughed, "Soon, love, soon."

They continued chatting about what they would need to do in the next few days before they leave for their trip, eventually finishing their breakfast as they talked.

As they left, waving a hearty goodbye to Lisa and Ken, they headed out onto sidewalk and were slightly surprised to run into a few paparazzi.

"Hey Sebastian! Rylee! How's it going!" One man spoke loudly.

Sebastian decided to humor them on their walk to the car. It was going to take them some time to get there, might as well have fun with it.

"Good, how're you guys today?"

The man almost looked surprised that he got a reply, "Great, great, no more boot?"

"Nah, man, officially out of it as of this morning."

"Oh wow! Congrats! Oh and congrats on the movie! It was great!"

"Thanks, we put a lot of work into that movie."

As they continued walking he held tightly onto Rylee's hand for support. As soon as they had walked outside he could sense she was nervous.

"So Rylee, what've you been up to lately?" The man redirected his attention to Rylee.

"Well, I spent the last month or so out in LA with Seb while they finished their press tour."

"An LA trip though! Sounds like it was a nice vacation!"

"It..was!" Rylee wasn't sure what to say. I mean. The first week of being there was sort of supposed to be a vacation, but the next two weeks, well, I mean they were fun, but they were for a not good reason, which dimmed the mood for a bit...

"Rylee?" She heard the man say her name, pulling her from her thoughts.

"Eh, we don't have much to say about that," Sebastian intervened. Rylee hadn't even heard the question but she was grateful for Sebastian's quick response.

"Well, we're gonna get going, but take care, be safe." Sebastian said with a wave, Rylee waving quickly as well, both tossing on a smile as Sebastian opened the car door for her.

He walked around the back of the car, waving again at the paparazzi and opened the drivers side door and slid into the seat.

As they drove off, Sebastian exaggeratedly sighed, throwing his head back with a small laugh, "Paparazzi. I'm tellin' yah..."

"I completely zoned out half way through, not gonna lie, thanks for being quick on your feet."

"Yeah I was gonna ask if you were okay. Sorry if you didn't want to talk to them...sometimes I find it easier to just humor them for a moment."

"No, it was okay. I just started thinking about the reasoning for the back half of our LA trip...and I just got caught up in my head I guess...what did I miss him asking?"

"Oh, he had asked why you came back to New York and then left again. Like come on man." Sebastian rolled his eyes at the thought of people still talking about that.

"Ah, well I'm glad I missed it then," Rylee laughed lightly.

Soon, they made it back to their apartment where they spent the rest of the day relaxing in the living room together, legs tangled together on the couch as they sat on opposite sides. Not a lot was said between the two of them over the past few hours, simply comfortable in the silence with one another.

Sebastian was looking over scripts while Rylee scrolled through different social media platforms.

"Wow," Rylee stated sarcastically aloud, "that was fast."

Sebastian raised his eyebrow, lowering his script, waiting for her to continue but she just decided to pass him her phone to read himself.

Hallelujah! The days finally come! Sources outside Bellevue Hospital report that Sebastian Stan, 39, of Marvel fame, is officially out of his walking boot! Stan and his girlfriend, Rylee Summers, were seen coming out of the hospital, looking cheerful, and Sebastian was wearing both of his On running athletic shoes.

Another source caught up with Stan and Summers outside of a quiet coffee shop today and asked Sebastian about it, who stated, as of this morning he was boot free! How awesome!

But some are wondering what's going on with Summers as of late. When our source spoke to Rylee, they say she seemed out of it and losing focus, Sebastian answering questions for her.

"Wow. They'll really run with anything." Sebastian commented after he finished reading.

"It's not my fault I have resting bitch face," Rylee pouted, taking the phone back from Sebastian.

"But it's a cute resting bitch face, so it's okay." Sebastian scrunched his nose at her with a smile.

Rylee threw a throw pillow at Sebastian with a laugh as he blocked it right before it reached him, grabbing it and chucking it back at her with a laugh.

"It's today!!" Rylee ran down the hall, through the bedroom door, and jumped on the bed, landing on her stomach beside Sebastian.

Sebastian had still been fast asleep until that moment, but now he was up on his elbows, trying to put together any sort of coherent thoughts.

"Huh?" He asked, still half asleep and flat out lost, hair stuck in every direction.

"We go to the airport at 5:00 tonight!" Rylee practically yelled.

Sebastian plopped back down, closing his eyes and throwing his arm over his face, "And yet, what time is it?"

Rylee looked at the alarm clock beside her, "6:57."

"A.M. correct?" Sebastian asked, eyes still covered by his arm.

"Um yes." Rylee answered.

"Okay. I'm going back to slee-"

"But we need to pack! We've been slacking!"

"Woman, I was born a packing procrastinator. I can pack my bag half an hour before we leave for the airport and I'll be good." Sebastian laughed.

"Well, I need to start like...now, otherwise I'll forget something. Can I at least have a hint towards what I should pack clothes wise? I don't want to get heat stroke, but I don't want frost bite, you know?"

"The weather here and there are about the same. So whatever you'd normally be wearing now would be perfect.

"Okay...I've gotta find our suitcases. They're on your side of the closet right?" Rylee started saying as she walked towards the closet.

Sebastian was still half asleep but startled and jumped out of bed, just in his black boxer briefs, and intercepted her attempt at looking for them.

"They're down in the closet by the kitchen." Sebastian quickly added.

"Not sure why they're down there. But alright," Rylee shrugged as she left to go look downstairs.

Sebastian let out a relieved sigh, as he opened his closet and pulled out the suitcases. He unzipped the top pocket on one of the cases and pulled out a small black velvet box and tucked it away in another drawer beside him, out of view.

"Hey baby," Sebastian yelled, "I'm sorry, turns out they were here. They were behind some boxes." He pulled the suitcases out of the closet for Rylee, leaving them in the bedroom.

He heard a loud sigh from the floor below, "So I walked the whole way down here for no reason, Stan?"

"I'm sorry, I looove you!" Sebastian said as Rylee rounded the corner into the bedroom.

Sebastian placed his hands on either side of Rylee's face and gave her a big kiss in apology.
