《Snatched》Chapter 50

"Dorms?" You almost choked on the pencil you were chewing. "I've got a feeling that's not going to turn out the way you think it will."
After a half hour of being chewed out by your uncle and then another solid 15 minutes of you both almost in tears. You had been redirected to the police station where you reported to them everything that had happened while you were kidnaped. You made sure to leave out the part about saving Touya from being arrested and the fact you and the villains held a gossip circle for a decent amount of the time you were there.
Now you were back on the phone with your uncle who was telling you UA's new plan.
He sighed so loud you could hear it through the phone. "That's what I've been trying to say but the administration thinks it's the safest place for you students."
Despite your hesitation about living with 20 other people, you couldn't help but feel excited. You were going to get to live with all your friends and have sleepovers and parties and make Kat cook for you whenever you wanted. "So what's the plan?"
"The dorms are currently being built on the UA campus. Each class will have a building to themselves relatively close to the school. This way we can keep an eye on you and prevent..." he paused "unwanted events... All Might and I have been personally going to each student's house to try and convince their parents the dorms will be the safest place for them."
"That'll be hard. I wouldn't want my child to be in the hands of the school that is constantly being attacked by villains and just had two students kidnapped." You slapped a hand over your mouth before you said anything else.
...
"Y/n...listen" Shota started "It's going to be different now. We're going to keep everyone safe. We're going to keep you safe this time."
You felt your throat tighten, you didn't mean to make him feel guilty.
You forced a chuckle "Tell that to them, not me. I'm completely on board. I'm tired of eating stale cereal. Oh by the way, what happened to All Might? Did he win the fight with All For One?"
Shota hesitated, something that immediately told you something was wrong.
"He won the fight..." Your uncle took a deep breath "but his power is almost gone. The fight was so intense that he can barely transform..."
Your jaw dropped.
Oh shit
"Nobody knows but the school and a select few others." he continued "The press and citizens were told that 'after defeating his arch nemesis, All Might has officially retired'. The title of Number One hero has gone to Endeavor."
Your mind immediately began reeling.
Oh god. Does Izuku know? He must know. It's probably because All Might passed his power to him that he can't use it anymore. What about Katsuki? He must blame himself, there's no way he doesn't. That's going to be a problem especially if we're all in the dorms together. Should I blame myself? I was half the reason All Might ended up fighting All For One in the first place...hell no! What am I thinking! It's not my fault. I didn't ask to be kidnapped...I should tell Katsuki that. Ah shit and Endeavor is the number one hero now! I lost that bet. Now I owe Denki and Sero 20 bucks.
"...y/n...Y/n!"
"Huh what?" You were pulled out of your head by Shota yelling at you "I'm listening... Wait, what did you say?"

"I asked if you're going to be ready to move into the dorms by tomorrow?"
"Yeah I'll be fine" you responded, absentmindedly thinking about how Shoto also owes 20 bucks and wondering if you could split the cost.
"Alright then. I need to get going, call me immediately if you think there's any danger. I'll be around to pick up your things at 8 tomorrow morning."
"Okay...WAIT 8 AM?!" you screeched, just then realizing what you had agreed to, but your uncle had already hung up.
You were about to call him back but decided against it since he was probably stressed enough and you didn't want to have to listen to a lecture about paying attention.
"It's fine. This is fine." you muttered to yourself looking around your apartment at the billions of things you had to pack in, you checked your phone, "12 HOURS?! I ONLY HAVE 12 HOURS!?"
After realizing you wouldn't be sleeping and a sufficient amount of screaming into a pillow, you decided to run to the convenience store to see if they had some extra boxes you could use to pack your stuff into.
You threw on some socially acceptable clothing and grabbed your keys and phone before confidently throwing open the door and slamming your face into something hard.
ow. whom the fuck.
You stepped back and looked up only to be met with equally bewildered multi-colored eyes.
"Sho how long have you-"
Before you could finish, Shoto pulled you into a tight hug and buried his head in your shoulder. After recovering from the shock of it, you wrapped your arms around him in response, closing your eyes and letting yourself be held. The two of you stayed like that for a long time, holding each other closely. Soaking in the feeling of the other person.
Eventually he broke the silence with barely a whisper "I love you."
You smiled softly "I love you too Sho."
He jolted and pulled himself off of you, holding you away by the shoulders so he could see your face. He searched your eyes frantically for something but he must not have found it, whatever it was, because his face fell into disappointment and he dropped his hands.
"And what the hell was that?" you asked once he had stopped analyzing you
"Nothing." he breathed "I'm just glad you're okay."
Something about loving him? Of course I love him, I love tons of people. What does he think I meant?
You huffed at his stubbornness but didn't feel like pressing him any further on it. You linked your arm through his, and started walking towards the convenience store. With no protest from him, you decided to go back to the original question.
"Since you didn't let me finish before, how long have you been standing in front of my door like a stalker."
"I'm not a stalker Y/n."
You groaned elbowing him in the side "Answer the question Sho."
"A couple hours."
You stopped walking, pulling him to a halt beside you.
"..."
"..."
"That's kind of sus-"
It was his turn to elbow you in the side "I was making sure you were safe."
You knew what he meant and your heart ached thinking about how worried he must have been to guard your door. You were suddenly reminded of a similar boy who sat by you when you were in the League's hideout, making sure nobody came too close. Shoto deserved to know his brother was still alive, he deserved to know everything that happened involving Touya, but you couldn't convince yourself to tell him. Part of you wished you also had never found out that your childhood friend was a mass murdering villain.

You shook the thoughts from your head and continued walking. You had missed messing with Shoto and you weren't giving up this opportunity.
"I don't know Sho, standing in front of a young lady's door at night for hours on end waiting for her to come out so you can grab her seems a little... stalkerish to me. Not to mention the fact I've never told you where I live." you feigned a gasp "Oh my goodness and now you have me in your grasp whatever shall I do?"
You imagined that he would already be fed up with your bullshit but when you glanced up at him he was smiling. "I missed you Y/n."
You smiled back "I missed you too Sho."

After getting the boxes and making it back to your apartment you and Shoto began the impossible task of cramming all of your shit into boxes. After about two hours of no progress and the discovery of a back closet you had forgotten about, you decided to enlist the help of some of your friends.
You texted Kirishima and Mina who you knew lived close and stayed up late to come and help. Mina got there first and greeted you with a slap to the face followed by a spleen shattering hug and a couple minutes of crying. Kirishima showed up sweating like crazy having run over to your apartment and then seemingly tried to confess something to you before realizing there were other people there and opting for a long hug instead.
"Alright everyone thanks for your help and lets get to it." you announced when everyone was ready to go. "Sho you take the mysterious closet that just appeared, Kiri you take the Living Room, Mina you and I will do the bedroom."
"Uhm Y/n." Mina pointed to the pitiful pile of boxes you had acquired. "There's no way we're getting all your stuff into those boxes."
You cringed realizing she was right "...a minor miscalculation."
After a lot of complaining and grieving over the things you would have to lose, you decided that you probably didn't need things like your collection of 'satisfyingly shaped rocks' and told everyone to throw unneeded things into the center of the apartment. This pile quickly grew into a mountain spanning the whole length of the Living Room. Mina accurately named it 'The Great Divide'.
"You really shouldn't have so much unnecessary stuff Y/n." Shoto called from the other side of The Great Divide.
"Really Sho? I was just thinking that I need more things." you called back sarcastically as you begrudgingly tossed a half assembled Lego set into the divide. "Can we get a time check Kiri?!"
Kirishima was the only one of you who hadn't lost their phone in one of the piles of things. "We've got 4 more hours!'' His voice came from the general direction of the Living Room.
"Ugh there's no way." Mina groaned, slumping onto your bed "How do you even have this much stuff."
You actually had a reasonable answer for this one "Once I snatched the quirk of someone walking past the building which was able to create space within space. So no matter how much stuff I put in a drawer or closet it would never be full. I didn't realize it until I did it to the whole apartment. I also just don't throw things out."
"I wish I had that quirk then I'd never run out of room for clothes" Mina sighed
"Well it's certainly not helpful now." you grumbled taping up another box of clothes
She pushed herself off the bed and went back to folding the third drawer full of sweatpants "No kidding."
"Y/n," Shoto called "do you need a book of pictures of...who is this guy?"
SHIT
You shot up from your place on the ground "DON'T LOOK AT THAT!" you screeched running to climb over the pile of clothes blocking the door.
"Oh ho ho," Mina chuckled deviously "Who do you have pictures of Y/n?"
"NOBODY!" you scrambled over the pile only to be dragged back into your room and pinned down by Mina.
"What's going on over there?" Kirishima asked, sounding worried at your screaming.
"Y/n's got a book filled with pictures of a secret crush!" Mina responded, keeping your squirming body down "What does he look like Todoroki?!"
"Well he's got-"
"SHUT IT SHO!" you thrashed out of Mina's grip and jumped up "ACTUALLY JUST BURN THE BOOK!"
"We've got a runner!" Mina called
You dove over the pile of clothes landing directly in Kirishima's waiting arms who used his quirk to trap you.
"Kiri I swear to god if you don't put me down right now-" you hissed
"Chill out Y/n we're just curious!" he smiled so innocently you almost forgot you were on a mission to save your reputation. "We want to know who you like!"
Your heart pounded frantically as you struggled to get out of his grip. Your entire existence would be ruined if they read that book. You could only think of one way to get Kirishima to drop you and looked directly into his eyes.
Time seemed to slow for a moment as you took a deep breath and watched his confused expression turn to one of realization.
"Your eyes are still gorgeous" you whispered before smashing your lips onto his.
He tasted sweet, like pepsi and sunshine and although it was purely a tactile maneuver, when he pressed his lips back onto yours, your heart skipped a beat and heat rose to your cheeks.
As you anticipated, he almost completely froze, but before you tore yourself out of his grasp you hesitated, a part of you not wanting to break away. Despite that, you slipped out of his arms and sprinted across the living room towards Shoto who conveniently had frozen as well, staring, eyes wide, at Kirishima with your target in his hands.
You suddenly realized that you had built up too much momentum spiriting towards him and instead of stopping and giving him a chance to pull the book out of your grasp you decided to crash right into him knocking you both to the ground. In one motion, you grabbed the book, lifted it above your head, and sat up so he couldn't take it back.
"AHA!" you yelled triumphantly waving your prize in the air "Take that!"
...
"Y/n..." Mina hesitantly broke the silence "You good?"
"What are you talking about of course I..." and then you realized what you just did "oh."
You looked behind you and saw Kirishima still frozen, face on fire with a hand to his lips.
"Kiri I'm so-" you felt something move beneath you and just then had the thought to look at what you had landed on.
Shoto lay on the ground, cheeks insanely flushed as you straddled him over the stomach.
...
"I may have overreacted just a tad."
"No shit Y/n!" Mina cackled "I wish I recorded that!"
You slowly stood up giving Shoto an apologetic look and walked over to Kirishima who still hadn't moved an inch.
"I'm so sorry Kiri, I just panicked and couldn't think of anything else. Consent is important and-"
Kirishima finally jolted out of whatever haze he was in and flashed the biggest smile imaginable, his features almost glowing "Don't even worry about it Y/n! I'm not mad at all, on the contrary actually." Kiri locked eyes with Shoto with a look more victorious than you wore a moment ago. "That was the best kiss I've ever had."
You were too happy he didn't hate you to even be embarrassed by his comment.
The room suddenly started to feel uncomfortably warm and you looked to Shoto who seemed to be activating his quirk. "Are you okay Sho? Did you hit your head?"
"I'm fine." he bit out, not taking his eyes off the boy beside you.
Mina glanced nervously between the three of you, Shoto's glare at Kirishima sending a shudder through her bones.
"Everyone get back to work we don't have much time left!" she announced pushing Kirishima to the door before the apartment lit on fire. "How about you go and get us some coffee."
***
The four of you managed to push through the last hours of the night fueled by caffeine and Mina's unreasonably amazing playlist and finally heaved the last box of who-knows-what out of your apartment 10 minutes before your uncle was scheduled to pick you up.
"Thank you guys so much for helping me out."
"No problem Y/n we're happy to lend a hand." Kirishima grinned
Mina yawned, downing the last of her coffee "I'm just glad I found my phone. If we hadn't had the music on it would probably be lost to The Great Divide."
"You're lucky, Sho's phone is still missing." you gave him a sympathetic pat on the arm "But he could buy 20 new ones if he wanted so it's no big deal."
Shoto nodded, of course he was absolutely stacked.
"By the way Y/n, you never told us what was in that book." Mina mentioned locking eyes with you.
"Drugs." you answered immediately, pushing the three of them onto the sidewalk "and other very illegal things you shouldn't ever want to look at."
Mina gave you a skeptical look "Fine, keep your secrets Y/n, but once we move into the dorms we'll be playing a lot of truth or dare and I'll find out eventually."
You snorted "Is that a threat?"
"Oh absolutely." Mina waved to you as she started walking towards her house probably to pick up a few things before she headed over to the dorms.
You weren't too worried, even if they did look in the book, all they'd find in the first few pages would be pictures of your fictional crushes. If they read the rest of it though, you would simply pass away.
I can't believe they didn't guess it's a diary.
"Bye Y/n, I'll see you in a bit!" Kirishima called as he walked towards the bus stop.
"Thanks again!" you called back.
Shoto lived much farther away so he waited with you for a couple minutes until a driver came to pick him up.
Rich kid
Finally, your uncle showed up and you shoved all of your things into the back of his car before taking one last look at the building that used to be your home.
On to new adventures
