《Actions Speak Louder Than Fortune Cookies》37 - What Don't I Know?

Early Saturday morning, Sebastian Stan was seen rushing from his car down into a subway terminal at Brighton Beach. When he emerged from the subway, he exited with his Mystery Girl and another woman.
The Mystery Girl, as we've come to know and love, looked completely distraught. Sebastian had his arm wrapped around behind her as well as holding her arm for support. He helped her into his Jaguar along with the other woman and they quickly sped off.
What in the world is going on?
Our poor Mystery Girl!
We hope everything is okay!
Sebastian has been seen with the Mystery Girl multiple times over the last month or two. She's been very good at staying anonymous and he's been even better at hiding their status!

Alexa, surprisingly, saw it first. Her jaw dropped as soon as she saw the pictures. She didn't know what to do. Tell Sebastian? Tell Rylee? She ultimately decided to ask Chris.
They had talked in whispers in bed about Rylee's situation after they all left Ruby's late on Saturday night. Alexa had given Chris some details before, but he had just received far more information from Sebastian about it at Ruby's, so Alexa decided to give him information about Michael to fill in the gaps for Chris to fully understand the situation.
"What scum of the earth..." Chris spat, laying in bed next to Alexa.
"Yeah. He started out seeming kind, but as the years went by he let his true colors show, and Rylee just couldn't get out." Alexa sighed, reflecting back on her friends trauma.
"So what do we do about this article..." she questioned Chris.
"Maybe show it to Sebastian first. I know him and her had a conversation about paparazzi in the past... maybe he's got something to say about it." Chris answered.
Alexa nodded as she copy and pasted the link into a text to Sebastian.
Hey Sebastian. I know this is rough, but I wanted to make you aware this article existed...
There was a few minutes pause between Alexa sending the article and Sebastian's response. She assumed he was reading it before he responded.
Crap. I was afraid that would happen. Thanks for the heads up.
Chris read Sebastian's response over Alexa's shoulder. "God like they aren't dealing with enough, E!News has to stick their grimy little fingers in it."
"I know." Alexa said, pouting slightly.
——————————
Sebastian hadn't got much sleep after they got back to Rylee's around 4:30 am. He woke up around 8:00, his body trying to scream for normalcy since he usually woke up at 6:00 most days.
He was sitting up against the headboard in bed, next to Rylee's sleeping form. He couldn't for the life of him get back to sleep so he had decided to read the script he was given before he left Georgia.
He was going to have to go back to set on Monday, and he hadn't had much time lately to look over what he needed memorized for tomorrow. His main worry though was that tomorrow's set time was longer than usual, 14 hours. On a normal day, Sebastian would have just gotten permission to invite Rylee to set where she could hang out with everyone for the day, or camp out in his trailer. But with such a long day, that just didn't seem feasible. He hated that he had to leave Rylee but Chris was right. He couldn't put walls up around her forever.

It was now around 10:00 am and Sebastian's phone pinged with a notification. He was surprised to see a text from Alexa, but soon his heart dropped. He read the short article she had sent him over and over again. Why can't E!News read the fucking room and leave them alone when there's obviously something traumatic happening.
He looked over at Rylee, still fast asleep. He knew he would have to tell her about the article eventually, but he wasn't about to wake her up for it. He shot Alexa a quick text back, and went back to reading his script, trying not to stress about the article.
——————————
Rylee woke up to the sound of her alarm on her side table going off, signaling that it was noon. She thought about snoozing it but decided against it, starting to sit up on her elbow to grab her phone and turn off the alarm. She looked over to see Sebastian, leaning up against the headboard but his head was lulled to the side in slumber, the script he must have been reading still in his lap, highlighter with the lid off, propped in the crease of the page.
He's so stinkin' cute, Rylee thought. She gently got out of bed and went to go get a shower. She'd wake him up in a bit, she knew his sleep schedule was probably all shot to hell.
It was about 12:30 when she finished in the bathroom, and came back to the bedroom to grab some clothes for the day. She hopped her way into a pair of blue skinny jeans and pulled on a maroon crop top. As she started to walk to the other side of the room, Sebastian's phone chimed with a notification. They both never cared if the other had their phone or looked at it so it was normal for Rylee to immediately walk over to see who texted Sebastian.
When she got to his phone, on the opposite side table, she noticed the message was from Sebastian's trainer, Don.
Hey, missed you at the gym today
hope everything's okay
As she read his message, another message popped up. This time from Alexa. This one was surprising. She didn't think Alexa and Seb texted that often. She clicked it open to read.
Did you tell Ry yet?
Her heart sunk. Tell me what? She thought.
As her thoughts raced, she heard Sebastian stirring next to her. She put his phone back down in a panic. She wasn't really sure why. Again, they both shared their phones all the time and didn't have boundaries with them. But she still felt like she violated something.
"Hey you, sorry I fell back asleep." Sebastian said as he stretched his arms above his head.
"That's okay. Uh, you got a text from Don."
"Thanks," he mentioned as he reached for his phone to answer the missed message, closing his script with his highlighter bookmarking his page.
"And a text from Alexa...." Rylee said slowly, trying to make it obvious that she had read it.
"Oh, huh." Sebastian stated simply.
"What don't I know, Seb?"
Sebastian paused for a moment, running a hand through his hair. This isn't how he wanted this to go down.
"Sebastian." Rylee said, sternly.
He waited too long to answer, he's making this way worse than it needs to be. Just rip off the bandaid.
"Okay. This isn't how I wanted to show you this but..." Sebastian scrolled up in Alexa's messages and clicked open the link, holding it up for Rylee to read it fully.

Rylee's defensive stance suddenly weakened as she realized what she was reading.
"Oh my god. We just can't catch a break."
She laid back down onto the bed sideways, head ending up on top of Sebastian's lap. "I mean, I'm not loving that article, but at least I'm still a mystery." She laughed lightly.
"You're taking that article way better than I thought you would." Sebastian stated matter-of-factly.
"Sorry I got crazy for like three seconds. I don't know what I was thinking that text was about." She put her hands on her face in embarrassment.
Sebastian ran his fingers gently through Rylee's hair. "It's fine hun, there's a lot going on right now."
Rylee nodded. Sebastian's your support system. He's not trying to be sneaky. He loves you. Why are you letting Michael's shitty nature affect how you look at other people?
"So."
"So."
"I've sadly got a script to hover over the majority of the day, but is there anything else you want to do today?" Sebastian asked.
"I've got zero plans." Rylee answered quickly.
"Well, I can think of a few things we could do right now..." Sebastian said as he pulled Rylee back up further into the bed, kissing her as she giggled.
——————————
The majority of the week flew by quickly. Sebastian went back to set on Monday and Rylee went back to her usual schedule, split between seeing Sebastian whenever she could, Ruby's, RCC, the gym, and Alexa's.
Sebastian couldn't lie that he still worried constantly when he was away from Rylee for too long, or didn't hear from her in the middle of the day. They had both promised that if something with Michael ever came up, they would send their location and use the code word TAG. Even if it seemed silly, it helped them sleep at night.
——————————
On Thursday, Sebastian had an evening shoot, so Rylee decided to spend that time over at Alexa's. Chris wasn't filming tonight so he was over as well. All three of them sat spread around the kitchen, sipping their wine. Alexa sat on one counter top, while Rylee sat on another, and Chris sat on a bar stool by the kitchen island.
"So, Chris, did anyone tell you about Michael yet." Rylee asked as she finished up her second glass, and started her third, feeling loose.
Chris froze behind his wine glass, mid gulp. He looked at Alexa for help. Should he be pretending he doesn't know, or fess up and tell her he knows everything? Luckily Alexa picked up on his quick look and nodded.
"Alexa and Sebastian told me the majority of it...they wanted me to know just in case."
"Well, I'm glad they did. Cause the more eyes we have out for him the better."
"I'm sorry you had to go through all that..." Chris said sadly.
"Me too." Rylee said matter of factly. Her third glass of wine really throwing her filter out the window, "I mean, fuck, that guy almost killed me. Whyyy wouldn't he try again, yah know? I can't even throw away trash outside without praying I don't get murdered." Rylee shrugged.
"Rylee..." Alexa warned.
"Sorry...Chris you were just trying to be nice, and then there's me, bringin' down the party." Rylee said, in response.
"Rylee. Honestly. I mean it. You're one of the kindest, most wonderful people I've ever met. You don't deserve to have this shit thrown at you."
"Right? He made me feel like such utter shit. I was constantly walking on egg shells." She decided to just let it all pour out now, "I always thought everything was my fault and I deserved it. I've got scars from that asshole, here," she said pulling up her shirt to reveal she did indeed have a two inch long scar on her right side, "and here," she then held out her left hand to show another two inch long scar along her palm. "Fuck him!"
"Sebastian's the polar opposite of that douchenozzle," she continued, "He's sweet. And kind. And gorgeous. And cares about people." Rylee stated in a list, starting to slur a bit. "And especially the sex. Oh my godddd guys. Michael was mediocre at best. Sebastian is immaculate in-"
"Okayyyy I don't need to hear about Sebastian's dick skills thank youuuuu." Chris laughed.
"Jusssayin" Rylee shrugged as she took another gulp.
Alexa laughed, starting into her second glass of wine. They hadn't planned to have Rylee over to get drunk, but if she needed to get trashed for a night to have some fun then so be it. She deserved to have a minute to relax and not stress.
"Anyway. I'm done with that," Rylee waved her hand in the air as if to send away the thought.
"Cheers to that." Alexa raised her glass.
Rylee chugged the rest of hers, surprising Chris and Alexa.
——————————
Sebastian got out of work and had a few texts from Rylee.
Hey babe
We're all at Alexas
Come overrr!
Sebastian laughed to himself, and texted her back.
Hey
Sounds like you all have been having a good time.
I'll go home and shower and then I'll come over. ☺️
Yayyy! 🥰
Sebastian laughed and walked out to his car to head home.
An hour or so later, Sebastian came knocking at Alexa's door, Chris answered, which Sebastian was happy about. He didn't like the idea of the girls answering the door if they were alone.
"Hey Seb!"
"Hey man how's it going?"
"It's definitely been an evening." Chris laughed.
Sebastian walked in and saw that Chris was exactly right. Both Rylee and Alexa were laying on the floor, giggling about who knows what.
"Wine night?" Sebastian asked with a smirk.
"Wine night." Chris laughed heartily.
Sebastian laughed back. He knew Rylee had different kinds of drunk and wine ones were usually the most relaxed. Don't get her on the tequila train though, or she'll be sobbing all night.
Rylee looked up at Sebastian upside-down from her spot on the floor, "SEB!"
"Ryles!" Sebastian said back, sitting next to her on the floor. She squirmed her way towards him and laid her head on his lap. "Hi." He said, playing with her hair.
"Hi." She smiled up at him.
The four of them hung out for the rest of the evening. Drinking and enjoying each others company.
Alexa was still laying on the floor, scrolling through her phone and she gasped loudly. "Ohhhh my god." She sat up, jaw dropped.
"What?" Chris and Sebastian said in unison and Rylee turned to look at her as well.
"Um. Look."

Shadow in the North

She likes the idea of waking up in the middle of her favourite book with the handsome, brooding Mr Thornton glaring at people in his mill yard, but she doesn't worry about the foul air of dirty, smoky Milton, because it's not real, and it was written over 160 years ago.But then she takes a trip to Oxford, and gets waylaid along the way, finding herself greeted at a smoky train station, by a man called Mr Hale, who claims to be her godfather. When Isabel meets Margaret and first sees Mr Thornton, she's determined to help the course of love run a little more smoothly for the two stubborn lovers.
