《Actions Speak Louder Than Fortune Cookies》86 - Premiere Night

Rylee was shaking like a leaf. She had joined Sebastian at interviews before but was never really in the limelight.
He knew she would be anxious about today so he described every moment of how the night would play out in detail.
They would ride together in the car Marvel sends for them, and when they get out it'll probably be a bit overwhelming and loud for a few minutes. They'll walk down the line for interviews and then hit the red carpet for pictures. And then before they know it they'll be ready to walk in for the premiere.
Rylee appreciated that he was specific about what would happen, but it still couldn't quite calm her nerves.
Sebastian's stylists had come by to help both her and him get ready, though Rylee hadn't seen Sebastian for the last hour or so. Just as she was about to go look for him he knocked on the bedroom door.
He was about to speak but froze in the doorway awestruck.
Rylee's dress was simple, yet eloquent, beautiful. She wore a bateau neck, cream colored, knee length dress. The sleeves were long, down to her wrists, but they were made completely of what looked like cream colored mesh, covered variously in gold and cream colored sequin florals.
He caught a glimpse of her back as she turned and stood up to walk towards him. Her hair was up in a simple, yet sophisticated bun, helping her showoff that the dress was completely backless, accentuating Rylee's beautifully toned back.
He couldn't stop staring even if he tried.
"Hey handsome," Rylee said first, now seeing Sebastian fully as she walked towards him across the room. He was donning an all black suit with a black dress shirt underneath. His tie was black as well, but it had light smatterings of gold and cream colored florals, just like Rylee's dress. They matched perfectly.
"Good fucking God, you're gorgeous." Sebastian still stood frozen in the doorway, taking in every beautiful inch of his girlfriend standing before him.
Rylee blushed to her ears at the compliment. He had called her that countless times, but this time it just felt so different.
Sebastian finally entered the room and held up a small bouquet of red roses in front of him, offering them to Rylee. She let out an audible "aw" and took them from him, smelling them and their intoxicating scent immediately.
"Happy first premiere day!" He chuckled as he read the confusion plastered on Rylee's face, which after his quick explanation changed to aw and understanding. "Thank you, babe." Rylee smiled up at him from behind the beautiful flowers.
He pulled her towards him into a loving embrace. He leaned down, though there was no one else nearby, and whispered low enough for only Rylee to hear, "If I knew Maggie and Maria wouldn't kill me for ruining your makeup and outfit, I'd rip this dress off you right now and fuck you into tomorrow."
Once he finished, he laid a light kiss on her cheek, as though demonstrating how gentle he was deciding to be about her makeup, and turned to walk away.
She wasn't sure what came over her, but Rylee stepped forward and grabbed Sebastian's arm while he was still within reach and tugged him back, kissing him deeply.

She leaned closely to his ear now and whispered, "Don't make promises you can't keep."
She reached her thumb up to wipe off the tiniest smudge of lipstick from his lips and patted his cheek. She started sauntering to the door and excitedly squealed "Maria!" towards someone Sebastian couldn't see around the corner. He guessed it was Maria herself, but he was still frozen in place by Rylee's words, his pants feeling much tighter than they had earlier.
He wiped his thumb across the area that Rylee wiped her thumb across, double checking for leftover lipstick before he straightened out his jacket and headed towards the hallway, greeting Maria as he walked around the corner.
——————————
Sebastian and Rylee were sitting side by side in the car that was sent for them. Everything was happening just as Sebastian had said it would, which was a relief to Rylee. Sebastian's hand was resting lightly on Rylee's thigh, helping ground her in the moment.
Their was a roar of sound outside as the car came to a slow stop. Though the car windows were tinted, all the flashing lights outside made it almost impossible to see out.
"You ready?" Sebastian said, giving Rylee's thigh a light squeeze.
Rylee pondered for a moment and then nodded her head once, looking into Sebastian's shining blue eyes.
He smiled back in return and looked up to nod at the man in the front seat who immediately got out and opened the door on Sebastian's side. The screaming outside increased tenfold when Sebastian stepped out, his smile stretching from ear to ear as he waved.
He turned around and offered his hand to Rylee, giving her a wink, ready to help her out of the car. She took his hand and stepped out. The flashing lights were incredibly overwhelming but Rylee still managed to throw on a smile through all of her nerves.
Sebastian kept a tight, comforting grip on Rylee's hand the entire time they walked along the interview line.
Most of the interviews were the same. It was almost like speed dating.
"How are you?"
"Are you excited?"
"What's lined up for your character?"
"Any surprises?"
"How fun was filming?"
"Why do you have a walking boot?"
"When does it come off?"
And so on. Sebastian always made sure to introduce Rylee every time they met someone new, keeping their hands interlocked or his hand around her waist. Always supplying that comfort she didn't know she needed. Interviewers asked Rylee random questions that seemed to keep her on her toes.
"When did you to start seeing each other?"
"How did you meet?"
"What's the other like?"
Most questions stayed about their relationship and never got too personal about her, which surprised Rylee.
They eventually made it to the picture portion of the red carpet and this was the moment Rylee really realized she was nervous.
As they stood together, hip to hip, Sebastian's arm wrapped gently around Rylee's waist, Rylee started to get a bit overwhelmed.
There were camera flashes from every direction and people yelling from the left, the right, down front, over here, over there.
Sebastian could feel the tension radiating from her and he gave her hip a light squeeze, seeming to ask, "are you okay?" without fully asking. He looked down at her with all the love in the world shining in his eyes.

Rylee leaned close and whispered, "Everyone's yelling and I don't know where to look..."
"I never worry about them, I usually just do a slow scan of the line and then move on down. I start left and work my way right. But you're allowed to do whatever you want, sweets."
He gave her hip another reassuring squeeze as they moved a few more feet down the carpet.
When they stopped, Sebastian and Rylee had finally seemed to hit a rhythm together, both turning and looking in the same general areas together.
They both finally made it to the end of the carpet and were led inside the theater hall where suddenly, camera shutters ended, screaming seemed to cease, and anxiety dissipated as the doors shut behind them.
Sebastian immediately turned around and squeezed Rylee in a tight hug, lifting her off the ground, and ending it with a long, deep kiss.
"God. You're amazing. I love you. I'm so proud of you. " Sebastian said after their lips slowly parted.
"I love you. Thank you for being so supportive and making all that so easy." Rylee smiled widely, before diving back in to kiss Sebastian again.
"Hi Sebastian! Hi Rylee!" They heard someone say from behind them.
Both Rylee and Sebastian turned around to see Devyn, Charlotte, Ryleigh, and Abby standing together.
"Hi girls!!" Rylee practically squealed as she stepped towards them, pulling each into a hug, Sebastian following close behind.
"How are you all?" Rylee asked genuinely.
There was a mixed response of greats and goods from all four of them.
"That's great, I'm so glad you all could make it!" Sebastian said, placing his arm around Rylee's waist, pulling her close.
"Thank you so much for inviting us out! This trip was far too much, but we're so grateful for the opportunity!" Devyn said happily.
"You sound like a whole new woman since we last saw you!" Rylee stated. Last time she had heard Devyn speak, it sounded like every breath was painful, but now she was speaking at a normal pace and tone, which was lovely to hear.
"I've been cleared to play again as of last month! So I'm back to my usual!" Devyn replied.
"That's amazing, We're so happy for you." Sebastian responded, "ah, we've sadly got to get going." Sebastian had seen Chris and Alexa walking their way, " but I really hope you enjoy the movie and the rest of your trip!"
The girls all responded "thanks so much!" in unison as they all shared one last hug with Rylee and Sebastian and split, heading into the theater to find their seats.
When they separated and the girls were gone, Sebastian felt a hand clap onto his shoulder and turned to see Chris, already looking a drink or two deep.
"Finally! I thought you were ditching out on us!" Chris laughed, he reached out his other hand, holding two glasses of whiskey, on already obviously half full. Sebastian took the other one from his grasp and raised it to toast, taking a slow sip.
Alexa soon joined them, wearing a beautiful black satin, knee length dress. It was simple and sexy with a slit up the left side.
Her face lit up when she saw Rylee. "You look gorgeous, you bitch." Alexa commented as she handed Rylee a drink.
"Excuse me, you're gorgeous." Rylee retorted, taking a sip and realizing quickly that the drink Alexa grabbed her was her favorite, rum and coke.
"Did you do the carpet?" Rylee asked as she took another sip.
Alexa nodded, smile playing on her lips, "The world now knows that Chris Evans is off the market." She lifted her hands as if displaying an invisible banner.
"Uh, I'm pretty sure it says 'Alexa Davis is off the market,'" Rylee rebutted lifting her hands to her own invisible banner.
Alexa laughed but got serious again, "But honestly, I think it all went really well."
"That's great, I'm glad. Ours all went really well too."
When Chris and Sebastian were done chatting, Chris turned to Rylee and Alexa and asked, "You ladies ready?"
Both Sebastian and Chris offered out their arms and both girls took their significant others' elbows as they walked into the theater with the crowd to finally enjoy the release of The Last Mission.
——————————
Part way through the movie, Sebastian leaned over to Rylee and said he would be back, placing a quick kiss on her cheek and swiftly stood up exiting the theater.
A few minutes passed and Chris leaned over towards Rylee, "Is Sebastian okay?"
Rylee was confused by his question, "I think so? He said he'd be right back. Why?"
"It's coming up soon..." Chris answered quietly.
"What is co- oh. Oh no. I didn't even think of that, Chris." Rylee quickly answered and immediately stood up, leaving the dark theater and opened the door to the brightly lit hallway.
Sebastian was sitting right outside the door of their theater, looking at his phone. He hadn't heard Rylee come out.
"Hey," Rylee said quietly as she sat down beside him on the bench. "You okay?"
Sebastian put his phone in his pocket and leaned back against the wall, nodding, looking towards the ceiling.
"Just wasn't sure if I wanted to watch...you know..." Sebastian said quietly in return, eyes closed.
Rylee nodded in understanding before Sebastian even finished his sentence, "Yeah..I honestly didn't even think about it. Chris asked if you were okay and he mentioned that scene would be coming up." She leaned her head on his shoulder and laced her fingers with his.
He instinctively leaned his head over onto hers, immediately helping him to relax a good bit more. "A few more minutes and I'll head back in..."
"Then we'll head back in." Rylee corrected him, squeezing his hand in hers gently.
He turned slightly to kiss the side of her head, and went right back to the position they were in prior, relaxed on the bench. As they sat together, they made light small talk, and then eventually just sat in a comfortable silence together, soaking in each other's existence.
Sebastian looked at his watch and saw that it had been almost 5 minutes.
"Alright, shall we?" Sebastian said, standing up carefully and offering Rylee a hand, she stood up and they walked back into the theater hand in hand.
