《Snatched》Chapter 49

"Some heroes they are." you mumbled, climbing over another huge pile of rubble "How did they not notice me at all?"
You had been able to simply walk away from the battlefield without a single hero or villain noticing you. You weren't mad though it made your life a lot easier to escape unseen. Now all you had to do was find your friends and make sure they weren't going to try and go back for you.
You made it to the top of the pile and looked down, a huge crowd of people were pushing against each other trying to get a view of the battle happening somewhere behind you. You could see a couple heroes trying to hold them back but you couldn't tell who they were.
Before you could start your descent down the rubble a huge shockwave from the battle behind you threw you off your feet, sending you sliding down the rubble.
Just my luck
You skidded to a halt at the bottom of the pile covered in dust and dirt cursing every time you hit a particularly jagged rock.
"Y/n?"
You looked up from your spot on the ground and were met with a very familiar face staring down at you in shock.
"Tamaki?"
He was wearing what you assumed to be his hero costume and was holding the crowd back with what looked like tentacles coming from where his arms should have been, but it was definitely Tamaki.
It took him a moment to respond while he just looked back and forth from you to the battlefield you just came from. "How did you-"
"Black magic." you responded quickly not wanting to explain the whole story of how you escaped, and pulled yourself to your feet.
"But you were kidnapped." he blurted out, obviously too shocked to remember how anxious he usually was. His eyes were wide with disbelief but his face quickly changed into one of relief "You're okay!"
You smiled, he was almost right. Other than your aching ankles and a couple cuts and bruises you were physically fine but mentally you were scarred. Being kidnapped wasn't something that you could easily brush off, not to mention finding out your childhood best friend was alive and a mass murderer.
"Yep I'm all good," you put a hand on his head "I'm glad to see that you're helping out."
Suddenly Tamaki turned bright red and hid his face in his hood mumbling uncontrollably about something you couldn't understand.
You slowly pulled your hand back "Tamaki, you alright?"
"I'm fine!" he squeaked, "I'm glad you're okay."
Huh?
You studied him for a moment trying to figure out what had happened but ultimately giving up. "I've got to go find the rest of my group so they don't think I'm dead. You need to stay here and keep doing what you're doing."

You gave him one last head pat and started pushing through the crowd of people that the heroes were trying to hold back before he could tell you to stop. His protests drowned out by shouting and cursing coming from the hue mass of citizens.
You had just barely squeezed your way into the mob of people when you got elbowed in the ribs and had your foot stepped on at the exact same time.
You'd think that people would want to get from the extremely deadly villain but nooo
You continued to shove your way through the crowd, receiving more injuries than you got from fighting villains, and getting called some very creative names, until you finally burst out into the open.
Did I think that through? No. Could I have easily gone around the people? Yes. Mistakes were made.
You looked around for a landmark to figure out where you were, but all you could see were more people running to join the mass of people you had just escaped. You heard someone yelling at people to slow down and instinctively turned around locking eyes with another familiar face.
Before you had a chance to think he had bolted towards you and picked you up in a bone crushing hug. "Y/N!"
"Mirio please my lungs." You choked out
"My bad I was just so excited! We were all so worried!" He loosened his arms and put you down but didn't let you go, holding you just far enough that he could see you properly.
His blue eyes were shining with tears as he frantically looked over every inch of your body for injuries.
"I'm fine, really" You assured him "but I need to go find the rest of my group."
His signature smile suddenly dropped. "Absolutely not."
You were taken back by his abrupt shift in attitude "What?"
His grip tightened on your shoulders "Y/n you were kidnapped by the league of villains and somehow managed to escape. Do you not understand how much danger you are in right now? Going off on your own isn't something I will allow you to do."
"I know but-"
"Y/n, nobody can handle losing you again." His voice was cold and serious, something that was extremely out of character for him and it sent shivers down your spine.
It was easy to forget that Mirio was at the top of his class and in training to become a hero who would inevitably have to kill villains and go through incredibly traumatic events. You figured there had to be some sort of seriousness about him that got him to the top, but you never expected him to be this intimidating.

As much as you wanted to find your friends and assure them that you were alive, as much as you wanted to see what was going on with All Might, as much as you wanted to stay and help in whatever way you could...Mirio was right.
"Okay."
Mirio called the police and told them to look for your friends and let them know you were alright. Then he called in for a replacement from the agency and started taking you back to UA where he said you'd be the safest.
When you finally got to UA you sat down in a chair and immediately fell asleep before anyone could come and see you.
The whole time Mirio didn't let go of you once.
***
You stumbled around your apartment with a bowl of cereal trying to find your phone which you had just been holding.
I swear to god that thing is more slippery than Tsu
You woke up in your bed minutes ago with a note from your uncle telling you to call him when you woke up. Apparently you had fallen asleep in UA, got treated by Recovery Girl, and then your uncle drove you home.
After an embarrassing amount of time you found your phone hidden among the spoons in your cutlery drawer. You turned it on to be met with hundreds of missed calls and texts. You were suddenly hit with a wave of guilt.
You scrolled up and found one of the first missed calls from Kirishima and played the voicemail.
Your voicemail message shocked you with how energetic you sounded but before you could think about it too much Kiri's voice made you almost drop your cereal.
you immediately noticed how scared he sounded. You could hear sirens in the background and people shouting.
This must've been while they were still at the training camp.
he swallowed "his voice broke and you just barely heard him sniff.
Oh god he's crying
he whispered
The voicemail ended.
Guilt tore at your stomach but you forced yourself to play the next one, it was from Ochako.
Immediately all you heard was uncontrollable sobbing she choked out she gasped she took a few fast, shaky breaths. Then she started to sob again.
The voicemail ended.
Shit
Tears were running down your face but you forced yourself to listen to the first calls from each of your friends.
The next one was from Tsu.
For the first few seconds she said nothing at all and then you heard her voice, quiet and strained. She sounded unimaginably tired She whimpered, the sound someone makes when they're about to cry.
The voicemail ended.
Then Deki
he laughed but it was clearly forced he tried to sound sure of himself but even he could tell that he was in denial. The next time he spoke he wasn't trying to cover up his emotions his voice broke
The voicemail ended.
Next was Mina
Her anger was all fear and worry and you both knew itShe started sobbing, when she spoke again her voice was softer
The voicemail ended.
Then it was Tenya
Despite his best attempts to hide it, he sounded more tired than Tsu. You knew he must have not been sleeping. he paused his next words faint and anxious
The voicemail ended.
Next was Izuku
he took a deep breath another breath his voice started to get tight and you knew what was coming next before you could hear him break down into tears...
The voicemail ended.
Then Momo
she sounded calm but from what you knew of her, she wasn't she was silent for a moment another moment of silence You heard the distinctive sound of a sliding door opening.
The voicemail ended.
Then Tokoyami
Tokoyami sounded far away and was drowned out by the roars and yells you recognized as belonging to Dark Shadow. After a couple moments of crashing and banging you could no longer hear Dark Shadow. Tokoyami sounded a lot closer now there was complete silence for a moment his voice was pained he cleared his throat " once again you heard the distinctive roars of Dark Shadow.
The voicemail ended.
Then Sero
he pausedhe swallowed, hardanother pause
The voicemail ended.
Next was Hitoshi
he sounded nervous " he took a deep breath
The voicemail ended.
Next was Shoto
Silence. He said nothing until his allotted time to speak almost ran out and then his words were completely void of emotion
The voicemail ended.
There were more messages and texts but you couldn't see through your tears.
You sobbed louder than you thought possible. You were sick with guilt and shame, you had done this to all of them and you knew it.
When it was just Shoto you could manage with apologies and false promises but now there were so many people who cared about you. So many people who were worried. So many people who got hurt.
That was it. You were done. You couldn't keep hurting the people you cared about.
You promised yourself that from now on you would do everything in your power to stay out of dangerous situations, not for yourself but for the people you loved.
It was the least you could do.

You Are The Gods.
You read the title right, YOU are a God within this story. In fact, every single reader of the story is a God. Many stories like to take the path that there are Gods that watch over the characters of the story, helping them or hurting them as the characters progress. What if, the readers of this story are the Gods that are watching the Main Characters? What if the readers could accrue points by reading that they could spend to help the main character, hurt the main character, or to even create new characters, dungeons, and scenarios? That is what I aim to create! I am trying to get the community involved in creating a reality that the readers themselves can directly influence! If you have any interest in this at all, I implore you to read the intro chapter called 'The Tutorial' and join everyone else on many interesting stories on Planet Earth and what it is to become! Volume 1 is where you can find how the system works, and the various things within the system! Volume 2 is the actual story and invasions itself. Volume 3 is where you can find previous polls and the such. Volume 3 is so we can all look back at the decisions made. Quick note. I am not the best writer, and will try my best to create the best quality story. There might be some grammar errors, or I might write in a simpler way compared to other authors because I do not have much time, nor can I write ahead either! If you wish to give me advice on the system as the story goes on, then I will gladly accept it. Lastly, just have fun with the story as I try to do something completely new! The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
