《Actions Speak Louder Than Fortune Cookies》2 - I Am Professional

As soon as the door swung shut behind Johnny, he found the small brunette he was looking for tapping away on her phone.

He grabbed onto her shoulders, shaking them with each word he spoke. "Marvel. Actors. Are. At. The. Bar. As. We. Speak."

"Who?" The woman replied, becoming more confused with each small, sturdy shake. She put her phone down and eventually into her pocket in fear that he would shake it out of her grip.

"Rylee! Chris Evans. Anthony Mackie. Sebastian Stan. Out. At the bar. Right. Now."

Another woman with long, flowing auburn hair, presumably hiding in the back along with Rylee, stepped into the conversation, "First of all, you own this place. Shouldn't you be trying to act professional right now, and two, EXCUSE ME?"

Johnny ran his hands through his hair, " I am professional, Alexa. That's why I came back here to freak out instead of doing it behind the bar in front of them." He put out his hand in a "duh" sort of motion.

"I have to get back out there... I pretended to come back here for Coke because of course they ordered Captain America and Cokes.

"You mean this Coke?" Alexa said as she grabbed the two liter bottle from the fridge and scurried out the door towards the bar before Johnny could even realize what she was doing.

"Fuckkkk youuuu Alexaaaa!" Johnny pretended to yell in a whisper, throwing up middle fingers at her as she disappeared through the swinging door.

"What is happening right now?" Rylee asked as Johnny walked out the back door towards the dumpster to smoke.

-------------------------

Alexa made her way to the end of the bar where Chris was waiting patiently. Anthony and Sebastian were only a few steps away, putting a quarter into the pool table's pay slot to start a game.

"Hi boys, Johnny had to step away for a minute but you're in good hands with me, I'm Alexa." She tossed her hair over her shoulder and shot them a big smile. She began pouring their drinks, making sure to lean over just enough to accentuate her cleavage in her low cut black tank top.

All three men stopped what they were doing to acknowledge their new bartender, sending her quick waves and hellos. Anthony and Sebastian returned back to their game while Alexa had apparently grabbed Chris' full attention, as his eyes skimmed quickly up and down her body, watching her pour their drinks.

"Alrighty, three Cap and Cokes for three of the best heroes we've got." Alexa smiled with a wink as she poured on the charm, again, leaning on to the counter enough now to really stick what she's got out there.

"Thaaaank you very much, miss." Chris said with a wink in return. He handed her his credit card and asked her to keep their tab open. She obliged, tapping the card on her hand as she shot him a thumbs up and walked away with it, a skip in her step.

Chris watched her disappear, her hips swaying steadily in her almost nonexistent jean shorts, short enough that the pockets stuck out below their hem, her high heels accentuating her calves and her ass. He wasn't dumb, and he sure as hell wasn't blind. He smirked as he gathered their drinks and turned to the pool table the other men were at, dispersing their drinks to each one. Again, they tapped each others glasses, tapped the top of the pool table ledge, and then all took a swig.

Throughout the night the men were impressed. As it got later, the bar still stayed consistently busy. They knew people probably recognized them at this point but no one had come up to them to ask for pictures or autographs. They greatly appreciated that. They felt like they had some place to go that, at the moment, seemed fairly relaxed and chill. A place they could just be "normal guys" out for a good time. They played pool all night, not only between the three of them, but with other bar goers as well, taking turns putting quarters on the edge of the table to stake their place in line.

They had gone back up to the bar multiple times that night ordering various drinks from both Alexa and Johnny. Enjoying themselves, getting drunker by the minute.

Sebastian ended his round of pool, shaking hands with his opponent, Jason? Justin? He tried to remember but the night was quickly becoming a blur. He made his way to the other side of the bar to use the restroom, placing his hands on other bargoers' shoulders as he gently tried to squeeze past them. When he came back out he reached into his wallet to pull out a dollar. He walked up to the bar, placing his palm on it to keep his balance.

"S'cuse me, miss?" Sebastian basically slurred at the brunette behind the bar. Her back was to him as she dried glasses. He was surprised. He didn't think he had seen her yet tonight.

"Yes, how can I help you?" She asked as she continued with the next glass, turning around to acknowledge him. When she looked up, his blue eyes met her hazel ones and he suddenly became nervous. He definitely hadn't seen her before now.

Shit, she was beautiful.

Her long, chestnut hair bounced perfectly around her shoulders, big blown out curls framing her heart shaped face. She also wore Ruby's signature black tank top that the other women there wore, but why did it look so different on her. So simple, but it fit her body perfectly, trimming out her shoulders and ending tucked into her jean shorts. He finished his gaze by combing his eyes down her sleek legs and ending at her shoes. Simple, classic black high top Converse. She worked her style, but managed comfort all at once.

Another beat of silence passed and the woman said, "Are you alright?" Her eyebrows shifting in concern as she put the glass she had in her hand down, giving him her full attention. His eyes shot up to meet hers again.

What the hell, Sebastian. Get it together. You look stupid. He thought to himself.

"R-Right. Sorry. Um. Could I get four..quarters please?..yah know..for... the table.." as he pointed, obviously over to the pool tables, the only thing you would need quarters for in the bar. Smooth, Seb.

She smiled kindly and nodded at him, opening the register and producing four quarters.

He tried to hand her his dollar but she put her hand up, "Don't worry about it. The next four games are on me." She stated as she placed the quarters in his palm, rolling his fingers closed over them and patting them with her own, finalizing her words.

"Thanks, doll." He froze momentarily, then ran his hand through his hair as he quickly smiled and walked away. Did you really just fucking call her doll? Come on, Seb. Get. It. Together. He thought to himself again as he made his way through the crowd back to Chris and Anthony.

When Sebastian got back to the pool tables, he held up the four quarters to the group of 10-20 people huddled around and a loud up roar of drunken cheers broke out. You would've thought he had produced the Holy Grail with how excited the crowd got. Anthony handed Sebastian back his drink as he settled back into the group.

Sebastian turned to look at the girl behind the bar, tapping his glass on the table, then holding his drink up to her, before he took a swig. She smiled at the gesture and tipped her imaginary hat to him, turning back to finish drying the glasses in front of her.

--------------------

Time had flown when they were inside the walls of Ruby's. Somehow it had already become three o'clock. Rylee stood on a chair behind the bar ringing their bell to announce last call. The DJ was now playing various requests from bargoers, somehow turning the end of the night into karaoke. The songs for the last hour had ranged from 'Poker Face' by Lady Gaga to 'Piano Man' by Billy Joel. Chris, Anthony, and Sebastian occasionally joined into the singing as they slumped themselves onto stools along the bar.

Soon after, Chris made his way up to the DJ and requested a song, knowing full well it would get Sebastian up on his feet. When he returned back to his stool at the bar, Sebastian gave him a questioning look. Chris shrugged at him with a smirk and turned back around to pick up his conversation with Alexa, flirting like their was no tomorrow.

After the song 'Dancing Queen' by Abba slowly died down, Sebastian perked up at the next song's opening chords. He looked at Chris who shrugged again and bowed as if to say 'I know, you're welcome.' Chris then turned back around to finish what he was saying to Alexa behind the bar. Someone in the crowd let out a loud whoop and drunkenly yelled "DIRTY DANCINGGG" over the sea of people. The words began and the crowd joined in.

I've been meaning to tell you,

I've got this feeling that won't subside.

Eyes in the crowd started to shift towards the shape of a person that made its way quickly through the crowd, towards the stage where the DJ was located.

"No way... is he gonna do it? CHRIS." Anthony cheered, surprised at what he was seeing unfold. If he was right, his normally shy friend, who was now missing from his seat next to him, was actually about to do something spectacular.

I look at you and I fantasize

You're mine tonight

Now I've got you in my sights

Anthony grabbed Chris' cheeks in his hand and turned his head to look at the stage and away from Alexa. They could now clearly see that Sebastian had hopped up onto the DJs stage, the DJ willingly handing over his microphone to Sebastian as the chorus broke out.

With these hungry eyes

One look at you and I can't disguise

Sebastian sung his completely wasted heart out into the microphone, thrusting his hips to the beat of the song, earning hoots and hollers from the crowd. He couldn't really see with the lights on the stage but he could make out one figure in the dark, the pretty brunette behind the bar, her eyes holding contact with his as he belted out the rest of the chorus.

I've got hungry eyes

I feel the magic between you and I

She was taken aback, but blushed none the less as he pointed in her direction during that last line. She was happy she was semi hidden by the dark of the bar as she couldn't hide the smile that crossed her lips, pushing loose hair behind her ear and out of her face.

Sebastian continued singing the song into the microphone, along with the rest of the crowd backing him up. When the last few chords began to ring out he bowed, passed the microphone back to the DJ and hopped off the stage the way he came, almost tumbling in the process. On his trek back to his friends, he received a ton of back pats and high fives from random strangers.

"That...My man...was...I have no..words." Anthony said as he reached out to pat him on the back as well.

"Oh I-I got words." Chris chimed in, drunk out of his mind. " FUCK. YES." He yelled as he hugged Sebastian quickly and then clapped his hands on to each side of his face, shaking it gently as Sebastian's lips poked out like a fish.

"Ayo, Jeff just..textedto say he's ousside." Anthony said, showing the text to, his friends like they needed proof.

"Wattaguy." Chris stated simply.

Upon receiving that text, the men made their rounds of goodbyes to those they had been interacting with throughout the evening. Chris walked up to the bar, leaning on it. He waved Alexa over and asked her to close them out for the night. She smiled brightly and obliged, turning around to bob back to the register, Chris watching her every move as she went. After a few moments she came back and handed him his receipt and a pen, asking him to sign off on it. Johnny called her name right then and she held up a finger to Chris as she bounced over to see what Johnny needed.

While she had disappeared, he filled out the receipt, doubling his total, filling in the tip at 100%. As he finished writing on it, she had returned. He folded it in half and handed it to her, thanking her for their evening and complimenting their establishment. She thanked him and told him to come back any time, sliding a wink and a smile in before he turned away.

Chris made his way to the front door where Anthony and Sebastian were waiting for him. They opened the doors to see Jeff had pulled their car up front and center. They made their way to the same seats they had previously occupied and slowly drove back to the hotel. Quiet overtaking the car as the men relaxed into their seats.
