《Actions Speak Louder Than Fortune Cookies》69 - Dinner and FaceTime

Sebastian woke up to his alarm blaring bright and early at 5:00 am. He tapped his phone to turn it off and rolled out of bed.

It was hard for him to get up to go to physical therapy in the mornings but it was the only time he could get there during the week. Plus he had appreciated his physical therapist in New York hooking him up with a local LA one while he was in town.

He grabbed his phone and made his way to the bathroom to start his morning routine when he opened his messages, seeing one from Rylee.

❤️

Good morning handsome, I hope you have a great day. Last night was great 😉

He did the quick math in his head to figure out that Rylee had sent that at 7:00, her time. He was surprised she was up early. She hated waking up, especially if she didn't have to.

😍

Good morning beautiful, You're up early.

Last night was definitely great 😏

Rylee answered right away, Sebastian assumed she must've had her phone in her hand.

❤️

Yeah. Not by choice. Lex wanted RCC for breakfast. And we know they cure any and all hangovers.

😍

That they do. Well what're you girls up to for the rest of the day.

❤️

Umm. Not super sure. Alexa needs to go shopping so I'll probably tag along with her.

What's your schedule look like today?

😍

They packed full every minute I swear.

Gotta meet up with Luke at six.

Then back to back interviews from like 8 til 2.

Then a meeting at 5.

❤️

Oof. That's a lot.

😍

Tell me about it.

❤️

Maybe we can FaceTime later?

😍

I've got an idea for that. Can you be home at 6:00?

❤️

I think that can be arranged.

😍

Great, I'll call you then.

I've gotta go get ready.

Love you

❤️

Love you too 😘

Sebastian walked slowly out of the building they had just finished their last interview, which of course went right until 2:00 on the nose. He had Chris and Anthony on either side of him as they made their way towards the car that was to take them back to the hotel.

There were a few fans waiting outside the building and all three men turned to chat with them for a few minutes and get pictures. The girls were nice, and extremely respectful which Sebastian really appreciated. Sometimes fans could get a little crazy and he wasn't up for that today.

One of the girls, who introduced herself as Steph, had asked Sebastian how he was doing and was happy to see him out of a cast. She said she had just had one on her arm as well and was now just sporting a small, black brace on her wrist. She said she definitely knew how it felt to make that jump from the cast to something different and she was happy for him.

He appreciated her thoughts and gave her a hug in return. He told her he hoped her wrist got better soon and that he was looking forward to not dealing with the boot anymore as he smiled.

They all waved good bye to the group and got into the car, Sebastian sitting up front. By the time they got through traffic they got back to the hotel around 2:30. Perfect. Sebastian thought. Just enough time to get everything sorted.

He made a few calls, showered, and got dressed and soon enough it was 3:00. He tapped through his phone and FaceTimed Rylee. After a few rings she answered, her beautiful face filling the screen.

"Hey you," Rylee smiled taking Sebastian in, "did you just shower?"

"Yeah I just got back at 2:30 so I was in a bit of a rush."

"I could've waited." Rylee responded.

"Nope. For one, I'll never make you wait. And two," he looked at his watch, giving a moments pause, he then heard the doorbell ring through the phone.

"Oh, hold on one second..." Rylee furrowed her brow, setting her phone down so now all Sebastian could see was the ceiling, though he could still hear her.

"Hi, um, I didn't order anything?"

"This was ordered by...a Sebastian? Special instructions said it was for Rylee. That you?"

"Uh. Yes. Thank you. Have a good night."

The door shut and he heard her padding back towards the phone.

When she picked it up Sebastian had the biggest shit eating grin on his face as he held up his own bag.

"Sebastian Stan. I'm swooning." Rylee only half joked. Sebastian had ordered her favorite food from her favorite Chinese spot and had it delivered so they could eat dinner together.

"Thank you." Rylee smiled lovingly, trying not to melt.

"You're welcome." Sebastian smiled his little lopsided smile as he unboxed his own chinese food on the coffee table in front of him. He sat criss cross on the floor and propped his phone up on an extra bottle of Heineken.

Rylee sat the exact same way, on the floor, at the coffee table, her phone propped up by a few books.

They ate together over FaceTime, discussing their days and what the rest of the day entailed.

"Oh my god, and then there was this guy...who was interviewing and he was dressed up as The Summer Soldier. And it was just incredible. We were all cracking up. We took a picture together. I'll have to send it to you later."

"What, was he like wearing swim trunks?"

"Yes!" Sebastian laughed so hard he knocked his phone over, "whoops!" He laughed again, straightening it back up.

"And he had silver flexible duct pipe for an arm, and a tropical button down with goggles. I was cracking up. Cause I realized he was the guy that was Captain Italy who was at a press junket for the last movie. And he was hilarious then too."

"Oh my god, I remember you showing me that picture. That's so funny." Rylee laughed and then there was a comfortable silence.

Rylee sighed, poking her broccoli with her fork, "I can't wait to see you." She smiled.

"I can't wait either. I know I'll be stuck working a lot, but our off time together will be fun." Sebastian smiled in return.

Sebastian looked at his watch and stood up quickly, grabbing his phone as he went, "Shit Ryles, I gotta go. My car for this meeting comes in like five minutes."

"Whoops! Time flies. Sheesh. Have a good rest of the day! And thank you for dinner." Rylee smiled again.

"You too love, and you're welcome, bye!" Sebastian winked and blew a kiss into the phone before he hit end.

——————————

The rest of the week passed smoothly and it was somehow already Sunday morning. Rylee and Alexa hung out during their free time and both worked the same shifts, so usually one just stayed at the others house so they wouldn't be alone.

Rylee was a little jealous that Alexa was heading out to visit her brother today and Monday so she would have to find some way to kill time those days. Alexa had left about five minutes ago and Rylee could already feel the overwhelming quiet.

Rylee checked her phone to see the time. 9:32 am. What would she do with the rest of her day. She already hadn't gotten much sleep since they had gotten home from work around 4:30, but she couldn't go back to sleep now.

She decided to go make herself breakfast, though she was surprised as she started unloading the pans she needed, her stomach felt off. Not extremely, just enough to grab her attention. She felt a small dull pain there in her side that ebbed away and occasionally came back.

She tried to brush it off, but as she was part way through cooking some sausage she felt the sudden urge to vomit. She dropped the spatula from her hand, clattering on the floor, as she ran quickly to the bathroom to throw up.

She stayed there for a moment, trying to collect herself. God that came out of nowhere. She stood up, brushed her teeth, and went back to the kitchen, the small dull pain still trying to make itself known. She took a few ibuprofen and finished making breakfast.

The rest of Rylee's day went as usual. She went to the gym and the Cafe. She chatted with Sebastian on FaceTime for a while around 6:00 and they also "chatted" then too, since he didn't have to be anywhere until 8:00 his time.

She thanked every being under the sun for the creation of FaceTime and the ability to not just have phone sex, but to be able to see each other during it too. It would never even be close to the same as being in person, but damn, FaceTime really helped out.

Before they hung up for the night, Sebastian said he probably wouldn't be able to talk to her much the next day. His schedule had him out all day, and he wouldn't be back til 10:00 his time. So he would try his best to text her when he could. They said their goodbyes and when Rylee looked at the clock it was 10:30. She decided to just hit the hay early, and maybe she could get motivated enough to get to the gym earlier too.

——————————

Rylee woke up at 6:45 feeling nauseated and didn't waste any time running to the bathroom to empty her stomach.

She tried to reflect back on what she was eating or drinking lately that may have made her sick.

She did eat left over chicken Alfredo that she had ordered out the other night. Maybe it went bad over night.

She sat on the side of the tub, head in her hands, trying to keep herself from getting dizzy. As she sat there, the dull pain in her stomach seemed to expand now to less of a dull pain and more of a more constant one.

She shook it off, went into her medicine cabinet and took some ibuprofen and went on with her morning. She grabbed a granola bar for breakfast and went to shower before she went out the door for the gym at 8:00.

Rylee started her day out on the rowing machine for a while and then eventually made her way to the tread mill, where she ran a few miles before her stomach became upset again. She turned off the machine and quickly scurried past a few people and went into the bathroom and threw up again.

God. This is the worst. I thought the feeling had died off, I guess not. That alfredos got me all kinds of messed up.

She tried to get herself together, washing her hands and splashing some water on her face.

She decided to head home and packed up her bag, tossing a piece of gum into her mouth until she could get home to properly brush her teeth.

After her short subway ride, she was back home. She tossed her bag down by the door and made a beeline for the bathroom, where she brushed her teeth and got another shower.

Afterwards she felt so wiped that she decided to lay down on the couch, and she immediately fell asleep.

The next thing Rylee knew, she was waking up to her phone vibrating on the table. She poked it with her hand, hoping to turn off the alarm, but then she heard a voice.

"Hello? Ryles?"

She turned over to grab the phone and realized she never had an alarm set and the noise her phone made was Sebastian calling. She turned on the speaker and put the phone back on the table, laying her arm over her forehead.

"Hey, sorry. Didn't realize you were calling.

"You nappin'?" Sebastian joked.

"Yeah. actually, it turned more into a sleep." Rylee looked at the time to see that it was now 5:00. "Wow."

"You must've been really tired," Sebastian commented.

"Yeah. Must've been." Rylee agreed.

They went on chatting about their days, but Rylee didn't mention all of hers. She mentioned briefly that she hadn't felt 100% for the last few days but she's still trucking along.

"Well that's good. Shit I'm sorry I've gotta run, they're already pushing me along to the next interview."

"That's okay, I'll talk to you later, I love you."

"I love you too babe, bye!"

"Bye!"

Sebastian hung up the call and Rylee slouched back into the couch. She tried to stay awake but she was just so exhausted. She couldn't even think about moving right now. But she at least decided to shuffle herself up and move to the bed and soon enough she drifted back to sleep.
