《Snatched》Chapter 52

Stupid villains in up my stupid business.
You ultimately decided that you wouldn't say anything unless you saw someone from the league again. You weren't going to expose Touya after all the trouble you went through to save him, but you couldn't have villains wondering around your friends.
You were suddenly met with a terrible noise, your heart dropped knowing the consequence of what you had just done.
Birds chirped outside your window.
You had paced around your room all night debating the Touya incident.
You weren't going to get a chance to sleep.
"Uhghhh" you groaned changing into your uniform knowing it was too late now "I wish I had fallen off the balcony."
You grabbed your book bag and double checked the lock on the balcony door before dragging yourself down to the kitchen.
To your surprise there was only one person in the common area.
"Good morning Y/n!" Tenya greeted you from the other side of the counter "You're up early, I took you for a night owl."
"Oh you weren't wrong, I just didn't sleep. Is that coffee?" you eyed the blue mug he held in his hand.
"It is, would you like some."
"Yes please."
Tenya turned his back to you colleting the things to make another cup of coffee.
"Were you not able to sleep?" he asked while holding two mugs up to you.
You gestured to the purple one "Yeah, I guess its just the new environment."
I'm such a good liar.
"I see. I can understand that feeling."
You glanced at the clock a part of you dying at the realization it was currently 6 in the morning. "What about you Tenya, why are you up so early?"
"I always get up at 5 am for a 60 minute sprint." he poured your drink into your chosen mug. "Milk or sugar?"
"That sounds like something you'd do." you gave him your coffee preferences and he passed you your drink.
"You're always welcome to join me Y/n. Early morning activity is highly beneficial for blood flow and overall health."
"I'd love to Tenya but I don't think I'd survive a 60 minute sprint." you took a sip of your coffee and were met with the most delicious liquid you had ever tasted. "Holy shit Tenya this is so good!"
"Language Y/n, and thank you." he smiled proudly "I've been making it for my brother every morning since the accident. It was strange not making two cups earlier. "
"You can make that other cup for me now." you grinned, gulping down the coffee not caring about the scalding temperature.
"I would like that."
You and Tenya chatted until the rest of your class started to wake up and slowly streamed into the common area.
"Mornin' Y/n" Denki came up behind you slinging his arm over your shoulder "How are you on this fine day."
"I'm just lovely Denki however I would be a lot better if I was sleeping."
"Awe are you not a morning person Y/n?" he cooed lightly poking you on the cheek.
"What a hilarious question." you tazered him in the side and slid off the chair you were sitting in. "I'll be back in a second."
You placed your empty mug in the sink before setting off towards the boys rooms.
"Be quick Y/n we have to leave in 6 minutes to be on time to class." Tenya called after you.
After a couple minutes you came up to Shoto's room and knocked on the door. You had expected that he would be one of the first people up since he went out on morning runs like Tenya, but you hadn't seen him at all.

When you got no response you started to panic.
You tried the handle only to find the door locked. Desperately, you banged on the door.
What if Touya talked to him? I still haven't told Sho he was alive. What if he was kidnapped?
Just as you were about to kick the door in, Shoto appeared in the door frame.
"Sorry, I overslept."
You just stared at him, your heart still pounding in your chest.
"What?" he asked
You raised your fist and punched him lightly on the arm. "You're so stupid."
He studied you quizzically "Sorry?"
I have to tell him about Touya, and soon. I don't want something to happen.
You took a deep breath and grabbed him by the wrist. "Common on idiot we're going to be late."

"I believe I mentioned this already, but your main goal this summer is receiving provisional hero licenses." Aizawa stated "Do not take this lightly, a license means you are responsible for human life so naturally the test is hard. Only 50% of students pass each year."
That's actually a lot higher than I thought.
"To prepare you will be creating two ultimate moves with the help of Cementos, Ectoplasm and Midnight."
The three mentioned teachers entered the room and half of your class started bursting with excitement.
"Ultimate moves!" Mina squealed "That's so cool!"
Denki practically jumped out of his seat "An exam is normal school stuff but ultimate moves are real hero work!"
"When we say ultimate we mean a move that will ensure you win against your opponent" Ectoplasm clarified "It will be an action so unique nobody could hope to copy it."
You snorted receiving a sharp look from Aizawa.
My quirk is literally called Snatch, I can't exactly be unique.
The teachers gave you a couple more instructions and told you to get changed and meet them in Gym Gamma.
"As cool as Ultimate moves sound I wonder why we need them for the licensing exam?" Tsu asked while the girls got changed.
"The exam covers all types of hero work from combat to teamwork to search and rescue." you replied pulling your costume over your head "They're analyzing us on all aspects of hero qualifications and having an ultimate move is one of them."
"Woah Y/n how do you know all that?" Hagakure asked in awe "Do you know what the exam will be this year?"
"Nah they change it every year," you held the door for the rest of your group and started walking to the gym. "and I just do my research."
In reality you had an uncle that crammed hero information into your head 24/7 so you knew about this kind of thing.
You met up with the rest of your class in Gym Gamma. It was a huge building covered in cement which Cementos could manipulate to form different kinds of terrain.
"Alright now that everyone is here there is another thing we forgot to mention earlier." Midnight called the class to attention "An ultimate move does not need to be combat related. For example Iida's recipro-burst is unique and useful enough it falls under the category of an ultimate move."
"Okay everyone you will spend the next 10 days developing our moves and thinking of changes you want to make to your costume. I expect all of you to work hard now get to it." after some final words from Aizawa your class dispersed and started experimenting.

Ectoplasm created several clones of himself and began sparing with people who were ready to test their moves. You didn't want to interrupt them by using your quirk on them so you took a seat on one of the rocks created by Cementos and tried to think through some ultimate moves.
The biggest issue you were coming across with your ideas was that your quirk depended entirely on who was around you. You were never going to reliably have a certain quirk you could use. You weren't like your uncle so you couldn't just get rid of someone's quirk, you had to use it. You could always just take 100% of your opponent's quirk but then you'd be completely drained afterwards and wouldn't be able to keep fighting.
The more I use someone's quirk the more tired I get afterwards. And they're always super rejuvenated when I give it back.
You groaned, your head hurting from thinking so much "I wish it just worked the other way around."
You watched as you classmates darted around the gym trying different ideas out. Izuku had just realized he had legs and was whipping around the gym so fast it was almost giving you whiplash.
An idea suddenly popped into your head. A stupid idea, but you couldn't think of anything else.
If I'm really fast, it could work.
You needed a willing test subject so you pushed yourself off your rock and jogged over to where Katsuki was blowing up walls of cement, stopping just far away enough to not be exploded.
"Kat do you want to be my test subject?!" you called out to him.
His explosions stopped "The hell?"
"I need a test subject to try out my ultimate move" you explained "and you, my dearest friend, are a perfect candidate!"
"I'm not a fucking lab rat." he huffed turning back towards his wall of cement "Fuck off Y/n."
His response was harsh but surprisingly tame considering you had expected protest in the form of yelling. Something was definitely going on but you decided to ask him about it later and looked for another subject.
"Heyyyy Denki!" you walked up to him as he was taking a break after sparing with Ectoplasm "Wanna be my test subject?"
"That is not what I was expecting you to say when I saw you coming over here." he sighed "At least take me out to dinner before you ask to start experimenting Y/n."
You chuckled "Okay fine, I'll take you out to dinner if you'll be my test subject."
His eyes widened "Wait really? Just us two?"
"Yeah of course! Unless you want to invite people?"
Denki jumped up waving his arms is the air "Nope! No need! Okay what do you need me to do?"
You smiled at his enthusiasm "Just activate your quirk and brace yourself. I only have vague idea of what's going to happen."
"Alright!" he pumped his fist too excited to care about the risks.
You took a couple steps back giving Denki room to activate his quirk. Electricity crackled through the air raising the hair on your arms and sending a jolt through your body.
Here we go.
Taking a deep breath you activated your quirk and searched for his aura. Once you found it you mentally braced yourself and pulled as hard as you could. As soon as you felt 100% of his quirk you let go and shoved his quirk back.
A huge flash of light emitted from where he was standing and suddenly he collapsed.
"Denki!" you ran over to him and pulled him into a sitting position "Are you okay?!"
You let out a sigh of relief when you saw his face. He had just gotten dumbified like he usually did when overusing his quirk. You hadn't kept the quirk for long enough for it to have an effect on your body so you felt fine.
Your stupid idea had worked remarkably well. You weren't sure if you were right but you expected that when you pulled 100% of his quirk and returned it at 100% while he was using it, you forced him to use 100% of his quirks power and exhaust himself. By pulling and pushing his quirk extremely quickly you essentially had given him quirk whiplash.
Whiplash is a pretty good name for an ultimate move.
"Are you two okay over there?" Cementos called out.
"Yeah Denki just needs a break!" you called back, pulling Denki's arm over our shoulder and carrying him over to the benches at the side of the gym.
***
After a long day of training, your class made it back to the dorms and gathered around the table for dinner.
"Is anyone thinking about changing their hero costumes before the exam?" Mina asked reaching for the salt.
"Definitely," Ochaco responded handing it to her "I get super nauseous when I use my quirk so I'm hoping I can find a way to fix that."
"I would like to find a solution to the overheating that my engines experience." Tenya added "It would greatly improve my performance."
"I just want to look cooler." Denki sighed. Having recovered from overusing his quirk later in the afternoon, you decided you would have your diner "date" tomorrow.
You were about to contribute your new ideas for your costume when you saw something out of the corner of your eye darting through the trees behind the dorms. Or rather someone.
This bitch
You tried to stealthily stand up and slip outside but managed to slam your knee into the top of the table, flip your chair backwards, and knock over your water with your elbow. Miraculously, Shoto was able to catch the glass before it tumbled off the table but now everyone was looking at you.
"Where are you going Y/n?" Izuku asked.
"You good bro?" Kirishima eyed your now bright red knee.
"I'm fine" you squeaked "Just need some air."
You hobbled to the sliding glass doors followed by some very concerned stares, and hauled yourself out of sight of the people watching you from the table.
After composing yourself you decided to face the issue head on.
"You need to fuck off." you called out into the darkness. "We can't be doing this."
Despite the silent response you knew he was there, you could feel his presence from within the forest.
"Come on out, I can tell you're there." you groaned, tired of the games.
To your surprise, the person that stepped out of the woods was not Dabi but a purple haired boy you had not see in a while.
"Shinso?" you gaped at him "You are not who I thought you were."
"What other late night guests are you expecting Y/n?" he grinned slyly finally coming into the light.
You scrambled for a reason you would be expecting someone to be hiding in the woods only to finally grasp the absurdity of the situation.
"Better question. What are you doing hiding behind our dorm late at night?"
He scratched the back of his neck unable to make eye contact with you. "I got lost."
You blinked
"Lost?"
"Lost."
You tried your best to hold back your laughter but only managed to almost suffocate yourself.
He glared at you "Don't laugh. This is a new place and it's completely reasonable for someone to get lost in the endless forest."
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" you pleaded as he turned away from you in protest "You're right. Completely reasonable."
He turned back around still somewhat pissed and you were able to get a good look at him. The bags under his eyes were bigger than they usually were and his hair even messier. You came to the realization that this move was a lot harder on some people than it was for you. They were taken away from their homes and families and of course someone would want to get out. Of course they would get lost in the unfamiliar surroundings.
"Do you want me to walk you back?" you asked softly.
"I guess so." he sighed, a smile playing at his lips as he held is arm out for you.
You took a step to take it, only to find that your mild knee injury was not so mild after all. Your leg buckled and Shinso grabbed your arm in an attempt to keep you from falling. Unfortunately, the momentum you had already gained was too strong and you pulled him down with you. With the decent already in motion, Shinso did his best not to crush you by bracing his arms on the ground.
You opened your eyes to find Shino directly above you bright as a tomato.
How does it always end up like this
"Hey! Get off of her!"
